AlBaqir:
CAMEL MILK OR CAMEL URINE OR BOTH?

Imam al-Bukhari document the following ahadith:

Chapter: To treat with the milk of camel

Narrated Anas:

Some people were sick and they said, "O Allah's Messenger (s)! Give us shelter and food. So when they became healthy they said, "The weather of Medina is not suitable for us." So he sent them to Al-Harra with some she-camels of his and said, "Drink of their milk." But when they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet (s) and drove away his camels. The Prophet (s) sent some people in their pursuit. Then he got their hands and feet cut and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron. I saw one of them licking the earth with his tongue till he died.

Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari 5685
In-book reference : Book 76, Hadith 8
USC-MSA web (English) reference : Vol. 7, Book 71, Hadith 589

Contrastingly or additionally, Imam Bukhari also documents:

Chapter: To treat with the urine of camels

Narrated Anas:

The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet (s) ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet (s) he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

# As per the first hadith (the one commanding Milk of Camel ONLY), I do not have problem with. However, the one commanding Camel Urine, I have a question for all the Salafiyyah: Have you tried it? Its bound on you to follow this special Sunnah esp to shame WHO who advice people to avoid drinking Camel's urine and unpasteurized camel milk:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3118178/WHO-health-officials-tell-people-don-t-drink-potentially-fatal-camel-urine-advice-avoid-deadly-MERS-virus.html

# Prophet only commands pure and good things never impure and bad things. Quran says:

"Those who follow the Apostle-Prophet, the Ummi, whom they find written down with them in the Taurat and the Injeel (who) enjoins them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful to them the good things and makes unlawful to them impure things, and removes from them their burden and the shackles which were upon them; so (as for) those who believe in him and honor him and help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, these it is that are the successful." {Quran, surah A'raf:157}
Once again, you have made your whims and desires the judge and rule over the acceptability and authenticity of the hadith not any knowledge based argument.

Secondly, I swear to Allah, you argue exactly like the disbelievers. And the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam said whoever imitates a people is one of them. I don't even doubt your status as a heretic infidel.

Thirdly, the hadiths do not contradict, some people were sick, then again some people were sick. It's easy to say that they were two different events. The fact that the root of a plant is cure doesn't negate the efficiency of its leaves as a cure too. The same thing applies to the milk and urine of camel.

Fourthly, It's well established in fiqh that the urine and feaces of halal animals are pure. Enlighten yourself!

Fifthly, pasteurized or not doesn't affect have anything to do with our discussion

Sixtly, Allah says:

Surah An-Nahl, Verse 69:

"Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.
(English - Mohsin Khan)

via iQuran

Go and drink poison too to prove your belief in the verse.

Surah Al-Isra, Verse 82:

And We send down from the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) nothing but loss.
(English - Mohsin Khan)

via iQuran

Same thing here, go and eat rat poison to show your belief in the healing of the Quran.

The the Messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam said zamzam water is food and cure, go and eat rat poison also to prove your belief.

No one will benefit from the reminder except the pious.

Lastly, AlBaqir, you have repeatedly proclaimed your disbelief in the Quran on this forum, so don't bother trying to find excuse for your disbelief in the Sunnah.

AlBaqir:
^ I can never question the Sunnah of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa ahli, the infallibility of those who compiled ahadith in Sahih Bukhari hundreds of years after the demise of our Nabi is what made me sceptical and never to follow every single hadith in that book. Since, you firmly believe sahih Bukhari is 100% accurate, why don't you give it a trial? People will soon go to Hajj and they can easily buy Ajwa date from Madinah. Rat poison is available anywhere. So lets see.
As you can see your rejection of the hadith of Bukharee is based on a completely subjective argument. As we all know subjective opinions are far from reliable except to the innovators like the Sufis and the infidels like you and your shia cohorts.

If we were to go by this evil methodology of yours to test every hadith, there would be no need for learning or explanation because at the end of it all the final ruling would be returned to the whims and desires of the people.

On the other hand, the scholars that regarded Soheeh Bukharee to be the most reliable book of hadith have all based their verdicts on empirically justified objective opinions. So the difference is clear.

And I never said Imam Bukharee's book is infallible, some observations have been raised by scholars regarding his arrangement of the narrations, his opinions regarding the verdicts he deduced from the hadiths. Or are these observations not enough to prove that it's different from the Quran.
But as far as the chains of narration and ascribing the narrations to the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam is concerned, this book is unrivalled.

And that is the favour of Allah He bestows it upon whom he wills.

Actually, You shia are the last people anyone should be debating with.

Anyway, I'm directing this reply to Empiree and other confused Muslims in the forum.
It's the same people who compiled the Quran that also compiled the hadith of the Messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam. So don't try to justify your disbelief!

Your excuse for rejecting a narration is because you don't believe or think something like that could be possible. You are not the first disbeliever of your kind.

The children of Israel, when one of them committed murder and Allah commanded them to kill a cow, they accused their messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam of making jest of them. And the story is known to everyone. The same way you are making jest of an authentically reported hadith from the Messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam because you think it's impossible and by implication difficult for Allah (Glorified be He from your crap).

Allah has promised to protect the Quran and by implication, the sunnah also.

Then all what you have posted are nothing but the same flimsy doubts the Christians and Jews mention. You are all one. Can't you see that your methodology complies more with the Jews and Christians than the Muslims.

At this juncture, I will like to mention a few points, perhaps they will enlighten the already guided (thus increasing him in guidance) and the misguided (thus be a means for his repentance)

# Anyone who disbelieves in the sunnah with the excuse that it was compiled by humanbeings, such a person will soon disbelieve in the Quran.
This is because, even the Quran was not compiled during the lifetime of the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam rather it was after his demise. So also the case of the sunnah. It's not Allah that came down to compile the Quran.

# Those who claim that the sunnah is not authentic base it on the principle that it contradicts intellect. Anyone who ponders on the excuses of the disbelievers as Allah explained in the Quran will see that they are the same excuses these misguided innovators present today.

Surah Hud, Verse 91:

They said: "O Shu'aib! We do not understand much of what you say, and we see you a weak (man, it is said that he was a blind man) among us. Were it not for your family, we should certainly have stoned you and you are not powerful against us."
(English - Mohsin Khan)

via iQuran

Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 26:

Verily, Allah is not ashamed to set forth a parable even of a mosquito or so much more when it is bigger (or less when it is smaller) than it. And as for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord, but as for those who disbelieve, they say: "What did Allah intend by this parable?" By it He misleads many, and many He guides thereby. And He misleads thereby only those who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
(English - Mohsin Khan)

via iQuran

Surah Al-Muddathir, Verse 31:

And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.
(English - Mohsin Khan)

So, there is nothing strange in this there excuse for disbelief!

# Like I explained in my reply to a thread this Albaqir zombie created on this nairaland to spread his misguidance.
Trust in The hadiths of Soheeh Bukharee and Muslim is not because of their personalty, rather it's because of the great precision, accuracy and careful research combined with unrivalled memorization skill and understanding of the principles of hadith and its science. These factors are the reason why these books are reliable references

# As this deviant Empiree Sufi claimed that if Bukharee and his likes had finished the work, why did Albany still have work to do?
I say with full confidence and authority that there's no hadith that Albany authenticated that no one has preceded him in authenticating. But the rulings of these scholars on the hadiths are not found in a book rather they are scattered in books of fiqh, tafseer etc so what Albany did was just to read widely and carry out intensive researches on the various opinions of the scholars before him and gather them in a single place for our lazy generation. because of our weak attention to the science of hadith and knowledge of Islam in general we think he has brought something new.

Surah Al-Ahqaf, Verse 9:

Say (O Muhammad SAW):"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allah) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."

AlBaqir:
Imam al-Bukhari documents this hadith under the Chapter: The use of 'Ajwa dates as medicine for magic

Narrated Saud:

I heard Allah's Messenger (s) saying, "If Somebody takes seven 'Ajwa dates in the morning, neither magic nor poison will hurt him that day."

Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari 5769
In-book reference : Book 76, Hadith 83
USC-MSA web (English) reference : Vol. 7, Book 71, Hadith 664
http://sunnah.com/bukhari/76

So, kindly buy Ajwa dates (Labinu). Make sure its those ones from Saudi (best grade). Eat seven in the morning. You can ask somebody to put ògùn èkúté (rat poison) in food for you. Let see your faith in Sahih Bukhari's ahadith (all of them)!

Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi Rajiun
See the degree of you disbelieve?!!
If Allah could cure a disbeliever with suratul fatiha alone recited by a companion who was even new to Islam, is it difficult for Him to prevent magic from hurting a believer with just seven dates?!

Then these Ajwa dates are not the species of dates here, they are one of the special species of Madinah.

Though Imam Sa'diyy was of the opinion that any species of date would suffice.

It's not how much stress an act requires that matters rather it's the firm belief and reliance upon Allah that Allah our Creator needs from us.

Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 37:

It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allah for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad SAW) to the Muhsinun (doers of good).

Congrats on you Nikkah!

Could you please throw more light on the Jahmiyyah sect? For the shia, I never knew those demons really exist until I met them here on Nairaland!
Aameen!

The Jahmiyyah sect are the first sect to deny the names and attributes of Allah, they claimed that Allah has no sight, hearing, cannot speak, is not above, below anywhere, he has no life and doesn't speak etc they denied all the attributes of Allah except the attribute of existence and affirming the attribute of existence is far from sufficient to make one a believer because even the pre-Islamic polytheists of makkah also affirmed it.

It was pioneered by Jahm bn Sofwaan, he travelled to India, argued with atheistic philosophers, was asked many questions he couldn't comprehend and that threw him into confusion and led him astray.

After them, many other sects were born such as the ashaa'era, mu'tazilah, maaturidiyyah etc, they all tried to rectify the errors of the jahmiyyah sect only to create another misguidance because they based their principles on philosophy and human intellect instead of submitting to the understanding of the salaf i.e pious predecessors (companions and those who follow them in goodness). So any attribute of Allah that contradicts their intellect they simply deny it or change its meaning especially the ashari sect.

Most of these sects are not in existence today among learned people (i.e not many people associate themselves to these sects by name) although most of their tenets and ideologies are still present in one form or the other among the general Muslims out of ignorance and negligence of learning the proper Tawheed.

Except the Ash'aree sect which is still very common today even among scholars especially in Egypt. And you will notice this among those who travel to Egypt to study.

Until recently when Saudi Arabia started having impact on Africa, most African Muslims were Ash'aree in Aqeedah. If you revise the books of Aqeedah used in markaz Agege for instance you will see that it's pure Ash'aree aqeedah because sheikh Adam studied and lived for long in Egypt.
The same thing applies if you look at the common book of tafseer among our elders i.e Tafseer Jalaalyn by Imam Jalaaludeen Suyootee and his teacher, you will see that they are Conc. Ash'aree loaded. This was the common tafseer until now that we have Ibn Katheer and Tobariyy etc

I'll try to create a thread on it in shaa Allah, I ask Allah to make it easy.

Don't mind those zombies. I ask Allah to turn to them in repentance. The Shia and Jahmiyyah sects, I don't know which is more misguided. Though the scholars almost agree that they are the worst of all the deviant sects. in fact most scholars don't recognize them as one of the misguided 72 sects in Islam, many scholars regard them as another religion entirely.

on the authority of Jabir bn AbdiLLaah (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that he heard the Messenger of Allah alyhissolaat wassalaam saying in the year of conquest (i.e conquest of makkah), while he was in makkah "Indeed Allah and his Messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam have forbidden the trade of of alcohol, and dead animals (that died without proper Islamic slaughtering), and pigs, and idols" so it was said: oh messenger of Allah, inform us about the fat of dead animals, because indeed it's used to paint ships, and used to oil leather skins, and the people use it as illumination (i.e lamp) he alyhissolaat wassalaam said "No, it's forbidden" then the messenger of Allah alyhissolaat wassalaam said after that "may Allah curse the Jews, indeed when Allah forbade it's fat upon them they melted it then sold it and consumed it's income".
Reported by Bukharee (2236), Muslim (1581), Abu Dawood (3486), Tirmidhi (1297), Ibn Majah (2168), Nasai (4683).

See also Bulughul maram by Ibn Hajar (735) and it's explanation in Imam San'aani's subul salam.

And the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught us an important principle when he said: “When Allaah forbids a thing, He (also) forbids its price.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3488; classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Ghaayat al-Maraam , 318.

And what points to this is that a number of scholars past and present have mentioned a few errors in the book, though most of these errors do not affect the reliability of the report.

Actually, The fact that Allah has promised to protect the Quran implies that He will protect the sunnah because it is the explanation of the Quran.

And Allah will use some men to protect the sunnah just as he has used the noble companions rodiyaLLaahu anhum to protect the Quran especially Umar bn Khattaab the great commander of the believers during the time of Abu Bakr.

Or is it Allah that will come down to do it.

Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.

# Observe, we never doubt the sayings of the Prophet. But the fact that some of these books of ahadith were written centuries after his demise by obviously fallible individuals, it makes al-Quran in prime position to distinguish truth from lies (incidentally Quran is al-Fur'qan) but unfortunately it is the likes of "sahih Bukhari" et al that are being used to "guide" Quran.
Actually, you also disbelieve in the Quran too because you claim that the scribes could have erred rather you believe that they erred. In fact you believe that Abu Bakr and Umar distorted and tampered with the texts of the Quran!

So, don't bother trying to justify your disbelief in the sunnah also.
All you believe in is those fabrications of your sheikhs which have mutilated chains!

# Any hadith that does not agree with or blatantly contradict the Quran is absolutely not from Nabi Muhammad, [i]salallahu alayhi wa ahli
Yes this is true. but not those which your intellect cannot comprehend. As you can see your Mudir rejects the narration of the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam having intercourse with all his wives in a night because he can't comprehend how that is possible.
As for me, I don't doubt it because:

# The messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam has been given the strength that we have not been given, and this is general to all the prophets. The prophets Alyhimussalam are not weaklings.

# AlhamduliLlah for my creation, it's not far from what I I can do myself. Maybe because your mudir has deficiency in his body, that's why he super shocked.
But it would have sufficed him to say and believe that aamantu biLLaahi wa Rosuulihi wa kitaabih!

Lastly, your asalatu is deficient, Allah commanded us to do solah and salam upon our noble Prophet Muhammad alyhissolaat wassalaam not just Solah or just salam.

And if you wanted to really apply your principle, you wouldn't add household to your asalatu because it's not in the Quran!
So, it's obvious that you shia have no princip
,and your religion is full of inconsistencies. You only add and remove what the desires of your sheikhs command as inspired to them by the devils.

What a wicked slavery!!!
Only Allah can recompense these deviants for their evils!

O Allah, send your Solah and salam upon your messenger Muhammad, his household, companions and those who follow his path till the day of recompense Aameen.

AlBaqir:
What do you expect?! Its a result of donkey years of wicked dogmatism.
speaking of dogmatism, the shia are the epitome of it!
Al-Kulayni (a renowned shia sheikh) reported from Muhammad bn Hassan said: I said to Abu Jafar the second (Muhammad al-Jawad): may I be sacrificed for you, indeed our sheikhs report from Abu Jafar and Abu AbdiLLaah -alyhimassalam- and the taqiyyah was severe, so (our sheikhs) hid their books, and (those reports) were not reported from them, but when they died, the books got to us?
He (Abu Jafar the second) said: narrate them(to the people) for indeed it's the truth. End Quote from al-Kaafi (1/53)

Meaning, Muhammad Hassan was surprised at how their sheikhs claimed to have reported from people who had died decades before them. So he asked. the elderly deviant and he was commanded to narrate and he followed dogmatically. And you shia too all followed.
See, how your shameless sheikhs rely on reports in some found books which cannot be traced to any author. And they rely on them because a dotard said "narrate them for it's the truth" and you all agree, in fact this cursed alkafee book is like Bukharee of shia religion.

So the reason why you deviant infidels will stretch your hideous tongues at Sohih Bukharee is not far fetched.
You have lost hope in your misguidance and stray, instead of tracing your footsteps back to the right path you added more misguidance by envying the guided ones and striving day and night to increase the number of your fellow inmates in hell!!!

Since Believing in the infallibility of Sahih Bukhari is part of usul deen of these scholars, they will continue to attack without studying with open heart. Sahih Bukhari, a very book written 114 years after the death of Imam Bukhari himself!
You don't get it, Soheehul Bukharee is not infallible, in fact a number of scholars have mentioned a few errors in the book such as Albany and a number of scholars before him. So it's not the book that is a fundamental if the religion.

The acceptance and belief in the report of reliable (in religious uprightness and memory) narrators, from Generation to the next without any cut in the chain is a fundamental of our religion.
Any report that satisfies the five conditions of a reliable report must be accepted:

# Religious uprightness of the men in its chain

# Tested and trusted memory of the men in its chain

# The chain must be joined not cut i.e each narrator must have heard it from his sheikh, and his sheikh from his own sheikh and so on till the end.
Not some people just found some books from their sheikhs and rely on them because some dotard said "it's the truth'!

#It must not contradict the report of those who are more reliable than him either in reliability or number.

# It must not have hidden defects.

these five conditions have a lot of explanations, and thousands (maybe millions) of books have been written to explain the finest details.

So, the reports of soheehul bukharee satisfies these conditions the most among books for the following reasons:

#Imam Bukharee is a mountain of hadith, his memory is the peak

#His reliability is also the peak because of his undoubted piety, from what we know. And we judge by what we see, only Allah knows the unseen.

# Bukharees knowledge and understanding of the science of hadith and the strength of reports is unrivalled. A great indicator is that Imam Muslim, the author of the great Soheeh is a student of Bukharee, though it is said that muslim had finished his book before meeting bukharee.

# Imam Bukharee specifically write his book on authentic reports only. Not just authentic, but purely authentic.

# Imam Bukharee dreamt that he was wiping flies of the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam, this was interpreted to mean that he would cleanse the prophet's sunnah from the lies of people like your sheikhs.

# Scholars, generation after generation have tested and revised the book and have found its reliability and consistence to be of the peak.

# Imam Bukharee observed Solah of istikhaarah before adding any report to his book.

#Bukharee even gave an extra condition after the regular ones to ensure that only the most authentic reports are relied on.

That's probably because all or most of what you know about Buddhism is from the movies!
Everyone packages himself in the movies with extreme morals and values that are far from reality.

Farmerforlife:
I think that you should include a question as to how exposed the reponder is, to a Muslim country, or whether he/she has ever lived in one.

I for one, have visited many of the Gulf countries, and some in North Africa. Not all Muslim countries follow the shari'a, and their way of life is not significantly different from the secular countries....Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Morrocco and former Syria are examples... also I would imagine Far Eastern Muslim countries like Malaysia, Indonesia (I have not been there) etc to be the same. There are some cultural aspects that are better, such as higher morality, less exposure to perversions, better availability of mosques and Islamic schools, but the way of life of the majority of the people is mostly secular.

Shari'a compliant Muslim countries however, especially Saudi Arabia (but including Qatar, Kuwait etc), tend to be safer, though some would say they are too boring... no brothels, casinos, discos, bars etc. I really enjoyed my stay there. It is great for quiet time, introspection, you can expect honesty in most of your trade dealings (there is the ocassional sharp practice, but they are very wary of being caught). Food tends to be very cheap, as are practically all essentials. There is also safety, your kids can move around by themselves, negligible armed robbery or banditry. No one breaks into your house, even if you leave it open (you should see how gold shops display their wares openly like tomatoes).

All in all, I would love to stay there. My sticking point is that non citizens may not establish SMEs without a citizen as a partner, and I do not overly like partnerships. I hear that SA is opening up to foreign investment now, so I might still live there one day. And contrary to your implied belief, women do like it there also (apart from the inconvenience of not being able to drive in Saudi). My wife would prefer staying there any day (she doesnt care about the business aspect).
At last I found a sensible and enlightening response.

If many people learned to talk with knowledge and abstain from ranting ignorant verdicts, this thread wouldn't be more than a page!!!

Error Five is debatable, And i will prefer to give cash than food stuff, if we are to abide y this in this present day, the needy person will eventually sell some of the food stuffs to solve his or her problem.

Also the need of the needy closer to us varies, while some are in die need of medical assistance others might need food, cloth etc.
Actually, what he does with the food is not really your business. The obligation upon you is to hand it over to him.

And currency was present in those days, if it were permissible it would have been legislated back then.

As for the second part, if you wish give additional sodaqah but the obligation upon you is food.

Just like you can't use the equivalent of ram as sodaqah in the other eid, please don't use the equivalent of the food as sodaqah in this eid too.

please brothers and sisters, let's stop finding excuses when Allah has decreed a matter. It's very wrong to bring Analogy when a clear evidence has been established.
Remember, that's what destroyed Shaitan. May Allah save us.

IslamA Simplified But Intensive Guide To Zakaatul Fitr by Newnas(op): 9:12am On Jul 01, 2016
Praise be to Allah and His Solah and salam be upon the last Messenger, his household and companions till the day of qiyamah.

It is called Zakatul Fitr because the reason for it's obligation is fitr i.e breaking of fast.

1> It's Ruling and Evidence:
Allah says:
Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 43:

And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, and Irka' (i.e. bow down or submit yourselves with obedience to Allah) along with Ar-Raki'un.
(English - Mohsin Khan)

via iQuran
Zakatul fitr falls under the general commandment of the verse.

AbduLLah bn Umar rodiyaLLaahu anhum reported:
The messenger alyhissolaat wassalaam obligated a saa' (this will be explained later) sodaqah of breaking fast of Ramadan from barley upon the slave and free, male and female, young and old among the Muslims. (Bukharee:1504) (Muslim:984)

2> Conditions for giving It
It has two conditions
# Islam, it is not obligatory (or acceptable) upon the disbeliever.
# Possession of more food than what will suffice him and his household (dependents) and what will cater for their basic needs in the day and night of Eid

3> Wisdom Behind It's Obligation
# It is food for the poor and saves them from begging
# Purification for those who fasted
# An acknowledgement and proclamation of gratitude to Allah.
# Show of the beauty of Islam

4> Measurements, to who and from who and what type of food?

A saa' is four Mudd, a mudd is when an average adult man joins his palms together and cups them like you do when you want to drink from a tap.

It is obligatory upon every Muslim even the new born that is born before fajr (daybreak) on the day of Eid. As for the foetus in the womb, it's recommended but not obligatory as was done by Uthman bn Affaan (see Musanaf Ibn Abi Shaybah:10737)

It is to be given to the poor. The poor person is the one who doesn't have what will suffice him and his dependants on the day of Eid even if he has a job.

The food type is any commonly eaten food in the society, rice is the perfect food for our society, it was barley and wheat during the time of the Prophet alyhissolaat wassalaam.

5> The Time Of Giving It
It's best time is the morning of Eid before the prayer, but it can be given a day or two before Eid. Whoever gives it after Solah has not fulfilled the obligation and has does committed a sin by delaying an obligatory act beyond it's time, but he should still give it to raise the sin of totally leaving an obligatory act.

6> The Big Debate in This Chapter
"All the scholars of Islamic jurisprudence didn't permit giving it's equivalent in money, Abu Haneefah permitted it" (Imam Nawawiyy in Sharh Muslim: 7/60)
I say: "may Allah have mercy on Imam Abu Haneefah"
Imam Abu Haneefah's verdict is rejected for the following reasons:

# Allah never forgets, if it was permissible, Allah would have mentioned it especially since currency was in use at the time of revelation. If this was permissible it would have been mentioned.

# The Zakatul fitr is a symbol of Islam just like The slaughter Animal is a symbol of Islam. So it's an equivalent of slaughtering in the Eidul fitr.
Just as you can't give the equivalent of the the animal in money as sodaqah, so also you shouldn't give the equivalent of the food in sodaqah.

#It is a great undoing for someone to use qiyas (analogy) against texts of Quran and sunnah. Like some of our brothers have been saying that since its too give food and money can buy food etc.
May Allah forgive us all.

But Sheikh Mashoor Hasan al-Salman gave a talk in Haram, the day before yesterday and gave two exceptions:

#If food is scarce and money is in abundance

# If he remembers the zakatul fitr just some moment before the solah and he is not able to give anything except money before the time elapses.
Perhaps it will be accepted in these two conditions.

Allah knows best.

This apologetic Islam people are practicing is very disappointing and annoying.

The sunnah explains the Quran not you. The hadith says the ruling of a matter is so and so, some of us try to dodge it to please the people.

Know this, no matter how much you manipulate and apologize to the disbelievers, the one who will die on his stray path will not believe.
