my yahoo messenger is misbehaving o!, when it starts er'thing is okay till you type in your id nd password then the thing closes, thats right it closes jst like that, i've tried uninstalling it and redownloading the prog but the prob persisted, i tried to use system restore but it refuses to restore to ANY of the previous restore points!!!, any bright ideas? i'm really opwn too suggestions(using trillian now but ppl dat use it can testify;they have the worst emoticons)

nway it could either be a virus, spyware,malware or even a rootkit.

I'd have asked for screenshots to help me zero in on the problem faster but first try these steps below;

1. Download and install AVG(including AVG rootkit)
2. Download and install Spywareblaster
3. Download and install Ad-aware
4. Download and install CC cleaner which shall be used last to clean and repair your registry.

Start your computer in SAFE MODE and run all these applications one after the other and let me know how it goes here.

Lest i forget, it could also be as a result of a failing processor(encountered a situation as such sometime ago)

u shld kno antiviruses wont work in safe mode cos their services wont be started,

d only way he'd be able to browse is if he puts d settings in manually(not 100% sure it'll work sef)d phones are neither windows or symbian, when u plug dem into PCs u'll see some nos. and letters u can google dem; dats the chip the phone is built around(d chip usu has capabilities for some of d popular services like bluetooth,camera,mp3,etc) also none of d nokia code-thingies will work with d phone(*#0000# or *#92702689#) dey usu dont come with a cd so ders no sofware and some come with two batteries(do u think nokia'll sell a phone with 2 batteries) face it u got served!
