tkb417:if GB no dey go commonwealth games, what's the point in having the darn games then? |
awww that's soo sweet, this thread is being overrun by soapy people. . .how nice. |
mjones:do you have any experience in power? have you read the power sector reform plan? you might be able to decide on a project that'll put you in a good position to ride the power wave when it comes if you read it. . . |
is that a question or a statement? |
Jarus:Ribadu doesn't have what it takes yet. . .all he has is the EFCC experience, ruling nigeria is much more than fighting corruption, if it's corruption he want's to fight then the presidency is not the place to fight it. What the president does is provide the political will to do so. . .being president involves a hell of a lot of 'give and take', i dont think Ribadu has reached the stage where he's mature enough to handle being the president of a country like nigeria, the civil service alone would give him enough trouble not to mention the power brokers, Ribadu is still too immature. It's sad though cos just by reading his interviews you can tell the guy is passionate about nigeria. As for buhari, from the way the guy was talking on the NVS interview, i wasn't impressed, the guy wasn't answering the important questions, im just dey dance up and down the place sha. . . From all inclinations Jonathan isn't the leader Nigeria needs but then neither are all the other candidates we have on board. oyb:right from the moment Yar Adua(RIP) appointed Fatima balaraba(RIP)(a french graduate even to PG level) as the minister of power i knew he wasn't going to do sh*t, he merely put the power sector reforms on hold and started jumping around. Jonathan's roadmap is merely a continuation of OBJ's power sector reforms(so it's OBJ that'll be giving y'all light in a sense ) Jonathan's plan is what the power sector needs. |
@jarus i no fit visit daily trust, my computer lists it as an attack site o as per article: so the fact that jonathan didn't make inspiring promises(like 6000MW, constant electricity in 6months etc) is now important abi? personally i dont think there's any candidate better than jonathan so far. . .if it was 2015 i would have voted for ribadu, but as far as i'm concerned the guy is letting all the praise singing get to him. Jonathan get's my vote simply because i can see he's trying to solve the power problem and i fear another person could come and set us back 4 years. . .he's simply the safest option! |
help by Kathryn Stockett. . .really cool book. . . |
jdoss: omowaleit:kai. . . see as these people dey tempt me to come back o. . .when this nonsense number portability go show? @samir that zone6 is a dead zone, there's 3g in maitama(where i work) and apo(where i live) but i haven't tried it yet sha. . .i don toss my glo sim tay tay |
Wallie:i'm willing to double whatever you offer him, i only sold the Eiffel Tower twice sha. . . mjones: mjones:nice entrance, that aside, are you supposed to specify a project before you start? how long is the programme? do you even like power in the fist place? |
Tmoni:congrats man, ummm quick question, how diff is the design you do before bidding different from the one's after you've been awarded the contract? cos i remember you usually submit designs with your bids and all right? oyb:i'm just starting to experience this feeling o. . .thank goodness for 25% markup(even though i know i'm going to answer for that when i get to heaven. . . ) |
Why does Jonathan have an issue with people saying the truth abt the state of the economy? Heard news of the Fed Gvt, tongue lashing Soludo for warning it over the state of health of the econmies. It appears Jonathan does take too kindly to criticism. For a leader, this is simply unacceptable
i think that makes him look like a weak person. . . |
@beaf do you have proof it never happened? na wa o. . .this your zeal in propagating the goodluck message at all costs is something else! |
i have a lot of respect for RB, he chose not to go the normal route. . .he could have lied or shut up back then or he could even have stayed back on as minister of special duties. . .men like him are rare! |
they all rent crowds jo. . .i'm sure even jonathan's people will rent crowds. . . |

spikedcylinder:i sabi some folks for this side wey dey plan to celebrate next promotion with 2nd wife, 14k USD will be small sturvs for them. . .are u game? ![]() |
Kunbee:de ja vu moment. . . |
hey pple, ok i'm feeling daft right now, we were in the running for a project(some really big sturvs) we had scaled through the technical evaluation and the financial evaluation is ongoing, that's where the K-leg sets in, we (me and the fellow engineers that prepared the bid documents) messed up the bid security, apparently it's meant to be valid for 28 days after the end of the validity of the bid itself(which is valid for 180days) we messed up and put 180 days alone(minus the 28days), apparently that is being used as a reason to disqualify us(the 180 days haven't ended yet o) i'm suspecting it's a witch-hunt of some sorts(we're actually spear-heading a witch-hunt of our own against some ppl sef. . . ). My boss is blaming one of the engineers(he called them into his office, i wasn't invited )even though he himself should have read the bid documents. This place don dey tire me, there's too much wahala going on in the office. . .almost er'one is in trouble(mostly over petty stuff), i've managed to avoid it so far, i'm suspecting it's cos of one project i'm working on which everyone somehow resulting in me being the only person that understands it. . .either way i'm tired of all this crap. There's a field project supposed to start sometime in december and january, i really dont want to be here after i'm done with that project, i'm far too young to be playing court politics. |
zayhal:do you think he understood the gravity of what he was doing? if he did then some punishment is in order(if na me na some serious cane be that). . .of course after explaining why what he was trying was wrong. or you could warn him sternly, depends on what you think is best. if he didn't/doesn't understand the consequences, then sit him down and explain why playing such play is only for adults and even when you're an adult you're not allowed to play like that with your family. . .dont get hysterical or anything, he wont understand why and it'll only confuse him more. You could tell him you'll have to punish him if you catch him doing anything like that again. it's important you are calm and serious when discussing it with him so he doesn't read the wrong meaning cos if your emotions tell him something different he might start to wonder "what's even in this thing that mummy is fussing over?" |
Sorry this isn't an article or anything like that. . . ![]() Day in day out, we keep hearing about this group of leaders/stakeholders meeting to discuss who their kinsmen will support, if it is not Ohaneze or Afenifere or Arewa it's South-south elders or Middle-Belters or something equally inane. . . my question is, who gave this people the right to barter our votes? What achievements do they have under their belt? who elected them elders? what gives them the right to dictate(in their minds) who igbo/yoruba/hausa/etc will vote for? truth is most of the kinsmen they claim to represent dont know them from adam, but still these set of people will convene meetings where they will make demands in exchange for the votes of their regions etc. What annoys me about the matter is that the government(politicians) takes these people serious and rewards them with patronage, thus helping to establish a cycle, no wonder there are so many vanguards, political associations, youth groups etc. and we the people somehow always end up kowtowing to the nusiances' plans, isn't it time we showed government that it's business is with us, it's us they need to appeal to not all these phony elders and stakeholders? |
@tai2 if you want to change the topic, go to your original post, click on 'modify post' and change what's written in the subject tab. . . i noticed you mentioned changing the topic a couple of pages back and on this page as well, maybe if you did it'd reduce the incidences of people misunderstanding what you're trying to pass across. now to business. . .lol i'm with pro01 when it comes to his last post about not making true control a magic formula for marriage and all. . .however where i'd like to modify his submission is that the 'theory of control' serves to change the way you think/act and hence it's like going to school, it doesn't make you a success automatically, what it does is give you a better shot at success. |
puskin:no vex. . .lol, i'm surrounded by too many non-engineers that feel like they know it all so at times person brain dey touch! |
vescucci:there's nothing to be ashamed of, quite a number of guys your age have been know to enjoy reading cosmopolitan. . . ![]() |
oyb:ahn oyb you want to kill me abi? i plead the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth amendments. . .in fact all join sef. @TOH sister, e jo e ma binu, i swear i didn't have you(or indeed any of your. . .appendages) in mind, i was merely posting under the infuence. . .i repent in dust and ashes. |
@tkb why you still go find that post to reply now? dont you know a man of your. . .endowment shouldn't be sweating the small stuff |
puskin:@puskin In engineering, setup is a world apart from commissioning. Usually, commissioning comes after installation and what we call the commissioning tests. . .to all intents and purposes, (from an engineering standpoint,) a project should only be commissioned when it's working. |
i agree with you, was watching one of them conference/symposium thingies on debt this weekend, and the lawmaker there could not contribute anything meaningful to the discussion, (he was supposed to be on the house committee on finance 0), if we had sensible people as lawmakers, the presidency would be forced to give themselves brain, but from the way things are going, if we dont wake up all these illiterate crooks will weasel their way into extra terms in the national assembly. |
