Please what is the essence of this post. I think op is up to some mischief. I also think op belongs to the other side who can't stand the honest criticism of their post, yet delight in dipping their nose where it doesn't belong. Yet some docile, naive and insensitive Christians will open their mouths and join in casting aspersions. |
What agreement has light with darkness? What communion has God with Belial? What connection has the temple of God with idols? Such wicked and perverse generation. |
Perennial lie. |
As usual and quite predictable. |
Sirfemisky:Cheap, senseless, nonsensical, whacked blackmail. |
vhuqnl:Why are you behaving like an adherent of the other religion whose god cannot fight for himself. Didn't you just call him a fake pastor? Then leave him to God. Why do you want to take up a fight meant for God alone? Once again, my God is not like that other god. If you really need someone to pick on, I suggest you and all others who have made righteousness 99 their headache to face the grossly irresponsible FG and force them to make life better for the citizens. |
You and your wife should spoil her with excess love and gifts. With time, she will stop seeing her daughter in-law as a competitor but as a companion. Excess love can even make a confirmed witch change her stance. |
What do you intend to achieve with asking a girl out? Bragging rights, fornication, intention to marry? Asking out sake? etc. Please, please and please, focus on your future, career, personality, physique and maturity level, then work hard at moving these forward. When the time for a honest relationship comes, you will instinctively know and suddenly loose the shyness. Once again, FOCUS. |
Jman06:Yeah, you may be right you know, about his level of sanity, but I can vividly recall him being quizzed by Femi Gbajabiamila on the hazard allowance to which he either feigned ignorance or was plain dumb. I can't forget how Femi concluded that scene - "Honourable minister, you dropped the ball there". Some even speculated age-related senility or early stage Alzheimer's as being responsible. On the competence of an NYSC doctor, how many of these doctors can carry out basic procedures lumbar puncture, blood for arterial blood gas, or even basic life support routine? How many can insert a naso-gastric tube, apply a cast safely, arrest a bleeder in quick time, or have handled a defibrillator? It's unfortunate you launched an attack on an initiate, a coven member of the medical cult. Need I tell you that medical training in Nigeria has gone from hero to almost zero in the last decade. Honestly, we don't need this banter at all. We are meant to jointly attack an irresponsible government that has reduced her citizens to mere slaves in their own country. |
toolovely:Gbam! That's the hypocrisy this shameless government has refused to address |
flyingpig:Third class and pass degree holders I guess ![]() |
I have been having doubts about the sanity of our health minister and finally, this move confirms he actually needs psychiatric evaluation ASAP. Pray tell, when did the solution to a deflated tyre become a balloon ![]() |
I thoroughly enjoyed this exposition, deposition, illumination and it's unbiased, unequivocal, non- prejudicial nature. |
kikero:Noted bro. Not like I want to deviate from the focus of this discussion, but I can't help but mention corruption as being what has majorly landed us in this cesspit. What happened to the sum OBJ committed to the revamp of the power sector? What does turn around maintenance of our refineries mean? The timing is also quite insensitive. Let me for once tow your path by agreeing govt is trying to do something nice but in a bitter and painful way. Do we behead ourselves because we have a headache? I find it difficult to understand why a successful yam farmer would go out to purchase pounded yam. Really, this beggars belief. Why can't we fix our refineries or build new ones or at least allow modular refineries to function? Until we do, we will forever talk about fuel subsidy. If Ghana that we supply power to can allow her citizens enjoy free power till 2021, then the Nigerian government can be best described as callous. If you really look into what we can save from our expensive cost of present governance and all the recovered loot, you will fully agree with me that no citizen ought to be burdened with the empty shouts of future development dreams. I am no soothsayer, neither am I a pessimist, but this govt will achieve NOTHING with what they intend to save by castrating her citizens in this manner. |
kikero:Yes, that's one perspective - yours, and I respect that. But how about we as citizens through the instrument of the NASS raise and see to the passing of a bill on a drastic change in their (NASS) remuneration and that of the executive. The salary of a perm.sec is known. Add 100k to that and you arrive at the new take home of a honourable minister. Add 100k to that of a minister and you get that of a revised HOR pay. Add 100k to that of a HOR to arrive at a revised Senator's salary. All allowances, including sitting, are to be yanked off. If accommodation in Abuja is a problem, FG should house them in hotels till blocks of flats/condominium can be built for them. These block of flats/condo are for members of the NASS as they come and go. It is not to be sold to any of them. They evacuate as soon as their tenure expires. No more security votes for governors, no more pension for ex-governors and their deputies (they should return to what they were doing before emerging governors), they should be made to pay the salaries of any aides they wish to have from their own pockets, etc. If the executive and judiciary and state-level HOA /arms of government follow suit, you will be amazed at how much would be realized. I know that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle that for what I proposed to happen There's really no need to borrow or put hapless citizens through this misery. |
Now that a breach of due process has besieged Sagay's doorsteps, he screams blue murder. I am keenly watching in 7D |
Is the money yours? Is the money his? Your answer to these questions is the answer to your question. |
Let's take a look at this beating thing wella. The media is rife with instances, latest being that of the Iginlas. Truth is, for every one that comes to the public domain, there are thousands shuffled under the carpet. I have tried to wrap my head around a plausible justification for this uncivil display (except perhaps in the instances I alluded to in the succeeding premise) but I am yet to find any that effective communication cannot help resolve. Perhaps, assault, domestic violence shares the same pedestal as a lingering tantrum, developmental stunting or retardation, all depicting the presence of an infant inhabiting an adult body. Let's ponder on these premise: A man is not referred to as a "Gentleman" for no reason. Again, for some reason, the female is glowingly depicted as "lady, rose, sunshine, flower, etc" and for the religiously inclined, "the weaker sex"(I Peter 3:7). Medically speaking, the man weighs more, has a higher basal metabolic rate, possesses heavier bones and comparatively larger muscle bulk than female counterparts of same age group. Last but not the least, the monthly cycle females experience with its attendant rush of hormones can to a great extent account for the emotional lability they sometimes exhibit. So my points are: That the guy acts the gentleman by never hitting a lady - caveat: except when a female criminal or assassin accosts you. That a lady who hits a man needs empathy and understanding in the first instance, then professional help for subsequent assaults. That the guy who hits a lady, even in the first instance needs professional help. Why can't he take on a man his own size? This in itself is not right as wisdom is mightier than strength. To all male apologists out there, I am not giving females a soft landing. Rather, I am only saying it as it is and should be. To the feminine folk, please don't misconstrue the male gentility for cowardice. So, people let me know your take while you enjoy your Sunday. |

I am yet to understand why a husband will ever lift his hands to beat his wife ![]() |
Topmaike007:Are you ok? |
It's Ex President GEJ's face I want to see right now with a possible smirk on his face, as if to say " but I told you so" |
damiloladuke:All of these wisdom and experience in just two weeks alone? |
apache4:Go over to meet up with her and take her out to a neutral place where she will be able to unburden her heart without distractions. All the best. |
apache4:She must have her reasons. She wouldn't want to up and leave without any reasons. So, get her to pour out all her reasons, make sure you are a very good listener, don't interrupt her as she does so. When she is done, first ask her if that will be all ie If she has any other reasons before addressing each reason one after the other with verifiable facts and tangible reality. Be sure to avoid the use of highfalutin hopes. If however she remains adamant, be quick to alert and enlist the help of her loved ones and even professional services if she hints at suicidal tendencies. Cheers. |
My best hobby is thinking and this has led me to discover a lot of things on my own eg better ways of getting a task done easier and faster, whether at the office or at home. Through thinking, I am able to improvise when the appropriate is not available. Through retrospective analysis, I am able to better my present and by extension, the future. It is this same thinking, which I did in 2009, that made me come to the frank and fearful realization that Nigeria is a damaged product. What led to that conclusion is story for another day. Only yesterday, I stumbled upon one of the letters of the late Sage, Pa Obafemi Awolowo (God bless his soul), who in 1986 penned down a fearful foreboding concerning this nation. It embodies all the trappings that led to my own sad conclusion of 2009. Here's the letter. To that request, Awolowo wrote the following: “Dear Sir, “I received your letter of February 28, 1986, and sincerely thank you for doing me the honour of inviting me to contribute to the National Political Debate. “The purpose of the debate is to clarify our thoughts in our search for a new social order. “It is therefore meet and proper that all those who have something to contribute should do so. “I do fervently and will continue fervently to pray that I may be proved wrong. “For something within me tells me, loud and clear, that we have embarked on a fruitless search. “At the end of the day, when we imagine that the new order is here, we would be terribly disappointed. “In other words, at the threshold of our New Social Order, we would see for ourselves that, as long as Nigerians remain what they are, nothing clean, principled, ethical, and idealistic can work with them. “And Nigerians will remain what they are, unless the evils which now dominate their hearts, at all levels and in all sectors of our political, business and governmental activities are exorcised. “But I venture to assert that they will not be exorcised, and indeed they will be firmly entrenched, unless God Himself imbues a vast majority of us with a revolutionary change of attitude to life and politics or, unless the dialetic processes which have been at work for some twenty years now, perforce, make us perceive the abominable filth that abounds in our society, to the end that an inexorable abhorrence of it will be quickened in our hearts and impel us to make drastic changes for the better. “There is, of course, an alternative option open to us. “To succumb to permanent social instability and chaos. “In the premises, I beg to decline your invitation. “I am yours truly, Obafemi Awolowo” Here's the link to acknowledge the original source - http://saharareporters.com/2020/08/01/can-nigeria-ever-be-redeemed-and-made-great-without-right-revolution-olanrewaju-osho So what are your thoughts? Please let's rub minds here. |
inforesource:You are right bro to the extent that only two persons can occupy the exalted position of first and second in the nation. To be honest, I can't see any man I wish to give my backing for any of the positions. Let me tease you with this chronicle. In 1983, the present president took over power and did absolutely nothing with it. Only idiagbon, God bless his soul, gave that administration some sense of direction. On discovering a lacunae, Maradona left Argentina and possessed IBB who imported SAP and holds the enviable record of ushering the naira into a free fall. Bereft of dribbling skills in 1993, he cancels an election and STEPS ASIDE (whatever that means). His greedy COAS decided to prove that Maradona was only a learner, no wonder his benevolence from the other side is mind-blowing to the children of today. Suddenly, a glimmer of hope shone on the horizon and while religious folks termed it "the hand of God" with attendant effusive eulogies deserving of an Almighty, the scientific community harped on a chemical weapon which may have involved an apple as conduit and transporter. The Ota prince, who was fortuitously gifted what almost every citizen referred to as a "second chance", greedily fluffed it away in a fruitless bid to perpetuate himself in power. Permit me at this point to introduce a slimmy character whose toga of "comrade" and signature khaki dress code still provokes a derisive laughter from my loins. Pls may I remind you at this juncture that the free fall of the naira continued unabated with its attendant consequences. Back to the khaki wearing, albeit, fearless indigene of Edo state who bears a primordial name, little did we know what his true intentions were. He got everyone else fooled, except for myself and a few other persons, and made them believe he was fighting their cause. Pray tell, why didn't any of his petrol pump price hike wars ever end with a restoration to status quo. Right under his nose, the near N11 naira fuel pump price the OTA prince met it as galloped to a N70 at his exit. Here's the time to ask me "what's your point gaan gaan?". My points are as follows: 1. You really can't vouch for anyone until you see how they handled power, authority, privilege, opportunity etc. 2. Decay and depreciation has remained on the milky way of free fall. 3. That checks and balances, not the charade currently known as NASS and the Judiciary, are far more important than the persons who will bulldoze their way to the seats of power. (Or do you think we actually elect people in this part of the world?) Before you label me Mr Elejowewe, let me answer your question. Answer- Oby Ezekwesili for President Dora Akunyili / the Adesina of AFDB for VP I am not amnesic. Just that I wish Dora was still alive. |
Op, you are taking us back to one of those perennial mistakes we usually make - the presumption that it takes one seemingly good man to change the fortunes of Naija. Where are the Sai Babas now? Even football has moved away from the era of point9 dependency. Every member of the 23man squad is now made to imbibe the hunger for goals. In other words, Naija doesn't need one man, rather a vast group of seemingly good men and women who would rise above ALL DIVIDES to salvage the nation. |
theultimatep3:TRUE! |
theultimatep3:Yeah, I acknowledge your point and it is valid. However, I was specific on agemates which is a wider sample size - a collection of all the groups you mentioned. More like a set/subsets tingy |
Getintouch2004:My dear, I beg to differ on "a few bad eggs". Don't go too far. Forget about magu, akpabio etc. Look around and make a mental headcount of your agemates and tell me how many of them you can trust with a loan of N5000? If honestly, those you can trust outnumber the opposite group, then you are right in your assertion and I will owe you an apology. |
Ahmed0336:Rather, it's for every 50 bad Nigerians tarnishing our image there is 1 Nigerian living and earning honestly! You don't believe me? Let's just count from this week alone: akpabio, pondei, ngige, off your mic crew, N1.5b for NDDC staff covid enjoyment, 774,000 jobs brouhaha, the full NDDC, NCDC, NSITF, N100,000 to N1m per covid patient,........... should I continue.......we have counted more than a rotten 50 already!!! Juxtapose that with one Nigerian born officer who is decorated for financial propriety. In short, the rotten far outnumber the good. QED. |
