PoliticsRe: How Should Nigeria Heal From The War Scars Of Biafra? by nku5: 7:27pm On Apr 20, 2020
Nigeria's sins against Biafra is like a wound that you wrap untreated with a big expensive bandage and deny its existence. It has made the whole body sick and Nigeria is a rotten, smelling state. Poverty, crime and death. Nigeria is reaping the evil it has sowed

Until the wound is treated just forget Nigeria moving forward.

Oil is bad for the environment and an old school resource with a bloody history even though umu okolobia have largely stayed away from rent seeking and militancy seen in other oil producing areas.

The thing i am interested in is the liquified natural gas because it is going to be a cheap source of energy if this country can get its act together or SE can be free from this colonial experiment

Assuming things get heated up in the lake Chad basin and a hot disagreement ensured between idriss derby and general buhari led FG and Chad invaded Nigerian territories which led to a fight how do you think will win in this confrontation Chad or nigeria?
Chadian forces under Idris Deby would totally devour Nigerian forces under Buhari. Even the heavily equipped and battle tested Libyan army under Gaddafi was badly beaten by Chadian soldiers.

The Nigerian armed forces under a Babangida or Abacha would surely give a good account of themselves. But because Buhari is such an incompetent and weak commander in chief I can bet Nigeria would be disgraced in a confrontation today.

It's insulting to assume I do not know Philip Effiong.

We in this part cannot support Biafra because we fear we would suffer marginalisation from the Igbos. The story about the OSU's just gave more credence to that fear.

Call it bigotry if you choose and lack of information if you like.
Nobody ever asked for your support.

If you really know Effiong and the other non-Igbos who were pillars of the Biafran state and you are citing Osu caste system as an issue then you are simply bigoted and uninformed. I like how you have kept mute about the killing of twins in your place or the recent labelling of children as witches. It shows you are also hypocritical

Who is saying you did not say what you said? The fact is you spoke from a place of bigotry and lack of information.

If you cite Osu practice as a measure of what Igbo society is like in general why should you not look at the more horrific culture of killing twins in your place as a measure of your own society in general tongue

I ask again...do you know Philip Effiong, Okoko Ndem or Ignatius Kogbara? Did you hear them say anything about minorities in Biafra?

PDP and APC are the same to me. The same

You people should vote or form a new party. Change things. Don't wait for chop money.
Leave BMC talk. Is PDP responsible for the hundreds of Nigerian soldiers that Boko Haram has killed over the last few days. Chadian soldiers lost few soldiers and got revenge within 24 hours.

Their president led his soldiers to wipe out a major terrorist armoury and chased the surviving Boko Haram into Nigeria and Nigerian soldiers were clapping for them like school boys seeing their heroes for the first time grin

NDJAMENA, Chad — Chad’s president, Idriss Déby, speaks in a soft mumble, wears spectacles and an immaculate white robe, and is to be found in the quiet inner recesses of a gilt-edged, marble presidential palace — under crystal chandeliers and vaulted arches that seem part Renaissance, part Vegas — at the dusty center of his country’s capital.

Yet he is undeniably one of Africa’s most formidable strongmen. His men once whipped Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s fighters in a desert battle, and he has survived numerous rebel assaults and coup attempts. More recently, his forces have successfully battled the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram and Al Qaeda’s regional affiliate, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM, shoring up his credentials as the West’s favorite African autocrat.

Still, in discussing his military’s victory in the Boko Haram stronghold of Damasak, in Nigeria, Mr. Déby showed no hint of triumphalism. Instead, he was frustrated, impatient: His men were stuck, still awaiting any sign of Nigerian forces who could come take over. He does not want to be holding Nigerian territory, he said. He wants to be on the move.

“We want the Nigerians to come and occupy, so we can advance,” Mr. Déby complained in an interview at his palace last week. “We’re wasting time, for the benefit of Boko Haram,” he added. “We can’t go any further in Nigeria. We’re not an army of occupation.”

Another reason why I as a Cross Riverian cannot support anything like Biafra in the first place.

What the OSU's feared would have been like a child's play compared to what ethnic minorities like us would face.
You are talking as if the minorities dont also have ancient traditions like the killing of twins huh If you are bigoted be bold about it.

I'm sure you never heard of Philip Effiong, Okokon Ndem, Ignatius Kogbara?

PoliticsRe: Abagana Ambush: Biafra Biggest Victory In The Civil War by nku5: 6:56pm On Apr 05, 2020
OP- The Abagana ambush was significant but the one i rate as a bigger victory was the total massacre of 6000+ of Murtala's soldiers at Onitsha waterside.

After they finished their genocide at Asaba they crossed by boat (Achuzia blew the original Niger Bridge) into Onitsha to hopefully continue their raping and killing of Igbo civilians. They started looting and set fire to Onitsha Main Market. The Biafran army counter-attacked and wiped them out. Murtala whose babalawo had told him that he would take Onitsha kept on sending men across but none of them survived. He lost so many soldiers that he was forced to give up trying to take Onitsha directly and came through Igala territory in the north.

I rate this battle because all the men who committed the Asaba genocide were disgraced and killed at Onitsha like chickens. Murtala and Taiwo as we know were killed by Dimka and his boys in 1976

Tinubu wouldn't have qualified to be Awo or Zik's gate man.

Tinubu is not even qualified to be houseboy to Awo's boys like Jakande whose legacies we can see in Lagos even after forty years since he was governor of Lagos before Buhari overthrew the 2nd Republic and threw him in jail.

What is Tinubu's legacy besides from putting Lagos in his pocket and milking its resources dry or positioning his olodo, incompetent sycophants like Fashola the minister of darkness, Aregbesola the clown or Lai Mohammed the father of liars in positions that are too big for them
