This woman should calm down with all these stunts and publicity moves she's running with her pregnancy. She's not the only one who will be physically hurt if anything goes wrong. There's an unborn baby involved here, and no one can tell the dangers of such rigorous motion and athleticism. If the baby comes out mentally challenged, they will start running to every Church investing their little money in another Pastor's private jet. There is a reason why things are done the way they are done. Some traditions have been passed down over centuries not just for the fun of it, but because there have been consequences following the contrary. Heavily pregnant women should desist from such rigors. |
I just read he story of Fada U-Turn, I had chatted with him online, and via BBM about collaborating with my promotional campaigns to revive his career. He never mentioned that he was ill, perhaps he wanted to work so hard that he would have enough funds to treat his ailment. It's so sad that he's gone. We've heard of other young people with kidney diseases, most prominently, and recent, OJB Jezreel, whose life was saved through a donation of $100,000 dollars from the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi. I think it is relevant that I dig up an article which I read recently, for all to have more awareness about diseases of the kidneys, and where to seek help. The Ondo example for kidney carehttp://telegraphng.com/2013/11/ondo-example-kidney-care/ |
It's unfortunate. We chatted for the first time some months ago via Twitter, then moved on to conversing on BBM. He never mentioned that he was ill. The man is just a few years older than myself. It is necessary that we check our kidneys because kidney diseases tend to be the most rampant ones killing young people these day. The cost of the tests and treatment is too high however. OJB who is the most recent survivor, spent more than N10 million. |
She's not even a celebrity at all. |
There's no danfo that works 8 hours straight. I have actually spoken with the Lagos Commissioner for Transport one on one during a BBC organized media event, and he told me and a friend that he plans to remove all the structures sustaining poverty in the state so that poor people will have no other choice than to get rich or ship out. He didn't see that there could be other options which would turn out o be out of his control. |
Na wah O! Who did this to us? Pictures Of How A Nairalander & His Friends Spent Sunday on Nairaland frontpage?! HABATICALLY!!! Very soon, we'll see videos of a Nairalander sleeping in his bedroom. |
I just don't understand how they measured her bravery, or what instrument they used. She's quite skinny, and also not very comely, but I've seen a lot of young and very brave little girls in Nigeria who have to work in the dangerous streets of Lagos to fend for their siblings and parents too. I simply can't agree that this fellow is the bravest in the world just because she was insulted. She is not. |
This is the most top level bullshit I've read this year. The worst part is that this "Super Story" made it into our national dailies. First off, a simple Google search will show any layman that there's no such an company as "Enhanced Silicon Inc". Secondly, if at all any company is to insure breasts, the insurance would be to provide plastic surgery in case of sagging. As a businessman, look at this lady's breasts, they are already being propped up with various types of bra accessories and wires. Insuring them will be definitely and knowingly running into debt. Which company would run into $1.6 million debt on purpose? This woman is not relevant to the Nigerian Social or Entertainment scene, and prostitution in old age doesn't pay at all. She may soon have to start paying her clients. Her best bet is to become sort of a love-vendor or madame, and start running a prostitution ring now that she still has some vigor left in her. Pursuing unnecessary publicity will get her nowhere. |
Why does no one say that Awolowo is responsible for the situation the country is in today? |
The Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2013 has commenced, and it is sure to be the biggest event in Nigeria this year. My humble self and a couple of others were there to cover some of the highlights of Day 1, and will be continuously posting photos and details as they unfold throughout the event. If you're in Lagos, find at least one day to make it to OceanView Restaurant, beside Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, where the event is taking place. If you live or work in Victoria Island, Ikoyi, or Lekki, you've got no excuse to miss out on this. The exhibition is by various designers in Nigeria and nearby countries, and attendance is absolutely FREE. The runway shows, which are the main spectacle are N5,000 for each day. For those who have never been to a world class fashion show before, you shouldn't miss this. For the people outside Lagos, enjoy the photos. Davido himself has debunked this rumour. |
All the countries which the West hates have been compiled to make that list. I guess there was no space for Iran and Syria. They would have made it if the list was of the dozen most corrupt nation. When will we realize that the USA, Britain and France which have attempted to manipulate these countries in order to syphon their wealth are the real most corrupt countries in the world? |

@Rossikk If no one posted any information about any power outage outside Nigeria online, I wonder how you read it online. In Nigeria, it happens everyday! During the daytime, they even switch it off to conserve energy, but when it happens at night, that is very dangerous. |
When visitors come to a country, parts of the lasting memories they have include how their last day in the host country was. That is why you see a lot of photograph taking, hugging, crying and buying of souvenirs happening at the airport before they leave. It is part of the stories they take with them and share with the world. Power failure as they are waiting at the departure lounge is also one of these stories!!! https://telegraphng.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/blackout.jpg This picture was taken on the gangway. Yesterday at about 2:30pm was another occurrence of the national shame. Sitting right there at the departure lounge, in the company of an international crowd, waiting for a flight into Asia when power failed. One would have expected the standby supply to kick in almost immediately, or for some Uninterrupted Power Supply to keep the lights on till power was restored.... http://telegraphng.com/2013/10/blackout-murtala-mohammed-international-airport-anonymous |
A large quota of people look forward to Eid El Kabirotherwise called Eid El Adha mostly in excitement over meat from the rams which will be slaughtered on that day. Well, the day has come already, and rams are everywhere, ready for slaughter, even in my own house. It may be necessary we recall that this celebration is in honour of the sacrifice Prohet Ibrahim (Abraham) made when he obeyed God's commandment to give his son as offering, and ultimately, God's eventual replacement of Ishaq (Isaac) with a ram for the prophet to slaughter in his stead. [img]http://2.bp..com/-pmvxfjikHxw/UlzUxskhfbI/AAAAAAAABVE/gcSq2TydU-U/s640/Ram-slaughter-gambia_mg_0365-copy.jpg[/img] Due to recent observations of how rams are being slaughtered in some parts today, especially Lagos, it has become important that the existence of stipulated guideline for animal slaughter in Islam be highlighted. To begin with, due to the Lagos economy, and the hustling nature of its inhabitants, a majority may find ad libitum feeding of an animal which will soon be slaughtered as a pointless and indeed wasteful engagement, as it is not as if the animal will grow a bit more before slaughter, and neither would it significantly lose weight over a few days of malnutrition. This perception is very wrong on two fronts. [img]http://2.bp..com/-aHgJlWDdzzc/UlzVRajDiFI/AAAAAAAABVM/WG9WZ0BnXK0/s640/Ram+Feeding.jpg[/img] From an Islamic point of view, any animal that is starved before being slaughtered is automatically Haram (forbidden), and also from a nutritional point of view, any animal which does not have adequate glucose in its body before slaughter will not produce soft, nutritious meat. Animals to be slaughtered for consumption by Muslims must not be maltreated in any form, made mockery, of, or have injuries on them. In order words, unnecessary whipping, riding, painful tying and especially ram fighting is forbidden. In fact, those who use their rams to fight are probably worshiping some other deity, but definitely not Allah. [img]http://2.bp..com/-oV1iyHaxR-Y/UlzXi-fvLrI/AAAAAAAABVY/OlDrk33Ldwk/s640/Ram-Fight.jpg[/img] Slaughtering must be performed manually by a mature Muslim who fully understands the fundamentals and conditions relating to slaughtering according to the Shari'ah, and at the time of slaughtering the name of Allah must be invoked by saying: "Bismillah - Allahu Akbar". If for some reason, the name or names of someone other than Allah is invoked at the time of slaughtering, the meat becomes Haram. If by mistake, the slaughterer forgets to invoke the name of Allah at the time of slaughtering, the meat will remain Halal. If however, the slaughterer knowingly skips the name of Allah at the time of slaughtering, the meat becomes Haram. [img]http://3.bp..com/-yPhgMlj0eYs/UlzcCoWfLrI/AAAAAAAABVs/Ih0Ys0OirBI/s640/islamic-method-of-slaughtering-300x259.jpg[/img] The ram should be properly restrained using ropes and also the hands, which means an assistant will be required. The knife to be used in slaughtering it should should be twice as long as the width of the ram's neck and very sharp, and should be used to cut through the windpipe, food-tract and two jugular veins, preferably in one stroke. However, the neck of the animal should not be disjointed during slaughtering intentionally, even the knife should not go deep into the spinal marrow. The blood of the slaughtered animal must be drained as completely as possible. Slaughtering from the back of the neck is not allowed in Islam. [img]http://4.bp..com/-Js8VPP4poik/Ulzbwyg8ZfI/AAAAAAAABVk/mXUX2ShjmG0/s640/Ram+Head.JPG[/img] Please do not behead your ram in this manner during slaughter, and especially refrain from taking pleasure in sharing photographs of mutilated animals with friends and relative. Thank you. Now, for the location of Sallah meat, holler. Happy Sallah! http://thediaryofabadman..com/2013/10/method-of-slaughtering-ram-as-halal-in.html |
Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) 2013 It's about that time of the year, for one of the biggest fashion events worldwide: Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) wrestled the title sponsorship of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week from MTN Nigeria, promising to make it bigger, and better. The fashion week is scheduled for the 23rd to 26th October 2013. It is really sad, but it is all these that will eventually lead to the downfall of these banks. I know some of the people who built up GTBank, and it's those same people that built up Access Bank. They rose up with principle, care, transparency, and honesty. It's unfortunate to see what is happening in these banks today. More than one cashier at GTBank Ojodu Branch have begged me for money while I was depositing cash there. In the 90s, that would be unthinkable. |

It's not just Graphic Designers that hate such phrases, it's everyone in the creative industry. I started giving free Social Media PR to a client who confessed to me that his company had gotten broke, but after a few months, when things were improving, he thanked me, and revealed to me that once I can help him get back to profitability, he'll have enough money to hire the best PR person, who to him was Toni Payne. PROBLEM! |
@Dsalz Well, Atiku has spent more than $100,000 (N16,000,000) building his Twitter account to about 60,000 followers directly via Twitter, and his account has also been verified. Please don't say people who have that sort of money in Nigeria don't care about Twitter. Also, I'm auctioning this same account on various international fora, however, being that virtually all my followers are Nigerians, it will prove the most useful, and of the most value to a Nigerian buyer. Glad I could make you laugh though, but it's not really as funny as it seems. Thanks. |
Invitation to runs. |
I was quite young when my dad died, so I didn't feel it that much till later, but the most painful loss of a loved one I've suffered so far was the Nigerian singer, Susan 'Goldie' Harvey. I wept for months. Funny enough, the last discussion we had at her house was about how everybody who was hating on her so much for her role in Big Brother Africa would suddenly start showing love if they heard that she died. When I heard she'd died, I thought it was some kind of prank. It's all so sad. I still have her on my BlackBerry Messenger, hoping that oneday she'll PING back and say it was all a joke. Oh well, live goes on.

Hello! |
Abeg, where dem dey get this crowd from wey dey go greet dem for airport? I can't imagine the level of boredom, joblessness and stupidity that will push me to head to the airport to welcome a politician. |
The very best Nigerian video director is Wudi Awa. He's good with story telling, but the problem with him is the time he takes to edit. He works like an artist with his videos, and Nigerians simply don't have time for all that artistry. "No Be God" for Gino was the hiphop video that changed the way Nigerian music videos are made. Though some of us complained about Wudi Awa's colouring skills, he shut us up with "Kade" which he shot for Muma Gee, then went back to his ways with "Kolo Mental" for Faze. NO BE GOD - Gino (2005) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32BLnQs6Yoo[/flash] KADE - Muma Gee (2006) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bggePgKsm8[/flash] KOLOMENTAL - FAZE (2008) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkF_I63jPJs[/flash] DJ Tee who can decide sometimes to come out with rubbish, and he'll absolutely do it. But don't forget, DJ Tee made the "Tongolo" video for D Banj which changed the way Nigerian Pop videos were made forever. Still there are a lot of DJ Tee videos out there today which he cannot put his name on. His problem is that he has several major, high paying projects. DJ Tee is the best video colorist I know in Nigeria, but he has difficulties with his storyline, and also he could beat an artiste up during a video shoot if he's angered. He also didn't use to welcome ideas from the contributing musician. I don't know if that has changed. One thing we can agree on is that DG Tee can be very good when he wants to be. TONGOLO (2005) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDkPysu9iPk[/flash] ESCALADE - Dare Art Alade (2007) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5YI7jvv3HU[/flash] STYLEE - Jimmy Jatt, Tu Face, Mode 9, Ela Joe (2007) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aadhdWSkifQ[/flash] E FIMILE - YQ & Da Grin (2008) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEoViV2wK94[/flash] Clarence Peters is the most popular video director. His advantage is that he's very efficient, especially with his timing, but I wouldn't say he's all that. He's not much of a story teller either. There are lots of ethics in video production that are being overlooked. FLASHING IMAGES which are a regular feature in most of his party jams are cool to look at, but may trigger CONVULSIONS in some individuals. The very best video directors in the world NEVER use flashing images. Obago for Phyne is a good video though. Clarence really impressed me with that. But his previous work which was Ochanya for AYOOLA was depressing (despite being a high budget video). SHAYO - Durella (2008) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTOYqYCDaEM[/flash] OCHANYA - Ayoola (2013) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bje5FRnk-U[/flash] OBAGO - Phyno (2013) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNfh2hTKGeQ[/flash] I don't know much about Patrick Ellis, but his video I've seen are good. He does have a way with colours too, and he could be that all-round video producer Nigeria has been looking for, but he should do more. LABALABA - Samklef & Skales (2010) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhvyWG_eD_8[/flash] HOLLA AT YOUR BOY - WizKid (2010) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw6IUBu5DBw[/flash] My favourite video director is Lanre Tyson of M SQUAD. He's so ethical that he would not super-impose his his name on artistes video unless they request it. I find it strange that some artistes would ask a video director to super-impose his brand on their video, but then, I've heard one who went to the studio and recorded "Exclusive From NOTJUSTOK.COM". Well, M Squad took forever to decide to start claiming credits for their videos, and that really affected Lanre Tyson's reputation as a video director. MAGIC - L.O.S ft Shank (2011) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDkZx2xKqDU[/flash] INSANE GIRL - B Red ft Davido (2013) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCu_t0OFeTM[/flash] Moe Musa is not a good video director, he's attempting to use PR, and promises to top Nigerian artistes to bamboozle the general public. His videos are quite poor, and sort of similar for that matter: Plenty girls wearing pant and bra in a large space with the musician. I believe he has major plans to improve though. He has mentioned that much, and he's determined enough to do it. GO LOW - Wande Coal (2012) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnZGGz_HPmo[/flash] AZONTO - WizKid (2013) [flash=720,600] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grPJ8DemVrE[/flash] For the record, Jude Okoye and GodFather are not video directors. What they do is hire the entire crew, director, and editor needed to make the video. then they pay them huge amounts to forfeit credit for all the work. I repeat: JUDE 'ENGEES' OKOYE IS NOT A MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTOR O! Hmmm, I should blog this. No? |

To sustain a 100% Nigeria auto manufacturing unit, one virtually has to own a power generating company. This policy can only help foreign car companies sell more, provide corrupt politicians with more loot, and enable smugglers earn more. Good policy, wrongly timed and applied. Any percentage increase in tariff should be on ALL vehicles, at a time when Nigeria starts producing a reasonable quantity of cars. |
