I am also at a loss why the senators should think a man who is not a custom officer should wear the official uniform of a profession he never belonged, I beg to also ask what rank should he wear and what law compels him to do so as the administrative head of the organisation? I suspect none; and that would explain why they were threatening to go back to the drawing board to change the law in order to prevent anyone other than a custom officer from heading the organisation - it is obvious they are only motivated by sentiments.

I was also very disappointed with their lack of decorum and over bearing attitude bordering on disrespect towards him, which appeared on Channels TV; you could clearly sense that the matter was more personal and emotional than professional - and may not be far from a conflict of interest between his strict uncorrupt stance and their usual corrupt demands.

I pity our youths who allow sentiments other than common sense to influence their judgement.

Has he forgotten that he was president for over 6 yrs, with all the opportunity to alleviate the environmental problem, as a son of that region; but sadly chose to do absolutely nothing about bettering the life of the average Niger Deltan, except to stupendously enrich a few ex militants like Tompolo and Asari Dokubo etc to play lip service to him, who in turn did not even invest their ill gotten wealth in their own enclave but to invest in rxotic and far away places like Cote D'IVoire, Abuja and Dubai etc.
Has he forgotten how he mortgaged our navy and turned over their pipeline protection duty to these rouges, paying them huge inflated contracts; while essentially was like also gaving them license to steal directly from the pipelines?

That is exactly how such problems have always been manged in most parts of the north; the local authorities step in and ensure the farmer is compensated; unfortunately it would appear that victims in other parts of the country are too impatient to allow such process and often choose direct confrontation with the herdsmen - which in turn results in reprisals and counter reprisals.
I hope the law would also side with the herdsmen whenever their rights are violated because that is the only way to guarantee justice and ensure peace.

They were in this regard the first to restructure this country, by abolishing the regional structure we had, in order to concentrate power to themselves.
Unfortunately, it backfired because they didn't last in power, they were toppled and we also had the war; but nonetheless not before leaving us with the legacy of the basic model of the unitary system we have today - ironically something they are now bitterly against.

In short, Igbos were responsible for messing up our promising political structure and system. In fact, even the concept of rotational presidency and geopolitical zones were accepted in order to accommodate them; yet they are still not satisfied and now demanding for re-restructuring - how many times do we have to flip-flop for them, what sore losers.

Government pays compensation to land occupiers only for what is on to of the ground i.e. crops, buildings etc. but not for the land itself - when it needs to recover the land due to overriding public interest.

FYI, government owns all the land which it vests in the state governor, who in turn is empowered to allocate parcels of it to individuals/organizations wishing to lease it via issuance Certificate of Occupancy, on agreement they'd pay land rent for the duration of the lease (usually 99 yrs).
Nobody out-rightly owns any land; individuals/organisations merely tenants on the land they occupy or build on; government is the only land owner.

As already mentioned, that was why this question along with the others you posed were quite ignorant as well as unnecessary.
