PoliticsRe: More Details: Still In Coma - Sick President Umaru Yar'adua "returns". . . by naso2(m): 9:10am On Feb 24, 2010
This might turn out the last and final card for the YARA camp. If the same US that is congratulating jonathan is also ochestrating his return, then it will be almost impossible not to start impeachment proceedings on health grounds. They(US) know the full health status.
PoliticsRe: I Saw Yar’adua On Saturday –aminchi by naso2(m): 5:48pm On Feb 23, 2010
Good. If he saw the president then the doctors/saudi authorities have no excuse to deny the FEC delegation seeing him. we dey watch.

Sources say that acting president Goodluck is not planning to campaign as president next yr which i think makes no sense. We all want to reach the peak of our career n i am sure he is nursing same. I do pray a way emerges 4 him to come out next yr, sorry this November, even if it means decamping to another party
Forget story. What Jonathan needs is to get the "ACTING" prefix taken off the title, then people will see high level scheming.

The president of this country is too powerful to be intimidated expecially when he can get his wish without a constitutional ammendment.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Stop! All Treads Of Ethnic And Religious Sentiments On Nairaland! by naso2(m): 1:01pm On Feb 19, 2010
izon keme. Well said.

However for me all the ethnic and religious leanings do not necessarily divide us more. They wholly show who we are. By legislating only constructive threads, are you going to legislate the responses too? We all know that will definitely discount the freedom a forum like this afford.

I somehow know that somewhere , sometime even the bigots on here will see the futility of the beliefs and efforts so far  and we will all come forge a way forward.

Is it the same IYA shamsudeen on olofa way , near fire service? The bushmeat woman. What surprises me there though is why the pounded yam never leaves the morter. They sell directly from the Mortar, no wrapping.

CORRECT.
I think the hidden location of yilata makes it more attractive. The pepper inside the chicken dey wan make man kolo, but anyhow the thing sweet. Sometimes when you order for assorted yilata, u go know say life sweet.

I also understand there is a standard hotel near POLY now. Is that true?

YILATA sprang to prominence of late. traditionally it used to be one "point and kill joint" at Ijagbo, there used to be one fish joint at IPE junction also(i don forget the name)

Well different strokes.

I remember when all my friends where yoruba babes, another yoruba friend ( guy ) gave an advice that he saw my interest in yoruba babes but that i should just be very cautious to choose a wife who is 1. An IJEBU or 2. Any other yoruba lady that was trained in LaGOS Island. He gave some reasons though(make i no too talk).

He said all others were ok but i should exercise caution with the above mentioned.

Yilata na our joint na. Other notable wack joints are IYA akebe (Pounded yam and assorted), General(Early morning amala), Iya shamsudeen (Bush meat and pounded yam). Offa sweet no be small.

A.B.S:
Puleeeze, Henry did it once and it was at least 25 yards out, not in the penalty box. Where have u ever seen an indirect free-kick (the penalty box type) played before a wall was mounted
25 Yards or inside the box, whats the difference?. The referee signals a free kick and except on grounds where he is booking a player or determining where the wall should be positioned the free kick can be taken immediately. In this case the call was an indirect kick and the wall would have been on the goal line.

While I expected Arsenal to be smarter, we must no loose sight of the fact that the Porto player took a gamble too, to have hastily taken an indirect kick that fast, if any arsenal player had blocked the shoot a golden chance would have been wasted. In this case the risk paid off for porto. Wenger should just keep quiet and prepare for the second leg

they will surely win,we have no ideological group all party are the same
Thank you.
I for one do not know the difference between PDP and other political parties. We also have this warped logic that whenever PDP is defeated , it is becuase there was minimal rigging. The truth however is that sometimes in some of these states, the other parties win by outrigging PDP. All of them na thief.

For me I only consider the candidate, the party makes little difference.

@na_so: I wish to understand you. Is this about Obj too?
My broda no mind me jare. I veered off a bit to respond to marvix's post
The ascension of Goodluck shld not be credited to Obj but 1st to Yaradua for always insisting on following due process no matter how long it took and the perseverance of Goodluck.
These things happen and only make the discourse more rounded
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: The Principality And Power by naso2(m): 10:20am On Feb 12, 2010

@na_so do u tink dat we actually needed a letter to empower a VP to act? The truth is Goodluck is d grand politician wat Aondoaka nd co wanted was an acting president witout d powers of d president and Jonathan was wiser than dem all dat was y he insisted on not doin a lot of presidential tasks until evryone agrees dat he has all d powers of d presidency and he achieved this witout a single word just by kipin quiet somtin he learnt frm d master Yaradua.
Yaradua did us a favor by insistin on not sendin a letter but instead allowed it to play out the truth is once d president is absent the VP takes over there is no two way abt it the only reason he is supposed to transmit to d NA is so they know he is not AWOL not to empower somone who has already been sworn in. In a scenario where d president on state visit to a country is kidnapped or held hostage do we need a letter to empower d vice to take charge as d commander in chief to request the immediate release of d president or declare a war or would we have stood still waitin 4 d president if the army of cameroun or niger crossed our borders even Jonathan would not allow it to happen. The truth is Jonathan didn't want to be a lame duck actin president who would approve budget but can't discipline d ministers and when decisions taken are not in tandem wit some peoples views they would disobey and insist dat the president shld resume first.
My guy definitely within the confines of the constitution for now, the president actually needs to send that letter to empower the VP. we do not want a case where we have two people laying claim to the presidency at the same time. That will be real chaos.

Secondly if we want to judge fairly, what the senate did is ILLEGAL. The only question i keep asking  is if the constitution  stipulates the maximum number of days the president can go AWOL before  the seat can be declared vacant.

If the senate's action is challenged in court , the only thing the courts can do to help (on the grounds of national security) will  be to keep adjorning while the senate has time to formalise with a proper impeachment. What this YARA------- has done is gross misconduct.

@egift Obj can never be said to be our best president infact he is d worst in our history wateva he gave wit d right hand he took wit d left c wat he did wit our telecoms he gav us MTN nd co but totally destroyed our NITEL c all d probs he escalated in the N/Delta c his protection of our democracy 4 8yrs but completely ruined the democratic process the list goes on and on.
The ascension of Goodluck shld not be credited to Obj but 1st to Yaradua for always insisting on following due process no matter how long it took and the perseverance of Goodluck.
I see you are hallucinating. That is why your "due process" presido found it easier to sign a 200 page document and grant a BBC interview but could not transmit a one-line letter to the national assembly that would empower his vice. He would rather have 150 million people rudderless for over 80 days.

Even in death I want YARASLOW impeached. The man don see us finish. May be na him papa win independence for Nigeria

Come to think of it, power was never with an able and competent person in the first place!!!
Nigeria is in shambles. . .
Power transfer from a clueless fella to another clueless fella. . .
Djibouti or Papua New Guinea dont even hand power to people who are not capable, Nigeria is a joke. . .Everything goes in the country!!! grin
This is surely not a question fit for this time. We are talking about how to stop a sick man and his family from holding the entire nation to ransom. Some of us are fairly confident though that Jonathan will be better than Yara WHATEVER.

reminds me of how OBJ was eating pounded yam with AUDU OGBE and misleading the gullible that the storm was over, when actually the plot to remove him had been sealed. Or is it that popular embrace OBJ gave okadigbo a few days before he was booted out?

Abeg there is nothing refreshing about this. I just hope there was no fracas in the first place and that all we heard were just plots by PDP to crack the AC wall. If not , then this temporary respite only affords both parties some leave to garner armaments for the final onslaught.
PoliticsRe: Fec Fall Apart: Akunyili Submits "yar'adua Step Down" Memo by naso2(m): 7:23pm On Feb 03, 2010
mikeansy:
I feel so sorry for Akunyili, instead of submitting this memo she should have resigned sighting family reasons as her excuse.

Nigeria is not worth dying for.
And how many people die for whatever is worth it? people die everyday in this country because of bad(non-existent) leadership  which finds expression in our infrastructure, health care ,   .   .  ,    So it is definitely not a case of Nigeria not worth dying for. She survived the assasins bullets  by whiskers on at least two occassions and that must have ingrained in her the fact that sometimes you damn all and do what has to be done.

We have always chided the FEC for not speaking up in the face of undeniable facts that our presido is not fit, and now we are busy talking about someone resigning and not standing up to be counted.

For this singular action(if true), I reckon that she has scoed an A+ as a minister.

For 72 days we are have been left rudderless and someone now speaks up. we should commend her abeg.

Nonsense. So our case don bad reach like this?

We seem to forget that this same shehata finished third in 2006 WC qualification series behind CIV and cameroon, . He also could not qualify for SA 2010. He is just an ANC specialist and nothing more.

Besides North Africans try to play like Europeans which is not necessarily what we need now. I will even vote that Amodu be retained instead of him.

Kanu should throw in the towel for God's sake, that man is old, just tell me, do you expect opponents to watch him throw passes without marking him out?
Anytime he's marked out, he becomes so clueless and useless and he's got no stamina to fight off charging opponents, Kanu's good no doubt, but Football has changed and his pace and strength can no longer cope with the change.
Do you still maintain this position after today's match?
