StarBoard: I shouldn't be taking you seriously.Rich coming from the bat that saw Mikel playing in the hole for Nigeria this World Cup... and it is a government-sponsored and government-nominated/dominated FA that is the solution to Nigeria's football problems? The Nigerian Premier League is sponsored by GLO and not the Government You got to hear about the scandal because there is a certain level of transparency to which the English FA can be held accountable. You got to hear about that because they audit themselves and make sure they can account for every penny, spent or embezzled. Yet there was a time our so called league went without sponsors because Glo pulled out due to accountability from the then NFA.You are jumping from to post without making any sensible or coherent argument. How the corruption scandals were dealt with in England and Italy is not the point....The point is that it has been shown to EXIST. Even at the highest level of FIFA administration. There is no proof that Juventus's eventual demotion has stopped corruption in the Italian game. You claimed that corruption is the reason for a lack of private investment in the league. I have just shown you that despite the obvious corruption, investors are still rushing to Italy. Your argument is not that simpleIn the 80s and 90s there was no competition from external leagues. There was no cable TV and everybody was interested in home grown football. The majority of the franchises back then were privately owned, and the government was even offering tax breaks to the owners of the franchises to encourage growth.... When things went bust in the mid 90s, the respective state Government's had to take responsibility for the various clubs because everyone was going into administration.... The irregularities you see today with the refs and match fixing, are largely because the NPL today is run as a Welfare Programme by the respective State Governments... It doesn't matter if the teams win or lose as the financial penalty is neglible, with the clubs being funded by the tax payer anyway... all of the above are some of the hallmarks of the gross inefficiency and incompetence of successive years of government-led NFA/NFF boards that have consequently led to a situation where we cannot make an impact on the world game at senior level.Take it or leave it, the 'incompetent' and 'inefficient' NFA/NFF as you call them SAVED NIGERIAN FOOTBALL. Nobody else would touch it with a barge pole. Look at clubs like Sharks FC of Port Harcourt with average attendance of 500 people last season. Ditto Bayelsa United. Yes there is a security problem at games, but how would you convince a private investor to fork out to buy a club if only 500 people attend home games? ![]() I never said I was an expert...or that I had the solution. You are the one who was running your mouth(as usual) trying to be smart while looking foolish(as usual), and when asked to expand on your assertions, resorts to foaming at the mouth with weak yabs(as usual) ![]() |

MrRenaissance: The dumbest post I've ever read since the history of NL. Religion/Tribalism is the bane of our existence in Nigerian. Such a pity.Religion is actually the saving grace of millions of Nigerians... At least Christianity and Islam offer the hope of a better life after enduring this one, a paradise that exists to compensate for the hell they live in, and the promise of divine intervention into their desolate affairs... Imagine having to suffer the daily Nigerian grind without any hope of improvement? |

StarBoard: read between the lines and make whatever meaning you want to.Despite your suggestion that the government should completely handover to the private sector, you clearly have no idea on how to actually improve the game. Is there any society where there is no corruption? Has the Serie-A not been plagued with corrupt scandals? In 2006 the BBC exposed the massive levels of corruption in the English game involving Redknapp, Allardyce etc Fifa right now is rocking from several accusations of corruption at the very highest level... Yet it has not stopped numerous private investors from flocking to Europe hoping to invest in their leagues... Corruption permeates every level of Nigerian society, yet the private sector is still thriving Why? Because the Private sector is driven by profit, profit is driven by greed, and greed is the very foundation of corruption. So the private sector will not shy away from a chance to make profit simply because the regulatory bodies are corrupt... The simple reason the private sector is not overly represented in the GPL is a lack of profitability as a direct result of the absence of a sustainable fan base... That's why I'm asking you what ideas YOU have to change the situation...and I'm not surprised that you have nothing to say ![]() |
StarBoard: The private sector is moribund because of the corruption of the NFF.You're still saying very little with this... Is it the NFF that is stopping more private investors from buying existing clubs or setting up existing franchises? |
StarBoard: you have to start from somewhere. You haven't offered any ideas... You just said the government needs to get the private sector involved... I'm asking you what your ideas are...how do you get the private sector more involved than they are now? |
StarBoard: Get the private sector involved. What is the fanbase of the average German club side? What is the fanbase of the average Nigerian club side? This should give you an idea of the profitability of Nigerian football... Btw the private sector is already heavily involved with Nigerian football at the moment....and it's still moribund... What would you do to change this? |
Pix of you being busty or adonbilivit... ![]() |
A brief history of this interaction to viewers out there... I made this post on a separate thread on a separate subject: Nihilist: I'm not exactly sure why people keep hating on Covenant University though...Kolo-suss the olodo quoted me with this response: colossus2: Diamonds don't shine niccur....they reflect.I have now posted several English definitions from several reputable dictionaries including Oxford, Webster and Cambridge that state that the very act of light reflection is in fact called 'SHINING' Yet this malnourished bonobo continues quote me,peddling his malignant brand of ignorance... Kolo-suss you need deliverance ![]() |
colossus2: I thought you were smart anyway. Did you notice the [NO OBJECT] before the definition there. My Good Lord... This level of idiocy must be spiritual ![]() |
kishimi8: For u to say fortran is not an important language is very wrong . Fortran is the goto language for major physicists and engineers due to its number crunching abilities and it is not outdated it supports all the object oriented programming tricks new languages use.Ermmm Fortran? Have you quoted the wrong person? |
