babyfaceafrica:Sorry but you may be hitting Oliseh harder than deserved bro. Believe me when I say I used to be an insider and privy to the heap of rot resident in the sports sector, NFF in particular. Please does it make sense for: -A coach to be owed when sports officials/administrators junket around in most times business class, receiving estacodes, salaries and allowances promptly? -Tools and resources a coach and his team need to excel are denied them under whatever guise? -training camps, schedules, friendlies are cancelled arbitrarily? -camp allowances, bonuses, after-competition promises not to be paid or fulfilled? Ask 1985 U17 & 1994 Eagles..... -players to be imposed on a coach? Just to mention a few. Amodu & Keshi (of blessed memory),Chukwu, Egwuavoen, Siasia, Amunike etc all chose to play it cool with the NFF and see where it landed them. Is it not painful that Amodu & Keshi are still being owed in their graves? Haven't you noticed that force is the language authorities in naija respond to? Eg ASUU, Doctors, NUPENG strikes etc. Oliseh understood this, and being more literate than most NFF Officials, spoke out and quite articulately against NFF tyrany and gross incompetence. Would you hav preferred he kept quiet like the others? I still maintain that until his likes are more in number in this country, every prayer me, you and a host of others have made concerning this country would best be described as "faith without works" |
babyfaceafrica:I highlighted the above portion cos I beg to differ. If only we had more people like Oliseh who would stand up to the authorities that be whenever they are not getting things right, things would hav been better. In this country we believe so much in the "naija" way of doing things instead of the "right" way. NFF thought they had hired another one of their usual "suffering and smiling" hungry employees, little did they know that OLISEH was and is an outspoken, forthright man with his own means! Once more, I salute his courage and wish him more successes beyond his wildest dreams, amen. |
ChiefSweetus:FOOD FOR THOUGHT |
BabaAlabi:Yes, as a "christian", its going to work. Question is when? Let me guess.......hmmmm...............after Jesus' second coming! |
Amberon11:According to D'banj, if you believe wot u read n how u reacted, then " u are on a long tin" ! Means u can believe anytin! |
blaquebelle:Definitely not! Imagine the embarrassment! Am scrolling down in the office/bus & someone looks over my shoulder only to erroneously conclude I am a perv! Anyone needing such images sure knows where to get them, not nairaland! Mods, I move the motion that xxx1228 be banned for life! |
You girls rock! BRAVO! Congratulations! |
donnaD:My dear, this is the world as it is today! Standards are falling everywhere you look, even JAMB has followed suit ![]() Please may I shock you further - it will get worse! So keep yourself and those you care about and warn as many people as you can, after all I am 1000% sure your first name isn't JESUS. |
Please did anyone read the "letter of petition"? So badly constructed with loads of typos! |
Not late at all. Remain focused and motivated. Good thing about medicine is how your intellectual prowess and sublime practical skills stand you out. Age is given no consideration even @70. |
Donprayer:Op, pls is it palmoil u use when u do ur monthly car oil change? You must be very rich dude to have carried on with this wasteful venture for the past three and a half years. Are you using a Synthetic 5W-30 or a 20W-50? Cos if its d former, i wouldnt mind getting your contact so i can pour what you drain out of yours into mine, while saving subsequent drains for resale at a discounted price! ![]() On a serious note, Please look up frequency of car oil change from your vehicle manual. If you don't have a hardcopy, download it from the internet. There must be a mechanical balance between time of last service and mileage driven afterwards. |
I quite admire his courage. He is better than me and some other people who only talk and can't walk the talk. |
I admire the fact that Joe isn't a political prostitute, ever ready to take a bullet on behalf of his party & convictions. My only problem with him is that given the prevalent political and economic quagmire, HE IS TOTALLY BLIND, in comparison with the likes of Stevie Wonder & Cobhams Asuquo who though referred to as "blind" musicians, can see with other senses. |
idealogical:Please bro, try and maintain some civility in your language. We don't need any covert personal attacks. We are entitled to maintaining our different opinions without exchanging fists or becoming online enemies. Back to the subject matter, do you know the details of the agreement? An agreement where only levels 7 and below got 100%, while levels 8 & above received fractions of the whole. While I am almost certain that the governor, his aides, the state legislature and other state political office holders are not being owed a penny, yet they have the moral depravity and lack of human conscience to pay civil servants promptly and fully! What a jungle! Some animals are indeed more equal than others! I am deeply pained when injustice is glorified. Except you are a Rauf watchdog, or a beneficiary from the rot in Osun state, I may want to call to question the state of your conscience - alive? partly alive? comatose? dead? - pray tell bro. |
idealogical:No pun intended bro, just that the saying "don't bite more than you can chew" seems apt here. You appear to be the only one who doesn't know how irresponsible a governor Rauf is. He governs a state most notorious for owing backlog of salary arrears. Please extend your research further and you will find that Osun state has the highest record of exiting doctors in recent times! |
Can he pay them when they start working in the state? ![]() |
The query goes to HEFAMA. They are virile when it has to do with private establishments but suddenly appear emasculated when it concerns public health centres. Double standards everywhere! Tot wots good for the goose is also good for the gander! What a pandemic uploading, presently @ 80% |
One gaffe too many! What a jungle sory country! |
Op, I don't think Nikkai and Church wedding go together. Guess u meant Nikkai and white wedding. ![]() |
Oh! Dawn just arrived. Just questioning touts now for a reckless statement they made months ago! How effective and responsive! ![]() |
Way to go girl! Patriotism my left little toe! |
Kbkfoundation Dalu rienne! You have done well. What is N10,000 to a worthy lioness? The part I really don't like though is her having to contact you. Please go to her college dean/provost and make the presentation! Anybody who thinks your donation is paltry should donate theirs. Big ups kbk! |
What are Nigerians waiting for? |
Stylz69:You just relish suffering! ![]() |
Our DSS seems to have an uncanny ability when it comes to suspecting and moving against 'harmless' citizens. But When they see real rabble- rousers they either take to their heels or simply look the other way. A fellow NL above opined DSS as acronym for Daura Secret Service and I can't agree less. |
It unfair for the woman not to have disclosed her medical condition to her hubby before going to the altar. I guess a divorce is in order. |
blackbeau1:My dear, time, they say broadens our perspective. I just hope, for your sake & of those you love and hold dear, that a medical condition your "national hospital" cannot deal with, befalls you or them. Then, you just might get the drift of doctors on this thread. By the way, I couldn't help but notice the 'little sis' tag didn't go down well wit you. Am cool with the little bro though cos I am not what I am referred to as, rather I am whom I present myself to be! |
blackbeau1:Little sis, it is not compulsory to contribute to a matter. It would have been better if you just quietly read through people's posts on this thread |
mcquin:Sorry dude, I am almost certain that you don't hav your facts concerning the welfare of doctors in this country. How can a doctor be living above average when he is being owed salary arrears? You might want to argue that a lot of people are being owed too, but when you factor in the fact that doctors work for longer hours in the name of emergencies, call duties, leaving them with little or no time to pursue other money making ventures, you may be inclined to agree with me that it is CRIMINAL to owe a doctor! There are many points I would hav raised but let me leave others who truly understand the plight of the Nigerian doctor, beyond the facade of an compulsory ethical smile, to allude to more challenges they face. |
ScienceWatch:There is a possibility that op & the writer may be two different people! Pls check. |
ScienceWatch:Sorry, op could not hav been a woman since he could not stand on the same queue with his mum, but with his driver who stood in line behind him. |
I really don't know much about SCOAN but I read the whole piece & I must admit, THE WRITER writes WELL in terms of tenses, grammatical construct, phrases etc. I am impressed with your writing dude. ![]() |
