Well I see that you people deleted my post in reply to Olabowale. I therefore cease to reply on this thread |
@Olabowale: There you people go derailing the thread again. But consider these: Nezan, if you have that verse from the Quran or the ahadith, I will like to know it. When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example (mathalan), behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example (mathalan) to the Children of Israel. And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (ilmun) (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. Let not the Evil One hinder you: for he is to you an enemy avowed. When Jesus came with Clear Signs (al-bayyinati), he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way. But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day!" S. 43:57-65 Y. Ali The Qur’an states that the Prophet was recurrently questioned concerning the timing of the Day of Judgement and was repeatedly commanded by God to simply reply, "Knowledge thereof belongs to God alone." In the Hadith records, however, the Prophet supplies numerous predictions of events that will herald its coming. Since the Qur’an is so insistent on how the Prophet should respond to these queries, I find it odd that he would offer so many details and hints about the arrival of the Hour. (Lang, Losing My Religion: A Call For Help [Amana Publications, 2004], p. 250) In his footnote he provides a whole slew of references which expressly deny that Muhammad knew the future: 140. Surahs 7:187; 10:48-49; 27:71; 31:34; 32:28; 33:63; 34:29; 36:48; 43:85; 51:12; 67:25-26; 72:25; 79:42-45. (Ibid.) It is wonderful to know that all abrogated verses remained in the Quran, except what Nezan and others called the satantic verses The event of the Satanic Verses shows how a verse in the Qur'an could be modified or deleted at a later date. This is an example of the Qur'anic doctrine of abrogation. The Hadith also records several other occasions where verses of the Qur'an were modified, added to or deleted. Narrated Al-Bara: There was revealed: "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and those who strive and fight in the Cause of Allah." (Qur'an 4:95) The Prophet said, "Call Zaid for me and let him bring the board, the inkpot and the scapula bone (or the scapula bone and the ink pot)." Then he said, "Write: Not equal are those Believers who sit , ", and at that time 'Amr bin Um Maktum, the blind man was sitting behind the Prophet. He said, "O Allah's Apostle! What is your order for me (as regards the above Verse) as I am a blind man?" So, instead of the above verse, the following verse was revealed: "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame etc.) and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah." (Qur'an 4:95) (Bukhari: volume 6, book 61, number 512, Khan, agreed) This account clearly records the revision of 4:95 from its initial to final form. This type of modification is exactly what happened in the account of the Satanic Verses. Here is another example. Narrated Sahl bin Saud: When the following verses were revealed: "Eat and drink until the white thread appears to you, distinct from the black thread" (2:187) and "of dawn" was not revealed, some people who intended to fast, tied black and white threads to their legs and went on eating till they differentiated between the two. Allah then revealed the words, "of dawn", and it became clear that meant night and day. (Bukhari: volume 3, book 31, number 141, Khan) And another example. Narrated Said bin Jubair: Ibn Abza said to me, "Ask Ibn 'Abbas regarding the Statement of Allah: , ', nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause , except those who repent, believe, and do good deeds.'" (25.68-70) So I asked Ibn 'Abbas and he said, "When this (25.68-69) was revealed, the people of Mecca said, "We have invoked other gods with Allah, and we have murdered such lives which Allah has made sacred, and we have committed illegal sexual intercourse. So Allah revealed: 'Except those who repent, believe, and do good deeds and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.' (25.70) (Bukhari: volume 6, book 60, number 288, Khan) And another example. In this case the verse was removed (cancelled) from the Qur'an altogether. Narrated Anas: , We used to recite, "Inform our people that we have met our Lord, He is pleased with us and He has made us pleased". Later on this Quranic verse was cancelled. (Bukhari: volume 4, book 52, number 57, Khan) Thus the Satanic Verses are not the only example of where the Qur'an was revised and modified. The modification of the Qur'an was a characteristic of how it developed. In fact, enough verses were modified or deleted that it made people doubt Muhammad was a genuine prophet and the issue had to be dealt with in the Qur'an: And when We exchange a verse in the place of another verse - and God knows very well what he is sending down - they say (to Muhammad), "Thou art a mere forger!" (Qur'an 16:101, Arberry) How is Quran plagiarised when some people have proven in the Christian camp that Allah was used in the Christian Bible, because they, the Christian Arabs have no choice but to use Allah, The God, as a response, to the already existing Quran in clear Arabic Funny, you mean God was called Allah in Jesus time? is Allah Aramaic or Arabic? ![]() |
@ Mushin, Please you are derailing the thread. I don't want to appear as if I am quarelling with you. Enough said on the matter? Let me rest. |

muhsin:Must you always resort to name calling in the midst of superior argument? muhsin:You were the person who derailed with questions that were not connected, but I answered them all. I haven't run, Iam still replying your posts. ![]() muhsin:No way, the blood of Jesus and his grace are sufficient to see me through ![]() |

Keep up the good work |
@Muhsin, We have greatly derailed on this thread. The issue of discuss was Mohammed's lusting over a baby of six years and you have tactically tried to take my attention from that. But seems we have all agreed that Mo was a paedophile. To your question, if you believe that verse, why find it difficult to believe John the Baptist's testimony that Jesus was the son of God that took away the sins of the world, and the testimony of God that Jesus was his son? You choose parts of the bible to quote and at the same time claim it is not the original injil, e tire me-o. Good is, mohammed had a thing going for them young babies of six years, abi? ![]() |
olabowale:But that shouldn't make it approved. If you do something that was wrong, it remains wrong, no need justifying it. The fact that Mohammed lusted over a six year old baby was wrong, no need trying to justify it. |
ah, Sugar mummy. No spoil dat boy-o ![]() |
muhsin:You seem to be dull, dont your prophet say Jesus was the greatest of all men? muhsin:Are you denying the existence of the satanic verses that were later abrogated? why did you think Ayatollah Komenei declared a fatwa on Salman Rushdie? muhsin:You seem to be dumb, the answer was self explanatory muhsin:How do you trust a plagiarized book when you have the original? If you dont have serious issues to discuss, stop wasting my time, please. |
