Sai One Nijeria is the only viable option. Left to your own devices, you people in the SS/SE will annihilate each other. |
If this deal is actualized, we'll have to declare Checkmate, unfortunately. |
houvest:Your leaders, superiors, and representatives have spoken: The Agitation for biafra is dead, deal with it! |
Becomrichn:My Yoruba friends have always claimed that the brightest Yoruba minds are from Abeokuta. They point to the fact that every Yorubaman that has ever ruled Nigeria hails from Abeokuta. Even Fela, argueably the most admired Nigerian to have ever lived, is from there. Buhari may know something that you don't know. ![]() |
Beaf:As it is now becoming customary, you are being disingenious. Constitution is basically the system of fundamental principles according to which a nation, state, corporation, or the like, is governed. In this case, Buhari is refering to the guiding principles for him and his fellow believers, he is obviously not referring to the Nigerian constitution. Olodo. |
johndoe200:For what its worth, one has put quotes like the above, allegedly from Buhari in context and perspective. The our in the statement above does not refer to all Nigerians, but to Buhari and others who share his faith. If Pastor Bakare states the following in his Church: "God is our objective; the Holy Bible is our constitution, Jesus is our Leader; Discipleship is our way", one would hope that Nigerians who are not Christians, would respect Bakare's right to his personal beliefs. You people need to grow up. |
The story is true. Akala is GEJ's right hand man who is supposed to deliver Oyo state to PDP in April. If Jonathan intervenes and find a way to get Akala back on track, it would be the last straw for me. Adedibu's curse (No Governor will rule Oyo for 2 consecutive terms) may still be very much active. ![]() |
Morality?? Are you even aware that there is no word like that in global economic maneuvers? Are you aware that China manipulates her currency? Is that moral? What about the war in Iraq? or the sanctions against Zimbabwe? Please, if you want to discuss policies and their impact on the polity, better do so and don't even mention morality again. I would rather prefer 'legal' or 'regulations' to 'moral'. And people don't just go to jail because you think they should. They go to jail when they are convicted. And Soludo attacked GEJ's government who has the means to investigate and jail him on the grounds of any of your imagined crimes if found guilty, but why have they not done that? Does it mean that somebody is not doing his job well?
I'm afraid you may have an issue with comprehension or you are ignorant of Soludo's alleged extra curricular activities. What I am talking about are allegations of criminally fraudulent activities of Soludo's. Go and read up, pal, I don't have much time to educate you on this. olodo In the Maintime Read This And This |
Ibime:GBAM!!! I will not be surprised if, given Soludo's support for Atiku, the EFCC has been unleashed on him, enabling Soludo to make a preemptive strike of his own - He can now cry witchhunt and revenge if EFCC raises any issue of his alleged criminal activities. Frankly the man belongs in jail along with Madam Ibru and Bode George. |
Beaf:You are not in a position to advice anyone about how to stand for anything. We know you are a GEJ supporter who is incapable of being objective when talking about GEJ and unable to constructively criticise his government, even when dullards can tell that such criticisms are in order. If this is how you stand for something and not float with the wind, I'm sorry you can shove your suggestion, I'm not interested. Regardless of how hard you try to dodge and change the subject, the points I made regarding Rhino.5dm's post remain very valid. Call me all the names you wish, my point remains valid. rakumin dajij. |
Beaf:I will not allow you to dodge a effective criticism of your likes by taking statements of mine out of context. Would you be willing to admit that Sule Lamido has lost credibility among the Northerners and his current pronouncements are simply not as effective as you are projecting? By the way, leave jason123 alone. Don't try to disarm him by attempting to belittle him, he is more intelligent than you are, olodo. |
SapeleGuy:We agree that we do not have progressives or reformers in PDP. I disagree that working from within means that you become permanently tarred and tainted, a candidate can work within the constructs of a viable party, just as Ribadu is currently doing but he has to ensure that he uses a very long spoon, when he eats rice with the likes of Tinubu. Once he gets the presidential power, the game would have changed for good. A person like Utomi or Ribadu will not rule Nigeria as anyone's puppet. Trust me on this. If you disagree, please tell us how else the likes of Utomi can become the president of Nigeria given the political realities on ground? Provide practical suggestions. |
personally i subscribe to what sule lamido said(am with him 100% if we can live as one, then its better we die as two). on no account we will be subjected to politics of religion and ethnicity. The average northern electorate has been abuse and his will subverted by few selfish political elites. But, in reality sule lamido is been view by an average northener as a traitor and thus, the truth he spoke will make no meaning to an average northerner. As a principal projector of OBJ third term ambition, he has since lost the last credibility from his people which was chakard by numerous Anti-north perceived statement he was continueing spewing as the minister of external affairs under OBJ. Point worthy of note here is, the masses were fully aware of his anti GEJ campagn and sudden u-turn after EFCC intorrigated his first son for whanton curroption charges as a sole beneficiary of contract in the state since the assumption of his father to power. NB. Pardon my so many mistake cos am on mobile.
Thanks for your instructive post. It simply exposes sycophants and GEJ goons, who project themselves as knowledgeable, as the ignorant people they really are. To them, any Northerner who vigorously supports GEJ, even if the reason is to protect himself from EFCC, deserves to be a Nigerian president in the future. wonders shall never end. mtcheeew! |
SapeleGuy:No one is advocating the rejection of Utomi. As a practical matter, his party cannot and will not win the presidential election this year. No amount of principled stance or moral imperative can change this fact. Until our constitution is changed or a revolution occurs, people like Utomi must learn to change the system from within, if you know what I mean, or they'll never become the president of Nigeria. gba be! While utomi is an intelligent guy, he is not smart enough to win the presidential election in Nigeria as a candidate for his current party. |
Beaf:War ko, sex bing ni. olodo. How about telling your uncle GEJ to put the country ahead of his political ambition, and arrest this situation immediately? |
sapeleguy: My broda in Egypt & Tunisia, you have military commanders (patriots) that will show restraint and not massacre their own people, in Nigeria the military would get bravery medals for killing dem mama and papa as Timaya would say.I don't believe the Nigerian millitary, who are under the authority of the president, will open fire on protesters, if the protesters come out in the numbers we are seeing in Egypt. PDP, CPC, ACN or what ever alphabets you want to use are all the same bunch of incompetent thieves. By accepting them as 'the reality / serious candidate' you lose the moral authority to criticise or hope for a revolution a la North Africa. We have to accept the political parties because they have been legitimized by our laws. All presidential aspirants have to present themselves through registered parties. Utomi must form a party that can compete with the leading parties, if he ever hopes to rule under the current dispensation. Its that simple. |
SapeleGuy:The revolutionary spirit we saw in Tunisia and currently seeing in Egypt seems a bit different from what obtains in Niger Delta. The faces of the revolution in Tunisia and Egypt are ordinary citizens, while those of the Niger Delta are those of thugs, oil bunkerers, and murderers. 99% of Nigerians actually support the cause of the ordinary Niger Deltans. These people along with the Almajiris of the North are the most marginalized Nigerians. We all should be ashamed for allowing their marginalization to continue without forcing the government to act, in the manner we are seeing in Tunisia and Egypt. I have no problem supporting a candidate such as Pat Utomi. I however do not believe in wasting my vote on a losing battle. Given the political realities in Nigeria, it is impossible for Utomi’s party to win the presidential election. Were a viable party to present Utomi as a candidate (Pres. or VP), I submit to you that the party would win in a landslide victory. Utomi understands this reality, yet he refuses to play the game – I thus believe that he is not a serious candidate. |
Why can't we have the type of revolution taking place in tunisia and Egypt, right here in Nigeria? Ribadu could be our very own ElBaradei. |
If the likes of onlytruth represent the best of minds of ndigbo, then I'm not surprised at the predicament the SE finds itself today. You people need to learn how to get along with yourselves, understand that well meaning folks amongst you can have very opposing views to yours, and that those views should be looked at, with an open mind. If you cannot unite, how can you begin to build necessary relationships with people of other regions. I'm afraid this poor human relations exhibited by the likes of onlytruth is why you may remain politically subservient to other regions. I attended an Igbo people's congress meeting in Houston a few years ago and was extremely disappointed at the way that the so-called leaders refused to listen to fresh ideas and shouted down very sensible youths. Onlytruth was probably the olodo with Ojukwu-type bear bear, doing the barbarian shout down. dan Iska. |
These leaders should go and hide their faces in shame. Their current demand shows that they neither believe in Nigeria nor in democracy and their actions reveal that the believe in rigging. GEJ went to the east and said to their faces that he (GEJ) is an Igbo man, none of these elders challenged him or made demands in the interest of the SE, of GEJ. This generation of these leaders have constantly destroyed our country since the 1960s. Their likes will soon disappear from the scene in a minimum of 15 - 20years. These destroyers hail not only from the SE, but from every region of the country. |
houvest:Where did you people get the idea that I am Shehu, for crying out loudly? So this is all about Igbo subversivism to you, ko? Wonders shall never end. leave me alone, you dis Abriba pikin. onye ara. I will leave you with the following text though I suspect that you are not a true Igbo boy: Egbe bere, ugo bere, nke si ibe ya ebena, nku kwa ya. |
houvest:houvest, you think you can bully me into posting in the manner that suits you alone? I thought you were smarter than that. Be advised that you just reported yourself to the authorities by stating that you will stalk me and derail my threads if they don't meet your insane standard. When that happens you'll be reported promptly. olodo |
@houvest, face the issue of the thread and stop this lame attempt to derail the thread. Same goes to you, Beaf (Emperor without clothes). Shehu ko, ologbama ni. |
Decryptor:abeg no break my ribs. ![]() |
houvest:You and many others like you are incapable or have great difficulty in discussing issues facing Nigeria through a prism other than a tribal, ethnic, or regional one. This ailment is so bad that many of you can never see anything wrong with politicians as long as the politicians are from your region. You have erroneously concluded that I have a feudal and imperialistic fulani agenda and that I am an advocate of a Buhari/Ribadu or North/SW Combo. It suffices to say that you are completely wrong on both counts, but I respect your opinion nontheless. I reserve the right to comment on any issue regardless of what you tribal bigots may think. As for the Ole n tel'Alfa, Mallam Beef, the day you can name a single fault of GEJ's, will be the day that pigs will fly through Ughelli. houvest, carry ya wahala go, I will not vote for PDP no matter how angry you become, call me all the names you wish. The issue is about Nigeria for me and not some tribal interest. olodo |
Katsumoto:I completely agree with your opinion. A ticket such as Ribadu/Okonjo-Iweala may be the winning combination for this coalition. I suspect that, like Azikwe, Buhari will put his personal interest ahead of national interest and refuse to step down for Ribadu - thus my advance congratulations were offered to GEJ for winning the election. @dayokanu, Okonjo could switch to ACN faster than Autie Dora made her switch. Ideally, Buhari would throw his support and weight behind Ribadu. |
Are you people idolizing and glorfying these dispicable criinal activities? Do you know home many lives were ruined, including those of Nigerians by the identity thefts and financial crimes perpetrated by these low lifes? I hope they are caught and subsequently stoned. Barawo banza. |
@houvest, only bigots, intellectual midgets and dummies think that thoughts of Nigerians shold always along tribal or ethnic lines. Does being a progressive or nationalist mean anything to you? And what does fulani name have to do with anything? olodo @Eko Ile, you don't get it,do you? Funny guy, OK ma binu ![]() |
Eko Ile:Awon wo ni "you people"? abi o mu oti yo ni? Carry your bigotry out of here jor. Ode Iddo |
Sapeleguy: Exactly my brother. That is why I am a little irritated by these cyber ethnic warriors that are waging online jihad.I see that you refer to anyone with views contrary to yours as a jihadist? People from you own region who see things differently are jihadist even if they are Christians, ko? Tone down on the bias, pal. wesley80: @sapeleguy,You expect your people to honour an unwritten rule of rotation in the governorship of Delta state, ko? Let me remind you that your very own GEJ who became a President because of rotation, shunned that rotation scheme. Don’t expect governorship to move to Delta North anytime soon.
What I find funny is that people are prepared to turn a blind eye, just because they hope the Governorship will come to their place. Typical reason why Nigeria is the way it is. I do not accept that arguement no matter who tables it. By the truth I stand, even if it means naming those responsible, and if you dont like it Wesley80, to hell with you. Uduaghan, Ibori, and thier cohorts have destroyed that state
A refreshing and honest post - this is the kind of attitude we need across the country. |
@jason123, it appeas that all the potential and viable VP candidates from the SW are moslems,e.g. Tinubu and Fashola. Buhari/Tinubu or Buhari/Fashola ticket is not tenable. Who are the possble VP candidates from the SW in your view? |
jason123:One must never underestimate GEJ's resolve to win this election. He may actually get more votes in the North than most people may expect - every vote matters including the ones APGA can deliver. |
