CultureRe: Calabar Carnival No Longer About Promoting Our Culture by nep2ra(m): 10:44am On Jan 25, 2013
Afam4eva: It has never been about promoting our culture but about promoting the cultures of the carribean islands. Now, they're now promoting the culture of sodom and gomorra. The calabar carnival, the port-hacourt carnival and the Lagos carnival are a shame.
It's your type that secretly watches p.orn, touches himself and later goes to God in prayer asking forgiveness.
SportsRe: Zambia Vs Nigeria (AFCON 2013) (1 - 1) On 25th January 2013 by nep2ra(m): 10:39am On Jan 25, 2013
To be on the safe side, expect nothing exceptional in today's game. At least, you wouldn't suffer heartbreak when the Super Eagles fail to win this match.
Even if Zambia is beaten, we have more determined and aggressive countries in this tournament. Every team in this competition has something to prove and they wouldn't let their opponents have it easy.
ProgrammingCan Someone Please Help Me With This Python Program? by nep2ra(op): 10:18pm On Jan 24, 2013
Hi all,

Please I want some help with the python program below. I started learning python programming late last year, December 2012. As an extra credit, I decided to practice my skill in writing functions, so I wrote a program to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa. To me, the program looks ok as I have tried my best to fix all errors but this annoying error keeps coming up:

File "farcel.py", line 17
elif value == "2":
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Here is the program:

print "******************************************************"
print " TEMPERATURE CONVERTER"
print "******************************************************"

def temp_conv():
print "This application converts Celsius to Farenheit and vice versa."
print "1. Press 1 if you want to convert Celsius to Farenheit."
print "2. Press 2 if you want to convert Farenheit to Celsius."

value = raw_input('> ')

if value == "1":
print "Please enter the value in Celsius you want to convert to Farenheit.\n"
cel_temp = raw_input('> ')
far = (1.8 * float(cel_temp)) + 32
print "The value in farenheit is: %r degree farenheit" % str(far)
elif value == "2":
print "Please enter the value in Farenheit you want to convert to Celsius.\n"
far_temp = raw_input('> ')
cel = 0.56 * (float(far_temp) - 32)
print "The value in celsius is: %r degree celsius" % str(cel)
else:
print "Please choose option 1 or 2."

temp_conv()

I appreciate every contribution to help me fix this bug.

Thank you.

The Super Eagles do not have what it takes to win AFCON 2013. Their game play quality is below par.
The players are too heavy and can't match the pace of most African nations I have seen in this tournament. I'm not being pessimistic neither am I being unpatriotic. As much as I want the Super Eagles to win this tournament, I'm being real when I say I don't see them progressing beyond the quater-finals. (That's if they qualify!)

nep2ra: From what I have seen so far at AFCON 2013, no African team should be underrated anymore. This is 2013 and not 1994. Most African teams have improved quality of game play over the years. Underestimate any African team at your own peril. The Super Eagles should approach this game with every seriousness.
I told you so!

Question of the day:

Why do Nigerians and Ghanaians not get on? Why is there so much animosity between them? Even here in the UK!

Christianity EtcRe: Did God Reveal Himself To Only The Jewish Race? by nep2ra(op): 7:21pm On Jan 03, 2013
Image123: Abraham, they had Abraham. can you read?
You claim the Jews had Abraham. Do you know Muslims also lay claim to Abraham?
Christianity EtcRe: Did God Reveal Himself To Only The Jewish Race? by nep2ra(op): 3:16pm On Jan 03, 2013
Ndipe: God called Abraham from his father's land to an unknown land where He made His promises to him that in him all nations will be blessed. So, technically, Abraham was not a jew by birth, he was called out of his father's land by God and through him (Jesus Christ being his descent) came to be blessed.
Who then is a Jew?

Why is it that the Bible places superior emphasis on the Jews? Are you saying God did not reveal Himself to your forefathers? (i.e Africans, which I suppose you are). If Yahweh (The God of Israel) chose the Jews as His people, will you blame other races for choosing to find and worship a God (or gods) who loves and approves of them?
Christianity EtcRe: Did God Reveal Himself To Only The Jewish Race? by nep2ra(op): 3:09pm On Jan 03, 2013
Uyi Iredia: I think God is revealed to who diligent inquires to the matter. You have the cases of the Ethiopian eunuch and the Roman centurion that Peter was sent to minister to. Its also worthy to note that since the advent of Christianity much has been done to bring all of the world under the consciousness that there is a God. Also, I think you partly answered your question when you said that people always had a concept of God in their minds and sought to express their reverence of this deity in the form of pagan worship. I think a more accurate way of putting it also is that God is revealed to someone. That is the person actually finds out that there is a God. And we can see glimpses of that in multitude of religions.

Are you implying there is no one true religion then? Are you saying every religion is a path to God?
Christianity EtcRe: Did God Reveal Himself To Only The Jewish Race? by nep2ra(op): 11:54am On Jan 02, 2013
that is why we PAgans have all the same basic underlying concept of religion and spirituality. The Gods revealed themselves in their own ways to the different tribes and ethnic groups around the world.

Zeus = Olodumare = Chukwu = Brahma, etc..

Shango = Mars = Mithras = MixCoatl = Agurzil = Guan Yu = Horus = Ku =Tumatauenga = Dayisun Tengrii = Bellona = Agasaya = Ogoun, etc . .

and so on and so forth. .

Therefore we tribals around the world must Unite. That is my logo btw on my profile pic.
I find the bold part very interesting. Sometimes I imagine what religion ancient civilizations, pre-dating Christianity and Islam practised. It's very fascinating to think these people had an organised form of rituals and worship. It goes to show long before the advent of Judaism, Christianity and Islam
people always had a concept of God in their minds and sought to express their reverence of this deity in the form of pagan worship.

PoliticsRe: ACN Accuses FG Of Deceit And False Statistics by nep2ra(m): 6:27am On Dec 31, 2012
Nigerians are very good at playing the victim of bad governance. We know our problems so well in this country. All we do is complain and hope that one day God will unleash his archangels to destroy our corrupt politicians. That I'm afraid will never happen.
What stops us youths and millions of other Nigerians home and abroad to come together and form a STRONG political party to challenge the present day government at the polls come 2015?
PoliticsRe: Lagos-Kano Passenger & Fuel-Haulage Train Launched by nep2ra(m): 6:43pm On Dec 21, 2012
I say welldone to the FG for this development. However, I advice that rail transportation should be left to the private sector to run while the FG should only be involved in setting out policies and regulating the operation of this sector. History has proved that the FG is not capable of handling rail transport effectively and efficiently. My 2 kobo.

Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo's Claim That Covenant University Wasnt Built With Tithes - My Thoughts by nep2ra(m): 4:06pm On Dec 12, 2012
Religion is an escape mechanism that helps the weak run from reality. My fellow Nigerians, please let's be honest for once in our lives. This honesty will help save future generations. We are very religious in Nigeria and most of Black Africa because of the massive failure of our past and present government to address the challenges of our country. If our government lived up to it's responsibilities as obtained in most developed countries, trust me, Nigerians will not be religious.
Most Nigerians worship God not because they love Him or because they want to attain spiritual enlightenment. They claim to worship God because of material comforts. Nigerian Christians treat God like a vending machine. Slot in #100 and receive it's equivalent in mayeri

Dignitaries that graced the launch were the Minster for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Gbenga Ashiru; the Head of Marketing and Communication, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mrs. Remi Odulani and Bayelsa State former governorship candidate, Mr. Murray Bruce.
Other dignitaries are: Managing Director, Winning Moves, Thomas Hiddel; Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Doyle and Development Director, Winning Moves, Peter Griffin, amongst others.

I never knew Peter Griffin from Family Guy actually exists in real Life and holds a regular job as a development director.
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo's Claim That Covenant University Wasnt Built With Tithes - My Thoughts by nep2ra(m): 12:25pm On Dec 12, 2012
I think he's right when he says CU wasn't built from Tithes and Offerings. I'm aware there were SPECIAL SEEDS sown towards the building of the University. People paid SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS and paid VOWS. These are different from the regular tithes and offerings.
If he claims none of these went to the building of the University then that means he built it from his own capital and that makes it his university and not the church's own.
