Family / Re: My Narcissistic Brother by Nikkganc08(m): 12:13pm On Jun 11, 2022
Moonshine101:
Hello Everyone!

I have a family issue but I don't have someone to speak to about it, so I'm very grateful for your inputs on this matter.

SOME BACKSTORY (You can skip this if you want):
I'm the youngest of my two siblings (26M). I have a sister and a brother. My sister's kinda okay. My brother (35) is a selfish, toxic and entitled person. He dropped out from the university, doesn't have a job and he steals from my parents like my dad's watches or property or my mum's jewellery and then sells them to buy weed or something.

One time he sold my mum's car and after some police and legal issue that basically went nowhere, she basically had to steal it back (The guy who bought it, passed away a little while after, so I guess that case is closed..), he once took my phone while I was sleeping because I refused to give him a different phone I had, that belongs to me after selling his own phone or something. It's like he acts solely on impulse. My dad (who's in his 70s now) is almost always on security alert when my brother is around. As for my mom, she just straight up enables him and bails him out of trouble every time, saying things like "He's your brother" or "God will change him" when I talk to her about it. My brother and I got into a fight, like a year before I left for university, because he wanted to look around my room to see if I had his usb cable despite me telling him I don't have it nor have I seen it. That was the last time I willingly spoke to him.

My family moved into a new house and I finally left for school (my brother stayed in the old house and my sister moved in with her husband after marriage, so it was just him over there). During my 3rd year, I called my dad, asking him for some money because I was broke, and during the phone call, my dad tells me that he's at the hospital cuz my brother and some girl just had a kid. okay.. I came back for holidays and found out that his baby mama (who's also toxic and insults people alot) and kid, my nephew, are staying with us, with my parents providing for them while my brother stays in the older house, renting it out to people (who messed up the house and compound to the point it just became a disgusting place to live in) obviously without permission from my parents (who don't even own that house, it belongs to my uncle). By the time I graduated and came back home, he was now living with us in the new house because free food and no bills, I guess.

I haven't gotten a job yet so I'm stuck here.

Recently, he's been staying away from me because I don't talk to him or even look at him.

BACK TO THE TOPIC:
Around a year ago, I had a serious wakeup call and decided that, if I was going to go forward in life I would have to better myself so I began a journey of meditation and self-improvement, and I think I've made some good progress. Now the issue is my brother---earlier today, I saw him scouting our house (after my parents went out) and I could instantly tell he was up to no good. I was cooking when I began to hear some noise from upstairs like he was hacking at something. He came downstairs and readied his car while my cousin who stays with us (19) carried the AC unit my brother was planning to sell.
Usually I'll just mind my business and avoid him because he's an adult-child (narcissist) and I think he'll just put his vindictive sights on me if I interfere, but this time I don't know what came over me..

I called my cousin and demanded where he was taking that AC to. I then asked my brother (first time in years I've spoken to him) why he was taking it, he just gave one nonsense flimsy excuse then I told my cousin to return it. When he tried to explain whatever, I didn't acknowledge his presence, I just ignored him and ate my food. He just stood there staring at me for like 3 minutes before he left while murmuring something.

The main reason I've been avoiding him for long is because he's toxic and I decided that family or not, toxicity is still toxicity. He's very exploitative and once he familiarises with someone it's like an opening to trample the person's boundaries. I think I confronted him today because the more you ignore bad/evil the stronger it becomes and eventually it will come for you except now it'll be stronger from all the experience.

The issue is, I don't want to relapse into my old life of toxicity by further engaging him if he decides to steal from me on get physical because he's the kind of person that only listens to actions, not words.
Please, what do you think I do?
.

Don't die for nothing bro.

Since you're a graduate, get a job and move on.

But if I were in ur shoes, I'd remember that our parents properties belongs to me too.

Coarse ur parents to dash u all d landed property documents reminding them that if they don't, ur brother would sell it just like he sold d cars. That u just want to preserve it for them.

Pretend like u don't even need it for anything.

Also, look for anything valuable in ur house and carry. Its ur right too.

Nobody would even suspect u.
Your brother would be blamed 100%

Nobody has monopoly to violence.
Let everybody be MAD at same time.

A time would come when ur brother would look around, then discover he's 40 years old with a wife and kid to cater for.

And definitely, he'd be sleeping on d bare floor cos he might have sold his bed to raise money.

Of course, by then, ur Television, Air condition, Refrigerator, ceiling fan, electric bulbs, wall sockets, gas cooker, even the doors and curtains in the rooms will all be gone.

He'd try to sell that ur uncles house but it won't be successful.

He'd rent the whole flat (except his room) but still, d money won't be enough.

Its at that point that his life would flash back at him and he'd look up to heaven and shout...

"Father, forgive me...!!! For thy son knoweth not what he was doing"

It'd then be a case between him and God.

Let me warn u...

Openly challenging an Indian hemp smoker is plain foolishness.

Haven't u seen some of them swimming inside gutters, thinking that its a swimming pool?

Or those that slapped army men?

At that point of 'highness' , ur brother can even hack u to death with a cutlass while thinking that he's killing a fowl or a rabbit that mistakenly entered his house.

Ignore my counsel if u wish.

But sooner or later, you'd understand better.

Had it been he was below 20 years or ur junior brother, I would have given a better advice.

But at 35, and ur 'elder' brother?

Lol.

You've forgotten what they said about a FOOL AT 40?

Accept my condolence bro.

Once the house properties finishes, the next thing your brother would do is to start snatching peoples phones at night.

Then later on, he'd join night-robbery gangs.

God forbid though.

Cos once caught, he'd be roasted.

I pray he joins church before then.

But one day, try and call him.
Tell him u jus wan flex him some bottles of beer as brothers wey Una be.

Hail him as the 'ODOGWU'. The great man.
Men love it when their Ego is being massaged.

And also promise to dash him 3k if he shows up.

He will show up.

Talk to him politely, allow him to take a cigarette if he wants to, then ask about any skill or trade he'd like to learn that u guys want to support.

If he mentions any, do family contribution. Then go and register him there urself (don't give him cash ooo...!!! , register him by ur self)

Try and carry him along to church.

At this point in life, he needs people that'd point him to d right direction.

Business / Re: What Does It Cost To Drill A Borehole in Nigeria These Days? by Nikkganc08(m): 8:50pm On Jun 10, 2022
1kTask:
Nikkganc08

I see, that was definitely manual, from the videos I've seen.

How much was it after everything was done and installed? The grand total expenditure.

200k for digging d borehole.
Plus an extra 2k they insisted on for drinks and food while doing d job.

One GP tank was 65k

We spent around 25k for plumbing materials and 10k workmanship of plumber that connected the water upstairs (a 2-storey building).

There are cheaper pipes that could gave been used and costs around 1,100naira.
But the plumber insisted on using a higher quality pipe called 'bimbo' and the price was 1,900 per length. That's what made d materials costlier.

We also connected the other part of it directly to the tank downstairs.

The whole tenants fetches water downstairs from that tank.

To be honest, we've not done any electrical stuff.

I usually hook the wire of that white switch to an open wall socket downstairs (normal electrical socket), then water would start pumping.

Or sometimes, I plug it to our generator downstairs.

Upstairs, The stuff just has a mouth like a tap on top of our kitchen water-drum. Thats how we fill up our drums whenever water is being pumped.

We didn't take the GP tank upstairs because our house is old. It might not be able to carry such load again. hence, the tank wasn't placed on the rooftop again.

we don't also have 800k - 1.2 million naira to buy that BIG iron stand where tanks are placed. Thats why d tank was left downstairs.

It only runs/come upstairs when water is being pumped. Once u stop pumping water, it stops coming upstairs

We hired a Mason to mould a large block where d tank was placed so that people can fetch water from it. I wasn't around when it was done so I don't know how much it costed.

SUMMARY:

Digging borehole = 200k
Food for laborers= 2k

one GP Tank = 65k

Plumbing materials = 25k
Plumbers payment = 10k

Cements + blocks + sand = Around 30k
Masons payment = Around 10k

TOTAL= 342K.

Note: electrical work wasn't included.

If ur house is an upstair and u want to take that switch upstairs, you'd definitely buy one bundle (or more) of that wire the Water pump comes with (the one that has 4 wires inside it).

Then some other stuffs.

The electrical materials should cost u around 30k plus around 10k for workmanship.
Thats an estimate of 40k.

If ur house is a bungalow, one bundle of wire might not be needed. Hence , the electrical cost should be lower.

finally, just know that some people love putting those wires inside pipes. Just like its been done while decking a house.

If pipes are to be used , just add an extra 8k to the estimates I made (for a 2-storey building)

Or around 3k if its a bungalow

Thanks for the info. Was the actual digging done manually or machine?

How much did it cost for the entire thing to be fully functional and ready for use?

I can't tell d difference.

But I know that there where four men turning that cylindrical iron into the ground.

So, I guess...

It has to be manual.

They did a great job though cos d water is perfectly clean, odourless and tasteless.

They only installed that pumping engine inside the ground.

We bought tanks separately and also paid a plumber to connect pipes to it.

We also paid an electrician separately to fix that white switch to where it should be.

Money corrupts

That's why you'd see people older than my dad speak with zero wisdom.

Any ethnic group may rule.
Any religion may rule.

I have absolutely no problem with that.
But why let a man that's visibly sick rule?

His hands are shaking uncontrollably and Nigerians are seeing it.

He staggers while walking.

In one of the videos, our 'sick' BUHARI was even the one helping him to hold the APC flag.

Meaning that our sick BUHARI is even healthier than Tinubu.

He urinated on himself in broad daylight in one of those videos

Are these signs not enough?

These are sicknesses related to old age and can NEVER be reversed. It only worsens till death.

We All know that.

Google them, the videos are all on the internet.

Yet, its who these folks are clamouring for.

These same people are d ones retiring workers once they r up to 60 years.

Yet, at over 80 years, they don't want to retire.

Does it mean that INEC doesn't check for medical fitness before entrusting the highest position in a country to someone?

To enter University , you'd be checked.
Most high paying jobs checks.

But here, nothing.

When Tinubu is done with Nigeria, we would All praise Buhari for being a saint.

But i pray that God almighty will keep on putting food on our tables daily no matter how gloomy d economy may look.

While God puts food on ur table, you still need to work because faith without work is like a stick floating behind the arrow *******.

Let's leave the bible quotes.

Family / Re: My 17yrs Old Son Is Getting Out Of Hand by Nikkganc08(m): 9:03am On Jun 09, 2022
Anobody:
I'm a single mother of two teenage sons, lost my husband 10 years ago and have been struggling to cater for them singlehandedly. My first son is 19 and the last 17 years but I'm getting fed up with the disrespect and regret not taking them to the village so I could remarry.

They both left secondary school and working to save up for school and I don't ask them for a dime. My last son suddenly started behaving like a tout, pierced both ears and turning his hair to dread, takes my stuff without my permission and even to extent of holding my hands when I get furious to beat him.

My first son is dating a girl and spends all his money on her to the extend of asking me for transport fare sometimes. Sometimes they come home by 10 or 11pm and are ready to fight me if I get furious to discipline them.

What broke the camel's back was that my last son went to a friend's bday party overnight without telling me, my first son said he called to tell him he won't return and NONE OF THEM TOLD ME under my roof.

I've tried talking calmly, denying certain privilege and discipline but it keeps getting worse, my last option is to take them back to their father's village before I die of hbp.

I'm depressed nairalanders, please I seek matured advice, thanks.

Please help me push to front page
.

Your case is an easy one

I've seen teenage beasts change and become angels.

What's happening to ur kids can't be termed 'puberty' because they r 17 and 19 years already.

Rather , its called 'peer pressure'.

Men misbehave when they start getting s*x for d first time. Its normal if ur son gives all his money to his girlfriend in order for her to let him into her honey pot.

First...

NEVER make d mistake of trying to beat a 19 year old boy again. Its wrong.

dog owners are always being warned by experts to avoid beating their dogs, not to talk of humans.

The reason why ur kids are misbehaving is not far from where u live.

RELOCATE...!!!

once u do , his bad friends, night clubs, etc won't be easily reachable again.

If any of them refuses to join u, allow that person to rent his own house and live like a man without ur interference.
There's nothing u can do about it.

you've already messed up in parenting cos whatever u r seeing today didnt start today.
You should have noticed and stopped them Years ago.

Now listen carefully...

This is d most important step.

After relocating, look for one Christ embassy or a similar church and enroll them.

Once there name enters d 'new comers' list, those church guys can do follow up.

At 16 years ,one of my female relative was already prostituting and had her first abortion.
We weren't surprised because her mum had her own at 13 years and even as an adult, she's still prostituting.

Christ embassy followed her up and changed her life

She's now an usher. She goes to church by 6:30a.m to drop a paper where other church workers will write their name + time they came to church.

Another was a well-known rascal like ur kids as at 18 years.
Right now, he's a pastor at Christ embassy.
They changed him. You dare not misbehave around him.

Before u judge me, I am not a member of Christ embassy neither am I running adverts for them. I speak 100% truth from my personal experience.

Living word church also does that kind of follow up.

Finally, keep them busy.

Register them to learn skills.

A man that works daily would have little or no time for himself.

Not to even talk about time for partying , women, drugs, etc.

At this point, I'd ask one question to those reading this lengthy post...

Must u wait till u make writing mistakes u get grammarly premium?

Grammarly Premium detects and corrects all grammatical errors in ur works.

Then upgrades it to internationally accepted writing standards.

Don't tell me u don't know that I sell Grammarly premium, Quillbot, Canva pro, Turnitin, vpn ,premium courses and files ,etc at cheap prices.

My contact has always been In my nairaland profile, so there's no need re-iterating on that again.

Pls, go and get ur PVC

I understand Lagos, Abuja and PH cost more, but what about more rural communities?

My google searches show prices between N100k - N1m, on average. If anyone has engaged the drilling of one recently, what are the prices looking like? I also understand a manual and machine drilled hole cost different.

So another question is, what are the disadvantages of a manual one?

If you're wondering why I'm not asking about a specific location, it's because it's a social project and the locations haven't been chosen. Thanks!
.

Ours was a year ago.

Location: Abia state.

Total cost was around 200k after negotiations.

Pls, the money is just for digging the borehole alone and installing those underground pipes up to the surface level.

We bought the water tank seperately and Paid a plumber to connect water to it.

We Also paid an electrician separately to do the electrical connections.

What INEC said might be true.

But honestly, I don't trust any news from these Nigerian Agencies again.

I remember during d time of COVID, every morning those NCDC guys (don't know if d abbreviation is correct) would just Dole out some stats like....

15,658 persons tested

12,625 infected

7,298 deaths

882 discharged.

255 became mad

126 jumped the fence

All these fake numbers they gave is just to make it look as though these agencies are working, then they get huge budget allocations for the invisible task they are performing.

Billions of naira was budgetted for there sms alone.

Meanwhile, it'd be hard to spot just one of their center. Or a video of them testing, treating, or discharging the infected.

Should I talk about the SCHOOL FEEDING programme which d government budgetted 999 MILLION naira Daily, then kept on dishing statistics even when schools where on COVID-19 holiday?

Or TRADER MONEY scheme for d poor and small business?

Or bags of rice that was donated to Nigeria since the government has no plans for its citizens. These guys packed d bags of rice In their personal warehouse, rebranded and pasted their 'vote for me ' pictures, then ended up using the rice for political campaigns.
All we got was just fake stats of the number of invisible rice bags they shared.

If these things really work, the government would have fed me too through the school feeding program.

A test by NCDC would have showed that I don't have covid. Rather, I'm malnourished due to hunger and starvation.

They would have sent me some of that trader-money loan to add to my small business.

They can't claim that they aren't aware that I sell premium softwares like Grammarly, Quillbot, Turnitin Canva pro, VPN, Premium courses, etc at cheap prices.

They know I design quality logos, flyers, eBook covers, etc.

They are also aware that i make telegram airdrop bots.

can they claim that they don't know that my contact details is in my Nairaland profile & signature?

No, that's not possible.

The contact details is clearly visible even to the blind and I've spoken about it so... much that it's now audible to the deaf too.

Anyways, since 'freedom after speech' is a devalued currency in Nigeria, I'd simply act as though I believe all d news we've been fed.

My last hope is my VOTERS CARD that I kept safely somewhere as if its gold-plated with a 24 karat gold.

Its my last hope for saving humanity, starting with Nigeria.

Oh..., I forgot...!!!

I'm a Nigerian. My vote doesn't count.
The election would still be rigged.

I have poured out the content but then, I’m curious to know what it’s meant or used for..

Thanks.

I'm sure , u didnt buy A brand new car.
U bought a fairly used (tokunbo Car).

The previous car owner put it there.

Years ago when my dad imported and sold fairly used clothes (and hand bags) , we usually get all sorts of stuff.

Once d goods lands, d first thing they do is to search the Pockets.

You'd find all sorts of stuffs in the pockets ranging from stacks of money, toothbrush, books, small games, cigarette, condoms, pen, phones, etc.

To me, there's nothing special or strange here.

If the car is 'brand new' ,then know that its from one of ur girlfriends.

Check for the one that's extra religious and 29 - 36 years old range. She'd be d one that did it.

At such age, ladies r desperate to hook on to anyone that owns a car or has little money.

The olive oil doesn't look like d normal ones we have in Nigeria. It looks foreign and also, Original.

The kinda olive Oil a FAKE PASTOR or EVIL PRAYER HOUSE would recommend for serious man-woman hookup prayers.

You need to be careful.

But first, check ur girlfriends that r above 29.

I just noticed today that d waistbead my girlfriend has been wearing on her waist (which i admired) isn't ordinary.

Its a spiritual waistbead.

She happens to be a strong follower of a spiritualist tagged 'Aigenation' or 'digital Ogbanje' on Facebook.

She got d waistbead from d woman.

Let's find ways to make d government to extend the invisible feeding programme to the trenches where we stay.

God bless me.
God bless our darling president
God bless Nigeria

Career / Re: Contract Staff Job At 3 Oil Companies As An Explorer, Is It Possible? by Nikkganc08(m): 4:56pm On May 25, 2022
IsaacNewton869:
Hello everyone, hello geoscientist and engineers in the house, I'm a 300l of geology department from one of prestigious state university around the south South.

So I will be doing my Undergraduate Internship program Immediately strike is call off, actually I wish to do it in ExxonMobil or Total, but to me I know everything isn't about connection

So I want any experience staff here to explain on how I can make it to ExxonMobil or total even after my graduation

2, I also have a question that has been bothering me for a while now, is it possible to be a contract staff in many oil companies, to me I think is good, they will only call when they need you and pay you well, even if one Bleep up, u still know that u have a place in other companies too and u won't be bothered

3, do oil company employ geologist and geophysicist as an explorer or a drilling engineer

4, who did they need most between geoscientist (petroleum geologist, geochemist, geophysicist as an explorer, geological engineer, reservoir geologist) and

Engineers ( chemical engineer, mechanical engineer, civil engineer and electrical engineer)
Who do they employ most

Thanks
.

.

Yes you can by the special grace of God almighty.

If u r 'super intelligent' and u follow d right steps, there'd definitely be a slot for u.

Those companies value integrity.
They take in a lot of persons based on MERIT.

Others can come in through slots like "host community considerations/compensation".

And finally, the well connected ones

I wasn't super intelligent. Just average.
I wasn't from a host community.
No connections.

Hence, I didnt get such opportunity when I tried.

Did a lot but it didn't work even though I studied petroleum engineering.

Hopefully, someday... God's light would shine on me.
The needed connection would locate and connect me to place of grace.

But in the meantime, I'm keeping busy/paying off d bills through copywriting , making of telegram bots and trading bots, logo and Flyer design, and sales of premium softwares like: Grammarly premium, Quillbot, Canva pro, turnitin, VPN, etc
Properties / Re: Planning Relocation Because Of Armed Robbers by Nikkganc08(m): 1:30am On May 23, 2022
MrDevice:
My rented apartment was burgled last week and this happens to be the first ever since the house was built.

My flat not the first, but they ignored others and start with mine, and they gone away with valuables worth million before they burgled other occupants of the house and left with some valubles too.

So I'm currently planning to move to another safer place. The owner of the house said I should provide new Tennant that he will refund some part of my money.

The agent who's bringing them already knows why I want to leave but he's telling, I'm moving out because or work transfer.

My concern now is that, i don't know the security situation of where I'm going because agents lies too much. Could it be it's going be from frying pan to fire for me. Should I stay back to put our street security in order, or I should move out?

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU RELOCATE.

there's no way a thief would come to ur house and steal goods worth millions and u won't expect them to come back again for more.

Even if those ones don't come , their friends will come.

Had it been they got stuffs worth less than 10k , I'd have adviced u to remain there and don't relocate.

But hey...

Those guys MUST surely return for more.

Its just a matter of time.

Maybe , 1 or 2 months. But it won't exceed this year

Religion / Re: Low Turnout Of Teens In Churches Nowadays. by Nikkganc08(m): 9:55am On May 22, 2022
RedCentaur:
I just came back from service. I'm a Catholic, back then in my teen years, I do see alot of turnout of young people BTW 10-20 yrs of age.

But these days, it seems they ve left this church of a thing to the older folks.

What could be wrong?
.

Same thing happened to bet9ja shops.

Years ago, it used to be crowded.

But nowadays, there r bet shops everywhere. Hence , the shops tend to be scanty nowadays.

More over, playing games online has been made more easy.

But nowadays, we have more than 5 churches in every street in Nigeria and more that are still being built.

Can't u see why we'd never have crowded churches again?

Another NEW factor is the fact youths now do GROUP ROAD WALK every Sunday morning.
I don't know who Introduced that.

Also, those remaining play football on Sunday morning

Politics / Re: Electoral Act Section 84: Supreme Court Sets Date For Buhari, Malami's Case by Nikkganc08(m): 10:58am On May 19, 2022
Before going to court...

Our darling president will SACK all d judges then put his people there.

Then tell them exactly what to do or say.

And finally, make sure that they properly rehearse it all before coming to court.

Las las, Victory will be his own.

Same way Nnamdi Kanu will continue going to court , then remain in prison till President Bubu hands over presidential power.

Pls, before u judge my comment, just know that I'm 100% Igbo man and I pray for his immediate release.

Anyway, I sell premium softwares like Grammarly, Quillbot , Turnitin, Canva pro, VPN, etc

You'd login and confirm before any payment.
Prices are cheap and affordable.

Details in my profile.
