Na you wan spend money na. When you are very conservative with money like myself, when you've grown with a mother that is akagum in the highest level possible, you will learn by force to avoid spending even 5 Naira unnecessarily lol. Anyways, I opened GTB, Zenith, StanBic, and First from Canada and I didn't spend shi shi wink you can print a picture of your passport and have it notarized at your bank, freee of charge lol . You can even have your document notarized in court, for free, IF YOU ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

Am also in Canada, I want to open in stanbic too. But notarization is holding it. Abeg which bank and court did it free for you. My lawyer here is charging me $70 for 3docs. But am still waiting to see if I could get it done for free.

The SUKUK bond is not monthly. It's once a year. As soon as the content of the 2019 budget is unwrapped layer by layer, we will get an early signal. However, the yearly SUKUK sale may not happen in the months of March, June, September and December this year because of coupons cycle. Look out for months outside of these or watch this space for early information. This is for the lockdown guys. I must tell you that it's extremely easy to sell it on the exchange but difficult to buy as most holders are adamant to sell including me.

Where and which channel do you use to buy urs.

As many people aspire to travel abroad, I am dying to come back home. For someone who was born and raised in Nigeria, there is no place like home. My goal is to make sure my family is well established here, children finish their college education and become independent, then my wife and I will be relocating back to motherland. I have no plans to bring my profits from Nigeria to the U.S, in fact I plan to sell my house in America once I finish paying off the mortgage, put some cash away for my children and relocate the remaining cash to Nigeria.

My people, I am only in America because of the many great things we enjoy here which are lacking in Nigeria, but with enough cash flow and smart investment, life is good in Nigeria. Look at the likes of Dangote, E-Money, Ayiri, Chief Okeowo, and many more; their children may be living abroad for a better education, but once they're done schooling, they're encouraged to return home and manage their parents' businesses...it may not be true for all, but that's what most of them do. Yes, they have real estate outside Nigeria and offshore accounts, but these Nigerian billionaires will never abandon Nigeria and move their profits elsewhere ..as opportunists, they understand the system, and ultimately know how to use it to their own advantage.

To answer your question, I won't relocate my TB profits to a foreign country. As a business owner, my income varies, so I have drawn out a plan to ensure that at least N1m gets transferred to my Nigerian account every month, upon taking care of my mortgage and other monthly expenses. That's how I structure my life here....someone else may beg to differ, and I respect that!

My brother, I do not know you. But u have sense like your father. I wonder why people always talk about foreign exchange this and that. I live in America too, my investment there is my house, I do not keep money in that country because of their excess scrutiny. my money comes to naija because that is where am gonna retire to.

We're on the same line...You're my kind of person! I'm a female, 37 year old now with 54 million in ntb and a property worth 70 million am planning to retire by the time am 40 years old by God's grace. I thank God for all he has done for me. I started working at the age of 17y and i got a part time admission to study business administration and left Nigeria to uk @the age of 20y after my OND. Because my aim was to break the backbone of poverty without using my body. Luckily for me, i was able to get a 9am-4pm retail job few weeks after i arrived and later got an additional cleaning job part time of 5pm-7pm mon-fri and pękę job on Saturday. I have only Sundays to rest after church services, i was able to build a rented apartment at age of 24y and rented all out and i have been diversifying my investment with the help of God on my side. Now, am married with kids, i could not work like i used to because of my kids but i have my hard earn money working for me.
This is not to show off but to motivate young ones out there, that you can be anything if you want only if you set your mind at it. And to change the mindset of some people who always think only their body can get them what they want. Hell no! Ohun ti a ko ba jiya fun kin pę lòwó, ohun ti a ba sisę fun lohun pę lòwó èni...ma'fowuro sere òremi, isé ni afin déni giga. To my fellow investors, i wish you all the best, ori olori oni ko'ere ise wa ooo. Amin!

Congrats ma, we are in the same boat. Am 34 with 27m and over 40Milion asset in naija and over $400000 worth of asset in Canada, as a female, I started my life very very early because I do not believe in waiting for a man to give me a life. So I fought for my life. Am married now with kids and comfortably living in Canada and still in school studying nursing. Am hoping to retire at 55yrs old because making money is my hobby, I just love it. To the younger ones out there, set your target and purse it. Do not allow negative minds into your company of association. If you are a female, disassociate yourself from those who will come and tell u that you are nothing without a man, if you are a man, disassociate yourself from those who will come and tell you to marry at 22 as it is good to start family early. Be focused and all those things shall be added unto u. I didnt even know when I got married, while i was busy preparing myself, I never knew someone is out there monitoring every footstep of mine. What am I trying to say, the right hubby and wife will come at the right time.

Fisher007:
I have come to realise that the amount of immoral married people is on the rise lately and it is worse or more than cheating couples in relationship.

This which I think boils down to the foundation of the relationship before marriage.

Even dating is like a mind game to most people. The girl opportunistically dating for a reason. The boy just been controlled by sex thinking it is love.

Now after playing around for years without creating a genuine relationship with anyone.

Age comes in and either the lady will marry any guy that present marriage to her immediately and still be fvcking outside. Like the example above to the extent in an uncompleted building.

Or the guy will go and look for a virgin (most nairaland guy's mentality) with no moral. Thinking he has made the right choice, until the truth will hit him after years in marriage that it is not by virginity that defines a compatible good wife.

Abeg for the male out there, just go redpill + mgtow+alphamale and stay on your purpose together.

For female go feminist and build your career to sustain yourself in case he messes up abeg.

The world is too big to be bother by a cheating spouse.

Psssh let me come and be going Jo.

The only reasonable comment here so far. Abeg chop knuckle

@Cococandy, I choosed to mention you because u vividly understood the concept. I live in Canada and the truth is 70% of naija men needs brain resetting. A man will immigrate to Canada with his family, pushed the wife to go and do RN against her wish, he still wants the RN with about 3children and 12hrs shift to come back and serve his hands and foot. Is this not insane?, i dont really understand the basis upon which marriage is constituted. marriage especially Nigeria men. What I see in most of this naija men are selfishness,. Alot of peaceful families are divorcing because the man wants the wife to work full time, pay half of the Bill's and still serve him and the children. The moment you men understand that women are humans created by God as God created you people, marital issues will disappear.
To all this ones shouting my property this and that, which property do u even own, is it the one u mortgaged to pay for 25 to 30yrs? Or another one. I trained my wife in school, with whose money. Can any of you even train somebody in school single handedly without Govt loan? Mtcheww, confused Hypocrites.
And for the this olosho poster looking for a woman to enslave, continue and am sure u will find one when u are 75yrs old. Nonsense

Haaha, I see! Noise kwa?
Your family has a history of "low quality" men
who cannot stand on their two feet (even if you use their third leg to prop them up) and always depend on their wife for survival.
I suggest you train your male children to be 'real men' instead of becoming some asswipe dad and husband like you had.

I have dashed my wife a new Jeep in the past, as a birthday gift just from the blues. the only thing she saw was the keyfob presented to her. Please go and divorce that your useless husband who cannot build a house except by community effort, and collect your contribution sharp sharp before he married another one that would divide the whole thing into four quarters
grin grin grin

You live around lazy women and that is why you are dashing her a car. You cant even dash me a car because I will be riding more model than yours. People behave and react according to the training they got. Kudos to my dad who empowered all his children Male and female included. My kind of a woman wont even look at u not to talk about your wealth but you will look for a way to poison me in order to acquire my wealth because am obviously going to be richer than you. Do you think is every woman that look up to a man for his wealth. Let me even ask u one question, why are men of this days always looking for a hard working lady to marry, can u answer the question?. Woman like me married just prepared for any situation that might come up. If na divorce, I dont even care because my finance and asset will take care of me and my children. I won't even look up to for children upkeep. Be careful mr man, not all women sit down they and look. All this bank managers and top official ladies i see in naija, are u telling me that they still depend on their hubby for livelihood or vice versa?

Lots of women out there myself inclusive. Because we don't broadcast it it whoever cares to listen, you think men are solely responsible for their wives upkeep. There's hardly a home where the wife doesn't bring something to the table.

When my dad was building his house, it was my mum that took charge of the home expenses including our school fees (apart from contributing a third of what was used to buy the land). Likewise myself and my sisters. When my husband was offsetting the loan he used in completing his house, I didn't mind bearing the family expenses. My sisters contributed immensely towards their husbands' building projects. I can bet there are thousands of women out there doing this but are not making noise about it. Perhaps the ones around you don't help out their husband financially, that's why it's strange to you.
I am forced to write due to ur comment. Women like me who single handedly built a house we are leaving in should really end the marriage with all the comments I read here. How many men are taking care of women. Wait let me tell u people what u dont know, any man who couldn't acquire asset before marriage obviously has no asset for any asset acquired after marriage is a total joint effort. Myself and hubby has alot of asset and it was contributed 50;50. But I started buying my own asset when I noticed that if i give him money to buy, he buys on his name alone, meaning that he knew what he was doing. I just lie low and started buying properties on my name alone. Most of this men are hilarious infact. I was still the one who secretly wrote all the language test, prepare permanent resident Visa and everyone went to Canada. Most of men just come out here and be shouting property this and that, even when 80% of you totally depend on a woman for life increase. Nawaooo. Marriage for naija, I dey come

man, you can't be comparing tbills with business. Everyone can't be salary earner. You must make money somewhere to invest in tbills.

In business, The risk is high but so is the interest when it's successful. There are people who have made billions of Naira in real estate. There are also people who are still bitting their finger after losing big time!

If you tell some business men to come put their millions in tbills and get 15% yearly, they might insult you because that same money fetch them upto 200% pure profit! in their business.

Why did you think kidnapper like Evans targeted business men? And some of them paid upto $1.5m before they were set free.

Buying a land in a developed place is always at risk because u dont even know if u are buying already sold lands or new land and pls dont tell me to buy with a lawyer because those lawyers are also looking for a case to make money off u.

You are even lucky, I bought one not knowing it was in dispute between two communities , it's abt 5yrs now the bush has become thicker and the price the same as i bought it cos no one goes close to that area. My only hope to sell with a profit is if I find a total novice like I was back then.

Land business is speculation.

Your own is even better that they are pricing the same amount that you bought it. I bought a land for my brother who is in Senegal in 2013 for 1.3m and also bought land of my own in that same area, when my brother wanted to relocate to Germany, hmmmmm, it was a mess, we couldn't even see a buyer for 800k. This is now 2019 and yet we couldn't still get a buyer for ordinary 1m.

There was a place I bought at owerri for 10m in 2017 and as I speak, I hav got a buyer for 15m even though I didnt wanna sell. Land biz na 50:50 thing

Provinces like Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Ontario will nominate you if u fall within their required occupation in demand. I forgot to add Saskachewan. Moving to Canada is the best thing ever. Best decision for me so far. Alot of jobs, peace of mind etc. Plus you will make money if you have an eye for a biz.

The truth of the matter is, society placed alot of burden on women. I thank God that my girls aren't gonna be raised in that environment. Women this and that, the aspect that pains me so much, is the fact that a woman who only bears xx chromosomes will give birth to girls and the same man who bears Xy chromosomes will still crucify her for giving birth to female children. Nigerian men get wahala seriously. This is the aspect that usually blow my head. No doubt that men enjoys the marriage more than women infact. U marry, wahala because u are afraid of not giving birth to only female children because if it happens, that ur husband will quickly go outside and start impregnating anything on skirt. You no marry, that one na war from the societal pressure.

Family / Re: Why Is It Important For A Woman To Be Financially Independent Before Marriage? by needful: 8:04pm On Feb 09, 2019
For me, in a country like Nigeria where women are treated anyhow by men.....a woman need to be financially buoyant before and after marriage so as to be able to withstand some men's Ego. 98% of men in Nigeria are always happy to see a woman suffer in the name of submission and that is why they get afraid of marrying the independent rich ladies. Most men doesnt want to see 1 naira in their womens hands, they just want u to be helpless so that they can bring their girl friends even on that ur matrimonial bed. Men hate to see a woman flourish if eventually there was a divorce situation. So because of all this, I prepared very wel financially before I got married and my man eventually is not that type of men who sees women as nothing but object of sexual satisfaction.

This is not entirely true, some celebrity has different ways by which they make there money, last week a friend of mine made over 25m off cinemas and she's also into other business which brings millions into her account every month. legit business like selling human hair and co. if you cannot use your celebrity status to make money then you a fool. imagine you selling something of $1 to 100 people everyday, that's $100k every single day. if you're popular you will sell, cuz your fans are ready to have anything you told them to get, simple!

I am really tired of Nigerian mentality. You made a good point. Why is it that when a woman is successful in life, Nigerians sees them as prostitute. Nawaooo,. For instance, I have a celebrity in Canada where I live, making billions of dollars because of her popularity. She even linked me up and helped me made some naira thru her popularity. One idiot will be in Nigeria now categorizing her as a prostitute. May God help you people honestly.

It is not safer walking into banks either. I have put this to test. I was at the bank with my girlfriend to withdraw money. I gave her the withdrawal slip to see if they would flag her as a fraud. Can you believe that babe handed them the slip and they handed her six hundred thousand Naira. If you ask me, you're more likely to forge my signature and walk out of a bank with my money, than to get into my email or online banking. In fact, long story short, email/internet banking is safer. #DontArgueWithMe wink

My brother, I totally agree with u. When I was working as an accountant in Nigeria, I noticed what you said. Its 100 percent bitter truth. Now I live abroad, I do my things online via diaspora acct. No issue, I was with gtb at first, the acct officer wasnt responding well so I quickly opened another with first bank and everything is working perfectly well. I even call them from here and ask what is available if I want secondary market or fill form and submit for primary mkt.

So you are comparing unstable Canadian dollars with stable Naira/USD for the past 2 years. You are better off hedging your CAD in Naira considering the volatility in CAD. In 2012, CAD was stronger than USD and fast forward to today. 1 USD is now 1.32CAD. CAD has lost more than 32% since i started tracking it from 2012. I hope you are not surprised for such depreciation in CAD, imagine Brent crude that is selling for 59.92 USD while Western Canadian Select, WCS was selling for 33.93 USD. Infact, 3 months ago, it went as low as 8 USD coupled with the fact that, Canadian economy depends on US economy.

My dear, I don't wanna argue with you because I do not know how to argue. But pls, for ur info, Canadian dollar has never ever been stronger than usd. And to further elaborate my point. In 2016, usd was way over 400 per naira, as at 2017 and 2018, it came down to 350 to 360 etc. Where are all of u predicting it to get to 1000 by now. I repeat, u cant use present info to predict future because forex market is full of fluctuations. My 2cent though.
