PoliticsRe: 85% Of Diasporean Nigerians Are Crooks by natasha: 11:46am On Oct 27, 2010
i really dont see what the fuss is about. Every Job carried out by Nigerians in Diaspora are also been done by Nigerians in Nigeria so what is dis crookish accusation about?
Nigerians defraud fellow Nigerians IN nigeria
Nigerians sweep the streets in Lagos, Abuja
Nigerians wash dead bodies in motuaries and also at the village before burying their dead
Nigerians work as gatement/security men in banks, people's homes, the agberos that harrass people on the streets are, guess what NIGERIANS!!!!!
so mr invisible, this might come as a shock to you but every job you claim nigerians in diaspora do that are "demeaning to your status" are also done by some human beings in ur "heaven on earth" Nigeria by the same Nigerian NATIONALS.

Please i need facts and not stories, thank you.

For real, just communicate preferably in person. Initiate the conversation, and try not to be nasty cos you never know what tomorrow holds.

If it was you who wrote to the papers over 2 months ago and the article was published online for every soul to read why are you posting on Nairaland again? and u call me a busy body? I think u should read up on adverbs/adjectives before using them next time cos u sound like a lonely soul who's desperate for attention and pity.
NB - People have culled stories published from across and given credit to their source, you should take a cue and do that next time undecided
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Do I Get An Nysc Exemption Certificate by natasha(op): 1:04pm On Aug 09, 2010
Okija very funny but thank u. I do have a serious Long term Health Condition that is controlled with medication. However, it can be flare up when i'm exposed to certain triggers. Its a condition i've had since i was a kid and there's lots of medical reports to prove.
What i'm trying to understand is that do i have to accept deployment? cant i just be exempt after showing a medical report without been deployed and then seeking an exemption?

Jobs/VacanciesHow Do I Get An Nysc Exemption Certificate by natasha(op): 8:45am On Aug 09, 2010
Hi Everyone. Pls i want some reasonable info on how i can apply for an exemption certifcate from NYSC. I have lived most of my life in england. Had my Bachelors & Msc over there. I also have 5 years work experience in england. I am thinking of relocating to Nigeria and frankly DO NOT want to serve if i can avoid it.
So any ideas on how i can apply for exemption will be much appreciated. I already know i dont qualify on the age criteria as i'm barely 24 yrs and i understand u have to be 30 yrs to be exempted on age grounds.
RomanceRe: Buying Condoms? How Embarrassing by natasha: 11:20am On Jul 31, 2010
when i just got married in 2004, didnt have much knowledge on contraceptives and we werent planning on having babies immediately either. I walked into a pharmacy at Asokoro to get some condoms. They had all sorts from Gold Circle to what nots. The lady at the counter seemed embarrassed that i was asking for condoms but i was more than happy to flash my double rings in her face, Then a man, i believe was the manager walked upto me and began to describe the differences. eventually i opted for the one he recommended was better. I got home and told my hubby, never to allow me go shopping for condoms again.
FamilyRe: How To Avoid In-law's Problem - I Need Ideas / Tips On It by natasha: 4:01pm On Jul 16, 2010
dont LOVE them rather RESPECT them. Let everyone know their boundaries cos no matter how hard u try, you wont be able to please ALL ur inlaws.
Never argue with them NEVER, rather pull ur boo aside and explain ur side of the story, let him handle it.
finally, NEVER start battles you cant win (My mum told me this on my wedding day)

Been married 7 yrs with 1 child.

i dont know wat the big deal here is: 1st cousins, YES I MEAN FIRST COUSINS GET MARRIED IN THE NORTH; from where i come from in BENUE STATE 2ND cousins also get married; infact 2 of my aunties (who's kids are my agemates) are married to 2nd cousins that i know for a fact and 1 of my uncle is also married to my auntie who is also his cousin. I had a relationship with my cousin before we broke up and the whole family were aware we were getting our ''freak on'' so also some of my cousins.
My dear carry go, if u believe ur cousin is genuine why not- there's not much genuine guys around again - if u come from a culture or place in 9ja where there's no big deal in interfamily marriages, give it a go if not run 4- 40 before they lynch u like some nairalanders are tryin to.

RomanceRe: Never Knew Marriage Could Be This Boring by natasha: 11:15pm On Jun 12, 2008
havin a job is either goin to make u miss home or ''help'' u meet some random guy in the office who'll make u get d ''excitment'' u so desire; in the same vein havin a child at yr current state of mind, will only get things more complicated for u as that may b a reason 2 put up wit a borin marriage.
Thing is, i aint takin sides wit ur feelins nor wit ur marriage, only been real; i'm also married with a son, and there r times when i wish i wasnt but cannot walkout as i have my son to think off, but there r also times when my son gives me reasons to be glad that i am married.
the choice is urs. watever u want 2 do, think with ur head n heart not wit ur eyes, remember wat made u agree to the marriage - remember how u felt at times when u quarelled and felt heart broken ( if u neva had such feelings then u neva was in love), go back to basics, decide wat ur priorities in life are and make a choice u wont regret tomorrow.
good luck
FamilyHelp Me Get Over My Sister's Death by natasha(op): 10:15pm On Jun 12, 2008
hi every one, i need ur advise on how to go overcome my grief. i lost my elder sister in sept 06 ( 1 wk before her birthday) to liver cancer. it never hit home at the time though i was shocked as she was only diagnosed 4 wks earlier and we were advised by the GPs in EKO hospital that they were doing their best to treat her. Basically, she has nausea symptoms and was feeling generally unwell; she not been the sick type went to the hospital and was admitted the same day based on the advice of the Docs. Nobody really told me what was exactly wrong with her as i had put to bed 7 wks back and had neurological problems during labour hence my mum was here with me. She left me a day after and went back 2 9ja to see my sister but still hid the exact state of my sister health to me. Every time i called, i was told she was asleep so never got to speak with her, eventually i spoke with the Dr who just said my sister was very ill and would require specialist care hence i arranged for her to come over to england and had spoken with some private hospitals who had arranged bed spaces and everything necessary at the time. She died on the flight.
What hurts the most is that we used to be very close before her illness, and when i visited 9ja in Jan 06, she complained that since i got pregnant i had shunned herside which to some extent was true; i never apologised to her before i left nigeria and wasnt able to speak with her during her last days.
Now, i just feel so alone cos its like i dont have someone to talk to, my mum bless her has her own issues to deal with, my brothers will always be busy with their runs, my husband feels i should get over it as he thinks i've mourned her enough.
I really miss my sister and 'm sorry i wasnt there, i wish i could see her to apologise for my wrong, i 'm really hurting as i never went for her burial cos i was recieving physio treatments and still had other tests that were been carried out as i lost feelings on my legs during labour.
I've tried all i can to get over her death and still have this guilt that maybe there was something different i could've done that would have changed things.
I know that a million words would not bring her back, I know because I've tried, neither would a million tears, I know cos I've cried and 'm still cryin and its affecting my marriage cos i just fret if my husband says he has a headache and i begin to think of the worst possible scenario.
Truth is i never thought she'll die as she's never been the sick type and the fact that i wasnt there when she was ill makes me feel like i let her down. i've blamed her death on the Docs who were collecting money saying she was been treated when she never was as they gave up on her, i've blamed evil doers as its done in my village but i know thats just an excuse, i've also blamed myself which is all i can do.
please, i just need some words of advise to help me grief her, words to help me thats all 'm asking
FamilyRe: How To Divorce My Nigerian Husband? by natasha: 8:42pm On Jul 04, 2007
if u stop being PARANOID and FEELING INADEQUATE or INFERIOR ur marriage will last a lifetime. if ur felt he needed an NGOZIE as a wife, he'd have gone ahead to marry her as a first wife and probably u as a second wife. i'll suggest u speak to ur husband about areas he thinks he wants u to improve on and see how that goes.

CareerRe: Interview Question: 'What Time Are You Available To Start Work?' by natasha: 8:06am On May 02, 2007
here in the UK, u are allowed to give upto 3 months notice period before commencing a job with ur new employer. It's called a "notice period" to allow u prepare urself mentally and phsically for the job. It also allows u apply for a resignation from ur employer as most employers require 1 month notice. Besides u also need time to do some little research on ur new employers and have ur last minute travels and holidays consumed/spent cos u aint allowed to go on holidays (leave as it's called in 9ja) 4 the first 3 months when u resume work. Though the earliest u can be called to take up employment is a week after ur interview.

was at the saloon when he called and asked me to meet him at home, i got there n he wasn't in. so i walked ito the bedroom and lo and behold, the room was filled with fresh roses, lavender lit candles, a ring on the centre of the bed, a very massive custom made card with our pics by the side and the heading "HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY BABY", then another handmade card with the heading, make it a reality by being, my wife, the mother of my kids and my soulmate.
While gazing at the whole lot, he walked in and said i know what i have and feel for u is real, and i know will not just last but will be forever, make me a happier man and be my woman. y'all guess what i said and what happened after the.
Well that was 4 yrs ago, we've bn married 3 yrs now .

ur man might be going thru a lot right now and he probably wont want to say it all to u cos u wint understand. one thing i know for sure is,if u aint financially stable in the UK, u r in for a tough time, and only those in the circle know. it's not something that can be explained in detail, it can only be seen/experienced. But here's some consolation to u girl: 70% of the guys in my church here go back home (9ja) to marry their sweethearts.
Ur man might just be goin thru a phase in life, tryin to adjust to the stress and demands of life in the UK, esp if he's a student who's self sponsored.
My advise to u is to hold on, give him the benefit of doubt, besides be prayerful.
