Fheeemy: But was the bombing necessary?
Who will pay for the rebuilding of what was destroyed and with whose money?
Have you asked whose money they have been using to do talk=chat=discuss=dialogue=converse and all the nonsense ever since?

The boys are simply saying enough of the talk, let real developmental work begin.

katsumoto: Did you read my post well? Did I state the South must be one? Did I equally state the Yoruba and Igbo MUST be in one republic? Please read my posts again below paying attention to the part in bold. What I mean by the part in bold is that the South and MB may secede together and either form one republic or several republics but sign a defence pact.

Sincerity can be understood by all tribes and races. There are insincere Northerners just as there are insincere Southerners. There are sincere southerners just as there are sincere northerners.
Na so una go use style style dey say person no go school. No wahala sha.  huh

Did you read my post well? Did I state the South must be one? Did I equally state the Yoruba and Igbo MUST be in one republic?
YES, yes and yes. Though you gave a second option , but the first proposal is that the south and middlebelt would be one.

1.The aligned regions may decide to form one republic or
2. they may align just to break away together and sign a defence pact afterwards to defend each other's territory from Northern aggression.
I make bold to say that in both proposals , there  still will be WAR.
PoliticsRe: Chief Of Defence, Paul Dike's Position Irrelevant : What Are Your Thoughts ? by naso2(m): 12:45pm On Mar 15, 2010
This happens whenever the CDS is not from the ARMY irrespective of his the tribe or region .

In the days of agwai, ogomudia, azazi it was not so. The rivalry amongst the forces always put a non-army CDS at a disadvantaged position.
PoliticsRe: Is Break Up Equal To Civil War? by naso2(m): 11:25am On Mar 15, 2010
katsumoto: It is possible for the country to break up without war but such a move would require very sincere and honest leaders from all parts of the country. In the first instance, if all regions in the South together with the middle belt formed an alliance, it would be difficult for the 'North' to attempt various campaigns against all the aligned regions. The aligned regions may decide to form one republic or they may align just to break away together and sign a defence pact afterwards to defend each other's territory from Northern aggression.

The alliance of the Southern and middle belt regions may even force the northern part to sit up and engage in honest dialogue. Such a dialogue may lead to the adoption of true federalism or con-federationism. But the fact of the matter is that most regions have duplicitous and insincere leaders making such a situation a fallacy.
This your theory will not work even on paper. Did you say sincere? Sincerity means different things to the Northerner and the southerner. Case in point Yaradua's disappearance.

Once the Middlebelt and south align in the mould you are suggesting, then the middlebelt becomes the immediate battle ground and it will be really intense.

Besides who told you a yorubaman and an IGBO man wants to be in the same republic? The ND would feel this arrangement only mean they are switching masters and nothing new hence will not be keen to support it

I think he should be celebrated. He has tried compared to all the bloody looters we have herr in Nigeria.I don't
Have anything against that man . Please don't too
My friend can we stick to the issues here and not all this your stories? We are talking about the disrespect for due process. Why not make him the president of Nigeria without elections becuase he has employed youths? For our society to develop we must develop a culture of obeying due process.

Besides i just hope when we have an independent assessment of Dangote's contributions so far, his antics of chocking the competition by using unfair government patronage, and his alledged "wayo" deals at the ports would not have eroded every goodwill some still have for him.

I am beginning to sense that even if it takes 100years, SLS WILL GET THE SAME TREATMENT IN COURT BECAUSE OF THE CHILDISH MANNER WITH WHICH HE HANDLED THE INTERVENTION EXERCISE.

PoliticsRe: Jos Crisis: Why We Struck –fulani Settlers by naso2(m): 11:38am On Mar 12, 2010
I know say dis mallam dem dey sabi misbehave well well. But if really as some claim here, the hausa-fulanis were slaughtered in like manner and people are using different commitees to delay actions that will guarantee lasting peace, then you cant blame the Fulanis too much.

The killing of innocent children and women is condemnable in strong terms, but I think it will not be too fair if we all just take sides fully on tribal and religious grounds without looking at the very root of this crisis and how possibly it can be addressed.
PoliticsRe: No Intending Corp Member Posted To Jos? by naso2(m): 6:58pm On Mar 11, 2010
Yes human life is precious and should be preserved , but I have a simple question :

Is this the standard now? Yes Jos has been hot lately but other states like Bauchi,Borno etc have also had a fair share of voilence , why was this not invoked then? A youth corper was raped to death, the responses were even more annoying than the rape itself. All these Abokis can not go cause trouble, maim and kill women and children and at the same time use their inflated numerical advantage in government parastatals and NASS to now enact a new rule.

If this is the new rule, then it must be followed strictly. I am sure that in 2 years time no northern state will be having corpers.

@OP

You always make reading your threads very difficult . Is there a problem with using the breadth of the Posting screen?

I have 2 problems with the Sultan's statement:

1. Understating the number of casualties. Even the most conservative news sources have put the figure at above 400 lives, so why is he saying 150 people?

2.Why call it a reprisal attack?  is he  somehow justifying the act?  IT WAS AN ATTACK. The reprisal will come from the Beroms soon.

~Bluetooth:
for the first time, you are making sense here.donald is not a presidential figure.he might have won election as a governor but i doubt if he can win in the south-south talkless of in nigeria.most of the governors on the pdp platform are seeking their second tenure, therefore, they must deliver the available votes for their party.i see knowall trying to explain the flow of votes and i must say that as for now, individual candidacy will not work due to the current crop of greedy politicians in pdp.no matter how hard duke may try,he's never going to get the presidency as an independent candidate because the pdp will never conduct a free and fair presidential election.
But you wicked sha o grin grin grin grin

Even if you conduct a free and fair election, an independent candidate will never be able to get the winning structure behind him for a presidential election . Dis country big o, I hope say una know?
PoliticsRe: Lets Rally Round To Support Donald Duke For President Come 2011 by naso2(m): 11:11am On Mar 11, 2010
KnowAll:
The Uwais report allows for independents to run. Donald Duke can run as an independent, if the PDP fields IBB, the SW can support an Independent by switching their votes to that person in protest for what IBB did to Abiola in 1993.

If the SW is in the bag for Duke by Tinubu and Fashola throwing their weights behind him, I see him sweeping most of the SE and SS votes. The battle ground would be the middlebelt, the Jos riots does not do any favours to the PDP, chances are that Duke might gain in-roads into States like Plateau, Nassarawa, Taraba, Benue, Kogi and part of Kwara and Kaduna States.

There would just be a pocket of 10 to 12 core Northern States that will go for PDP but that also depends on whether Buhari and Atiku are also running they would split the Northern votes.
Bros in the Nigeria of today, the best an independent candidate can get is a seat in the Federal House. You seem to undermine a core determinant in elections which is structure. Again I repeat structure.

Never ever bank on the south east to give him overwhelming   support why? Because Igbos will never go all out to support any single candidate in a presidetial run , expecially one who is not one of theirs. During the 1993 elections I was so passionate about MKO winning , but by my calculations was apprehensive that the SE would not support MKO and that Tofa would sweep the SE states becuase of the Sylvester Ugo influence. An elderly Igboman understood my concerns but encouraged me that no non-igbo will ever sweep the votes of the SE. He then explained that since after the Civil war the Igbos have learnt NEVER to put their eggs in one basket expecially when the elections involve outsiders and that at best, they try to split votes to make it a win-win for them no matter the outcome of the elections.

The summary here is that if Donald duke squares up against say IBB , the best either of them can get from the SE is a marginal egde. It can never be a clean sweep.

From his first term in office when he had some fans because of the pockets of projects he was doing , I have never liked this man called OGD. When I see him I see evil personified. He tries to use that facade of simplicity and comedy to cover his real peronality.

I am happy this has been brought to public domain , which will make it hard for OGD to employ his killer squad for his normal acts.

kamalcole:
IBB is not the best northern candidate for the next election.the truth is there is no qualified candidate from the north at the moment but notwithstanding if they must feature someone it better be Buhari. some call IBB a genius but i have researched and i fail to see what is genius about Ibb rather i see a military opportunist who preyed on gullibilty of Nigerians for 8 years and got away with it.as for Goodluck Jonathan, i think the best thing for him after this is just to go home because governance is not for his kind of person.i mean he is too dull to either make or effect change in a country like this so there is no need coming as VP to anybody.
The way politics plays out in this country, I have found out that the names that show up early as propects hardly make it to the finish line. If IBB's name is coming this early, I think it is a decoy, they have other plans.

I do not want IBB to return, but I can tell you BUHARI is far worse. Aside his intellectual limitations , he is a FANATIC that will most likely give backing to this dangerous "boko haram-ish" tendencies we see in the north these days. He is also too vengeful a man to lead the nation. My thots though.
