Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo Faces Scrutiny From Charities Commission Over Church's Finances by nex(m): 9:32am On Aug 18, 2013
The UK Government is very broke right now, and that £3,000 per immigrant is not going to be enough. Everyone repatriating funds in the name of whoever must open up their books. It's not enough to solicit funds for the poor, and then use it to become the rich. Goodluck to Oyedepo, I hope some of the funds were donated private jets.
Science/Technology › Re: Hairy Dog Portrayed As African Lion In Chinese Zoo Exposed by nex(m): 7:56am On Aug 17, 2013
This is just stupidity in a poorly managed zoo. As an Animal Scientist myself I do understand that this mistake could happen during breeding times, but what they could have done was shut down the zoo for a period of time.

This is gross miseducation, and someone should be punished for it. I understand that we live in times when people can afford to be careless, and nobody blinks an eye, but when it comes to education about life, it's unforgivable.
Phones › Re: MTN Nigeria Handed-Out Free Data Bundles By Mistake by nex(m): 9:35am On Aug 10, 2013
MTN, the number one Yahoo-Yahoo practitioner in Nigeria. Even if they don't recoup this loss directly from those who got it, they will do it through the backdoor.

PORT NOW! Port from MTN because they will exact their revenge on all customers across the board. They don't care who ox mistakenly got free data!
Romance › Engaged To The Range by nex(op): 9:40am On Aug 07, 2013
Yesterday was a very sad day for true love, and romance. Saint Valentine would be spitting in his grave right now. William Shakespeare is totally lost for words on this one.

Peter Okoye of the P Square twins proposing marriage to his fiancée with a Range Rover SUV, to me, is very troubling. Viewing the photos from the scene of the mishap is even more heart-wrenching.

Was he asking Lola Omotayo to marry the 'jeep', and take him along as the driver? Is he asking the young lady to marry him because of the car? Is he using the car to entrap her, knowing full well that a rejection of his proposal would be a rejection of this expensive gift? From the picture above, it was even the car that brought the flowers, popped the question, and even gave the ring. I'm surprised the chick ended up hugging Peter. I thought she'd hug the car, and say yes to it.

I worry for these young people today. What lesson are there for his son to learn? You use wealth as a trap to ensnare women, even into marriage? Tomorrow, when he he falls on bad economic times, and he's not able to purchase the 2020 Range Rover Evoque, what happens then? Divorce?! I know some fathers who would make sure any man who insults their daughter's dignity like this never sets eyes on her, ever again.

I even wonder what we'll hear next. Someone may soon propose to a woman with a Bank Draft, or another with a plot of land. Then again, the fact that the story was simultaneously carried by paid bloggers all over the internet is just all the more worrisome. Who paid them?!

We've just gotten over DJ Khaled and his stupid joke with Nicki Minaj, and then this. Unfortunately, unlike his American counterpart, Peter is not into any form of comedy...that's the best he could do at proposing marriage.

Due to the sort of music they've been making lately, I have little respect left for the Okoye twins, and that little is because they are genuinely from their hearts, very nice people. However, I think they direly need etiquette training...their elder brother too.
Celebrities › Re: Prince Uzoegwu Sues Blogger N100M For Calling Him Gay by nex(m): 8:05pm On Aug 06, 2013
Erm, this guy sort of has looks which could be attributed to homosexuals. However, we must remember that homosexuality is no longer an insult or taboo, it's now a crime, punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

If you're accusing someone of a crime, you must have clear evidence of them committing the crime. You cannot publish a document claiming that someone is an armed robber, simply because he physically looks like an armed robber, or he dresses like one.

Anyway, this all seems like some unnecessary hype, as I personally have never previously seen this dude in all my life, despite being with Goldie for a very extended period before her death. Her main fashion designer and stylist is "Anuba Couture".
Phones › Re: 48.3 Million Nigerians Browse Internet On Mobile Phones by nex(m): 12:30pm On Aug 06, 2013
This is quite the reality. Mobile browsing is now the preferred means of accessing the internet. The most recent spike in users may be caused my a surge of lower priced internet accessible phones by the Asian brands, especially TECNO.

Unfortunately for us, the more we're hooked on the internet, the more we rely on foreigners for our communication. Nigeria has made negligible investment on the internet, but massive investment in access to it.
Crime › Re: Man Uses Fake Bank Alert To Steal N5m by nex(m): 9:35am On Aug 06, 2013
Yahoo-Yahoo has now graduated to FirstBank-FirstBank! They spend so much intelligence on crime, which if properly invested in legal business, would eventually yield far more.

Music/Radio › Music Video: OCHANYA - Ayoola Ft Phyno, Directed By Clarence Peters by nex(op): 1:03am On Aug 05, 2013
The track was released on June 12, 2013 by the winner of MTN Project Fame Season 5, Ayoola, who featured one of the fastest rising rappers in the Nigerian music industry, Phyno.

I was personally at the shoot of the video, and the scale of the project was monumental. Unfortunately, 5 minutes is not enough to capture all of the clips shot for this music video. The "Ochanyas" were absolutely on point.

Clarence Peters, who is the most prolific video producer in the country today, directed the piece, and after more than a month of post production, Capital Dreams Pictures in conjunction with Ultima Studios / MTN presents OCHANYA!

Entertainment › Re: How Much Will You Spend On Buying An Original Cd/dvd??? by nex(mod): 9:43am On Jul 29, 2013
In terms of Audio CDs of musicians albums, it depends on how good the previous singles released by the artiste before album is out. I bought the "FIRSTEPS" album by Ego from Lagbaja's band for N1000 earlier in the year, and I bought the "SUPERSUN" album by Bez a couple of years ago for N1500.

I personally believe that any artiste who knows that they've created an album of quality music would not sell it for cheap. In order for me to be able to review music from various other artistes who mainly churn out meaningless songs, I used to purchase the N150 copies just to have a listen and write my review, but since I learnt that they even consider that as a good sale, I resorted to borrowing. I'm not buying any musical Audio CD which cost less than N500 anymore! It definitely contains crap.
Politics › Re: Army Surrounds Boko-Haram's Shekau In Borno Hills by nex(m): 9:24am On Jul 29, 2013
It's funny how people are commenting here as if anything has been achieved. "Shekau may have been surrounded"?! Is this a result?! When did Nigeria fall so deep into this trap of suggestive reporting developed by the USA, and exported to every other gullible nation.

Did you ever read "Anini may have been surrounded" in the news?! For all we know, this Shekau fellow may be in Chad, and some morons are just here dishing out guess work that cannot be used to achieve anything. We need professional reporters reporting real events that occur, not pre-supposing and posturing to no end than to invite more hits to the websites and reads to their papers. Something has to be done, and with what I read earlier today, even the Nigerian Union of Journalists is fed up.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why You Place Your Bible So Close To You On The Bed? by nex(m): 9:14am On Jul 29, 2013
So why do you place a novel so close to you on the bed? It's simply because your bed is the main place you have to read any piece of literature which is not related to school or work, and needs to be read at ones own personal relaxation time. SIMPLE!
TV/Movies › Re: Liz Benson & Stephanie Okereke Co-star In 'Dry' by nex(m): 8:58am On Jul 29, 2013
I hope it won't be dry. The title seems a bit dry though, and it is actually "DRY". I'll watch the trailer sha.

Okay, from the little I've seen, it may have been one of those projects they set aside, but are now trying to release due to the relevance of the issue of maternal mortality, especially as it relates to child marriage. Well, I know it's not a movie I'll derive joy from watching, and I don't think there's anything new it's going to teach me, because from the trailer, they're still touching on the basics. So for me, I'll skip this.

For those who wish to gain a fair insight into maternal mortality generally, and also this whole child marriage thing in particular, it'll be a good watch.

Entertainment › Re: WITCH CRAFT: Bird Turns Into A Woman In Okokomaiko, Lagos State [PHOTO] by nex(mod): 7:58am On Jul 29, 2013
What Nigerians need is a massive dose of enlightenment which I believe, at this point, can only be delivered by force. Only God knows what this old lady has gone through at the hands of this ignorant mob.

We've been a sad people for so long that most of us have become sadists! The shocking part is that someone who has received adequate education to the extent of being able to operate a computer will type that there may be some truth in the story, simply because he went to buy a GSM recharge voucher, and heard some gossip there. Where is it written in the UN Charter that any gossip heard at the kiosks of recharge card vendors contain elements of truth?

Like I said before, what we need is massive enlightenment. Education is not enough.
Christianity Etc › Re: ''born Again'' -what Did Jesus Mean? by nex(m): 4:37pm On Jul 22, 2013
What Jesus meant was that you must have more than one child in order not to end up in HellFire. Parents who give birth to an only child, deprive such an offspring of brotherly or sisterly love, which is the worst sin anyone can ever commit, hence, whoever indulges in this heinous act will not make Heaven.

Once you have decided to have children, if you born one, make sure you born again.

Thank you!

What should we now do for her? Start a #SaveVirginity campaign? Or #VirginNotDisvirgin? Abeg, these Oyibo should carry their problems to another planet before God will vex for them and destroy the whole world with us in it.
Music/Radio › Re: Storm 360 Music Boss Eulogizes Old Genre Musicians For Their Good Lyrics by nex(m): 4:22pm On Jul 22, 2013
Obi Asika is an unserious fellow. Was he not the one who used all of his resources to impose the nonsense music of Jazzman Olofin on us?! He has added a lot of other acts who are out to do nothing other than inflicting noise on our eardrums.

Why his eulogy for that which he personally destroyed?! He better star celebrating the monster he created!

Celebrities › Re: Miss Nigeria 2013 Or MBGN 2013 : Who Is Your Beauty Pick? by nex(m): 3:35pm On Jul 22, 2013
Miss Nigeria is far more beautiful than this MBGN fellow. The MBGN contest had more beautiful girls than the Miss Bayelsa who was eventually chosen as the winner. I really cannot understand how that came to be.

For the purpose of international contests, it would be best that Miss Nigeria represents Nigeria.
Fashion › Re: Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria 2013 Contestants In Traditional Attire by nex(m): 8:07pm On Jul 17, 2013

Fashion › Ezinne (akudo) Anyaoha Is Miss Nigeria 2013 by nex(op): 8:04am On Jul 07, 2013
So did I tell you, or did I tell you?! It was too obvious. It was so obvious, that the real celebration right now is the transparency of the Miss Nigeria 2013 contest, even more than the victory of Akudo at the pageant. I was invited to the Miss Nigeria 2013 fanpage by a follower on Twitter who wanted me to vote her friend, then I saw this true beauty, and I thank God we're in a democracy.

The 22-year-old Ezinne Akudo, a law graduate of ABSU, outdid 20 other contestants, and was crowned Miss Nigeria 2013 at about 1 am today, Sunday, 07-07-2013 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos. Just like African royalty used to be crowned in the old times.

The Miss Nigeria 2013 crown also comes with 3 Million Naira, a brand new car, and a trip to California, USA. Congratulations to Akudo, and the Creative Director of Miss Nigeria, Elohor Elizabeth Aisien, also of Beth Models Africa. We commend the organizers of the event, Daily Times Nigeria, and African Times Network too for the improvements we see.

PS: For those of you who boldly sent me messages on Twitter, and via BBM soliciting votes for other contestants, REPENT!!!

TV/Movies › Re: Nigeria's Coat Of Arms Used In A Hollywood Movie (pix) by nex(m): 6:54pm On Jun 29, 2013
Well, if the coat of arms is used to portray Nigeria in a good way, the government may overlook it, however, if it is used in a derogatory manner, what the government should do for now is advise them to remove it, and then possibly sue. However, I do not know if they'll win.

A painter once painted a British Pound note on a wall where he caricatured the queen of England, he was charged with forgery, and henceforth, the British Pound denominations were copyrighted.
Music/Radio › Re: Songs You Didnt Know OJB Produced by nex(m): 6:51pm On Jun 29, 2013
Myself and a couple of friends who were staff of a radio station, searching for exceptional talent, once organised a talent show. Since didn't want to hinder these young struggling kids with an entry fee for the competition, we had little funds to put together the event, and none at all to issue as prizes.

We decided to reach out to all the op producers in Nigeria to produce free tracks for the winner. One of the first producers to volunteer was OJB Jezreel. He produced a track for the Winner of the March 2012 Edition of Naija Playlist Productions. Here's the track by Syko Lojikal, featuring OJB Jezreel titled "I SURVIVE". It's one of the best songs I ever heard.

I SURVIVE: http://www.hulkshare.com/ezyqjrax6k8w

I know OJB will survive, I have not rested since I heard, trying to scratch together every spare dime I can lay my hands on to pay my own due. He still has a lot to give.

Celebrities › Re: BankyW's 'Good Good Loving' Video Shoot (Pictures) by nex(m): 10:03am On Jun 29, 2013
I don't think Clarence Peters did justice to Banky W's "Yes/No" video. The storyline was good, even though it was mainly a Banky W concept, but the editing and colouring came out not as good as the standard which Banky W himself set with his "Strong Tin" video.

I hope to see something better anyway.
