frank317: My problem with christians is with their refusal to accept they don't know instead, they continue to make foolish their God with useless answers.
How can u call satan (who is supposedly created by a perfect God who knows the past, present and future, who knows every intention, who is all loving and all powerful and blah blah) a father of sin? I've corrected the statement, ie posted a rebuttal. Satan is the father of lies, not of sin. Satan is sin. What even gave satan the odacity to challenge his all powerful creator? He must be very silly to try that knowing what his creator is capable of. How did satan succeed in convincing plenty other angels? Where did the idea to challenge God come from? Who gave him such mind?
How does a reasonable person believe such ferry tale? Inhuman beings do not have the power of choice or free will like regular humans. |

twosquare: there will be nothing like evil or sin, because we shall be like God.....like i told you about where sin came from, it is from satan. Like you said in one of your post that satan his the father of sin, so also God is the father of righteousness. Everything is just about entering fatherhood also....satan fathered lies, sin, wickedness. He wants to be a Father like God, so he created his own version. Sin is just another kind of lifestyle that differs from that which God has laid down....it is an inferior lifestyle created or which was births forth in an angel that is anti-God. Satan is the father of lies, not of sin. |

chuxyz: I have been pondering over this time after time but have got no answers. Even so called pastors will only meander around the question and end up coming out with no answer. Now the question is this: If satan tempted man to sin against God, and we term satan the father of sin, then who tempted satan to also sin or rebel against God? Another Satan? If your answer is NOBODY, that means when we all have been raptured and gone to heaven, wont that same NOBODY tempt man to rebel against God again? And we will all start from square-one again back on earth. Please i need insightful answers only. Thanks. Satan was not tempted, satan is sin. |

chuxyz: God created man on earth, saw no place to cast satan but on same earth(what about Jupita, Saturn and the rest? Or abyss sef) yet he placed the sins of father on us. I think God should try put himself in our shoes. He did. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Man Already Had The Knowledge Of Good & Evil Even Before He Ate The Fruit by nlPoster: 10:56am On Oct 08, 2019 |
In the book of Genesis 2:17 God told man
"but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."
And man understood what God meant.
This technically means that man already understood the concept of good and evil (Life and death) even when he had not tasted of the fruit of the tree.
So what was the essence of the punishment meted on Adam and Eve?
What was the essence of the tree in there? Was it to test their inconsistency when it's obvious they were going to fail? No. It was to give them power over the serpentine dominion. If they had not eaten that fruit, the serpent would have eventually won and exterminated them because it had the knowledge they lacked. There would be no human race. If a war had decimated a world of previously perfect beings to the extent mentioned in Genesis 1:2, what chance would Adam and eve who were flesh, have? |

And what was the essence of planting the tree of good and that of evil in the garden when they already had the knowledge in them? Creation was duality, the tree reflected that. Being in the middle of the garden, indicates it was necessary for the balance of nature, or natural balance. |

@op
Adam and Eve weren't cursed, creation was.
There was a direct curse on the serpent, not on Adam and eve. |

Breadmaker: This is the first time I am coming accross this type of question.
Well, @Op, goan read the bible creation story again and you will know better.
Easy life wasn't promised to animals before the fall of adam. the built in defense mechanisms of animals shows they were created to fend off attack. This suggests struggle and death.
Secondly, animals like lions and other carnivors must have fed on other animals to survive so eternal life wasn't promised to animals.
That should also tell you that the sin of adam lowered humans from being perfect human beings to being higher animals.
We were downgraded and that is why we exhibit some animal traits like, pains during childbirth, eating and killing of other humans and fight for territory.
Finally, Animals migrate to search for food because the ground was cursed.
This is what I Think Good one. |

As Africans/Nigerians, perhaps we do better with appeals to emotion rather than appeals to logic.
We rate spiritual contexts much higher than we do analytical ones.
Obviously, this is no news, I think it's ingrained. |
Politics › Nigerians And Aversion To Reason, I Noticed This by nlPoster(op): 11:05pm On Oct 06, 2019 |
Nigerians do not like "reasoning", they actually have a very noticeable dislike for it which is quite visible.
It's almost as if it's a kind of allergy to logical things, a pronounced fear of logic which is baffling to an observer. |
