In the scheme of things, these are the players, Nigeria is just a spectator. This is the awful and hurtful truth. Not to say she can not turn her fortunes around, anyway.
PoliticsRe: Senate Reacts To Arrest Of Innocent Chukwuma, Innoson Motors Chief by Nevee:
I am really not happy with the kind of treatment being meted on this man. Very bad. Saw one of his recent interviews where he made several fact-backed claims. Went ahead to challenge GTB in court with the evidence he had and when it was GTB's turn to provide theirs (as the court requested), they claimed all the documents were lost in a fire accident, meanwhile, there's still no record of any occurence of such accident.

The likes of Rockefeller, Carnegie, J.P Morgan, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Vanderbilt, Nikola Tesla and others who "built" America were not treated this way. At least, not initially.

Hope the Senate treats this fairly.

13.48% is not good enough.
Honestly...for a 5 year bond with a minimum subscription of 10 million. Are the projects they intend to execute with the funds self-liquidating? I don't think the risk involved commiserates with the returns being offered except there are other perks not captured above. I'll rather opt for the FGN Savings bond. Seems this is for corporates that are willing to buy into the Green revolution.

If her religion forbids her from removing the hijab, then let her religion call her to bar. That same religion forbids you from swearing, yet you wanted to enter the hall to take an oath. That's hypocrisy.

Going foward, they better allow members of the white garment churches to be called to bar in their robes too because I see the issue being resolved in her favour with the intervention of a few influential fanatics.

The Qur'an or Bible does not supercede our constitution.

The pursuit of power! You don't have to be at the corridor of power to make meaningful impact and affect lives positively.

Both Buhari and Atiku should take the back seat abeg.

You have to be able to put your house in order before making an attempt to put Nigeria in order.

The battle within the PDP has only prevented it from playing its role as a formidable opppsition and to the advantage of APC.
PoliticsRe: PDP Convention 2017: Atiku Arrives Eagle Square (Photos) by Nevee:
Why are we making it seem like it has to be between Buhari and Atiku when it's crystal clear they both aren't capable of turning around the forunes of the present Nigeria? In fact, they have both contributed significantly to Nigeria's doom.

Neither Atiku nor Buhari deserves another chance!

Your position has the stability/consistency of quicksilver.

I dont suffer those who build castles in the air gladly.

The situation of the country is in extremis. If is the one to help return momentum back the current pervasive inertia, so be it.

Buhari has nothing to offer. It is churlish asking a man to give what he does not have.

Stop allowing primordial considerations becloud your objectivity.
Okay.

You obviously dont know what you are talking about..

Are you not ashamed to even speculate on APC victory on the face of the fact that the party as embodied by Buhari is an unparalleled disaster?

To even consider that moments ago you were weakly trying to fob cheap morality on us.

No nihilist paradise. We want Buhari and his stifling heat out!
Lol...easy! I don't make comments with an intent to touch nerves. You have to calm down, put your sentiments aside and open your mind to undertsand basic opinions that stem from reality.

Lol...where did I force morality on "us"? Pls refer.

I honestly want Buhari out of Aso Rock as much as you do (perhaps, much more). But not to be replaced by a greater monumentally damaging Atiku. However, if it so happens that Atiku and Buhari are placed side ny side in 2019, Buhari seem to have a upper hand of victory.

In summary, I don't support Buhari/Atiku but Buhari may appeal more to people, if both eventually sweat it out at the polls at 2019.

Btw, I prefer to engage in objective arguments where parties learn from each other, not throwing tantrums.

PS: See my first comment on this topic for my choice/recommendations for 2019.

I didnt miss jack...

We are tired of lazy idealism. How many of your so-called elites and intelligentsia participate actively in the electoral process?

Talk is cheap.

In any case, expediency is a key consideration in politics. It favours Atiku at this moment.
Lol...you should be tired of doing things the same way and expecting different results too.

The same game that lead them packing out of Aso Rock in 2019.

I am sure APC is really praying that PDP serves into it's hands by placing Atiku as it's presidential candidate so as to kill and bury Atiku's ambition even before the elections. They are very good at that.

This is what happens when you're interested in the seizure of power (by all means) than addressing the needs of those that would deliver the power to you.

I still insist that neither Buhari nor Atiku is the change Nigeria currently needs.

Oga, we are discussing serious business here and emotional hypotheses.

Politics is a game of numbers. How many of those you mentioned can muster any semblance of clout against Buhari in an election where the majority of voters would be alamajiris and talakawas?

As I said, this game is no mathematics...
"...save for the ignorant majority (smh!)". You probably missed that part of my comment.

And I don't know why we always think politics and good governance are mutually exclusive.

Those I mentioned can win irregardless, let them have the support of the business community and enlightened Nigerians, then we'd know the significance of influence in the political sphere.

Even at that, Atiku (with his soiled hands) can never restore the lost glory of PDP because I don't see him winning even a bed ridden Buhari.

Very sad, we are gradually being impeded to choose the lesser of these two evils, come 2019.
PoliticsRe: PDP Elective Convention 2017: Live Monitoring And Updates by Nevee: 10:11am On Dec 09, 2017
If PDP wants their rebirth ideology to be taken, atleast, with a pinch of salt, Bode George shouldn't be made the Chairman and Atiku should not be their flag bearer at the 2019 presidential elections. These guys contributed significantly to plunging Nigeria into the crisis it wallows in today.

Give me a Donald Duke, Charles Soludo or Pat Utomi as your presidential candidate and I'll gladly vote for you, so as every other well-meaning Nigerian, save for the ignorant majority (smh!).

All these zoning and political permutations will never work just as they've never.

The turn around Nigeria needs will never come from these old rogues- PDP and APC.

Nigeria seff...

BusinessRe: Understanding Bank Lending by Nevee:
Quite enlightening. So many opportunities exist in our Financial system. That's one place your money can sweat for you and make returns even while you are sleeping (and probably snoring) on your bed. But the information gap is just too wide.

I still feel if the general public have a proper knowledge of some of these opportunities, I doubt they would still be leaving their money lying fallow in commercial banks.

"Authority stealing pass armed robbery. Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!
We Africans we must do something about this robbery. Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!". Coined from Fela's Authority Stealing.

My people, the pen is indeed mightier than the sword.

Where are those enemies of Nigeria that are always chanting "there is hope for Nigeria"? Yes, they are enemies because if they aren't they would acknowledge that the present Nigerian system is demented, understand it and proffer practical solutions.

Truth is, life is not balanced. It is the existence of foolishness that makes wisdom to be much valued, desired and appreciated. Similarly, it is the existence of Nigeria (and the likes) that makes the advanced countries (like America) to be highly revered today. Otherwise, we would have thought that being at an advanced stage of development is the norm, but the likes of Nigeria (where mediocrity thrives greatly) have opened our eyes widely to see that the America, Britain et.al we see today are a result of a conscious, deliberate and relentless efforts to make things work.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Filling Stations In Lekki Not Selling Fuel? by Nevee: 11:22pm On Dec 04, 2017
sekeyso:
You don't sound like one who's a participant. Indeed their profits is very very tiny as most depends on turn over to make ends meet . As at today, the depots sell to marketers at 145 minus others miscellaneous expenses. That explains why most filling stations are not selling because they can't buy at that rate and still sell at 145. Forget about what inform NNPC is dishing out to the public, of course you don't expect them to say otherwise.
Lol...no condition is permanent. When PPMC was selling to them at #80 and they were reselling to consumers at #150, there was no uproar. The marketers are used to making huge profits from exploitation which they are finding hard to maintain.

No matter the situation, they will NEVER run at a loss. They'd rather push us to a situation of scarcity where the burden finally rests on the consumers.

This is not in defense of NNPC at all. Their own is another problem in it's entirety.

Sanusi, during his tenure as the CBN governor, gave a detailed analysis of how these marketers exploited both the government and the people. Please see the attcahed link for the video. I'd love to hear your opinion on it. I'm willing to learn.

Bro pls don't say what u dont know. Fuel is scarce at the depot and very expensive. As at today they sell 143 even at the so called NNPC depot. Imagine buying at the rate from the depot? When u add other expenses to it transport and other logistics its very impossible to sell at 145. If care is not take bfor Friday there would be huge scarcity
Lol...Brother, it is not far from the second reason I gave above that the depots might be short of supply.

I don't know what rates depots sold today and if your claims that the official rate at the depot is 145 is true, then that is very worrisome!!!
Last I heard was a friend transferring his tickets from Ejigbo to Warri for loading since Lagos was not forthcoming.

Anyway, fuel scarcity is not unusual in Nigeria.
