Being a seasoned economist and former CBN governor, you would agree with me that salaries and allowances are two different things. So what you propose is not good enough. You said sometime ago, whilst in government, at a discuss on I think subsidy that you cannot remember the last time you dipped hands in your pocket (salary) to buy PMS. By inference, you had a car maintenance and fuel allowance which you enjoyed. I would like to second the opinions of some fellow nairalanders above which questions the political sagacity of the emir - the corrupt, decrepit, putrid, greedy, callous, selfish, self aggrandizing NASS will ensure the emir's suggestion does not leave his palace!

My dear sis, the fault is squarely yours. What definite action did you take when those "lists" were flying right, left and center? Did you stand up for your husband? Did you threaten to put marriage proceedings on hold until "sane" lists were brought forward? This culture that gives certain people who don't know anything about your life's journey the impetus to be headstrong and actively involved when a woman is to be given away in marriage should be jettisoned forthwith. In my opinion, Marriage contracts should be negotiated by parents of the bride and groom alone. This will reduce needless complexities. It goes without saying that due diligence such as background checks etc must have been carried out by both kindred before settling down for the marriage contract itself. My sisters, if you are convinced the man you brought home is the person you wish to spend the rest of your life with, bear his name and children, then stand by him until those greedy uncles back down on their outrageous pre-marriage demands. Why would you spend your honeymoon money on frivolous lists and ceremonies that will be quickly forgotten in as little a space as 2weeks? Meanwhile let me pass a message, in a few weeks I will be migrating out of Nigeria permanently. I have realised there is no hope being an ordinary citizen in this hell hole of a country.

Nigeria is a country of the rich and elite class, lawless and if you are in this category, you live like a king. However the poor and middle class are doomed for life. You all are living in complete misery. You lack basic social amenities, poor healthcare facilities, roads, food, electricity, clean water, security and lives properties.

Yet you all praise the 0.1% elites follow them and there vision to keep you impoverish for life. We praise, fight for them and pray for them when death comes calling.

Byeeee in advance, I will contribute my quota but living on the other side of planet.

Am so happy for you. Please when you are settled over there, kindly lend a helping hand to brothers left behind so they can migrate legally out of this shithole of a country.
