Should the president be told? Or is self isolation also synonymous with deafness? Hasn't he heard what his colleagues who call themselves presidents are proactively doing for their citizens? Smh for naijeria |
Unpatriotic, I agree. But then cowardly a statement coming from a honorable minister. If your office can't fix a reasonable price, who will? |
Honor your father and mother. True. But not in this manner Mr Speaker. |
This is your personal matter Bros. Just sell only two of your cars and you will be fine, trust me. |
kunleweb:You really don't seem to have a sense of humor, or do you? |
No! Not at all! Not even till the end of time itself. Why? This is because the epileptic power situation is only a symptom of a main underlying cause which if not dealt with will result in the perpetuation of this and other symptoms. Take it or leave it, Nigeria is beyond redemption! |
This senselessness will not stop until this jungle is declared the "Islamic republic of Nigeria". So I ask of the pretentious religion of peace aka Islam, what happened to the principle of "live and let live"? |

@nlPoster, go and join DSS/FBI. If indeed what you dug up is true, then truly the internet never forgets! I have been doing a lot of thinking and one of the conclusions I have arrived at scares me deeply. The conclusion that it will be very difficult, if not extremely difficult for a Nigerian Christian to make heaven. This is a resource topic for another day. |
SoftP:Not at all. Op isn't self righteous, rather op simply spoke according to his level of knowledge. In Christianity, the deeper your knowledge, the more broad-minded you become ( 2nd Timothy 2v15). Let me cite some examples I have very delicate ears and as such I keep a safe distance from loudspeakers. True, when I make it to church minutes before the commencement of service, I get to choose any location to sit. However will I have to incur a hearing impairment all because I decided to obey the ushers and allow them place in an uncomfortable location? Judge ye. I am a medical practitioner and my phone line is expected to be active 24/7. For instance, after completing a call duty from Saturday to Sunday morning and handed over to my colleague and gotten to the church with my phone switched off. I really wonder how my colleague will be able to reach me for further clarifications on a particular patient whilst in Church. You may choose to give a wave of the hand answer but before you do, assume your relative is the patient in question for whom urgent clarification is sought. I bet you will curse me from wherever you are for switching off my phone! Mind you, I have never switched off my phone in the banking hall and I receive calls there too. Like I usually do at the petrol station and in the church, I step out to answer the phone which is usually set to vibrate while in Church. Let me stop here before this turns into an epistle. But op, please let love lead. |

With a first name like Willie, the claims are not far fetched. Remember Willie Willie? |
Is this open to debate too? Smh. Soon we will debate if stolen money is divine favour or a vice. Mtcheeeeew! |

FarahAideed:Right question! |
A recurring decimal. This is one of my grouse with this shithole called Naija. AFN has a technical department that is present in Doha right? Right. This technical department then reeks of irredeemable mediocrity if they don't know all of what the IAAF holy Grail says. You would expect heads to roll ie people in this department loosing their jobs upon their return from Doha, right? Wrong. None will even get a query. I am tempted to say "God help Naija" but I know He won't because naija is not ready to help herself. |
So za oza room has been empty kwo? |
This soon-to-be senile elder statesman, who goofed two God given opportunities to remedy this nation from the failed trajectory it is presently on, has somehow found his voice again. This part of his retrospective tirade got me - “You should rather fashion another way to show your displeasure and not doing so at the expense of your patients,” Obasanjo said. To which I ask, "Sir, could you please specify other ways through which medical personnel can express their grievance (s) that will inadvertently get the attention of the Government" |
Guinness I hope it's clearly specified that only non-alcoholic brands are allowed. Or else...... there will be a lot of highnesses behind the wheels ![]() |
Osinbajo! Osinbajo!! Osinbajo!!! How many times did I call you? It's a good thing that you are said to be a pastor. Though I am not your fan at all, I want you to remember when the devil appeared to Jesus and told him to jump? That's exactly what guys like Chidoka suggesting to you. Beware!!! |
celeiyke:Please pardon my sarcasm. I intended some pun but I don't think I delivered it well. Sorry bro |
Jochabed:On point! Good question. To what end? ![]() |
At last! |
topboss:According to the books, it's referred to as the Delusion of Grandiosity. Like I said, the books categorize those statements as emanating from one with such a disorder. I am not the one saying it oh, it's the books. For me, I have no comments because I have gone past caring. |
ursullalinda:My dear, fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony after all - Morpheus (Matrix 1 of the Trilogy) |
celeiyke:At this rate, you will be needing a pair of reading glasses just before your next birthday. Look well, op mentioned stamp duty. |
Charleys:CONSOLIDATION ![]() |
That's not enough. They should have severed his manhood too in my opinion. |
Oh finally sir, you are suddenly emboldened to say the truth. Now I can call you an elder because before now, all I saw in you was sycophant. An elder speaks the truth for many reasons, some of which are: He proves that wisdom gets better with age He is not afraid to die He wants posterity to judge him fairly To the rest of you, believe in one Nigeria at your own peril! |
Serena Williams Keeps Fighting, But Falls Short in Another Grand Slam Bianca Andreescu of Canada poses with the trophy after and with runner-up Serena Williams of the United States at Arthur Ashe Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 07, 2019 in New York City. TPN—Getty Images SEAN GREGORY September 8, 2019 At the U.S. Open, the Arthur Ashe stadium crowd never ceases to insert itself into the action. Remember, for example, a year ago, when the angry fans — still ticked by a controversial call that took a game away from Serena Williams — booed while Naomi Osaka was receiving her first Grand Slam title trophy, creating one of the most uncomfortable sports moments of this century. During the second set of the women’s final on Saturday between Serena Williams, 37, and Bianca Andreescu, 19, of Canada, the crowd suddenly erupted in cheers as Williams was flailing, in a sort of desperate attempt to rescue her. And for awhile, the roars worked. Trailing by a set and down 1-5 — the match was for all purposes over — Serena started playing like, well, Serena. “I was just thinking, honestly at that point, Wow, this is terrible,” says Williams. “I just couldn’t go down like that.” So Serena’s U.S. Open heartbreak continues. Four times in recent years, Williams arrived at Ashe on a seemingly inevitable march towards history. In 2015, she entered the U.S. Open having won the year’s first three Grand Slam titles, attempting to become the first player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win the calendar year Grand Slam. Italy’s Roberta Vinci, however, shocked her in the semifinals. A year later, Williams could have broken Graf’s record of 22 Open Era Grand Slam titles in front of adoring American fans. She fell in the semis again, this time to Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic. (Williams broke Graf’s record in January 2017, when she beat her sister Venus Williams in the Australian Open while pregnant). After missing the 2017 U.S. Open to give birth to her daughter Olympia, she came back to New York last year to try to tie Court’s overall record of 24 Grand Slams, but lost in the final to Osaka. With this loss to Andreescu, she’s still chasing Court. Such recent failure doesn’t diminish Serena’s remarkable return to tennis since giving birth to her daughter in September 2017. No athlete has come back from a life-threatening labor, to return to top form in a grueling individual sport like tennis, in her late 30s no less. She’s played in four Grand Slam finals since the start of 2018. No other woman can match that mark. Still, going winless in these finals is rankling her. She hasn’t even won set in these last four Grand Slam finals appearances. When someone asked her after the match if the losses are having less of an impact on her, Serena gave the questioner a proper side-eye. “I honestly don’t think Serena showed up,” she says. The Ashe crowd received Andreescu warmly during the awards ceremony after the match. Thankfully, no controversy caused ugly booing in back-to-back years. Andreescu acknowledged that the pro-Serena crowd was her biggest hurdle to victory — the fans laughed — and Serena thanked the crowd for inspiring her comeback. “I’m like so, so close, so close, so close,” says Serena. “Yet so far away.” Culled from the TIME vault mag So back to the question. Is there any chance Serena might be involved in match fixing or do these recurrent losses in epic finals suggest a jinx? Please pen your thoughts.... |
