You can also buy FGN Bond through a primary market auction. The minimum for this is N100,000,000.00 .

The Q4:2019 schedule is also attached and the next auction is slated for 20-Nov-2019.

I made enquiry from afrinvest and above was what they sent to me. pls can someone clarify difference between coupon and yield. assuming i put in 500,000 at a coupon of 16.29% and a yield of 12.46% for 2yrs. what will be my yearly interest payment and at the maturity, will the capital still be N500k?.

Thanks.
Family / Re: I'm Struggling With Love In My Marriage by needful: 6:06pm On Nov 07, 2019
Nigerian marriages lack love and companionship, i almost accepted that norm of no love nor companionship until i left this surrounding only to discovered that people love and cherish
themselves until death apart them. Nigerian marriage is all about having kids and money which is the reason why men marry solely to have children while running outside to keep a side chick and women now divert every attention to their children thereby influencing most of their decisions even at adult age. women having know that there is nothing like love and companionship from their male counter parts, now attached a condition called money which is tagged "no money no love" because even if they marry the man as a poor man, the moment he becomes rich, side chick will become the order of the day. @Ops, i vividly understood naija marriage very well. the only solution is to find out what makes u happy and continue to do it because, even if u leave him to marry another, samething will be there. Also note that, why u are crying for love, he will be somewhere enjoying himself. do not live and die of depression, do what makes u happy, if u have enough money, take a vacation and have a nice quiet moment.

Trust this mail meets you well.

By now I am sure you have heard the news of the new CBN directive to banks restricting the sales of OMO to DOMESTIC Corporates and Individuals but just in case you haven’t heard below is a summary of the directive.

Effective today, October 23rd, 2019, the Central Bank of Nigeria directs that individuals and local corporates are specifically excluded from investing in Open market Operations (OMO auctions). Therefore, your participation at the auctions should be on proprietary and non-proprietary basis without these class of investors.

Implication.

You can’t participate in OMO primary or secondary auctions any longer.

As odd as that may sound that’s the current reality but we have good news, you can still enjoy similar benefits by investing in primary and secondary Treasury Bill auction through us.

You can also take advantage of the competitive interest rate that our Afrinvest income Portfolio offers.

AFRINVEST PLUTUS (MONEY MARKET) FUND

The Afrinvest Plutus Fund (“the Fund”) is a money market fund that enables all categories of income earners to invest in low-risk, short-term, and highly liquid securities such as Treasury Bills, Commercial Papers, Bankers’ Acceptance and Certificate of Deposits, among others. The Fund is an open-ended Unit Trust Scheme approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), that offers unit holders a diversified portfolio of quality assets. You can invest in the Fund with an initial sum of N5,000 (50 units), with subsequent multiples of 50 units thereafter.

AFRINVEST INCOME PORTFOLIO

The Afrinvest Income portfolio is a short-term investment product that offers competitive return on capital and invests in fixed income and money market instruments like commercial papers, Bankers' Acceptances, and other secured interest-earning products.

The near cash nature of its underlying assets ensures that investors' fund is liquid and at the same time profitable.

This product is suitable for risk-averse investors who desire value appreciation with minimal exposure to losses and unstable market conditions

Both CBN and reporters are confused set of people.

Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) Tweeted:
@masterofdisrupt -CBN has not stopped treasury bills sales to individuals
-CBN has stopped individuals & local corporates from participating in its Open Market Operations (OMO) treasurys liquidity management

The insurance company is not father chrismas, they are there to make profit. Do you know what they do ?

They estimate the chances and rate of an accident occurring, they calculate expected loss PA for each customer category and bill you higher.

For example if ur expected loss per month is 5k they will bill you 6k. Effectively they are recovering what ever they paid you plus profit over time. In short, you pay more over a longer period.

If you can absorb shock it is always better not to insure.

By d way, if you keep having accidents they will revise ur premium upwards why is that?

Insurance is a pool of risk whereby the fortunate helps the unfortunate. They only estimate the risk involved and bill u according to that but then, that is only estimation as unforeseen circumstances will always take precedence. No matter how u see it, is good to have insurance coverage and is not a waste of money.

I did mine with stanbic today...coupon payments will be every April and October till 2037...

Ask your bank for advice on most FGN BONDS....

That is what am going to do now.

Is there any other bond apart from savings bond
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by needful: 12:41pm On Nov 04, 2019
Fellow investors, FG savings bond is on from today till 8th of Nov, rate for 3yrs tenor is 11.29%. Is better to secure ur hard earned money than venturing into one get rich quick scheme that will eventually drain ur capital and bring u back to square zero. Do not be discouraged, do not waste ur money before NTB will normalize.

My two cent though.

So does it mean investors are completely at the mercy of CBN? This porating subscribtions is not nice. They should either say the maximum amount one can invest or return complete money if it’s not successful. In fact CBN should just suspect tbills till they are ready for business again!

That is my point. Permit me to mention figure, I already calculated 12% of 30m which will be around 3.6m to offset my Bills abroad. U can imagine one yeye bank abi cbn deducting only 10m, the interest will be useless to me. So is better they return the money so I will explore other avenues or options. Am not just in support of that prorating.

Cos I don't understand what is happening with this NTB .

I applied on Monday for wednesdays auctions(primary market) , face value 10m...

Just now,i got debited 3.6m(instead of 8.8m). I immediattely called my account officer and she said the primary market kiini was PRORATED. Less than 50% was taken from every investor..

I have never experienced a thing like this before.

Any ideas.

That is arrant nonsense. What right have they to prorate ur money in such a useless form. Are they not supposed to get ur consent before such?. Thanks for letting us know as am going to categorically state it, if the bid wont accept all my money then return it. Simple
