FUGAZ,

First bank, UBA, GTB, access bank and Zenith Bank, control over 70% of the transactions and profitability in the Nigerian banking sector.

The following tier 2 banks Stanbic IBTC, Fcmb and Fidelity are worthy of consideration.

Nigerian banks have mastered the art and science of making money in Nigeria and some are now making money in Africa. They make money whether the country is in recession or not.

I will advise you tread gently with Access, until you get the audited half year financial report, I want to believe a lot of toxic debts were inherited from diamond bank.

Apt. U nailed it sir, even though I reserved those banks u mentioned, to see if it will be mentioned in your statement but u still mention them. It shows u are simply the master of this game. Thumbs up sir.

Saving of money and investing it in treasury bills is the starting point, there is this confidence and peace of mind that comes with being highly liquid. You are in a position to harness opportunities as they come.

Oga what will u say about bank shares like UBA, Access Bank GTB and zenith. Currently access bank has been busy acquiring most of the banks.

Lol for those that hates to take risk. Am currently sourcing for fund to buy 1m units of zenith I will get net dividend of 2.250m *17ys that is about 38m no capital appreciation is inclusive, no reinvesting inclusive. Just know the right time to enter and exit

Oga. 1m unit of zenith bank stock will be close to N19m, assuming u receive a dividend of 2..250m for 17yrs. U will be making close to 35m. Now, what is the assurance that ur zenith bank stock wont fall to 5naira in 17yrs time with the way they manipulate stock market. What is ur assurance that zenith bank wont be bought over by another bank in the next 17yrs to come, what is ur assurance that zenith bank stock will increase in order to give u capital appreciation. As far as am concerned, stock is never a good way of capital appreciation. Remember u will pay tax on ur dividend, pay brokers fees every yr also. Etc

Foolish lazy man.
He abandons the woman and beats her up,tearing her clothes to shreds and destroys her things .why won't she find solace elsewhere?
There were some loving arms somewhere else and she fell into their embrace.I don't even blame her.
I bet you he was also cheating on her.
Thank God she has enough common sense to file for divorce before he kills her

One funny thing about this men is that, they are all hypocrites. I wish all women will be cheating like that when they are maltreated. It pains men to see women cheat but they classified themselves as having right to change soup as they want. That is why I like America, u cheat in secret and I cheat on a broad day light. 99% of men in Nigeria are chronic cheaters, why are u guys pained so much that a neglected wive found herself a solace in someone else. Nonsense

I never knew there are landed properties worth millions of dollars in Owerri, I learn every day o.

By the way, if I had 12 million USDs, i would simply invest it in the USA in a robust S&P 500 index fund at annual return of 7%, and live happily for the rest of my days.

Typo error. Is 12m oga, replace $ with N. We that live outside for long are used to our currency there

[quote author=condomuser post=80536366]Gone are the days when they tell you "Land keeps appreciating", the insecurity in naija doesn't allow for lots of diversity in landed properties today. It is better to buy property in a choice location with COfO at reasonable price than go and buy land inside a bush and wait 20 years for development to enter the area, often at-times stories go begin enter the land.

Greedy men everywia, I rather eat my sweat than allow some local land re-sellers use my money to drink pepper soup.

I recently sold a land that i bough at N3m in ibeju Lekki in 2011 at N3.5 million due to stories that were sounding like pasuma music to my ears, i have decided to eat peppersoup with the money until it finishes. A plate of peppersoup currently goes for N1,200, that means i can eat 2,916 plates of peppersoup grin.

[/quoted bought a land for N3m in 2011 and sold it for 3.5m in 2019. Waste of investment bro. If u had invest it in bond at 10% since 2011, u would made a good money even without compounding. I can vividly see the reason why u sold to drink pepper soup. But pls, I will be interested in that pepper soup oooo. Not really asking for much. Just 5plates is enough for me. U funny shaa

I also bought a land in town of MCC road owerri for 10million and did other expenses on it to secure it properly well. Everything I spent on it is $12m. Is for sale now. And what i have gotten so far as offers is $13.5m. I bought this land in 2016 when TB and Bond were 16 to 19% respectively. If I had invested this money then in TB or Bond with compounding, as at today , i should be seeing above $18m. Am regretting it till today. So am going to sell it immediately at 13.5m and do something better with the capital.

Thank so much for this response, i have already deducted my point from it. You simply bought a bad land at swampy area. This is the reason one should be very careful while buying land during the dry season.

There was a time a man took me to see a land at somewhere, everywhere has dried up as we were in dry season, but something saved me, i saw those kind of plants you only see at riverine areas. The price was very good but never a good land to invest on.

You still didnt get my point. I didnt buy a land in a swampy area as u said. Besides, PHC is not Lagos that is full of swamps. I said the road got terribly bad thereby forcing people out of that area. So u mean to tell me that u do not consider road network when buying a land? Bros, I no sure say u live in naija.

I will never doubt your claim sir, but please can you explain what you mean by bad road network that prevent people from buying land there anymore? Besides, where is the location of said land{city and area located]

Honestly I didnt expect this question from you. I bought my in portharcourt when the road was intact, only to realise now that the road is no go area now. So who wan buy a land in place where he cant drive in and out without having someone pushed the car out from the dirty erosion. Dont u know that alot of things are put in place when people wanna buy land. Road network Is number one sir, considering the fact that we are in a country that does not rehabilitate dilapidated roads. Bottom line is, there was no buyer right now. As I was told to wait until dry season so that new investors wont know how bad the road is. Imagine, assuming I have an urgent need now, what will I do?, na to sell below the price and solve my needs.

13.57% for 7 years.

If i were you, i will get land at vastly develop area with 3m and use the rest to fence it and process C of O. That could give you more than 8 Million in next 7 years.

Just incase you know. There is no guarantee that he will sell the land bought for 3m at 8m. No single assurance of that. Infact after 7yrs, the land may not even reach the 3m. It happened to me, bought a land in a good location in 2012, wanting to sell now, only to realise that the road network has gone very very bad that no one even want to buy it at the cost I bought it sef.

You have spoken well but unfortunately, most Nigerian marriages are scam. Just look at the responses on this thread. It goes to show that most Nigerian bred men don't love their wives. There is no love, trust, togetherness in most Nigerian marriages and that is why most Nigerian married folks are miserable and want to pressure single people into getting married so they can join them in their misery club called marriage.

Reading this thread explains why Nigerian widows are so poverty stricken. Their deceased husbands leave nothing for them and the children. And since it is obvious that the average Nigerian male hates women, I wonder why he goes ahead to get married.

Nigerian society is filled with mysogynist men getting married and then raising families where domestic violence, infidelity, hatred for spouse, etc is the order of the day. And then you wonder why Nigeria as a country is so messed up.

My dear, the simply truth of the whole thing is, men in naija doesnt value women at all and these goes along way to show u the reason why they do not like female child, once only a female child is involved, they simply start pregnanting every girl on the street so as to have a male child. I took my time to go thru all the comments here and the only thing I figured out was the fact that this men married this ladies to give them kid. They do not value u one bit. Alot of women are suffering while their husbands are enjoying with their side chicks outside. I pity ladies who haven't realise this fact. I already knew about this fact, so even before I married, I let my hubby knew that am not in for any housewive, so I husssle to spend my own money as I do not care how much he has got. I had 3kids all girls and am not bothered. Even if he decides to marry 200% wives to have a male child, I do not care because I already knew my position and can comfortably take care of my pretty girls with or without any man. I blame ladies who rely on all this ass holes called men. Naija law will always favour them any time any day. Naija as a country will never ever get better because of the mentality of this men ruling us.

This is what I've never stopped pondering over, if he/she cannot be trusted with anything, why marry each other? I dunno how people cope in such marriages where I have to be cautious with everything. My husband knows my PIN, I know his too, I know his business buddies, I know every contract he's doing or about to do, we decide together what to venture into and what not. I am more or less his manager and we're happy so. I think It's true most of the problems plaguing our society is deeply rooted in family. God help us.
.

He is very faithful to you and a responsible man too. those chronic cheaters wont try it.

This is a smart girl.
She's a successful actress,
She's married and she has kids.
She is also lucky her marriage to Austin can't be threatened again with the coming of her son this year.

I really wonder how she manages to tend to those kids, memorize her movie scripts and still spread her legs for spousal duties.
Anyways, she should just give us one more son so she can stand with two legs in that home.

I honestly wish I could say the same about Ini Edo.

So are saying without the baby boy, which a man generate, her home will be threatened? i fear igbo people with their mentality in this 21st century. no wonder they cant be allowed to rule this country called Nigeria.

The truth about this whole thing is, Naija men are very Adulterous and polygamous in nature as they tag themselves. most of them doesnt like to disclose asset to their wives for the sole reason of keeping as many girl friends and baby mamas as possible. women has the habit of monitoring account to see what goes in and out when declared to them, so if a man for, instance spends on his girl friends, the wive will know because the acct will reduce and by the time she asked question as to why the money reduced, problem will set in the family. many naija men for some reasons, doesnt like to assist where they married from, therefore they hid there assets and wealth from the wives so that he can help as many as he wants without the wives knowlegde. Women on the other hands, doesnt like to disclose asset or used their husbands as next of kin because the moment they die before the man, the man will remarry and her children will suffer as most men doesnt care to know the well being of their children once a new wive is involved and by the time the new wife start producing, the rest is history as she will use her woman power to subdue the rights of the first wive children. In conclusion, marriage in Nigeria is a total scam, there is no love nor trust. The men marry to have children while the women marry because of societal norm of u must marry as a womans pride is her husband.

Politics / Re: Ikechukwu Ohakwe, A Nigerian Soldier Dies In Road Accident (photos) by needful: 11:48pm On Jul 20, 2019
CGMedia:
Another Nigerian soldier, Capt. Ikechukwu Ohakwe, has been killed by Boko Haram terrorists, Igbere TV has learnt.

Igbere TV gathered that the late Capt. Ohakwe, is a top ranking military officer from Nekede, in Imo State.

It was learnt that the fallen hero is among the recent victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in Northeast, Nigeria.

He died when his group was reportedly attacked by the terrorists group, in their latest attack on the Nigerian troops.

Meanwhile, Igbere TV had earlier reported on Thursday that a Nigerian army colonel including five other gallant soldiers were killed in an ambush by rebel fighters in Borno state.

According to reports, heavily armed fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) backed Boko Haram group, on Wednesday, opened fire on a patrol vehicle of soldiers, killing all the soldiers on board.

Igbere TV understands that the attack came hours after a military chief in the Northeast warned “terrorists” in the region to surrender or be destroyed.

So many soldiers and civilians have been lost within the course of the war and the battle is beginning to seem like one which will end in a Pyrrhic victory for the nation.

Please, I have an account with Morgan for over a year now but I am finally ready to start investing in stocks as I just met my target of mutual funds investment. Now I am the type that would love to go long-term with stocks investment so I'm looking at stocks that pay regular dividend.

Aside Zenith bank, any other organization(s) you can recommend?
How do I go about my first investment using morgan's platform?
How do I process my e-dividend mandate?

Many thanks as I look forward to your response.

If I were you, I will wait and observe the market a little bit. Things aren't moving fine. Wait till november and see how the market will be doing. Some stocks like uba, zenith, gtb, fidelity etc are expected to fall more. So wait my dear to avoid story that touches the heart.

There's a chance those stocks may yet lose 5-10% of their current values based on the current state of the market. But it f you don't panic-sell, there's a higher chance (almost a guaranteed one) that you'll get to make15-20% on them between now and April either via dividends or capital gains.

Well on that note, I will prefer GTB and Zenith, although this is not the right time to enter them. I pm u, can u get back to me?
