Onamaz:Allow them. Saraki wasn't conspicuously absent. |
Nothing wrong |
Rubbish So Wike should sit and put his hands in between his legs as a slave abi? The only people trying to portray this as North-South issue are Atiku and his followers. Atiku did not honour the party constitution and agreements. In addition to existing constitution, Ayu declared he would step down if a Northerner emerges as the candidate. They all reneged on their agreements. Are these the sort of individuals you would expect to honour any agreement with Nigerians and Unions? They now want to infuse ethnoreligious sentiments as usual. Thankfully, the Northern populace is getting more enlightened on the manipulations by these dishonourable politicians. |
yorubarere:Highly unlikely. In fact, I can say it's not Tobi. I observed something during the celebrations immediately after the 4 X 100m relay which may have drawn the attention of officials. Let's wait for final results of investigation. |
Newsline09:Wike did what any right-thinking proactive leader would do to protect his people. So he would have allowed IPOB into Rivers State? With the display of insensitivity, lack of integrity and desperation by Atiku and his camp, any sensible person would question the sort of leadership they intend to bring to Nigerians who have been through insufferable conditions in the past 7 years. It would have been the greatest calamity to befall Nigerians if Atiku and his cohorts just arrogantly had their way without any form of resistance. |
Dr Ronke Ogunbameru may be the youngest. Lovely. |
I doubt it is 'Northerners' who fixed those prices. You'll be shocked to find out it's fellow Southerners who ensured the higher prices in their zones were fixed in order to generate more revenue for their offices. If not for this user who discovered the discrepancy and voiced out, were there no Southerners in the NIS who knew of this? This pattern cuts across basically all sectors and aspects of life. Inflation of prices, extortion in the guise of government officials, land-grabbing, etc These are 'normal' in the South and sadly, more are adopting these as a way of life, with the number of sane, straightforward people progressively diminishing. 'them too get sense', 'them too wise' , they no dey carry last' - these are a few of the conjectures used as excuses to condone dishonourable ways of living amongst sane people. Abeg leave Northerners. Wetin concern them with how much Una charge una selves for una State? Go to most of the immigration offices in the South to process the passport and see if you won't pay multiples of the 35k. |
From the police statement, they implied he wasn't the only one who made attempt to flee from danger, and he made a U-turn when he saw commuters ahead of him doing same. He must have gotten such info from other commuters. Most times when such panic occurs, there's usually pandemonium. So accidents frequently occur. I expect the force to carry out more extensive investigations, not just from Fayose. So if any victim was abducted, they could be possibly rescued. |
seunmsg:How many shots of ogogoro you take this evening? ![]() |
Waywardson6:And terrorists kept in a medium security prison. I hope the NPF has swiftly thrown the uniformed armed robbers who robbed the medical doctor 2 days ago into kirikiri. |
LOL APC go just receive woto woto |
Jibrinpapa:How can Southern Kaduna with 12 out of 23 Local Government Areas in Kaduna be just 15% of the population? |
spy24:Now you get. I respect Wike o. Fujiyama:God will continually bless you. I'll continue to say it - the Southerners are their own problem! |
Insincerity, greed and lack of empathy. A lot of people believe they need to live by these negative attributes to make it. As for the NGOs, it doesn't just affect mushroom ones, as there may be a few that may genuinely want to make a difference. In this our Nigeria, even well-recognized international agencies have been stained with this putrid culture of corruption. The journalist dwelled on a little aspect regarding operations. Do you even have an idea how recruitment is done, especially when the process is to be overseen by our Nigerians? Just go compare it with other 3rd world Countries eg Brazil, Gambia, etc then you may be able to identify one of the root causes of their ineffectiveness in this environment. |
MyVILLAGEpeople:He never insulted any judge. As you heard, the CCTV installed in that court should be made available for examination to show where and how he insulted the judge. |
After driving against traffic. All this mumuness na just initial gra-gra. Triple offense. He go answer. You see these slow retards almost everywhere now. Since they feel the place is lawless, it's an opportunity to do whatever they like, even if it poses serious danger to others. An example should be made of this one. Spiritualife:Exactly. That was eerie, cos the man could have pulled out any dangerous weapon. Even though someone was taking video evidence, the policeman took a huge risk there. Timoleon:In addition to the report, from video evidence, his car is seen on the Left side of the road demarcation, facing oncoming vehicles. Even a trailer is seen waiting for the drama to end. Understandably, we cannot tell whether there was any form of initial provocation on the part of the officer, but with the initial offense, the man could have been more civil and reasonable. This unruly behaviour is getting increasingly common, notably in cities like Lagos and Benin and can only be curtailed in the short-term by dealing decisively with such culprits. |
Nice curtain, sorry tie! |
Jesusloveyou:The thing eh! Atiku is not serious. This has lingered this long because the arrogance towards their southern counterparts has to be maintained. I no blame am. I blame the snitches who despite their party constitution and multiple declarations for a Southern presidency, went ahead to betray one another due to personal vendetta and selfish interests. 2023, they'll all be sent packing. |
Mide70:In our own Country which is far from development, the 'leaders' say they are not needed. They fill up the only few 'juicy' positions available with their cronies, leave the youth unemployed and tell them to become entrepreneurs using the thin air. Countries with intelligent leaders will continue to benefit from our robust human resource. sulaak:That's great. Are you based in Nigeria? |
Hehehe |
Dem don come again |
As you do that unveil the sponsors of Boko haram also. Thank you |
rickpat:Or a kidnapper sef. Come carry her dey go where she no know |
Zee0007:Wow. That's in Zaria. A better Nigeria shall surely come. |
These Ghanians like Atiku pass us for Nigeria o! Wow |
nedekid:The loans Nigeria, as a nation takes from global financial institutions are usually within globally accepted standard rates and conditions. The issue Nigeria has is utilising the loans appropriately in order to boost the economy and ultimately pay back the loans with less strain. The major causative factor is corruption. As for these loan sharks, they benefit from this same corruption and despite the harsh economic realities their targets are subjected to, aim to extort their 'victims' by placing conditions which can never be acceptable anywhere in this world. And they do this by taking advantage of the lapses of regulatory bodies and their collusion with certain entities within the financial sector. Even in the best economies with best loan conditions, there would always be defaulters due to a wide range of reasons, not to talk of an ailing economy where a struggling individual is expected to pay over 50% interest in one week as reported in a post above. Even 50% in one month is a rip off and places tremendous stress on the borrower. Then to worsen it, they resort to criminal activities in a bid to obtain their 'proceeds'. drsibz66:Many Nigerians are unaware of this. |
OneMillionBTC:Exactly. A major problem we have are our financial institutions/banks. They've managed to institutionalise corruption in that sector and continue to take advantage of Nigerians due to lack of proper orientation and information regarding the financial mandates they've been licensed to provide. A number of these banks even work in cahoots with these loan sharks in order to gain from the ridiculous interest rates. As in organised countries, I believe Nigeria has laws with which such loan and credit companies MUST comply if they are to operate within its shores. This also goes for the so-called commercial banks, etc. |
ajekpaks: ![]() The long journey to professorship. You can imagine the orientation such individual would develop regarding the system This country eh, I no know Wetin fit give am hard reset. |

BREAKING: After 21 Days, Power-drunk Akwa Ibom Chief Judge Releases Doctored Copy Of Judgement Used In Jailing Human Rights Lawyer, Inibehe Effiong The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom, Ekaette Obot has finally furnished human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong with a copy of the judgement committing him to prison. SaharaReporters, however, learnt that the copy released by the judge had been doctored to prevent embarrassment for her over the illegal incarceration of the lawyer. On July 27, Effiong was sent to prison by the state chief judge after the lawyer reportedly protested against the presence of armed policemen in court. The human rights lawyer, who is also the National Legal Adviser of the African Action Congress (AAC), was in court to defend Leo Ekpenyong, a lawyer, in a libel suit filed by Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom. Meanwhile, the illegal imprisonment has attracted condemnation from civil society organisations and many Nigerians. On August 3, the Nigerian Bar Association said the lawyer was not given a fair hearing before he was sent to prison by the judge, and the organisation threatened to petition the judge at the National Judicial Council (NJC). On Monday, Effiong filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Uyo, praying the court to direct Obot to furnish him with a copy of the 27 July judgment to enable him to file an appeal. He also urged the court to declare as illegal and unconstitutional, the judge’s refusal to release the conviction order, as it violates Section 36 (7) of the 1999 Constitution as amended. According to the constitution, Effiong is entitled to a copy of the judgment within seven days of the conclusion of the case. However, SaharaReporters gathered that Obot finally furnished the lawyer with the certified copy of court proceedings on Wednesday, 21 days after she sentenced him to prison. “The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, the Honourable Justice Ekaette Fabian-Obot furnished Inibehe Effiong with the Certified True Copy of the proceedings of High Court No 1, Uyo Judicial Division Akwa Ibom State today (17/8/2022). “The certified true copy of the record of proceedings was made available 21 days after the conviction of Inibehe Effiong for contempt of court contrary to Sections 36(7) and 294(1) of the Constitution which stipulates that the parties to a cause or matter be furnished with duly authenticated copies of the decision of a trial court within seven days of the delivery thereof. “The Notice of Appeal against the conviction and sentence of one-month imprisonment imposed on Inibehe Effiong will be filed on Thursday, August 18, 2022,” a source told SaharaReporters. However, SaharaReporters also learnt that the judge rushed back from vacation to release the copy of the proceedings, which had been doctored. A source said the judge “hurriedly returned from vacation to release the doctored copy of the proceedings”. SaharaReporters earlier reported that Obot was making moves to forge the court proceedings she used to sentence Effiong to one month’s imprisonment for alleged contempt. “The Chief Judge is currently working round the clock to doctor the proceedings in which she used to sentence Inibehe after condemnation from right and left. “Different people have exposed her, even lawyers present in court faulted her decision. The NBA leadership also said that her judgement did not follow due process,” a judicial worker had told SaharaReporters. Indeed, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Olumide Akpata, had picked holes in the procedure adopted by Obot in jailing the lawyer. Akpata said the association might be forced to petition the National Judicial Council (NJC) over the action of the chief judge. “Regardless of the conduct of Mr. Effiong in the courtroom on the date of the proceedings that led to his committal, one thing that has come out from the various accounts that the NBA has so far received is that Hon. Justice Ekaette Obot did not follow due process in the committal proceedings,” Akpata tweeted via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, August 3. The NBA president cited denial of fair hearing among the breaches allegedly committed by the judge in sending Effiong to prison. “Mr. Effiong was not put in the dock, told what his wrong or contempt was, given fair hearing or even an opportunity to recant or purge himself (a courtesy that the Bench should, at the minimum, extend to counsel where counsel’s conduct is said to be contemptuous). “This, on its face, not only runs afoul of known practice and procedure in such cases, but is also unconstitutional. “In view of the foregoing and depending on the outcome of our ongoing investigations, the NBA may be forced to take this matter up with the National Judicial Council.” https://saharareporters.com/articles/breaking-after-21-days-power-drunk-akwa-ibom-chief-judge-releases-doctored-copy-judgement
