ndidibabe: Nigerians and show off. You are probably trying to show off your brother's good result because there is no reasonable reason for you to think this result might not be good enough to be admitted to study pharmarcy. HIScraziness: The way Nigerians reason can be funny tho. We all know there are students with far better results, so there's no showing off here. It is not a matter of the way Nigerians reasons. It is a matter of the way you reason. I support what @ndidibabe said. Did you check the requirements for studying Pharmacy in any University before rushing to post your brother's result here?. There is what is called JAMB brochure where all universities have their requirements for every course. Anybody that has five(5) credits including English and Maths along with the relevant three(3) subjects combination can study the particular course. Your younger brother has Bs and Cs in Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and you are here asking if he can study Pharmacy with the result. When he was choosing science in secondary school, what did you guys have in mind that he was going to read?. Is it any of the art courses?. I want to believe that you also attended a higher institution. If you had asked if he can study Law, iam sure people will not say that you want to show off. |

Emyres: I was in a Secondary School this morning, and the experience I got there, is nothing to write about. They are taking Mathematics today but the atmosphere is as if nothing is happening.
The "I don't care" altitude exhibited by the students showed that our education system needs help.
Instead of revising their books, they were busy checking their phones for leaks and shouting "ogbaa le" (It has come out).
They will carry this same ideology into the university, graduate, serve, and begin to work. After we will be shouting corruption. That is why we have unproductive educated people.
I then begin to wonder, " Are these people not the future leaders of the nation?" Is it that they were not taught or they didn't study?
If things continue this way, [/i na one chance we dey!] No need to break your head. They are just deceiving themselves. When they graduate with doing blocking in the university and start attending job interviews, they will know how far and by then, it will be too late. There are certain courses and jobs that WAEC and university leaks and blocking will easily expose you when you are searching for jobs and doing interviews. |

vacanci: You guys should stop chatting this @alikote guy. All his analysis has put treasury bills at the back of priority. I wonder what he is doing on this thread if he has what is best for him. Imagine him comparing Etisalat default to that of FGN.
Everyone is a learner except him, yet he is on this thread to decimate the number of people doing what is going on well for them. Everything he does, he doesn't compete with people. He is the only business magnate so everything turns to gold. There is no risk in what he does, yet he sells up to 1,800 bags of cement during raining season. In patience Jonathan voice "na only you wake come".
He talks of land in Lekki 20 to 30 years ago. That is simply in relation to his present status. Who says that even 20 years ago, it was that easy to own property there. Na only Lekki dey for map. He doesn't even know that government policy alone has reclaim so many lands even in Abuja. I have a land bought for under 1 million naira 6 years ago. Development yet to catch up up to now. Even to sell at 800k, buyers no dey.
My immediate younger brother gave out 3 Keke napep to someone on high purchase. He invested 1.35M naira. 14 months gone, one story or the other. One of the Keke is now a write off.
But in the world of Alikote, once you invest in transport business, money rolls. No accidented vehicles among the fleets. No fatality on the part of the drivers. Insurance nko, for where. No routine maintenance sef. Just multiply daily income by 365 and you know what will be in your bank by the end of the year. This is because all the passengers queue at his own vehicles. What a perfect world.
Why didn't he buy land in Maitama and Asokoro in the 90s too. For the sake of this argument, he might say the has land in such places just to further give us that perfect picture.
In the name of God, I come against anyone that will derail me from my found love for TB and Bonds which has solved major challenges for me.
There is no one that has a perfect picture of the kinda profit he makes from cement business that will do treasury bills. Who no like bigger money.
Do you think the likes of otedola, dangote and adenuga do treasury bills? What they are into, pays them far more. So what is Alikote doing on this thread when all the perfect business he has pointed gives over 100% of principal when treasury bills gives far less. He is simply acting movies. He is the script writer and every other person is just a learner.
Alikote is living in utopian. simple. I wonder why he is selling such a low number of 1800 bags in a month when other people are selling 1800 trailers in a month. |

unless he just a student learning several investment instrument You need to ask people what buying keke marwa and giving it to somebody to drive has done to them. Estharfabian: first, Dentistry is a branch of medicine.
I'm Speaking On a federal government salary scale, Dentists earn way higher than Pharmacists. even During housemanship.
General dentists make, on average, around 120-180k/month; that's the same average as many primary care specialties in medicine. Dentists work for less hours and still get paid the same as their colleagues. main reason I switched from medicine to dental surgery.
I have Uncles that Are dentists. My Aunt is a maxilofacial Surgeon. she studied Dentistry. I Am also Studying the Course.
Nigeria as a whole has less Dentists, So work Opportunities are Numerous and Not Competitive, Hence It's a sort -after Profession. Are you studying it in Nigeria?. Are your Uncles and Aunt that studied Dentistry practicing in Nigeria?. No offense with the questions. Just keen to update my knowledge. |

mavverick: Fully second this. I wrote this before, but I went around with my tiler measuring everywhere and put this on Excel, Length / Breath / Unit cost per SQM. This is how I arrived at the total sqm/total cost and also the basis of payment.
Despite most moves, you may still get cheated a little but the goal is to keep it to bare minimum. Also you can validate pop/tiling, there should not be too much differences, also sometimes iregular shaped rooms for example living room, they measure in such a way that they add a lot to it, so what i did is that we measured it in 3 parts, hallway, living room and dining, then add it all up.
Interlocking size = ((Measure plot) - (Size of building + Size of fixed structures such as soakaway/security house /tank stand + chambers )) I believe the attached excel sheet from my project can guide somebody. |

InvertedHammer: / I don't understand why adults would want to be spoonfed. You have an area to be covered with tiles. Grab a tape, take measurements and convert. If the conversion seems tedious, go to google, put in the data and get the result.
Is this rocket science?
The guy that gave you the quotation is probably out for blood and you appear to be helpless in the situation. Why make simple things complicated?
Eg: length : 40ft. Width: 18ft. I put in 40feet x 18ft on google and it gave me 66.89 sq.meters. A carton of tiles tells how many sq.m or sq.ft it contains. Divide your total Area with the number of sq.m or sq.ft in a carton and bingo!
There you have it. \ Gbam. Nothing more to add. When i wanted to do POP for my build, i told the POP guy to go and measure and give me a quote. He went there and came back with 96 sq.meters. I just told my brother to chase him away with a cutlass because i had earlier measured the area by myself for tiles and put it on google and it gave me 76 sq.meters. The other POP guy that went there measured and came back with 74 sq.meters and he got the job and did a wonderful job. Technology and google has helped in most of these things. |

ihedioramma: Thank's . 27000 for 91 days at #13.50% ? But savings bond is #6000+ for 91 days? See this "interest will become N6,750." in unite4real analysis. Interest on NTB of N200,000 for 91 days at 13.5% is N6,750 and not N27,000. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by NL1960: 12:51pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
unite4real: Yes, quarterly means 90/91 days.
For example, if you buy Savings bond worth N200,000. 13.01% of N200,000 is N26,020.
Since you get your interest payments every quarter, you will have to divide N26,020 by 4 which gives you N6,505.
What this means is that you will be getting N6,505 every 3 months (quarterly) for the savings bond.
Since the bond is for 2 years, you will get such payments 8 times in the course or life span of the bond. This is because, you have 4 quarters in a year. so in 2 years, there are 8 quarters.
Total payment interest for the 2 years is N26,020 X 2 or N6,505 X 8 which gives you N52,040
Now,
If you bought the last Treasury bills with N200,000 at 13.5% for 91 day tenor
your interest will be N27,000 divide by 4 since you bought for a quarter of a year.
interest will become N6,750.
This is how the savings bond compares to the 91 day treasury bills Good analysis but your forgot to factor in or mention the fact that TB is discounted with interest paid upfront which means that for the N200,000 used as example, the actual amount taken from the person is N200,000 - N6,750 = N193,250 |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by NL1960: 12:03pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
unite4real: the 13.01% is for 2 years Savings Bond. Remember that the coupon payment is quarterly which is like 90/91 days. So the rate will behave like a 90 days treasury bills. As long as the 90 days TB is less than 14%, the savings bond whose payment is quarterly cannot exceed 14%. Is it the coupon payment that is quarterly or the interest payment?. |
