Actually.... Discos are the weakest link in the electricity industry. Their performance is appalling and grossly inadequate.

Available generation capacity is about 7000MW but discos can/will only distribute about 3500MW due to their inadequacies and inefficiencies.

So there's a large generation capacity under-utilisation due to discos.
How bro? I do not know where you got that 7000MW from but know that actual energy generated differs from generating capacity. Since energy cannot be stored, if the DISCOs distribute far below what they got from the grid as you have suggested, it is their own loss because they have to pay for a service they are not selling. Most of the DISCOs have expressed their willingness to exit the system time and time again, should government be ready to refund a part of their investments in the sector. The government is still the biggest bottleneck of the Power sector. But then again, they seem helpless. The only policies that can palcate the rot in the Energy sector, if enacted, will seem anti-people.
Politics / Re: Is President Buhari Right About The Nigerian Media? by Nevee: 11:37am On Oct 27, 2018
Lol this man is confused. One major thing that always gives President Buhari off as “incompetent” is his body language. For example, you claimed to have ordered the IGP to go to Benue, only for you to hear on National TV that he defied those orders and nothing happened afterwards. Crisis here and there, and you never visit these places.

You don’t grant press interviews and media chats unlike other past presidents but you now have the guts to accuse the media of undermining your achievements lol. Truth is, at this time, even the media cannot cleanse the stench of your incompetence. Exactly what happened to Jonathan, despite all the propaganda and several media antics to foist him on us, they were all rendered futile.

Wow! What a prompt response from a president. The victims of the Kaduna violence should be expecting to receive their condolences and nothing more next week (if they are so lucky). What a sensitive president we have.

I see a SE/SS V.P candidate on PDP’s ticket. Say Ben Bruce or any of the (ex-) governors.

Bolustical:
The PDP has a lot of hurdles to cross. Even after the winner is declared tomorrow, there is the hurdle of the post-primaries crisis

And the big question of where the VP comes from- this will determine how serious the PDP and other Nigerians take the Igbos.
Honestly, a PDP post-primaries crisis looks inevitable. They seem to have promised what they don’t have, all in a bid to attract the aggrieved ex-APC members. How do you manage two (and more) captains in a ship?

Atiku, Saraki or Kwankwaso in no particular order. Irregardless of who ends up being the flag bearer, PDP is a dead on arrival project. The little hope they seem to be having is largely due to the incompetences of the present government. I don’t know why it’s hard for Nigerians to be forward-looking. Why should we make it a choice again between PDP and APC when both of them have failed us?

You cannot completely restrict heavy duty vehicles to night movement, some of them haul perishable goods. This particular case happened at 5am, if they can't move at 5, I wonder when they can. This accident was caused by bad road.
Hmmm...very true though. Whether na bad road or unwarranted tanker movement due to lack of viable alternatives, bottom line is the government has failed us and we can’t continue this way lest we keep having the same results.
Travel / Re: Fire Explosion At Lagos Badagry Expressway .......beside Ojo Military Barracks by Nevee: 6:26am On Oct 02, 2018
I remember Fashola at some point restricted the movement of these trucks to the night. I don’t know why Ambode can’t do same. Is this how we’ll keep losing lives and properties to these carelessness and irresponsibility?

Happy independence, my country. You have slumbered too long. You have tarried in standing up to fight your oppressors. Our leaders have undermined and taken undue advantage of your great potentials. But fight on, you will overcome someday.

God bless Nigeria and her people!

PS: Weird as it may seem, I still go about shoulders high and with much pride of being a Nigerian. I just can’t explain it neither do I know why.

CodeTemplar:
Learn to read and understand before attacking people.
They are proposing a loan system where student borrow to pay their fees while in school and pay back after graduation when they start earning. This arrangement will eliminate the situation where govt subsidizes poor students through school and they end up becoming prostitutes and yahoo boys with high taste but no sellable skills to satisfy their wants.
Lol making referrals to the past passes as an attack? Anyway, I read and understood it and I still maintain my stance. What sham in the guise of a loan system? With which jobs are they going to pay back the 4-6 million? N-Power’s 30k? Or with unemployment that has been averaging 20% over 4 years now? This is putting the cart before the horse. Some people are just about to become overnight billionaires (mark these words). The banks will provide the funds, most of the loans will go bad, banks will run back to government, bailouts will be provided of course because of how sensitive the banking/financial system is, banks and this soon-to-be billionaires would start making untrue and unverifiable cases of their loans to the scheme going bad (just as the oil subsidy saga) and like that another leakage for sucking up public funds will be created. Lol do you know how many years it takes the average Nigerian graduate to get an “okay job” after graduation? And that’s if they eventually do. Or why did you suggest in your comment that graduates leave school only to end up being yahoo boys and prostitutes? I guess there were jobs for them but they only opted to thread the path of crime. Or is it the loan obtained that will give students the requisite skills to make them employable? Maybe the loan system comes with the magic of overhauling our outdated educational curriculum.

There’s a UN prescribed percentage of your budget that should go into finding education, you haven’t worked on that. Your senators, governors and other public office holders account for a large chunk of your recurring expenditure, you are not even thinking of fixing those. In this year alone, 123 million naira was proposed in the budget for buying “catering equipments and materials” in Aso-rock alone, 94 million naira of tax payers’ sweat was expended on the same catering equipments last year, honorarium and sitting allowance at the state house stood at 556 million naira grin or how about 200 million budgeted every year for buying computers in Aso-rock. A budget that 30 percent of it will be financed by borrowing and someone is justifying another move to further defraud the poor. I don’t know how we have become so docile that we just accept whatever is thrown at us. These animals in human skin carting away our common good whilst we cheer on is the new norm. God! There was a country indeed.

I still maintain that this is not workable at the moment pls. The negatives are way more than the positives and that will only cost the government and our society more, even non-monetarily.

Even with minimum wage at 18k? Na wa o. The same Babalakin attended a public university when our educational system was very much solid yet affordable. Now, he wants to cut off majority’s access to education with this anti-people policy. I hope they are ready to build more prisons though? There are so many leakages in this porous system yet to be blocked, yet you want to create another opportunity for rent seeking. Make the most of the “little” you have first. Some many leaders bereft of ideas.

Comparing 8years rule of PDP( Oyinlola) to that of APC( Aregbesola) in terms of security, education, social and infrastructural development, I give it to APC. But in terms of civil servants welfare, I give it to PDP. Whoever emerges the winner must improve on the recent developmental stride Osun is experiencing because continuity attracts investment and investors both domestic and foreign into our state.

NO TO CORRUPTION AND BAD GOVERNANCE...

YES TO GOOD GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY
