Tanx a lot. God bless u plenty.

@chamber2
The test was actually a computer-based I.Q TEST. There was no time limit. But the time u spend on it goes a long way to determining ur final score (and whether u'll be called back i suppose). So the faster, the better. 20 questions in all. Its very easy! U really don't have to rack ur brains studying Gmat. They are things u knw. Maths- sequences & series, english and some logic. Its just to test how intelligent u are.
I got info that the cut off mark is 100. I scored 124. So anything above 100 shud get u to the nxt stage.

Goodluck to future applicants!
Gudluck, and pls make sure you do update us on the interview stuff. Gudluck.

tanimola22: xy*11, where x+y is 9 and below--->x (x+y) y
11*11=1(1+1)1=121
12*11=1(1+2)2=132
13*11=1(1+3)3=143
.
.
.
18*11=1(1+cool 8=198

xy*11, where x+y is 10 and above---> Find x+y, then use (x+LHS of x+y) (RHS of x+y) y. For instance, 37*11: 3+7=10. LHS=1, RHS=0. Thus, x+RHS of x+y=4, RHS of x+y=0. So, 37*11=407.

19*11=209
28*11=308
38*11=418
39*11=429
59*11=649
89*11=979

xyz*11, where y+z, x+y are both 9 and below-----> x x+y y+z z

123*11= 1 (2+1)(3+2) 3=1353
426*11= 4 (4+2)(6+2) 6=4686
718*11= 7898
and so on

xyz*11, where at least one of y+z, x+y is 10 and above----> start from the last digit, i.e. z

279*11= (2+the carried 1=3)(2+7+ the carried 1=10 write down 0 then carry 1) (7+9=16 write down 6 then carry 1)9
So, you have 279*11=3069

998*11= 10978. Don't forget to start from the last digit

897*11= 9867

889956*11= 9789516

999 888 9982 966* 11= 109987789812626 (not too sure here. Please cross check)

So, 11 times is finished.

Simpler ones---25*25, 35*35, ---

15*15= 1*(1+1) 25=225
25*25= 2*(2+1) 25=625
35*35= 3*(3+1) 25=1225
.
.
95*95=9*(9+1) 25=9025

105*105=10*(10+1) 25=10*11 25=11025
115*115=11*(11+1) 25=11*12 25=13225
195*195=19*(19+1) 25=19*20 25=38025

For sure, there are tons of such tricks. But you are never going to learn them in one day. Let me allow you digest these ones.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Messi, Alves In Hotel Bust-up With Fans by nitrogen(m): 6:13am On Apr 22, 2012
Temistatics 007: Lionel Messi and Dani Alves were involved in an altercation at the
Grosvenor House Hotel just
hours before Barcelona’s
Champions League semi-final, first-leg defeat to Chelsea.
James McWatt, 19, and his friend Steve Carruthers, 21, bumped
into the pair in the corridor and asked Messi to sign a Barcelona
shirt, but Alves started shouting angrily at them in Spanish.
A club security guard then intervened, the police were called and
the fans, together with two other friends, were asked to leave the
£350-a-night five-star hotel.
“He was just about to when Daniel Alves put his arm in the way
and started screaming at us ‘No’.” McWatt said.
“He started going mental at us – shouting and screaming in
Spanish. I walked away and heard it getting really heated and
filmed it.
“We returned to our rooms. But later hotel staff and two police
officers came in and told us the Barcelona team wanted us out.”
He added, “We hadn’t been drinking and weren’t rowdy, just
excited in anticipation of meeting Messi.
“The incident was unbelievable. My respect for Barcelona has been
destroyed.”
The Manchester-based group, who were visiting from
Manchester, have now been banned for life from the hotel. www.punchng.com/sports/messi-alves-in-hotel-bust-up-with-fans/

Career › Re: How To Re-invent Your Career by nitrogen(m): 10:14am On Apr 20, 2012
Havilah93: How to Reinvent your Career
If you work long enough,
something along the way will probably happen to you. You will work with a co-worker who drives you crazy, a boss that doesn't get you, or an employee that keeps you up at night.
It's all a part of the working world. At other times, things will happen to you that will throw
you for a loop. Your job is
eliminated. You are fired without reason. Your industry goes away.
This is when it's important to take stock in who are you, what
you want out of life, and where you want to go next. So, how do you get yourself back on track; find your passion and
purpose again, and reinvent the next phase of your career? You
soul-search and ask lots of questions.
Here's where you begin:

1. You Make Time To Think.

Reinvention cannot happen without thought.
A clear picture of where you want to go next cannot come to
you unless you create time to think about it. This time is what
will allow you to get in touch with yourself and your priorities. One of the main reasons you're off
track right now, is because you've been "busy," too busy to
make time for you. This does not mean that you have to allocate days or weeks of thought to
nothing else; BUT regularly taking an hour here and there will make a tremendous difference.
Ask yourself, "When will I make time to think about what I want?" Notice that I am not saying to ask yourself whether you will find time, but rather
when you will make the time. It is essential to be assertive with yourself.
Once you have made the time, find a quiet place. Sit down and take deep breaths, as many as
you need to instill a sense of calmness. Your mind will want to wander, but you must bring yourself back. Remind yourself
why you are doing this. You want something better in your career. Focus on the importance
of this to your career, and
channel your thoughts in thisdirection.

2. You Ask Yourself What You Want

Reinvention happens when you decide what you want, and then
take action to get it. Without an end in mind, you will wander
aimlessly; and as long as you are aimless, you will be wasting time.
You will feel lost. You will be like a stray leaf, going wherever the wind takes you.
Ask yourself the following
questions:
If it was impossible to fail, what would be different in my career?
What type of job would I have?
What would I be responsible for?
What type of boss/co-workers/team would I have?
What kind of hours would I work?
What type of company would I work for?
What sort of culture would the company have?
What city would I live in?
How much money would I make?
How would I handle stress, my workload, and deadlines?
How would I successfully be balancing work and life?
There is no right or wrong answers to these questions. The
answers are what are true for you-not what someone else
wants for you, but what is in your heart. Listen to yourself, and your answers will be the perfect ones for you.
In addition, don't let past
mistakes or choices cloud your answers. It's not too late for you.

3. You Turn What You Want Into A Vision For Your Career

A vision is a picture of where you
see yourself in the future. Your picture can describe where you want to be in a day, a week, a month, a year, or even farther
into the future.
All goals are reached in the mind first. You see yourself both achieving that goal and experiencing the satisfaction it will bring you once you are there.
This picture is what will help you to persevere during times of
doubt. It will help you with your reinvention. Your picture will give
you purpose, power, and
excitement. Your picture will give you a reason to get out of bed every day.
Here's an example of a vision:
I will have a career that energizes me. I will work for a company that cares about its people and be responsible for projects that make a difference. I will be paid well for my contributions. I will
have a great relationship with my boss, co-workers, and staff, and work with supportive people. I
will work in a location with plenty of sunshine, for no more than eight hours a day. I will
commute no more than a half-hour each way. I will feel calm when everyone around me is stressed and I will wake up every
morning looking forward to the day.
Remember, reinvention is a journey. One day you may have no idea who you are anymore, and on another day, you will be
grateful for the events that have transpired in your life because
you have become a person you truly love.
So, what do you say?
well said.

Romance › Re: Some Likely Reasons Why Some Girls Are Still Single by nitrogen(m): 7:26pm On Apr 15, 2012
ifihearam: Here are some reasons why I think women are still single these days (in no particular order)*:

1. You’re not approachable.
Girl, you need to SMILE. Period. Guys need some green-light action so when they glance over and you don’t smile back, they take it as a “don’t even think about it” signal. This is what my male friends tell me. Another reason why you might be unapproachable could be because you are always surrounded by your girlfriends! Some women don’t know how to be alone. If you’re always with people how can people walk up to you? Try going to the movies alone, jogging, taking a walk, and see what happens…

2. You haven’t figured out your life’s purpose.
Yup! I always say “before you ask someone to go on a journey with you, you have to know where you’re going”. In this case, the journey is a relationship or marriage. You kinda have to know where it is you want to go in life before you take someone along. We are growing everyday so you won’t have it all figured out before you pursue a relationship, but at least you’ll know in which direction you’re headed and that will make it easier to decide who to go with on the journey.

3. You aren’t meeting NEW people.
Most people’s routines are so rigid and their social circles have stayed the same for years! They go to work, Church, home, and maybe one or two places and that’s it. No surprise you ain’t found someone all this time! You know they say “madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result” I’m not saying you’re mad, but maybe it’s time to change things up a little bit. How? You ask. Well, by changing up where you go and going out with a variety of friends. Have a diverse pool of friends and hang out with different groups. You’ll probably meet new people that way. Network. Follow up on business contacts. Tap into all your affiliations not just because you want a romantic relationship but also because you want richer friendships and a richer life.

4. The guys around you are straight up not ready!
Yup! ‘Cos girl, you KNOW you got it going on. You’re beautiful, hardworking, friendly, fun, etc. but the dudes around you are either SUPER blind, intimidated (in which case it’s okay), or they’re not your type. So, what do you do in this case? Hmmm, you could try the tips in #3 and see how that goes or honey, call on Jesus to order the right dude’s steps!

5. You’re being unrealistic.
Hmm, this is an interesting one. I believe everyone should have non-negotiables when it comes to relationships but I guess sometimes the expectations can be unrealistic. I always say that we put too much pressure on other human beings to be PERFECT. We really shouldn’t expect more from others than we are ourselves. My Pastor said something the other day that was very profound. He said a lot of women are looking for oak trees (ready-made, already established men) when they should be looking for acorns (men with potential). I know a lot of women especially after a certain age don’t want to be with “potential” but when he said that, I realized that there will be some kind of potential in the guy that only a woman can bring out. Haven’t you noticed that when your male friends get married, shortly after they get that “marriage glow”? I notice it all the time! It’s the woman! She’s bringing out the best in him. So, ladies, don’t be afraid of potential anymore. Just get with the kind of potential you are comfortable with.

Phew! So, what do y’all think? What other reasons do you think explain why women and men are STILL single?
pls tell them o

This is the trick:

1. Visit the websites of all reputable companies based in Nigeria (especially the ones that don't do graduate programs)
2. Go to 'our people' or 'management team' or our 'directors' and read all the profiles there
3. Look for anyone that attended the same school you attended

5. Start a cordial relationship with him/her
6. Finally, express your willingness to join his/her team or other teams in his/her company

I can assure you that if you are diligent enough with your search, you will get at least a test/an interview invite.

This is one of my numerous tricks that have worked wonders. If I decide to come to naija today, I should not have any problems getting interviews and tests. This trick works like hell or, well, it has consistently worked for me sha. You may want to try it out.

The trick is based on pure psychology: you will always want to help those who are in one way or the other connected to you. Why do you think most Harvard/Yale/MIT alumni hardly find jobs? Well, their people are well stationed in the best of the best corporations. You only need an email to get an interview, and if you are good at interviewing then you get hired. Easy!

ACCA vs ICAN

if u want to go global, acca is o.k,it is well recognised throughout the world except in the U.S,roughly at minimum,2 yrs is needed for the program and even an oxford brookes b.sc degree is awarded at the end of the programme(for real,i dont buy the idea of going for the prog cos of the degree, its not that 'integritized'-if the word exists). But the question is this,'why isnt it recognisd in the u.s and which prof program accounting related that is known in the U.S?

You can be ican qualified within a year(minimum time),and it is still the best in ninja, for a fresh grad, take the exams within a year with less intensive study and you're good to go along with your b.sc degree.

Weigh both and go for the better of the two,its personal.

How about Bsc holders from nigeria with no msc whatsoever in total? Maybe just short courses NYSc and some workshops and training. Before I saw this I was actually thinking of forgetting about msc for now and focus on getting experience, but now I'm really confused. I'm graduating this year,(BSc. Chemical Engineering) and I have an option to either serve or. Go for masters.

Somebody help please!
Hello, if there is cash, which i believe there is cos of the choices available(either nysc or masters), then go for your masters in one of the best schools abroad, make sure u come out excellently so that you will be employed immediately after the program through recruitment schemes employed by top companies to get the best brains

Or

Better still, finish your nysc, make sure you graduate with minimum of 2.1(your first degree-b.sc),acquire more of skills like interpersonal, communication,i.t skills and others through self development, and start submiting your C.V to these oil and gas companies(mind you, your C.V must be a standard one,and nt only total that is okay in ninja,we have chevron, shell, oando and other upstream and downstream indigenous and non-indigeneous companies in nigeria).
Ace though their tests and interviews and with a little bit of luck, YOU'RE IN.

NB: Work experience is necessary in NIGERIA,so it's better to work for some years before going for your masters.

My lil cents before our ogas come.

am talking about getting a M.sc immediately after nysc, can i get a job other than a grad entry one with only 1-year nysc experience after the masters programme? Is'nt it dangerous to thread that way?

What a failed state!

To be candid, people are saying its an empty threat, but believe me,they can cos we cant prevent them, and the reason why we cant is that he(jona) is dull and clueless.

Anyway, i just hope the threat is empty.

God help us.

I'll soon commence my service year(july or thereabouts), and i hope to be qualified(ICAN) by the end of the nysc program but constraint is, if i get posted to lagos it may affect it because reading will be tough and seriously i would like to be posted to lag,so am aware of the risk.

Through wit service, i'll go for my masters straightaway, m.sc econs or finance in either unilag or U.I will be okay for a b-tech accounting grad(my thoughts though), another constraint is that in ninja you need 2-3 years(at least) experience to land a good job. Where do i get that since am going for masters immediately after service?

Btw,i love investment banking a lot, and i hope my path will facilitate career in IB.

Sincerely,i want to take these risks because 'more risk is more return', but i want you guys to assess my case cos am scared and if one shud miss it now,it's quite dangerous.

Thanks.
