First and foremost, they've already found love. He's already taken the time to let her know the kind of man he is. When he had money, he got to meet her, give her a wonderful time. Now, if you have seen various married couples, you'd know that they way things were when they were courting is different from how things become when they get married. They tone down the fun and get very serious, but that don't mean they don't love each other. They will still love each other, but the fun won't be as much as it used to be. Anyway, their relationship ended more than a decade ago, not because they got broke, but for the fact that each couldn't give up their RELIGION for the other's. They're both now happily married to other people. Thank you. |
@goldygirl It is absolutely unAfrican for anybody to get married before introducing their partner to the family. In fact, every culture down here regards that as an insult. In as much as I want to give this guy the benefit of doubt, I also don't want you to get hurt. His family could be very poor, they could be totally against him marrying a foreigner, or he may be the black sheep of his family in which case he believes they'll never support anything he does. These are just the genuine reason I feel anyone who's African would want to get married without introducing their partner to the family. So you need to ask him for the truth. But the story about it being expensive is a lie. The story about his family wanting you to get married first is a lie. Ask him for the truth, and whatever he says, post it in here. If we can confirm that as another lie, then avoid him. |
I see you're still not getting the issue here. Consider a woman that is richer than her man. She's not a golddigger. But a man must be able to afford the things that will provide romance in the relationship. How do you meet her in the first place if you don't go to expensive places? How do you take her out if you don't have money? How you going to take her on a holiday or even meet her up in Europe. There was a time my sister was dating the MD of NICON Insurance. She worked in an oil company and she used to go to Europe a lot courtesy her company, but whenever he called her and she was missing him, he'd just get on a plane and go check her up. Tell me that is not just the coolest thing or that would not require money. If I could take a few weekends off to go check my girl up in the UK, our love won't be dying now. Abi? The problem is, when people think of money buying love, they're reasoning is of purchasing a relationship with cash. That's not all It's about my friend. |
Many people don't know how to use money. |
Sacrifice - Charity anything you sacrifice becomes charity. And without charity, you cannot sacrifice anything. Good word though. Sacrifice. |
What exactly do you people feel jealousy is? If I know a guy who's going out with someone I want for myself, I could get jealous. But how can I get jealous of someone that is mine and I'm hers? If you say the guy is suspicious, I can understand. But for him to be jealous, that means your love belongs to someone else or you share a better relationship with someone else. If you man is suspicious, give him assurance but if his jealous, take what you're giving someone else and give it to him. |
I think money can buy you love but not by direct purchase. Money can afford you a lifestyle that will attract and sustain love. With absolutely no money, can you even go on a date to start with? |
@bilqiss well, I used to have a compilation with most of those songs in it. I don't know where that is right now. And I hardly listen to new music. The artiste these days are all about themselves. I can't imagine playing a song where the artiste is asking us to call out his name. I still play: O - Omarion |
@Afam I don't know why Nigerians encourage bad things in this country yet they want the country to be good. Propaganda, police brutality, Tribalism, summary executions, religious fanatism and every other form of madness. |
Nigerian Police, you have heard it from the mouth of the donkeys. You have been given the mandate to make final decisions and mete out punishments for crimes. We no more have a problem with those Nigerians that have spent decades in jail without trial, we take no issue against all the many suspects that have been killed in custody. You recent actions in the case of Boko Haram shows that you make your decisions based on truth and divine knowledge. Carry on, you are our friend! we love you!! We support you!!! |
@olasboy the same AIT O! They've used the appeal fund to host Owanbe. |
And Nigerians are singing praises. I always knew the masses and the police are friends. They've just been pretending. See how Nigerians are celebrating the Nigerian Police at the height of the inhumanity. WE LOVE YOU NPF! Kill us! To hell with the judges. They waste time. They give the benefit of doubt, AND WE DON'T WANT THAT! |
Just like Frank Nweke cannot be compared to Dora in the field of Pharmacy, so she is not his mate in International Affairs and Diplomacy. The job of the information minister is to make the Country sound good. But Dora Akunyili just admitted that this country has committee a very devious crime. She has just told the whole world that Yar'Adua is guilty of the crimes are same as Idi Amin's. How does this help the government or the nation. |
@mikeansy your investigative reporting is beginning to seem just like that of Saharareporters. |
Very true O! Since all una just dey praise how NPF take kill these men, then e don change to Lotto Nigeria: E FIT BE YOU O! |
I hope you guys know that Yar'Adua is the only world leader that has spoken against the third term agenda of the Niger president and pledged to fight it off this planet. Tomorrow, when Niger starts enjoying a new administration, the whole world will deny that Yar'Adua has anything to do with it. We deserve no praise. It is our nature. We believe nothing good should come out of us. |
Very good news. I've never heard anybody complain about re-colonization when the USA promise all their never-coming aid. Have we now re-colonized Sierra Leone and Liberia. Some countries even Nigeria give sincere and unselfish aid. |
@na2day? Stew |
@ Sapeleguy how many terrorist groups you know have access to nuclear bombs. |
You know it is a crime to cause alarm and panic among the citizenry? Just informing. |
1. When he throw the knife my eye get affect. (on NTA). 2. Stop longing your neck. 3. You uses macleans? |
Facebook is fun for me cos I get to meet most of my Facebook friends in real life. Besides the people I invited to Nairaland, or those that I knew before getting on Nairaland, I haven't met a single Nairalander. I've got two groups on Facebook: the Lagos Group and Enyimba Group. I've attended a lot of Facebook parties and have turned down more than 1 million. Though when most people join Facebook, It's very exciting, but very gradually, it gets boring. Nairaland however, is usually boring when you join but gradually, it gets exciting. |
@countrygirl nexbestthing@yahoo.com seriously though, the thread should go back to one word to describe love. |
Ah! None? This is messed up. |
Is that the question you came here to answer? |
I think we've all succeeded in derailing this thread. |
Well, I've been in love with the same person for 4 years now and we didn't officially break up per se. Distance just drifted us apart and as long as she's not started a new relationship in the UK, I feel guilty getting into one. I guess that's why I'm still single. Plus, I don't think I'm the fine boy I used to be. But the gym is fixing that. |
