I used a 2007 rio(same with accent a.c system) I sold it at over 250,000km on same compressor. The older brands are durable.
Okay. I thought as much cos that 06 is so strong and durable.

poor design across board. I have never seen any of them get to 100,000km any kia or hyundai with VDC variable displacement compressor.
I see. Is that the same type of compressor that comes with the 2014 Hyundai Accent? A friend drives the 2006 model and I think his own mileage should be higher. Will ask him.

GAZZUZZ:
How many miles did you cover in 1year? That compressor did not make it to 50,000km find out.
Well, I don't think I covered more than 15,000km. What's the issue with the compressor? Kindly elucidate.

Mumu A.C, the stupid design would have died out befor the car hits 50,000 KM VDC in general on hyundai/kia is a failure.

Crash test will be ok nah, see as the nose long like train grin

This vehicle comes in several variants. The V6, 2.4liter GDI and 2.4 liter fuel injection. There might be more but those are what I have seen. The fuel injection 2.4liter is repair friendly.

I beg to disagree. Hyundai is not a failure. I drove the Hyundai Accent 2014 model for at least a year and it was top notch. Even the 2006 model Accent is so strong and rugged. The Accent was regarded as one of the best sedans in its size category beating the Honda civic and Toyota yaris of the same year hands down. Hyundai vehicles are underated here. Moreover, I have driven a lot of Toyota s and Honda etc but funny enough, Hyundai gave me the best driving experience. The only thing I don't like about the recent versions is just the fibre plastic. Aside that, the vehicles are cool and does not deserve this kind of critism even though you may have your reservations.

well thats a negative. you have to be in full control of yourself at all times. you cant let your adrenaline guide you wink
I think it is easier said than done o. The only control is to always recite action plans. Like, if robbers come in here now, what will I do?( I do that a lot while I was a banker. Ours was a glass house so I could see through it well. I even practiced with an emergency exit that leads to one of the toilets severally. Any suspicious movement or the bang of dynamite at the door, me go tear race towards my action plan grin grin grin). If they do this, what should my response be? Role rehearsals is very important. I do that a lot even when I drive on the highway. If I hear a loud bang from outside, what should I do? If my tyre suddenly burst at 120, what will I do?......don't panick, no brakes, do this then this then that etc( I repeat the process severally in my mind). My point is role rehearsals help to limit adrenalin rush.

OK so many people replied me and I will not spam the thread replying everyone but hopefully everyone who replied me can read this. I say this not out of arrogance but out of FACTS. there is something about living abroad for a while that opens up all your faculties of reasoning. You think better than someone who has never left africa. now if i have never left africa, my sense of reasoning will probably be like that of the police officer and most of the people replying me. things we africans do are usually exagerrated and irrational. our actions and thoughts are irrational BUT we think it is normal because we dont know any other way. I would have done the same thing the officer did if I have never stepped out of nigeria because the thinking capacity is limited. having lived abroad and having a more expanded thinking facility, i see a car pull up, i am behind a cover of cement walls and the assailants have no cover at all. I am at an advantage ALL DAY EVERYDAY. I CANT LOSE with this level of advantage I have. all I have to do is preserve my life by making sure no one comes through that door and keep my gun aimed and ready to fire if anyone comes through. all the while i am calling for backup. IT IS NOT YOUR JOB TO TRY AND ENGAGE 4 ARMED ROBBERS AT COMBAT. THE BANK DOES NOT PAY YOU ENOUGH TO DO THAT. WHAT THEY PAY YOU FOR IS TO BE A DETERRENT AND IF IN ANY CASE YOU ARE AT AN ADVANTAGE THEN YOU CAN ENGAGE THE THIEVES IF IT IS ONLY ONE WHO IS UNARMED. SO BY DOING WHAT HE DID HE ENDANGERED THE LIFE OF EVERYBODY AROUND HIM BY TAKING ON 4 ARMED MEN AND GETTING THEM EVEN MORE AGITATED. point being ? they dont pay you enough to risk ya life for 50,000 naira a year.

The hideout is not secure because it can be riddled with bullets. So, he felt he needed a better hideout away from the known one hence the reason for scampering for safety first.

Speaking of targets, do they even do mandatory training in NPF?

Most of the rifles I see looks like they haven't been fired or cleaned in ages.

I know that there's mandatory shooting range certification here routinely. Fail and you'll be assigned a desk job until you pass.
Hmmmmm. Na wa o. I just saw the videos you shared and I was so amazed by the sharpness and readiness of the police officers. Despite the fact that, the police officer in the first video was gisting, he had mental awareness and alertness. He was monitoring what was going on and didn't even take him more than 2 seconds to get hold of his pistol and aim at the target. It is well!

You are right and it mimics what I had said earlier.

The LEO's woke up disadvantaged.

One or two of them should always be outside their post to observe and be aware.

I knew the black car was up to no good from the get-go and they should have focused on it. The first bad guy that came out with an AK should have been shot dead and then the driver nailed through the windscreen.
Exactly! The first set of shots to be fired by the police officers even missed target. They only got the black glass. If they had good position awareness and were battle ready, they would have riddled that car with bullets .

I don't know your experience with firearms but the perfect weapon for that scenario is actually a pistol.

A pistol is the first firearm to take to a close range fight due to accuracy, relatively low recoil, ease of transition from target to target, ease of concealment and ability to continue to return fire in tight quarters.
Yeah, I get but as you can see, the officer could not take a close range fight. He did not even know the nature or type of person in front of him. At that stage, trying to even look up to aim was going to have him dead immediately. All he wanted to do was to take cover before anything else and all these was due to poor situation awareness. So, yes! I agree that a pistol was the best weapon to use but there was no time. They were caught unawares. If you observe, in situations where pistols are usually used, the user is usually a bit calm and aware of his surroundings. Reverse was the case here.

a pistol would have been a better weapon in this senerio due to its accuracy and low recoil compared to that of the enemies AK-47..
That's true, it has a lower recoil velocity but at that moment, there was no chance to hold and point a pistol. The officers are badly trained. They didn't have a good situation awareness and everything happened so fast within 30 seconds or less so there was no time for pistol at all. Moreover, most police officers and soldiers lack the will and motivation. When I used to be a banker, I am usually surprised when I see a lot of people coming to purchase Army forms. Out of curiosity I usually ask each person why they want to join the army and 97% out of 100, I got the same answer of no job! Just to keep body and soul together. If you are not connected, you will be posted to the North. Smh.

my question is why did he leave the vantage point and cover of that room he was where he had an advantage ? he is brave but he is stupid also. RIP tho. he had the advantage when he was in that room and he had cover but he chose to run out and then got shot.

when he was in that room anyone who walks up to the room is at a disadvantage as you saw when the robber walked up to the room and got shot and killed by him.
You are very wrong bro. The hideout is not the type you stay in as he did not even have a clear view from there. Moreover, he gunned the first robber down while still panicking not like he saw him coming. It was just a rapid fire exchange that favoured him. After gunning the first one down, the second one came shooting randomly at the post and the bullets will most likely penetrate hence the reason for running out. As you can see, when he ran out, his gun was not even in auto run ( bad weapon). He only scampered for safety.
The only downside about the whole thing is that the police officers were not battle ready as they were not taking note of all the activities happening prior to that incident. The robbers did not even do a thorough review before coming. They did not come for the police officers first. The moment the first robber shot into the air, if the police officers were battle ready and alert, they would have turned the whole vehicle to scrap through bullets but they only fired a shot at the back window. The remainder of the robbers even had the guts to come out and hold weapons.
In conclusion,
1. The police officers are badly trained with respect to targets aiming.....too poor.
2. They were not battle ready and alert. Reminds me of those yeye police officers usually attached to first bank....they are usually on slippers and carrying the guns lazily.
3. The officers had bad weapons.
4.All officers were not supposed to be at the same place in one tiny room.....they were not strategically arranged.
The best thing the officer could have done was to run out. He was running towards the back of the bank but his speed couldn't have passed the velocity of the bullet and that was why he got shot by the second guy in the video .
RIP to the gallant officer.
