cool. Can we get that second pic of Tiwa again... but the backstage view. Thanks. ![]() |

TheCongo:You sir, have just backed up my point exactly. Playing "the blame game"... The "victim" card. No, i do not know what neocolonialism is. Why? Because neocolonialism is not responsible for a small Nigerian state budgeting $205 million (N33.8 billion) for a state house and fast tracking its funding and "execution" when its basic necessities like education infrastructure and health care are in ruins. Neocolonialism is not responsible for Nigerian politicians deeming it okay to pay themselves N30 million/month while in the same breath arguing against paying civil servants a minimum wage of N18,000/month. Do you see a pattern here? The average African American believes he is equal to anyone.. as a human being. HOWEVER, he does not believe he has the same opportunities, so instead of giving it his best shot, he dwells on "the blame game." ... "The white man is putting me down." NO, you are putting darn self down when you decide not to get even a basic high school education. Now, tell me who da heck is going to hire your illiterate self? (assuming he attempts to get a job). No one on this planet today can defeat you, except YOU. While some of us might have this figured out, the majority of blacks still roam the earth dragging imaginary shackles. Blacks probably need to implement some sort of psychological routine like those going through rehab in A. A (Alcoholics Anonymous). They each start their sharing sessions with the sentence - "I am XYZ, and I'm an alcoholic." Admitting you have a problem, and are responsible for it is the only way to position yourself on working out the solution. You should visit some Museums to have an idea of the type of development that existed in Africa before the white man arrived.Kindly educate me. I'm all ears. |
19naia Like you, i have visited a number of countries. I live in the U.S, and i believe you do too (or at least you're also an American citizen). HOWEVER, when it comes to this issue, we have to give priority consideration to the rule and not the exception. The majority of Caucasian-led societies are doing just fine = Fact. A smaller number of Caucasian-led societies are doing badly = Fact. Nearly ALL black-led societies are doing bad = Fact. 1 to 3 minimally populated black-led societies are doing okay (no major feats) = Fact. Hispanic, Asian and Arab societies fall somewhere in the middle. Blacks have maintained a tight grip on the bottom rung of all societies - whether they are the majority or minorities in that society. The sooner we start looking inward rather than playing the blame game, the sooner we'll elevate ourselves from the perpetual cesspool of poverty that has become synonymous with black society. I'm sick of hearing feeble excuses like- "oh, the colonial masters did this and that"... "the white man is trying to keep me down" etc. Before Africa had first-contact with Europeans and Arabs, what exactly was black Africa doing? what kind of development was she brewing all by herself?... nothing. You say but these societies live in poverty. True. But poverty is not the ultimate "cause," it is the ultimate "result." There was an article on Nairaland recently about a state governor in Nigeria (Bayelsa) building a state house or governor's house with a budget of $205 million - with the goal of having the best state house in Africa. Now, i can almost guarantee that the public schools in his state are in total rot, and the general clinics not too different. I will not bother going into details on the nature of transformation these same funds could bring to his state's educational and health care system. But NOOO.. that would be a waste of funds. He'd rather live it up in a gold plated state house. This right there is what is responsible for our status. Extreme greed, and highly misplaced priorities. Until we identify ourselves as the "problems" and not the "victims," we will NEVER elevate. |
19naia: There are third world like slums in America that are occupied by white people as well as other races... The Idea that if black people were a controlling majority in America, it would quickly decsend into a third world cesspool ~is not trueI beg to differ. kindly point to one definitively black nation which is economically and developmentally advanced. |
CFCfan:I wouldn't be surprised though. The airport looks small enough to be powered by that generator ![]() |
myhoodlink:First off, a man who can not get the spelling of his own name right should never be trusted Just kidding... but am i? ![]() As indicated in the book, your pen name is "Justin Tim" (two first names, but that's beside the point). However, your book cover has a very glaring typo of your name as "Justi m Tim." Fix that asap. This is your description below: "In cases where a partner willingly denies the other of his/her conjugal rights may breed resentment and friction from the aggrieved partner. Partners should learn to talk/explain to each other anytime they may not be able to play their role in the home sexually without necessarily waiting till the ‘eleventh hour’ before giving excuses. Even when such excuses may be genuine, failure to highlighting them before hand may still make the other partner harbor grievances in his/her heart. If such issue(s) is not well handled may lead to total breakup of the union....Partners should not see and treat the inability of one partner not measuring up with blames, accusation on the part of one partner or should see it as a collective pain that needs the effort of both of them to solving".1. The word "in" should not exist in that sentence, as its presence makes the sentence meaningless and grammatically wrong. 2. Change "highlighting" to "highlight" 3. "If such issue(s) is not" - This should read "If such an issue(s) is not" OR "If such issues are not." (Don't forget to adjust the rest of the sentence accordingly). 4. There should be only one period after "union." There isn't a reason here to have used "..." to bridge two unrelated sentences. 5. The sentence portion in bold beginning with "blames, accusation..." should be completely reworded. 6. I'm not sure why you have your last three lines in quotes, but there should not be quotes over there. Also, when writing quotes, periods go inside the quote, not outside. e.g "bla bla." not "bla bla". It is not a bad description, it just needs to be properly written. Good luck ![]() |
Why are there no pics of the interior and facilities? While it is pretty on the outside, It looks tiny for an international airport. It looks more like a bank headquarters. It is much better than nothing though ![]() I just checked the budget for it, and the sources say around 15 billion naira. Now, my question is: If it costs 15 billion naira to build something as useful as an international airport, WHY DA EFF does a state like Bayelsa budget 33.8 billion naira to build a worthless edifice such as a governor's house or state house.. or whatever? ![]() and the state has nothing to show for itself? How does a "world class" state house benefit anyone other than the Bayelsa governor? |
theiks:Many CEOs do not own the company they work at. CEO is the Chief Executive Officer. That is a position, and not an indication of ownership. |
I don't get it. Have they changed the dictionary meaning of "collection"? ![]() |
make sure you have not accidentally added a "robots.txt" command, perhaps while fiddling around with stuff. I don't use blogger, but it should be in your settings, under "custom robots.txt" |
slimzypink:Guys please, i warn you. DO NOT look in this girl's profile. You will regret it. |
Sarahn:Perhaps you could save everyone the trouble by simply checking off the "f" gender designation in your profile. I don't use one because i am gender neutral... I am only a website ![]() |
All they need to do is scrap the damn thing. |
Youngsage:Bros, post your own make we see "big boy swag." ![]() |
However, the lanky entertainer told Saturday Beats that if he had not been a musician, he probably would have been a goalkeeper.Tubaba. No be goalkeeper you for be, all man know say your true calling na striker. ![]() |
Postpone the damn thing. na by force? |
I like the sleepy cat and the cow. Others are a little too life-like to have photographic appeal. Having a shallow depth of field (e.g in cat and cow) makes a massive difference in the outcome of your image. Keep shooting ![]() |

Do you have any idea what $50m is? ![]() |
People love to hate this pretty lady don't they? |
I am positive the OP does not live in the US. Either that, or he just got fresh off the boat. How can you possibly compare "freedom" here in the US to Egypt, Morocco etc. If you're truly in Cali, then you must be on that Cali kush. |
What exactly is the status? |
Interesting. I think it is a valid move though. |
Zico0:Of course my individual opinion may not directly affect your project. However, you're failing to look at the bigger picture. People often fail to recognize valuable input at this stage of their game, until they have paid the price of time. My input is only an honest review of your book cover, which I'll say again - is horrendous. Not as a diss to your efforts, but the stark reality which your target audience WILL be faced with. You either acknowledge that fact and revise accordingly, or you don't. As i said before, your organic sales will reflect that - sooner than later. I am not some random individual shitting on your work. I have worked full time as a Business Specialist for many years at the biggest telecommunications company in the world. I also own a full service Media production company here in the U.S and in Nigeria, among other things. Trust me, i know a thing or two about these "things." I might talk random crap often when using this website's (Na Laugh) Nairaland account - but do not discount the value of my advise. I'm sure your book contains valuable information, however, you have to "convince" people from the get-go. Remember that old cliche' - "Don't judge a book by its cover"? Well, unfortunately almost no one abides by it. Good luck. |
![]() In Duncan Mighty voice: "I don't give a shot" |
bobojoshua:The question is why i should send you a PM. If you have a question or something, feel free to ask here. I generally don't use Nairaland's PM or email request or whatever that thing is. |
bobojoshua:Why? |
Zico0:You don't have to agree. Your organic sales numbers will give you the hint. Good luck though. |
