Ifedisky:where did you hear that gist? |
BlueDiva:but at least their politicians dont fly here to undergo operations now. . . of which, a scams afoot, an indian transformer manufacturing company is scheduled to win a bid to supply some transformers to some other people and now some people are leaking errr. . .less than stellar pictures of said indian company's workshop to some other people. . .no be only nigerians dey do wayo o. . .lmao but that said, all the indian-built stations i've come across have been badly built. . .kai, i remember my PHCN days, one day i dey question one indian contractor like say i be PHCN staff, the guy just dey fear im no know say na pencil dem use write my name for staff roll. |
even if shame no go gree make i paste screenshot i go paste here. . . ![]() @4ller i wan ask you something, is it ok to mail you? |
came across this. . . http://antal.com/location/nigeria.htm |
guy. . .the person that wrote the article probably doesn't know anything about the power sector. . .there's no how banks will be allowed to buy the power companies. . . we need to be really careful what we believe. Here's a more professional take on the matter FG receives six bids for consultancy on sale of state power companies |
wrong. . .they are bidding to be consultants for the process, esp the financial side. . . |
AjanleKoko:@Ajanlekoko and na indians write most of them power textbooks. . .na only you dey stop me from going international, i for don open indian chapter since ![]() @thread i dont know why northerners are so docile, the way these people allow themselves to be treated shocks me. There are some levels of respect/obeisance that should be reserved strictly for your parents. . .yep i'm the only southerner here and apart from being unnecessarily docile, er'one is always speaking in hausa, meinene? anyway sha trust me, i dey record any conversation wey i no fit jasi for onward transmission to my PA on launguage duties i've read the summary for that power reform and that thing is on point. . .simply proves what er'one in the sector knows yar' adua didn't do squat for the sector. . . Scheming and strategizing has been shifted to the next level, things are going much faster than i expected. |
@beaf have you taken a look at the power roadmap? http://www.nigeriapowerreform.org/downloads/ it makes sense o. . .i cant lie |
@Ajanlekoko nice one. . .errrrrr. . .i dont suppose you'd be able to confirm for me if indian girls really are as fine as the ones in the movies? ![]() @thread one mad girl has been singing/shouting off-key since morning. . .i'm not ruling out the fact that she might be doing it on purpose cos we're currently involved in a cold war(. . .she mis-jaboed). . .i've been trying to thinking up non-violent ways to shut her up and failing consistently. . .WTF, i swear a guy could never be this loud, if it isn't her talking on the phone every bloody day(newly engaged) it's her loud-arse ringtone. . .it didn't piss me off this much until her loud-mouth went off on a matter that concerns me. . . ![]() oga is not around at the moment, that's why my ears are being assaulted at the moment. . .i'm sooo not liking the female sex right now ![]() |
For those of you that are interested in reading what jonathan plans to do here's a link i haven't read it yet, so i cant comment on it now. . . |
@erico2k2 you somehow managed to avoid taking the entire foot off , but you still shot yourself though. . .do you know the difference between a privatized telecoms industry and what would happen in nigeria? in telecoms, govt didnt choose the price for them, they were allowed(within limits) to choose the price. In power however, it's the govt that has set the current prices and these prices are making PHCN run at a heavy loss, that is why privatization wont work, because whereas the telecoms companies all turned profits in less than 3 years, in power you'll turn a loss for close to 10 years. However, i hear tariff increase in part of the power roadmap, that hopefully, is the key ingredient required for any privatization plan in nigeria to have a chance. (BTW if a power company were to try to get it's capital back in 5years, y'all would have to pay an arm and a leg for electricity.) |
analogy and antonyms removed ke? |
@jamace what are their demands? the article you pasted above doesn't make sense. . .are the military saying they want to go back to the days of veterans taking over the streets in the name of unpaid pension? prior to PENCOM there was a lot of fraud going on at the military pensions board it's possible the anti-PENCOM people are those that stand to benefit from leaving things the way they were back then the chairman of PENCOM said(and i tend to agree) if there are any issues they should be solved administratively instead of going through policy reversals the way hookers go through prophylactics. |
it's almost certain, tariffs are going to go up, for the worldbank to be willing to drop money. . .well they're making all the right noises sha it'll soon be time to start job-hunting ![]() |
@tkb wetin man pikin fit do now? i go fill am o, i go sha make sure say kobo no dey stay that account sha! @thread meeennnn this strike was not a small thing o, the unions must have meant business, when we hadn't had light in the office by 2, i called the PHCN transmission station to ask them 'how far' and i was told that they weren't loaded(meaning the station was off) now that means that there was no electricity coming from shiroro, which in turn means that they probably switched off the generators, mennnnn that is some serious sturvs o. . .in my 4years in the system, i've never heard of them touch the generators in the name of strike o(especially since it takes around 48 hours to stabilize the grid after a collapse.) the significance of this is that the ENTIRE abuja was in the dark, Transcorp Hilton, ICC and Aso villa(yep. . .that one ) didn't have electricity, it is official o, the union people 'mean' Jonathan/sambo/PAC.of which i suppose dey call all the people i know for PHCN to do "i just called to greet you sir", that monetization must enter my hand small o! |
The office is boring as hell, I'm seriously holding myself back so i dont start to seem like the rebel, i wonder why majority of northerners are so timid, the thing dey tire person o. . . They want us to open salary accounts with unity bank, we all didn't like the idea and agreed that we would tell our boss we dont approve only for everyone to turn around and start filling account opening forms, seeing as i've been here for only 10weeks it's not in my place to rally the troops, i go just dey watch them. |
beaf, e be like say you dey like all these childish arguments o. . . |
@nellaluv you're seeing the PXE thingy cos you're pressing F12(that's for network boot), the blue screen of death is an entirely different thing. can you see the message displayed on the blue screen?(this is important) does your computer start in safe mode? |
@goggs my bad, i didn't look closely at your post, kai you be lawyer, see as you word the thing sef |
@funkybaby thanks for the update. . . |
honeric01:guy, why now?. . .are you trying to say nothing good can come out of nigeria? |
erico2k2:go on, shoot yourself in the foot. . .tell us what happened in the telecoms sector. . . |
goggs:i read that article, it wasn't glo that said that, from the phrasing, it was simply the reporter postulating. . . |
Sky Blue:yep the investors'll have more to lose, i never disagreed with that, my point was that we'd suffer as well. . . if where the money comes from doesn't matter, then why are the states being allowed only a minority holding in the distribution companies? i'm all for the privatization, but the tariff needs to be sorted out first, and if government doesn't sort that out, then selling the distribution companies wont make much of a difference! |
lajjy:payments(it took me all of five seconds) REFRAY |
Sky Blue:@skyblue *sigh* trust me, i understand the nigerian power system very well, when you hear the term 'national grid' what the technical people primarily refer to is the transmission grid not the distribution grid, the distribution zones are not interconnected the way you thing they are. I pasted that picture so you could see it was by regions not states, pray tell, when a region doesn't have enough power for it's own consumers why would it want to supply another region? we're not talking about other cities in the world, we're talking about nigeria, those cities dont have the same issues that we have here. i must say, you're starting to stray into operations and it's only fair to warn you that if you're planning to argue that with me, it wont be a fair fight in the least! |
@Jarus Thanks for the largess man, you can like to tell boys all the significant dates in your life make we open shop ontop your matter now |
Sky Blue:you fail to see my point, lose customers to who? the distribution companies are arranged regionally, so distribution companyA cant supply discoB's customers(see picture attached below), if you go back to generator, what's the point then?you'll merely be increasing your costs. The big companies might be able to afford that, but it'll most definitely put strain on a lot of nigerians. you cant deal with power the way you'd deal with any other service because among others, power is a monopoly. i think the issue here is that you dont know enough about the power sector to understand how things could possibly go wrong. if they lose their investment, then the economy will suffer worse that it's suffering now!
|
Sky Blue:lose customers to who? guy, chill out now, this is electricity we're talking about o, not your run-of-the-mill service. . .they won't be losing jack to anybody. where the money comes from is an indicator of how the company might be run now. . . |
Yes. Only those who've got money will be able to buy. Worry more about getting constant power supply. Abegi.
make that who've got money to waste. . .at the present tariff levels, it'll most likely be people who have money and are not really interested in quick returns because unless tariffs are increased before the sale, i doubt they'll be able to push through a tariff rise after buying the company and the only people i think that can pull that off are people that have stolen money. . .correct me if i'm wrong! |
^^^ as per computer model, it should have a sticker that shows the model now. your info isn't comprehensive enough, apart from that PXE thingy that you posted, there should be another error now. . .the PXE-something comes before you get to the menu were u can select safe mode and all the PXE error simply means that your computer is trying to but from a network connection and isn't finding one, thats not enough reason for your computer not to startup as the computer should automatically try other media. . .can you run through what happens for us?start from when you switch on your computer |
