ifyalways: Oh Good although I meant the OP. I'm not keen on handing him cash. If its ok with you, I prefer he sends either of us his data page, we pay the fees and dhl him the receipt. If its Ok by you ,ofcourse.
OP, which state are you at? If you are OK with us paying the visa fees then you can scan and email me your data page. ifyalways at gmail We can actually scan him the receipt, all he needs to do is print it out. They don't even ask for the receipt at the gate. He'll just use the receipt number to book an appointment. |

I emailed the school and got the attached response.
Congratulations! I get the feeling that you're a very intelligent person because apparently it is a difficult scholarship to win.
The guy i mailed at MSU says they will pay your SEVIS Fee so that's not a cost to you. Hope you weren't trying to make fast money on top of this good thing God has done for you. Anyways, the only cost now is your VISA Fee (N31,520).
They said they will even reimburse your VISA fee on arrival in August
I am willing to split the VISA fee with anyone. Please help him
p.s. Was unable to post the picture, don't know why but i've uploaded the screenshot here *removed at OP's request* |

DivineKid: I've not applied for visa before. Visa fee according to what I gathered from the net is $160. $160 at N300 per $ is N48,000. And the Dollar costs more than N300 these days. What's important to me now is finding solutions on how to settle the fees irrespective of how much the Dollar costs. I'd even be happy if it cost less. It's 31,520. You pay in Naira at the rate posted on the ustraveldocs site which is 197, not black market rate. It's not just about getting the money. Please read up well on here, transcripts and all, so you're well prepared and to increase your chances of getting the visa. Send me your details also. All the best. |
Travel › Re: -------------------- by NanaF: 1:46pm On May 18, 2016 |
Your Visa fee is N31,520.00
At $200, I'm not sure how the Sevis Fee payment is made. But using card rate, thats almost N60,000.
Total is about N90,000.00 |

ceetee: Wanted to keep mute and let this pass however didn’t want to leave the likes of @freeradical hanging since we started this journey together. As has been buttressed severally (though it seems some folks are resistant to comprehension) the enquiry is TO GET A REASON FOR THE DELAY OR THE GET THE “BIG DOGS” TALKING not to hasten anything pls read!. I think these folks are employees paid to douse situations like this. In my little assessment I think most people here aren’t cowards they just don’t have an opinion of their own so they tend to follow the popular views. @ dway4ward God bless you for the above, you are seeing the bigger picture of what is being debated here. That's the thing most people have been trying to explain. They don't owe us a reason. If they had explicitly said 'recruitment put on hold until further notice.', would you still feel same way? Let's channel the email enthusiasm into looking for insider info. It's well. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by NanaF: 11:11pm On May 04, 2016 |
freeradical: I see where @prelinctus got his recent skepticism from. On 25th April, someone twitted to Oga babs handle enquiring about the NLNG GT recruitment and the man responded that NLNG had recently contacted participants from the ac with relevant info. He then responded immediately that they will endeavour to provide regular feedback on the progress of the exercise. The enquirer then politely thanked him for his prompt response and went ahead to remind the NLNG boss that the last feedback we got was 3 months ago though we continue to wait.
I think with what this blessed soul has done there is no need for us to send another enquiry to Babs anymore. I believe now that he is already aware and the monitors from HR dept that frequent this site would also know that even on nairaland people are beginning to grow restless on their lack of feedback.
Let's wait and see what happens in the coming days. Its very likely that it's not even him posting tweets and it's the same person managing both NLNG and Bab's account. That exact same response was given to the same person when the same question was asked 3months earlier. No need to read too much into it. Bombarding with mails or tweets will elicit the same generic response. If they are not ready for us, sadly, there's nothing we can do but wait. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by NanaF: 6:45pm On May 04, 2016 |
I really don't think contacting them is necessary.
Last we heard they gave us their 'highest assurance' that updates will be sent in 'due course'
Due course can be 6 months or even more
I say just we wait it out and push them to the back of our minds for now.
Prelinctus, if you personally know GTs that have resumed, surely you can give us more info. No? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by NanaF: 6:33pm On May 03, 2016 |
ceetee: Wouldn’t surprise me. Last week on their twitter handle they said they recently communicated info to those that participated in the AC, so anything could have happened. @freeradical all ur pondering on this issue though not new are totally rational. However, all I see at play here is just Nigerians being Nigerians i.e. “they will wait jare”. As Kaitung posited a while back, from recent reports I fear for the company’s future unless they put their acts together within the next 3 years.
By the way anyone up for twerking to mark AC anniversary? Or do we prefer e-protests? They tweeted that in January. So as at that time, the last communication was recent. Any one else can confirm what prelinctus said? Do you know anyone personally who has resumed? |

She said she went to the South African embassy and was told that their system is down so they are currently approving manually. She also said they are currently treating submissions on 1st and 2nd, after which they will do 3rd and 4th. So they will probably reach her application by next week. |
