God is a loving God because love is His nature, love is the comprehensive and complete essence of His being, He coldn't be anything other than (more appropriately put) The Loving God. 1John 4:7 "Beloved, let us ;ove one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." Love proceeds and originates from God because He is the source, origin, and totality of love 1John 4:8 "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love". John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life". |
nuclearboy:This does not explain why your mind is so corrupt to think and suggess things l said even your lovely mother won't be proud to hear that you said such and such to the whole world sugesting to us the character of your spirit and the corruptness of the environment of your mind and twisted disfunctionality of your thought path thats an apology. But in any case, it does quietly explains how negatively oriented you have been programmed to reason and see things. Because there is no better way to explain how that on NL all you can see is a celebration of satan that condemned, frustrated and defeated foe, no l can never not even for a second see satan celebrated because he doesn't deserve it let alone the recognition. Jesus Christ is our great Lord and King, unto Him shall be the gathering of the people be and His name shall be praised beyond the ideas and adenda of all men, to Him be all the praise and glory in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on NL, and in the nations of the world forever (Amen) l love nuclearboy and be sure that am praying for you ![]() |
The Question really is not whether or not (it is recorded) Jesus Christ and His Disciples paid tithes, the most important and foundamental fact is simply what l have earlier on stated which is that tithing is one of the several practises that stretches beyond the abrogation of the law, not only because it is based on principle but because it pre-exhisted the introduction and reign of the law. l stated that the priesthood of our great Lord and High Priest- Jesus Christ is structured after that of a (man) we bearly know much about because very few is revealed to us in the scripture concerning this larger than life figure called Melchizedek Hebrews 5:6 "As he saith also in another [place]. Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek" And thank God one of the very few revealed information recorded for us about this "King-Priest" and the dimension and style in terms of activity and function characterized with the order of his priesthood is that record of tithing recorded in Gen 14:18-20. Who knows perhaps this was recorded to preparing our hearts for questions like this in years to come because the bible tells us that "all scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works". (2Timothy 3:16-17). so if the Spirit of God deemed it ncessary to inspire holy men like the writer of this account we have in Genesis 14 to preserve this account for us, then its for the purpose for which we are told the Holy Spirit inspires scriptures as we read in 2 Tim 3:16-17. The priesthood of Jesus Christ is for ever just like that of Melchizedek not like that of the Aaronic order and we see that tithing was a part of his priestly order; he received tithes as the Priest (perhaps that may be the reason why there is no record of Jesus Christ giving tithes) The question again l repeat is not whether or not Jesus or/and His disciples gave tithe but rather we understand that based on scripture tithing is a part of the priestly order of Jesus Christ. Do you agree that we don't know every thing why not imagine if perhaps this is one of those things you have not seen from this perspective. This is based on scripture and not any man's theology and idea. My thanks goes particularly to melijah77 for the manner with which he has maturely responded to post. |
@Joagbaje Some people foolishness needs to be answered. The word of God is a double edge. Read the second part of that scripture. Proverbs 26:5 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. |
nuclearboy:Nuclearbonboi your boyish baby mouth has started running loosed like a tap again, l thought l surgically sealed it? Just look at your life and how confused and pathetically frustrated you have turned out. The same you is suggesting that these posters are one and the same person and at the same also shamefully suggesting something your mother will not be proud about to hear you said to the old world, how could you with all your public profession of being a christian even conceive let alone say such despecable ideas. You mean to tell the whole world that your "christian" mind can conviniently provide an accommodation for for sure mundain and corrupt ideas and thought trends, oh what an ideal christian you really are, can you see how you symphathetically shooting yourself on the foot. How one individual sleep with himself (shameful boy) Well in case you are not aware boy; you can never make sense on nairaland again (thats if you may have done in the past), call it a curse or whatever the ball is in your court because you have successfully proven again and again how irresponsibly corrupt minded you are. I have consistently told you to grow up maybe from nuclearboy to nuclearman or better still why not change your name l think the name it really affecting your "true self" Jesus Christ! Good Lord! What a mind ![]() |
melijah77:(please note that this reply is not intended to ague or rubbish your opinion) thank you Very well said, truely the law has been abrogated and set aside; how? Because Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the law. Now the phrase “ACCORDING TO THE LAW" in the scripture above does not in actual fact suggess that the practice of tithing was "instituted" under/by the law because if you read the same verse of scripture in another translation you'd observe clearity "And those of the descendants of Levi eho receive the priesthood are authorized by the Law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brethren, though these have sprung from Abraham"(WNT) The law is never credited any where in scripture for instituting the practice of tithing rather the law provided the legitimate and conducive environment it to be effectively practiced i.e if l may paraphrase: “the descendants of Levi--- by the authority of the law took tithes from the people" Though it is true that the law has been set aside that doesn't outrightly renders everything observed under the law as obliterated as well, remember the law was only a shadow of the real, the new testament was concealed in the old and in the dispensation of the fulness of time, the old was revealed and fulfilled in the new. There are things though under the law, that were based on some generic-encompassing spiritual principles that God has set in motion which stretches beyond the regime of the law. For instance, when the law speaks about honouring your father and mother (Genesis 20:12), this didn't end with the law or do you(melijah77) on a personal ground use that as excuse to dishonour your parents no because we are even reminded not only by Jesus but by the apostle paul: Ephesians 6:2 "Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise)" Also another example sited under the law is the aspect of stealing, commiting of adultery, killing, bearing false witness, to covet which today in the new testament we don't foolishly take the abrogation of the law as an excuse to begin to indulge in them or do go around killing, stealing ang sleepping with people's spouses promiscuously all in the name of " oh the law of the old testament has been set aside"? The apostle paul made some emphasis Romans 13:9 "For this, Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall steal, Thou shall not bear false witness, Thou shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself" That is they still are operative but summed up in "thou shall love thy neighbour as thysely" Ephesian 4:28 "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth" Now be that as it may, it is important that we understand that tithing pre-existed the emergence of the law. The first individual recorded in scripture to have given a tithe was papa Abraham to Melchizedek described as "the king of Salam and a priest of the most high God" (Genesis 14:18-20). It is this same Melchizedek of whom it is said that the priesthood of Jesus Christ is likened to (Hebrews 6:20, "Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek" ![]() "having become, like Melchizedek, a high priest for ever"(WNT). The priesthood of Jesus was not likened to those of the priest under the law but rather He bought an end to that order. Now if the priesthood of Jesus Christ is for ever after the order of Melchizedek, then the practices carried out after that order by Melchizedek lives on because the office of his priesthood knows no end. Thank you |
My dear lysaa don't regard this nuclearbonboi na boy omo kekere Every time l read a post by nuclearbonboi what comes to my mind is a 21st century-type Pharisee functioning in the ranks of his ancestors and you know the only response deserving of him what Jesus Christ himself told his(nuclearbonboi) fathers John 5:40-47 "And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from men. But l know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not honour that cometh from God only? ---” Se omo bobo nuclear you are seeing the road you fathers took hmmmm John 8:42-44 nd 47 "---if G od were your Father, ye would love me: for l proceeded forth and came from God; neither came l of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father if it., ---He that is God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God." Can you see you life? This boy is a real time enemy of the church of Jesus Christ. Ok you are always quoting that scripture no problem please can you tell us based on your acclaimed knowledge of scripture kindly suggess to us any true Man of God and church that if you had your way (since you " claim to be campaigning for The Christ and His church" you'd be glad believers and potential believers alike should adhere toTell us which Man of God or pastor you would say is the real one or IS IT YOU OR YOUR FRIEND KUNLEOSHOB ![]() |
Thanks joagbaje for this thread. I hope nuclearboy will learn from it |
Presently, there is no politician in his class that can be trusted we can only pray for him to do so. |
When God does something new, among several things there is freshness of ideas and a renewed hope to dream again. Proverbs 4:18 "The path of the just [is] as a shining light, that shineth more amd more unto the perfect day." (Kjv) When there is something to look towards to there is a drive to get a go at it, that is why one of the most terrible state to fine oneself is in a state of gross discouragement. It takes the word of God make a discouraged man succeed. |
Joagbaje:My brother as if you know becos its not delibrate o ![]() Thank anyway |

@poster What is about eating in your dream you eould want to stop except if the food isn't sweet or good because l have not found any where in scripture making reference to either eating or not eating in ones dream being good or bad. Am aware that there are alot of christians who have been told that eating in the dream has this significance, has that conotation and so on most of which are always negative but the bible speaks of the christian being subject to any such things because if a man be in Christ he is a new creation (2corinthians 5:17) and even if at all there is any chance of it being true, the bible says in the book of mark 16:17 "And these signs will follow them that believe: in my name they will drive out demons they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all, " So my dear l think you rather get sleepless nghts over discovery more our rights and privilleges in christ as a christian that is if you are already one by virtue of being bornagain otherwise you need to be bornagain which brings you under the jurisdiction of Jesus' administration |
mabell:Well interestingly, the apostle James made a profound statement in James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultles is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress, " This statement gives us a clue into God mind. He says ", to look after orphans, in their distress, " Orphans, widows these are just links doesn't mean that except he or she is an orphan or a widow else no help rather he gives us the idea how that we need to look out for sure distressed persons and do as occassion demands of us which in the context of ourdiscuss could possibly be an outright adoption. More importantly, children are gifts from God and as sure deserves all the tender care, love, and attention any gift considered precious would demand and you would kindly agree with me that there couldn't possibly be any home most appropriate and fitting enough to raise a child other than that of (true bible believing) christians. Thank you |

Question 2 – Arehone (UK): Dear Pastor Chris, is it right for a Christian to give up her child for adoption even though she was despoiled? What does the Word say concerning this? Answer 2: Well, to give up one’s child for adoption is not wrong, but you have to make sure you’re giving up the child for adoption by the right people, who can bring that child up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. For example, Hannah in the Bible actually gave up her child for adoption to the priest, Eli. Samuel was adopted by the priest; she gave her son to the Lord. And so, that was an adoption; so, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s “who’s going to take care of this child?” that’s what really matters. Sometimes, someone can have a child without having the…biological ability to give birth should not be equated with the psychological, mental and emotional ability to raise the child. So, someone could have a child that she can’t take care of. And so, if that child is given up for adoption, it’s okay. But, like I said, it’s important who’s adopting the child, because the future of that child matters, and you would be held responsible for who you gave your child to for adoption. |

@Pinpu l this was suppose to be a discussion forum why do we keep having men with twisted minds needing rapairs come and instigate unnecessary aguements. Joagbaje is responding to the thread according to context logically but you sit there and contribute nothing, why can't you and others like you for once in love contribute as a christian meaningfully and let somebody learn from it. This year has come to an end be wise don't live this kind of life come 2011 at least let others benefit from your being alive especially when you consider that for you you can go any time. Hmmmmm |
A big thanks to everyone for responding and providing clearity because little issues like this are what some disgruntled religious minds can pick on and start excusing their errors just like the case of Jesus turning water into wine in John 2:1-12 which many people have made a mess of, supporting their apologetic and sorry habit of consuming alchoho. |
Hmmmmmm! |
But wait a minute l have taken time to consider this- if l were in the shoes of T.B Joshua what would l have done, personally na to anull the fight o |
@lysaa Sure ! |
