European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Bayern Munich Vs Man Utd [2-1] On Tues. 30th, March 2010 by naso2(m): 11:57am On Mar 30, 2010
As a chelsea fan, while I want Man U to qualify in the end, I want Bayern to beat them in this first leg, so that Man u will know that they still have so much to play for in the second leg.

This will be to Chelsea's advantage on saturday as their key players will either be rested or counselled by Fergi to tread the part of caution . In the end Chelsea wins 2-1 at OT.

The worst result for any chelsea fan tonight is a convincing win for Man U.
SportsRe: Why Did The Referee Cancel Stoichkov 'freekick'goal Nigeria Vs Bulgaria Usa 94? by naso2(m): 11:49am On Mar 30, 2010
Another twist is, I think (not sure) if a player decides to shoot an indirect kick like stoichkov did and he is lucky to have the ball hit any other player(even the opponent) before entrying the net, then it can be counted for a legitimate goal.

In stoichkov's case Rufai somehow got a finger on the ball, hence the goal should have counted.

Anyhow the way wey our boys dey para that day, we for still beat them.

Abeg forget that one. And who was not dazedshocked when without notice whatever was left of UMYA was flown into the country? So you expected her to say what in that circumstance? You think say Dora na spirit?

As a human being she sure would have envisaged the worst case scenario , that given the kind of interpretations people gave her actions , she was going to be the first hit of the Turai group.

Courage is what you do to forge ahead in spite of your fears. Dora was simply couragious . Amongst mortals no one is immuned to fear.
PoliticsRe: Senator Kanti Bello Attacks Akunyili At Screening by naso2(m): 9:30am On Mar 30, 2010
This Kanti Bello man is downright immature. His opening sentence whet my appetite but that was all. He just did not have a plan. I think this Northern opposition has been overrated thanks to skewed reports from The nation, dailytrust and daily independent and sometimes Obaigbena's Thisday.

How can a senator find it so difficult to intellectually ask a simple question. Lest i forget he is from Katsina (UMYA,Buhari). Na only vex dem sabi vex nothing more.

mikeansy: Those who critisize Dora are simply one of two categories

Either they have a very shallow understanding of how Politics should work or they are simply masking their intentions about the Yar'adua situation into something else.

Why can't people understand the difference between The Minister of Information (MOI) stating the position of the FEC in press conferences and a member of FEC who happens to be the MOI advising her colleagues about an issue of National Concern.

PoliticsRe: Jos Killings: Jonathan Is Weak – Chinua Achebe by naso2(m): 8:59am On Mar 30, 2010
Was OBJ weak too? what is happening now in Jos that is strange? When CAN confronted OBJ on the perceived inaction of Govt., Obj responded with the popular "CAN MY FOOT " phrase.

It is one thing to say the Govt may have made mistakes in handling the Jos crisis, but coming with a verdict that the Govt is weak, was way off for Chinua Achebe. He missed the point. The issues are far more complicated than he sees it.

To my mind this Jos crisis will only end when both parties see that in wars like this there are only losers-- No winners. When they take toll and see what they have lost and can potentially lose, then they will work out a peace formular.

For those exalting Achebe and soyinka  to some infallible height, I have to submit that being a literary genius does not confer political infallibility. Yes they have made their marks in literature but need to e cautious in the utterances about  Nigerian politics and for issues that have to do with religion and tribe. It is not as simple as the tend to paint it most times.

I personally dey diss soyinka because na him bring campus cult come this country.

Thank you my broda. Infact it beats me when people come with this senseless line that ND polticians can loot monies meant for the  good of the common man in the creeks. These posters are as criminal as sylva himself. A lot of us voiced our concerns when the man went looking for 100billion. Not knowing that it was meant for his pocket.OH GAWD. People like sylva should be roasted alive. It is as well extremely painful that behind the scenes he has an enlightened person as Edmond daukoru .

As a bayelsan I weep. WHERE ARE THE NARROW MINDS  THAT HAVE ALWAYS SAID DIVIDING THIS COUNTRY WILL SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS? Hope the north will adopt people like sylva?

Sylva is about the most unpopular governor in the country. To impeach him will be far easier than what a lot of people expect. GD SHOULD TAKE HIM OUT ASAP.

Seeing this list, I will just endure a bit to see how the portfolios will be allocated. Afterall to turn this country around we do not need more 5 top performing ministers in the very critical sectors.

Secondly as someone said, the PAC could actually be the body to be calling the shot while they just hand instructions down to the ministers.

And may be , just maybe some of the former ministers that we have deemed poor could just become better performers, afterall attitude is a reflection of leadership. A non-existent UMYA could have been the very incentive for non-performance. Now that the headship has changed maybe some of them will change if Jonathan drives them with the right targets.

Afterall in a football team , sometimes when you chang just the coach even a poor team member becomes a top performer. make we dey watch.

Dont be carried away by this Aganga's CV O. Nigerians are known for cooking up impressive resumes and when they get on the job, their performance fall  far short of the expectattions. Remember the impressive CV of TOM Isegohi of Transcorp and his awful performance?

The only thing I'm impressed with so far is the names that have been tipped to replace Farida. I mean Jega, Williams and Agbakoba. Now that Jega is a VC, I'm not very sure he wont have compromised the activism posture he demonstrated as ASUU president. If GJ can give any of these men INEC job, then he would be winning people's confidence.
There is nothing special about these people , being an activist or public commentator does not confer integrity . Is it the same Agbakoba that was busy defending the very very corrupt ORJI Uzor Kalu in court? how is he different from AONDAAKA?

marvix: I thought this was one of the landmark judgements of the land for which the Judiciary had received a lot of commendation, and where did Amaechi get the billions and now is working hard here in PH developing the state or is he not interested in recouping the cost incured in getting the judgements. If we have to get bizarre judgements for characters like Amaechi to have a space in our political arena then I am down with it.
What landmark did that judgement create?

It sure set a bad precedence in our judicial system. It was an affront on the electorate. The judgement simply was saying that even  goat can win an election and that to the Nigerian electorate it was simply the party that mattered.

And why do you think Ameachi couldnt  have raised the billions?

I  know a few people  applauded the judgement (for reasons best known to them) but much more people condemned it.

Arsenal fans  grin grin grin grin

Una sabi talk big talk no be small. what has this analysis got to do what the coming contest? What you need to find out is how arsenal performs against top opposition not relating it to an AC  Milan team that we all know was spent even before they were disgraced in 2008. .

How has Arsenal faired against top attacking oppositons even with this goal tally? How has arsenal performed against the big teams whose attack comparatively do not appear as lethal as Barca's?

Arsenal VS  livepool  (2-1 1-0) scored 3 conceeded 1

Arsenal VS man U  (1-2,1-3) scored 2 conceeded 5

Arsenal VS Chelsea (0-3, 0-2) scored 0 conceeded 5

So what are we talking about?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Champions League Draw! by naso2(m): 6:39pm On Mar 19, 2010
debosky: Kini big deal?

We were arguably more impressive than Barcelona in our second round tie, against a far more experienced CL participant like Porto. Even then, we lacked a number of our biggest guns who will hopefully be back for the Q-final games.

It's all about the football played on the match days not on the talk.

Milan was similarly the defending champions when we played them in 2008. . . it finished 2-0 on aggregate to the gunners.

We fear no one and will enjoy playing Barca.

Besides, if you want to WIN the trophy you must be prepared to play the best teams in the competition.
Well you need to talk up your team. An upset is still a possibility that is  football for you. But to be honest if you consider the style of play and effectiveness of the attack line of both teams, sincerely Arsenal hardly stand any chance.

I somehow feel Arsenal will be  able to scrap a 2-1 win in the first leg. Barca has not be really impresive in away ties by my reckoning.

But the question is , how will Arsenal survive Camp Nou especially the first 45 minutes?

I see you are very comfortable scratching the surface here. If you see nothing wrong in the different conferences, talks, dialogue etc,  . . . without actions that will positively affect  a people whose source of livelihood have been severely endangered then I have nothing else to say to you.

Find out when NDDB(Niger delta development boarc) was created. Do I have to tell you that people have been talking and just talk since then?

Or maybe I have to awaken you to the hundreds that die in the ND not knowing that their deaths are  occasioned by  environmental hazards brought upon them while the government and oil companies smile to the bank.

We have had enough talk and conferences. Let developmental projects begin. If this is too hard for you to comprehend madam, then sorry  i cant help you.

Blame your players not the coach. . . .  .injuries didn't help you guys too.
Ashley Cole and Essien woulda made the difference on a day. . . . much as i wanted you guys to win, the players and midfielders
were not on duty last nyte. . . . . needless to say they situ played in Mourinho's hands!!

prepare for next season. . . but pls when buying, mix the power players with some creative players and those with flair.
U guys have struggled against sides with power, pace and grit!!
The coach definitely was largely responsible. What on earth was anelka doing on the pitch? Why pull out a zirkov and force Malouda who was giving the attack some shape  back to defence? These were that things the led to the result being in inter's favour. Do you know the difference it would have made if the man just retained the first half team and replaced only Anelka with Kalou?

The injuries sure did us much arm, but we are talking about making the best use of the players available and understanding the opponent enough to make the changes that matter.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Vs Fc Internazionale [0 - 1] [Agg: 1 - 3] On Tuesday 16th March by naso2(m): 8:55am On Mar 17, 2010
Ancelloti simply cost us the match. When you play a team like inter with guys that can mark, you need to create attacking uncertainties to keep the opposing defence guessing. Kalou who was by my reckoning our best player after Ivanovic in the first leg was pulled out by Ancelloti for no reason.

For a good coach , Anelka should not have lasted 30 minutes on the pitch, aside the fact that he does not pose any threat to the opponents defense line, he is also a genius at slowing down attack.whenever he gets the ball, he romances it enough for the opponents to regroup.

Ancelloti should have known that he needed a player that can take on defenders, and Kalou(and may be Joe cole in the good old days) appears the only player in the attack line that can pose serious threat to opponents without depending on this lazy pass=pass football. With kalou introducing uncertainties in the attack, the policing of Drogba would not have been so tough the way it was last nite.

Ancelotti sometimes make Amodu look like a genius with his changes . He had no business taking ballack out, he simply should have taken out Anelka for KALOU and watch how inter would have been forced back to their shells.

Best of luck to Inter, Jose is like one of us, it makes the loss less painful.

abi wetin make i talk? abeg dont get me started. please.

At this stage should we still be talking about dialogue , and meetings without tangibles to bank on? I was against the amnesty scheme from the outset. But this government that says ND is one of  its priority projects have done NOTHING.

If the government says the guys are criminals then why put them on payroll ? what happens to the ND graduate who has been jobless since leaving school and have shunned every temptation to be violent? The package does not seem to address that becuase a guy like that is not on the list of any notorious gang. This was my argument against the amnesty stuff.

Now coming back to the issues, the core develomental challenges of the region still remain. What should be discussed that have not been discussed? what position paper is left that we already do not have? So I am presently against any committee, or conference etc, they are all for fancy. The core problems are still there untackled.

Do you know how much the state governments would have siphoned in the name of conferences to discuss ND and the way forward?

Abeg face front .
