Mokason288:That Lagos has a high debt does not mean they don't generate more than many other states. There is a difference between the two. You can borrow to carry-out a project which your internal generated revenue can't help with as at that time. Then, a repayment plan is put in place based on the internally generated revenue. |
Acekidc4:He forgot that ISWAP, Boko Haram, Bandits, Fulani herdsmen also release videos on social media. This government is sick and very clueless. |
This same woman was responsible for our problem today. The presidential debate revealed how she wanted Buhari to become the president amongst several other candidates. |
plaindealer:I am not concerned whether twitter deleted Nnamdi Kanu's tweet or not. It is only sick, silly and shameful for a country or any individual to stoop so low as to comparing the tweet of a president to the tweet of an individual. If the government isn't okay with it, they should have also raised people like you to make complaints to twitter. Nigerians reported to twitter and twitter reviewed this and took actions against the president. So you know I don't belong to the same tribe or region as Nnamdi Kanu and don't subscribe to his toutish reasoning. In every sense, the president was wrong and absolutely wrong to have tweeted that way or even speak about war. What war has he raised against boko haram, fulani herdsmen and even banditry? Insecurity has been the worst under his administration and yet, no single tough statement to show that he is the commander in chief. Instead, we are hearing of how they want to sponsor repentant boko haram for education abroad and how the government funds boko haram in the name of negotiations. A government that can negotiate with terrorist but makes ridiculous statements against another region. Who is being hypocritical and duplicitous between the two of us? Face the matter objectively. Address the matter and not come up with wrong or biased view. |
CilicMarin:Can we avoid reasoning like this? The same way you see other platforms as alternatives to communication or freedom of expression is the same way the government can come up to ban them if they don't support the wrong practices of the government. Can we just be honest and fair to ourselves? Let's call a spade, a spade and stop giving titles to cow because of the beef we want to eat. Boko haram has been with us for years with many kidnapped, killed and some places in the North not safe anymore for movement. Imagine, the government saying farmers should have requested for permission before going to their farms. The man empowered with the control of all armed forces never for once spoke in the manner he spoke against the terrible act in South East. Is justice unfair? Have we lost our conscience? Irresponsible speech as you called it goes on every social media platform and is not restricted to twitter alone. Let's be enlightened here. If we are objective about this, it was Nigerians who reported the tweets of the president to those in charge of twitter and how it contradicts the terms and conditions binding the use of the platform. They investigated and found the complaints to be true and did the needful. Let me state here that the president is not the president of Nigerian tweets on twitter but like everyone and anybody who has an account on twitter and as such should go by the terms and conditions binding on this platform. Also, the president wasn't forced to be on this platform and the president also saw the terms and conditions before agreeing to be on this platforms. To go against their terms and conditions and at the same time try to stop other Nigerians from this freedom of communication is selfish, lawless and autocratic. |
There are fathers that are more caring than the mothers but most times, children love their mothers more due to the fact that the mothers conspire with the children in many cases against their fathers. The love and bond grows based on this. There are several instances to back this up but let's look at when the father says the child mustn't go out for now. The mother will meet the child and say go out but return by this time before your Dad comes. Also, in case where the child ask for N5000 for personal needs, the father out of overcoming several hurdles was able to raise N4,500 to support the child and then, pleads with the child to manage it. The mother will go behind him and give the child the N500 balance with the word - don't mind your Dad, he has the money but doesn't want to give you. The child will not consider the father who suffered to raise N4,500 but appreciate and cherish the mother who came up with the balance of N500. The conspiracy of the mothers with their children against their fathers make the love and bond stronger. |
I hope those who are supporting El Rufai saying he is right in treating civil servants wrongly can see why the politicians are our problem. I just don't understand how people reason at all. Politicians create the problem, the masses suffer its impact while the politicians enjoy the benefits. Yet, the masses who should call for the politicians to first downsize political appointments and also reduce all politicians salaries are the same people who support whatever politicians do. We really have a problem in this country. A big one. |
omohayek:This is a nonsensical response. Why place all on the masses when the same politicians caused the problems we face today? Leadership they say is by example, it should even start from the politicians first. NLC would have no reason to stage any protest if they see the government as being genuine by starting with themselves first before any measures on the masses even if it is 0.00005% of the population. |
ivolt:Chairman, there is no excuse for the state too. Haven't you read of how the Governors pressure FG to change policies just to gain more money to themselves? Also, shouldn't the politicians at state level plan for their states prior to these issues? How did Lagos become what it is today? Ask yourself this. There is no excuse for any politician either state or FG level. |
chrisblack:I like your response. How about the redundant politicians who don't do anything but occupy government positions and are collecting huge sums sufficient enough to pay over 30 workers monthly salary per politician? How about the state house of representative members who even when they don't sit claim the money for this and all sorts of evils happening amidst the politicians? Let's be honest, if you want to downsize, do this holistically. Include the politicians and we will know that he meant well. Who created the problems in the first instance, isn't it the politicians themselves? We should look at the issue holistically than taking a side to judge this matter. |
This article has a biased conclusion. If reducing the number of Civil servants is the solution, how about the redundant political office holders and also huge salaries paid to political office holders in the state? A single politician's salary per month including all those unnecessary and sick allowances can pay over 30 Civil servants' salaries. We are just not being honest in process as this. Politicians live large but the masses get to bear all the negative financial impacts from the government. |
OlawaleBammie:It won't solve the problem as the same fingers he used in blocking her is the same one he will use to unblock her especially if the phone or app keeps all records of blocked numbers. |
I really don't understand the concept behind this. Ladies dressed to showcase the old female style of dressing but for the guys, I don't understand why they have to dress as ladies. It's just sick seeing the guys dress this way. Nothing nice, fun-filled or memorable from the guys. |
Please, even with this new explanation does it not still involve Muritala Muhammad and other leaders. Is Muritala Muhammad not part of this? Lai Muhammad sha. |
I don't understand the use of 'storm' nowadays. They make it seem as if it is beyond just a visit or inspection of what's going on. |
143WaZoBia:Don't act as if you don't know this. It happens a lot. They even empty a full perfume on your head and you will be busy shouting from the pains of the perfume on the head. |
Kingk47:You shouldn't have typed this. It's sad |
NobleRace:See the accusations, when did I mention NIV? For your info, I don't read NIV. To have drawn this conclusion about me shows so much on you not being open to study again God's word but believe all you know is complete and absolute about God. No one can know God completely, ask Paul. Knowledge is progressive. Also, stop lifting a verse in isolation and then, give it a meaning of your own. I keep repeating this, the Author's intended meaning alone stands, not your opinion or personal view. Read the whole of Hebrew 7 start from the beginning and go to the end of that chapter. You will even notice that chapter 8 was a continuation of 7. Understand the focus of the Author - Salvation in the person of Christ who reigns forever against those who render sacrifices for one's salvation and yet, died. The writer has no argument on tithe. You created this for yourself. It is part of the greed of not letting go of this tithe thing that has made people to hold unto tithe because they feel people won't give again. The truth is this, teach people the right message on salvation and Christ and Him crucified and you will see them give beyond even 10%. The Scriptures made us realised that the people in Acts first gave their lives to Christ and as a respond to this, they saw their possessions as the Lord's. This was why they could sell all their possessions without any compulsion (Acts 2). Acts 4:32 shows a repetition repetition of Acts chapter 2. They first gave their lives to Christ and didn't see what they own as theirs. In response to the salvation, they sold what they had and brought the money before the Apostle. Do you know that if Ananias and Sapphira just brought a part of the money they had, they won't have died? It was the deceit in them that made them dead. Peter's response to what they did show plainly that there was no compulsion in bringing all the money before God. Back to our discussion, teach people salvation and not money as the Bible instructed and see how people will respond to the things of God. We have failed to emphasis on the place of Salvation and have placed so much attachment on tithe and giving without any concern about the giver's life whether he is saved or not. Do you know why energy is expended on pulpit when it comes to money? It's simply because the place of salvation is missing in the life of the congregation. I won't respond to any further accusations from you as I believe I have shown you better from the scriptures without any form of head knowledge in this. Scriptures is used to explain scriptures, verses in the scriptures are not to be lifted or read in isolation but to be read completely with previous verses and verses afterwards to understand the author's intended meaning. To read in isolation is to produce your own meaning. Just as when Jesus said the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent takes it by force, He never meant we are to be violent before God answers. This error came because this verse was read in isolation. Whereas Jesus was referring to John the Baptist here and how by violence he was arrested to silence the message of the kingdom and later killed. May we all make heaven on the last day and not focus on the things God Himself isn't concerned about. Our lives is what God is after first. |
NobleRace:Your final submission is wrong, check 2 Corinthians 9:5-7 to understand better. There is a place of checking within yourself to see if what you are giving truly honours God. Now, Hebrews 7 isn't about tithe and I keep correcting this. It is about two different priesthood and understanding the place of salvation. One collected tithe, does sacrifice for himself to be saved and for others to be saved. Yet, he being the priest still dies. On the other hand, one sacrificed His life once and for all for our salvation and He lives on to receive us all into salvation. To read Hebrews and place it on tithe is to get wrongly what the author wants us to understand about the priesthood of God and it lasting salvation. N.B: I want you to take your time to seek for the truth on this chapter and you will understand better. No one is trying to prove supremacy here. It is all about we just revealing Christ in all. |
NobleRace:Quoting the whole chapter does not mean tithe is the focus. Study Hebrews 7 deeply and ask God to reveal the intent of the author to you. Tithe was never the focus instead it is about our salvation that comes from the priest that never dies. This is the point. Please, don't paint God in a different light. It is well. |
NobleRace:That's why you need to read Hebrews 7 completely to understand the author's intended meaning alone and not lift a verse and give it a different meaning. The Author's intended meaning alone stands. If you dwelt on tithe you will miss what the author was driving at. Tithe wasn't the focus neither was it a teaching there but we having an eternal priest who cannot die and all can come to Him for salvation. |
NobleRace:Nobody don't twist Hebrew 7:8 to means this. Understand the author's intended meaning which point to death and not tithe. Christ reigns forever but for the earthly priests (who received tithe), they all died. God wants us to give to him now. This is why many could sell that they had (not 10%) and drop at the disciples' feet for needs to be met. This is why God now loves a cheerful giver and not cheerful tithe giver. Tithe has been exchanged for giving. |
NobleRace:Read your Bible. I quoted a Bible verse in my previous comment. Tell me if the Bible was wrong and you are right. We only speak from the Bible and not impose our thoughts on the Bible. So, if they were followers of Moses as you have said and they also had currency as a means of exchange (remember, the Bible says Jesus said give Ceasars what belongs to Ceasars. He did this after picking a coin), why then are we paying tithes of money? Remember, we also have crops. Did you noticed that Hebrews 7 talked about Abraham tithing spoils (goods returns)? There was no emphasis on Tithing from Abraham on money. Hebrews 7:8 which you just quoted didn't emphasise tithe. It emphasised death. The high priest which is the now Melchizedek and refers to Christ lives whereas the priest of then who collected tithe died. This is the author's intended meaning. It never upheld tithe |
AdakaBoro8:There is no far away land. To dwell on the new testament alone is to say God is same as yesterday. Grace spoke right from the Old, it only came into fullness in the new. We need to understand better the God of the Bible |
AdakaBoro8:There you go again, to separate the old from the new is to speak as though the God in the old is different from the new. We are to read the old and the new as the book of God. Here is what you should understand, the new does 3 things like I shared with someone else here under this topic. 1. Emphasises 2. Exchange 3. Elaborates No one brings into this law or its curse, as the new testament exchanges this with grace. Can I then enlighten you further? Grace has been speaking from the Old Testament. It didn't start from the new. Till we understand that grace has been in existence in the old before we understand better the God of the Bible. Read both testament and try establish its place in the new. This is the God of the Bible's intention. |
NobleRace:Jesus never emphasised that tithing should be collected. He told us that there are more important things than this. The new testament exchanges tithe for giving. Haba, why twist the Bible when we only speak when the Bible speaks and remain silent when the Bible does not speak? Show me what else the pharisees tithe outside mint, Cummins and anise. Please, show me from the Bible. Also, we need to understand the author's intended meaning alone and not place any meaning on the word of God just to suit ourselves. Hebrews 7 focuses on the imperfect priest and Christ, the high priest without a fault who does not need to sacrifice anything for himself first before that of others. Also, in sacrificing for others, he paid the price once and for all through His death. Hebrews tells us how the priest of the old needed to collect tithe because part of it is used as a sacrifice (Numbers 18:26-30). We use Bible to explain the Bible and not come up with personal opinions imposed on the Bible. Like I stated in the previous, it's expected of you to ask God for more insight. We are to honour God by our giving and this is done in proportion of the way we value Him. |
AdakaBoro8:So, who said he is partial? I think there is an issue here which you are not trying to accept. The same God who wanted King Hezekiah dead was the same God who granted his request to live another 15 years. The same God who wanted the Israelites to stay in Captivity was the same God who punished the countries who held them captive. Read Psalms 115:3 and Psalms 135:6 and tell me if you are the one who decides for God. |
36STATES:God permitted that the dead could be raised. If He wants to take His beloved home, no amount of prayers can retain such here on earth. Which emphasises that God has the final say. To come here and accuse a man of God as being a scammer or evil is to leave you to your conscience and to God. Let God be the judge. |
NobleRace:Don't also be misled. Take time to read the scriptures well. Also, I am not in support of whatever was written initially but want to provide you with a better understanding which is left for you to search the scriptures further. The New testament exist for the following: 1. Emphasis 2. Exchange 3. Elaborate Abraham you mentioned paid a tithe of the goods recovered and not what he owns or earns. Also, did you notice that it was just goods and nothing else? Jesus did not in anyway attest to paying tithe rather he accused them of tithing mint, anise and cummin but forget the MORE IMPORTANT which is to show justice, mercy and faith. Did you also noticed what the pharisees' tithe are? They are all plants (seeds). What the new testament came with was giving as an exchange to tithing. You are to give base on how you honour God. It could be 10, 20, 30, 40% or any amount you can. All these must be done based on the value you placed on God. Giving was an exchange to tithing. You will noticed this from what the Disciples did. The emphasis was on giving and never tithing anymore. Giving to God, to the needy, mission and God's servants are the respective forms of giving. |
bukatyne:Whether it was pre-recorded or not, he knows that death is not the end of a man as there is a place called heaven for God's people. God took Pastor Dare home. Now, to the instances you quoted on expressing sorrow as you have said, it didn't stop Jesus from fulfilling God's assignment over Lazarus and also in redemption work. No one is with Pastor Adeboye when he is with his family and can't say if he didn't grieve over this loss but it doesn't stop God's assignment. I know that this is a painful loss to him. When you read how some hymns were composed, you will understand what Christianity entails. Start with 'It is well with my soul'. We don't twist the scriptures for personal gains. |
Pruwa:Twisting the whole thing again. How has the update helped the case? Or are you referring to how they are accusing Princess on her part in this whole thing? They should have taken right steps and shouldn't have created noise on social media. |
Pruwa:I hope you read my comment well and understood what I was driving at. How did social media help that of Timi Dakolo's wife? What's the essence of noise as if Judges sit or pass judgement based on noise. Have you also seen why placing it on social media is having an effect on Princess being the girl's guardian? Or why did you think Princess had to release a statement through her lawyer over the said video? This case does not need noise. If you had listened to every sincere analyst on this matter and I meant lawyers and child right protection agents, you will understand better. Justice is not gotten through noise but taking the right steps |
