Christianity EtcRe: I Believe Pastor Chris Should Be Respected by newmi(m): 5:23pm On Nov 05, 2011
aletheia:
The prophets of Mammon and disciples of Balaam are at it again. . .trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Chris Oyakhilome is a thief according to the Laws of Nigeria:

How do I know that Chris Oyakhilome is a thief;
1) The goods in question were stolen and he took possession of them:

2) The claims that he did not know that the goods in question were stolen falls flat, because it is clearly established that this was brought to his attention:

Moreover Chris Oyakhilome can. . .be deemed to have such knowledge if judging from circumstances of the case, a reasonable man ought to have suspected the property in question to have been stolen. Certainly common sense not to talk of the Holy Spirit would have told Chris that as a cashier with no visible other source of income, Agada certainly could not be in a position to afford such "sowing". A genuine pastor will ask questions but the greedy and rapacious lupine that is Chris deliberately and willfully ignored this.

3) Even the pastor of the Ifako branch was willing to do the right thing but for. . .

So I maintain that not only is Chris Oyakhilome a thief but he is a modern Pharisee who so loves money:

Another rubbish
I spit on this!

[b]COVENANT UNIVERSITY, N640,000 a semester.

ALL OF THESE UNIVERSITIES WERE BUILT FROM TITHES AND OFFERINGS OF THE COMMON PEOPLE WHO NOW CAN'T AFFORD TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN THERE.  Where have the morals of the church gone?  These schools were all built by the  sweat of  the church members who kept  sowing seeds,  special offering seeds, first fruit seed,  redemption seed, thanks giving  seed, harvest  seed, tithes, pastors birthday seed,  church  building seed, evangelism seed,  father’s day  seed, mother’s day seed, children  day  seed, pastors cake seed, olive oil seed,  etc.  These schools are now elite schools, only for the rich politician’s children. The gainers then use the proceeds to buy private plane and jets to fly up high in luxury while their members sleep hungry and the next Sunday, they will read Malachi 3:6-12

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right To Pray For God To Be With You? by newmi(m): 8:07pm On Oct 26, 2011
Emmanuel is God with is but the ultimate it God in us that is the indwelling presence of the almighty tangibly manifested by the Holy Spirit of whom Jesus said John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever" This statement as at the time it was being said by Jesus Christ was a promissory note but in Acts 2 on the day Pentecost it became a reality as the devotees were gathered together at the upper room.

The Holy Spirit in here now and He is God with us now, He is the presence of the Father. The point is as Christians we already have an assurance of the presence of God if all there should be any form of prayer we only pray in the light of re-affirming our awareness of the tangibility of that presence otherwise it is not necessary

A friend of mine works in a company that is having a face off with them right now over their inability to pay for services rendered. The Church in question is in Benin City and owes for months now.I learnt its their stock in trade and they usually hide under all sorts of pretenses hoping that the debt will die off. Its always the Pastor in charge has travelled to the USA or they are having Special Program and no one is around to sign!!. For 8 months and counting. The company is dragging them to court, i heard, under 419 charges. Is it ok, for people to hide under Religious cloaks and defraud others, with the belief that once they are called "Man of God" or "Pastor" they will be treated with reverence and everyone will turn blind eye to their nonsense tricks. I am bringing this up cos i saw the correspondences between the church and the company. They are pure fraud!!

It is this Spirit of truth spoken of by Jesus that exposes any form of falsehood in the light of the all encompassing and accurately infinitive wisdom of the Father.
We can shed light on wrong teaches and erring doctrines but you see the mistake many of these people who flaunt themselves on an ostentatious display of pride and ignorance claiming and ascribing to themselves the task of exposing false prophets is that a wrong or false doctribg or teachind does equal to a false teacher of prophet because many it simple the level if their revelation and exposure to the word of God.
Acts 19:1-5
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

,You know l really wonder what in the world makes some people fill qualified to think that it is in their place to expose false prophets what they fail to recognize is that it takes only the Spurit of God to expose the "unfruitfull works of darkness", you cannot expose wrong with share extracts coined from one bible scholar or seminary.

Firstly, I observed that a lot of refrences were made to the poor in their villages. My question is this, why I'd it the pastor that should better their lives, what happened to the goverment officials there? Even if the pastor helps them, how many famileis will he satisfy and for how long? Let's be real here. Secondly, I'm fully aware of the help pastors render to people and I can give instances: building of water bore holes in villages, picking children from the streets, feedingn housing and training them in good schools and some even assist their state goverment. Thirdly, have you mr poster ever thought about other upcoming pastors? I used to have one close to my former house. He had being there for years and still remained the same but I've encountered these bigger churches and pastors help the upcoming ones. When Jesus died on the cross, poverty was nailed with him. we should come to the realization that poverty died on the cross and if you have christ, you have wealth and riches. It we walk with this consciousness, we wouldn't have time to discuss pastors wealth because they are also walking in that consciousness.
kudos
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right for a Christian to Expose False Prophets and False Teaching ? by newmi(m): 3:19pm On Oct 24, 2011
"Judging"and "exposing" are two mutually exclusive terms. Sure enough we should judge afterall that's why we the spirit of discernment to know and distinguish what is write from what is wrong but be that as it though l am yet to see an instance in scripture that says "expose a false prophet" rather What we read are admonitions such as this from the apostle Paul in Philippians 3:2
"Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision" also in like manner "beware of false prophets" etc
we are not told to "expose" rather we told to "beware". ok what are you trying to say (someone may wish to ask are you saying that we should keep mute while evil prevail? No The wisdom God is jurisprudent enough to determine their fate ". . .unto his master stands or fall"
No man can fight successfully for God intact He ceases to be God the day we think He needs man to fight for Him.
Please l stand to be corrected nonetheless though l have made my views. thank u
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right for a Christian to Expose False Prophets and False Teaching ? by newmi(m): 2:15pm On Oct 24, 2011
,As Christians we should as a matter of truth be able to judge what is right from what is wrong because the bible says in Hebrews 5:14
"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,[ even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil"
Even Jesus himself speaking to the religious leaders and scribes. and to the world at large becos
John 7:24
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. ,
Question: What is this righteous judgement?
It a judgement based on the tenants. and ddictates of the WORD OF God.
Christianity EtcLets Pray For Our Leaders Whether they are Good Or Bad makes no difference by newmi(op): 12:18pm On Oct 24, 2011
,1 Timothy 2:1-4
"1 FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
2 For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that[ outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life[ and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. ,
3 For such[ praying] is good and right, and[ it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,
4 Who wishes all men to be saved and[ increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the[ divine] Truth",

According to scriptures, it is important that we pray for those who are in positions of power on whose shoulders the responsibility of a people has been laid.
Today by the leadership of God Spirit and a response to His righteous prompting during my time of devotion l wish begin a forum that will be dedicated to praying for our leaders and rulers consequently, l wish to extend an invitation to all who are like minded and who appreciates the urgency of the concern to join me as we pray together giving absolutely no considerations to denominational, ethnic and doctrinal differences.
God bless you

So what if you saw snake well u may as well have seen a lizard or a worm.
Yes dreams are a unique means of communication but as Christian we regulate our dreams and have the ability to chose what to accept and what to ignore and reject the most important thing we attach meanings to dreams on the grounds of its consistency with the word.

^^ I think when the Bible speaks about perilous times, it goes beyond people finding it difficult to lending a helping hand to other folks.

The point, I think, that the OP wanted to highlight is that men would be lovers of themselves (2 Timothy 3:2). In a nutshell, even those who claim to be working for the Lord are too preoccupied with loving themselves - and the parody tries to highlight the issue with an unspoken question: should genuinely called servants of Christ focus so much on themslves? Is there not something wrong with the phenomenon of ministers competing to show off themselves in massive billboards and other media as if that is the message itself of Christ?
You know what l concur but my little concern is simple which is why must we always find ways to narrow matters in the direction of pastors and men of God which in most case eight out ten are unnecessary. Now this is not to displace the possibility for such to happen within the church but to narrow it always in that direction is simply suggesting that there are no true pastors or church learder. Selfishness shows up everywhere and with everyone including me and you but it is the grace of God that enable us to tame thatdesire to want vent our selfishness.
Philippians 2:13
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of[ his] good pleasure.
Christianity EtcRe: Men As Lovers Of Themselves by newmi(m): 11:24am On Oct 22, 2011
There is no better time in the history of man that best describes what the last days epitomise especially when we into retrospect the current state of economic turmoil and financial disarray the global market has progressively and helplessly deteriorate to such that nation who before were enviable models to emulate but have become nothing but a mere shadow of their past living the of the pack with nothing to be desired.
No one excepted we need to be sensitive the leadership of God's to prompt us serving a check for on order to avoid falling prey to this spirit of the last days, which summed up in SELFISHNESS.
Yes selflessness is the broad name because we kill, steal, cheat, betray, victimize and oppress others all because of selfishness. Even selfishness is the reason commit suicide and are proud.
Selfishness is manifesTed when credence and gratification preferably accorded "self" instead of "love"
Christianity EtcRe: Men As Lovers Of Themselves by newmi(m): 10:44am On Oct 22, 2011
,2 Timothy 3:1-2
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ,
The prophecy is that in the last days men shall be lovers of their own selves for the reason being that PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME.
The. amplified version gives a clearer picture "2 Timothy 3:1
1 BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come( set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble[ hard to deal with and hard to bear]"
in fact the Newliving Translation says that in the last days it is that going to be very difficult to be Christian.

why is this so well first of we are in the last days and due to the magnitude of stress, hardship and the pressure that life 's daily demands makes on us many people would become too busy trying to solve their problem such that it would only take the pureness and selfless love of Christ Jesus which is spread abroad in our hearts to spear moments of concentrating on our own needs and lend a helping hand to some else

,l get the point, no one can be won to Christ through argument or offence-driven criticism notwithstanding though this is not to insinuate that there is no room for sincere exchange of knowledge and constructive criticism within the radius of love and mutual respect.

Also a highly successful entrepreneurial carpenter from Nazareth, he has pioneered a highly successful school of discipleship and has traveled the world to perform stupendous miracles and propound theological exegesis. He is the author of the bestsellers Sermon on the Mount; Parable of the Sower; and our Lord’s Prayer! In addition, he has performed several chart-topping miracles, including feeding 5000, raising the dead, extracting money from the mouth of a fish, walking on water and healing the sick. His weekly temple program, Father’s work, appears at the main temple in Jerusalem with several satellite programs in Nazareth, Capernaum, Samaria and. Evangelist Christ is the founder and pastor of christianity, one of the fastest-growing faiths in the world, where he pastors an interracial congregation of more than 1 billion members."

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Have you ever wondered why billboards that supposedly advertise christian programs have the largest space reserved for the face of the "host pastor"? Have you wondered why so-called "ministers" of God now have PA's, booking officers, iPad/iPhone apps, flashy websites that describes them more than the message they claim to be spreading?
Ever wondered why every single minister today has written a book that they plug far more than the bible itself? Ever wondered why the "info" section for facebook ministers is a disgusting tome on how important they think they are?

Indeed we are in the last days.

is your offence directed towards Pastors or churches maximizing today's technologies for the gospel or perhaps is the manner the maximization is being done?
