Ritchiee:
Your ignorance stinks..

You are a weakling from the FULANI REPUBLIC of the century...so you as dumb as a dodo..

If not for the British colonial intervention, historians agree that the Fulanis would have be driven far back out of Illorin by a coalition of Yoruba forces, even more farther away off conquered Hausa territories. This notion is based upon the resulting outcome from The Battle of Oshogbo in 1830 where the invading Fulanis forces were crushed, defeated and driven back before the interference of the colonials. They've tried this over and over in other Kingdoms....
JUST A FEW PEOPLE..who are not yorubas per se.. WHO ARE GAINING POLITICALLY WOULD ALIGN THEMSELVES WITH THE FULANIS....
ignorance? Maybe you need to educate me. The problem with you is that you yorubas go emotional when people confront you with the truth. Can you convince one that ilorin natives are majority yoruba and yet have an emir after emir ruling in their supposed homeland? Is that sensible? . It is very hard to prove that ilorin has been a traditional yoruba settlement before 1830. It was established as a military outpost of oyo empire around the middle of the 15 century. Oyo is an established yoruba kingdom with traditional system of administration, culture, seperate dialect, and tradtional religion. They have indigenous pple occupying the land that cannot be driven away but conquered in event of war. That can't be said of ilorin. It was a virgin land under the control of oyo before the afonja incident. Pls answer these questions to prove its yorubaness.

who were the Obas of ilorin before 1830?

Like lagosians are called awori, ogun ijebu, What are the indigenous pple of ilorin called before 1830 ?

What was their dialect?

What is the name of their deity?

Ilorin is not yorubaland. Aside the name ilorin given to it when it was under oyo control, nothing else connect it to yoruba. Yorubas know this thats why they shy away from the topic. They will only tell u yorubas are majority. Even one poster above agree that most yorubas in ilorin migrated from oyo. Again does urhobo being majority in warri makes it urhoboland?

Ilorin case could be likened to opobo, a virgin land under ikot ekpene before jaja established a kindom there. When at a point ijaws decided to challenge the reign of jaja's decendant in court and instal an ijaw king. The court ruled that it was jaja who established opobo and that the kingdom is the estate of jaja and his decendants forever. If yorubas mean business in claiming ilorin is theirs i challenge them to contest the kingship system in court like ijaw did in opobo.

the problem we have in this country is that we can't differentiate from tribe and political region...political region can comprises of different tribe..is south south one tribe "no" we av itshekiri, ijaw and irobo etc, so north central is just a geo political zone not a tribe..they comprises is idoma, igala,Yoruba,Fulani etc...
The important thing for the writer to no is...your tribe is Yoruba and your goe political zone is north central.
be a north central doesn't make u Hausa or Fulani..there is deferent BTW tribe and region.. at least there is Yoruba speaking tribe in brazil ....
what identity ur tribe is culture way of life...
if u re from Yoruba speaking part in kwara definitely u re your.....let get things right stop racism, tribalism nd religion bigot
many in kwara are of mixed blood as fulani intermarried with yorubas, nupe and hausas found there. Many natives in ilorin though they may speak yoruba actually see themselves as fulani. The present governor sees himself as fulani, rear admiral muhameed lawal did so too. Saraki's father admitted being fulani and that his family came from mali. Bukola saraki is fulani too. Yoruba claim on the place is only historical. Any attempt to enforce the claim is like negroes trying to take north Africa from the Arabs. Thats the bitter truth.

Biafman:
Liar. Yorubas, propaganda and re-writing of history to suit themselves. We all know the history of Afonja's backstabing which is the hallmark of Yorubas and Alimi's invassion of Ilorin and Kwara as as a whole taking advantage of a mere invitation from Afonja the backstabber. No one should pay attention to this lies being peddled here by this Yoruba liar, google Afonja and Alimi and read the ehole truth and nothing but the truth about how Alimi and his fulani meascreants conquared Ilorin and the whole of Kwara. This lies must stop, and for your information Ilorin is and will forever remain a fulani land and the whole of kwara a northern territory.
let him keep decieving the uninformed. Afonja was captured and behead before Ilorin became a fulani emirate.

The best you could do is to ignore "YourNemesis" as he called himself.
.
Ilorin of old is divided into quarters i.e. Yorubas quarters, Hausa/Gobir quarters, Fulani quarters, Kanuri, Nupes and other tribes quarters.
.
If he indeed knows Ilorin as much, he wouldn't deny that very few family houses could be ascribed to Yorubas and I mean no disrespect, yet many more of Fulanis including the ruling family houses and few to the remaining tribes.
.
Because everyone speaks Yoruba, hence its easy to be fooled that the majority are of that ethnic stock, but like every other territories ruled/conquered by Fulanis, Fulfude isn't used as lingua fraca except for the likes of Adamawa, most often, language of the community or its environ is adopted and in this case, Yoruba, being the language of conquered territories south of Ilorin.
.Lastly, ethnic ownership of the town is rarely debated as the binding force of the different tribes in the town is far greater than ethnicity i.e. the Love of Islam.
Yes you would find Yorubas especially from SouthWest fighting for claims on historical ground with help from a few agitators from the town, most of whom are politically disadvantaged.
.
You did a great job and I love it.

PoliticsRe: Why Didn't Niger Delta/biafra Demand For Separation Under Gej's Era by Noneroone(m): 6:43pm On Aug 18, 2016
Abagworo:
@OP there was no genuine agitation for Biafra and there is still none. It's politics rooted in the inability of some people to hold on to power. Hopefully they will be exposed soon for all of us to know.
you're not exposing anything 'cos nothing is hidden. You need to learn one thing about igbo. An average Igbo is not a power freak. An average igboman is more of an economic being than a political one. He prefers a good environment where he can conduct business, earn cool cash, excel in other fields and live a comfortable life. Hausa/fulanis are the ones who to rule whether they can or no, whether he is successful or not, educated or not. He measures success in terms of power while Igbos do so in terms of wealth. It is therefore unfair to say Igbos are fighting for Biafra 'cos the cant rule nigeria 'cos if it was the north who hasnt ruled the country since 1960 the country would've exploded. Igbos are after Biafra b'cos the system in Nigeria doesnt favour capitalist and egalitarian lifestyle . There is so much bitterness, hatred, envy and fight against them. Therefore the hausa and yoruba can easily exploit our cool headed approch to power and implement this hatred at the government level, stopping us from achieving our full potentials. We must extricate ourselves from this system and live out to our full potentials if we must survive as a race that is why Biafra is inevitable.

They are haunting him because they know deep within them that their president acts like a dog
PoliticsTrader Arrested For Naming Pet Dog 'buhari" by Noneroone(op): 7:56am On Aug 17, 2016
Sango-ota—A 30-year-old trader has been arrested by the police in Ogun state for naming his pet dog 'Buhari.' The trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, of No 10, Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, was reportedly arrested last weekend, after one of his neighbours of Northern extraction complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari. Vanguard learned that the complainant reported the case at Sango Police Station, last Saturday, after which the trader was arrested and detained. However, it was gathered that efforts by the police to recover the dog, which they intended using as evidence failed following a clever move by the suspect. The trader, said to be trading in female wears at a popular market in Sango, allegedly directed his friends secretly to kill the dog and possibly eat the meat in order to avoid being implicated. It was gathered that consistent appeals by his friends and relations for the police to grant him bail failed as the complainant and his kinsmen reportedly threatened to kill the trader if he was released on bail. Trader denied bail The case, however, took a different dimension two days later when Chinakwe’s relatives went to Sango police station to further plead for his bail only to be informed that the case file and the suspect have been transferred to Ogun State Police Command headquarters at Eleweran. A relation to the suspect, who simply identified himself as Chiedozie, told Vanguard that his brother was being persecuted for no just cause and expressed fears that he may either be poisoned inside police cell or thrown into jail. Chiedozie said: “Chinakwe is a lover of dogs and he names them after things that tickle him. He bought this dog a year ago and named it Buhari. Unfortunately, some Northerners, who dominate the vicinity where he resides misconstrued his intention and connived to take him up. The complainant then claimed it was derogatory because his father answers Buhari.” Police sources, however, told Vanguard that the actions of the suspect “were very provocative.” The source said: “he not only named the dog Buhari but boldly wrote it on the body of both sides of the dog and was seen parading the neighbourhood dominated by Northerners with it.” As at press time, relations to the suspect were still making frantic efforts to effect his bail while his accusers are insisting that he must be prosecuted. Police confirms arrest When contacted around 8pm yesterday, the acting Police spokesman in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, ASP, said he was still trying to get the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Sango for details. Oyeyemi later called, stating that: “I have made enquiries. The man bought a dog and inscribed Buhari on both sides of its body. One Mallam lodged a complaint and when our men got there, we found out that it was true. You know such thing can cause serious breach of the peace and ethnic or religious unrest. We are charging him to court for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.” Continuing, he said: “He was arrested last Saturday and we are taking him to court later today (Tuesday) or tomorrow morning (today). You know an average Northerner will feel bad over such a thing. It can cause serious ethnic crisis or religious confrontation because when you are relegating such a name to a certain person, you are indirectly insulting him.” When asked about the whereabouts of the dog that will be used as evidence against the suspect, the police spokesman said: “The dog cannot follow anybody except the owner. We will use him as our evidence because he did not deny it.”

Your post doesn't make sense at all. Assuming south-west has a country of its own, does that mean Diamondback, First Bank, GTB and e.t.c will close down there operations in the south-west?
Does that mean Dangote will stop the ongoing refinery? And as well close down it industries in Lagos?
You mean Erisco Foods limited will shut it's operation after using millions of naira to establish it's Tomato processing factory?
You all those factories in Lagos will just close down? So you mean ship will no longer offload at the Lagos seaport but will rather offload at river Kaduna seaport and Imo river seaport?
Believe me you need a heavy slap that will send your brain to factory setting because I don't think you understand what you have just typed.
sorry you are the one whose write-up is absolutely senseless and even your brothers know. Lagos will recieve a huge blow if we revert to regionalism not to talk of the end of nigeria. Lets view it this way If nigeria ends. The suceeding countries will make their laws, develop economic infrastructure like seaports, airports and power supply, develop monetary policy and impose import taxes all in a bid to develop local economy. Biafra for instance will open portharcourt port and onitsha seaport. Open the airport in Enugu and ph and concession them. With that it will be cheaper for businessmen and industralists to establish their base in the new country. Right now lagos is booming b'cos the host country used the resources and political power to favour it at the detriment of other regions and cities, leaving only lagos port running and lagos airport busy, forcing pple in another region to go and invest in lagos. They dont care if it affect the overall development of the country so long as they attend their political objective. All those bank and factories u're mentioning will gradually close dont in event of seperation 'cos no bank sites headquarters in another country, unless u're gonna boast with the empty building. Pls dont pretend u dont know wats keeping lagos. Op said the truth.
