Some of you fla.th.eads really do have half-brains making it difficult for you to reason properly. Which ijebus are you talking about please?? The Awujale only emphasized that ijebus as well as other Yorubas were already domiciled at Ife long before the coming of Oduduwa, he NEVER DENIED being Yoruba the way Ikweres, ikas, and those igbos at ONELGA/Rivers are doing about their origins. I know misery loves company which explains why you and your ignorant ilk are so eager to manufacture phantom Yoruba-denying ijebus. You are pathetic, boy. Smh.
shut up! Lienus!

he said they are from sudan and have been in ile ife before oduduwa landed. He is not a subordinate of ooni. Stop twisting facts.

the map said Igbo Speaking or didn't it. a region is linguistically recognized by the Amount of people speaking a particular language, that according to the English. just as the majors were Hausa Fulani of the north, their case was simple because they had one central head which is the emir, same for the Yoruba. but in the case of the igbos though they were not binded by a central head but by linguistic and similar traditions.
yorubas had no one central head

Good job schooling that ignoramus. You forgot to add that unlike them, virtually all Yorubas identify ife as their original source.
is not true my friend ijebus dont. Yorubas were in disagreement more than igbos. By the way, it was hausas they gave them the name yoruba. This is undisputable. The name applied to only those within oyo area until yorubas themselves found it expedient to answer the name as a means of having common identity and having a place in the colonial Nigeria. They didnt even have a single name for their chiefs as we already know.

We have set forth at dawn; we have seen the worst of days, we have seen the best of days... No one can hold us back. No one can tell us how to live our lives. We are who we are and we are proud Deltans! One day our voices shall overlap until they become one strong echo of common consciousness that will guide us in our path. I have relatives that are from Asaba and environment too, and I visit Asaba often, you don't know more about Asaba than me.

Go service your bf and leave this thread alone. Now get lost.
leave those trolls. It is the op and his crew of petty tribalists that are changing handles and claiming Asaba. This is how far those bloody hypocrites can go. I dont want to go petty like them or this thread will be shut down!

That particular post you quoted measures in no way to what you and your brother have said today. You keep making enemies where there are none.

In my initial post, NOBODY in DELTA STATE has any problem. I am content with that alone. If non Deltans have issues with it, let them drown in the River Niger! cheesy grin

Just negodu shocked

For your info; I don't have any problem with Igbos except the few, such as you, who always feel everyone is Igbophobic and that Igbo must be defended at all costs! Flash news is that no one cares! You guys are just jobless. If you want to make any meaningful contribution to Igbo, build schools, train children, enter into politics and change lives. Don't come online and start spewing bunkum which further soils your image to the world. Ever wondered why: Yorubas hate you, Hausas hate you, Edos hate you, Ibibios hate you, Even Igboid groups like Ikwerre, Ika, Ukwuani, etc all hate you guys? Something must be wrong. Na only una de the country sef. Small thing now, you'll cry marginalisation yet you occupy everywhere in the country and dominate people's land...

Anyway, I don't want to toll your path so I'll stop there. I love Igbos, at least the ones who do not have delusions of grandeur, but when I meet people like you and that other bigot called Igboid online, I reevaluate my stand and wonder why you act the way you do. Thank God that my Delta people, Igbo or not, do not behave like you guys! You can keep your bigotry to yourselves and leave us be.

Okwaya!
finally you are out of your shell. grin grin grin

i just wanted to prove you are just like the others and i have done that successfully
The fact that mods keep pushing the bunkum someone like you writes to front page shows this forum is headed to a free fall

You didn't give any advice there bro. If you did, I would have known. You only ended up pointing fingers and accusing me of someone you and your lot do almost on a daily basis on Nairaland. How ironic!!
you and who?

nobody has time for such cos nobody competes with you.
even the meanest of nairaland igbo warlords have no time to meddle into the affairs of other ethnic groups with a view of causing division among them. this is because igbos dont feel threatened by whatever alignment within and between ethnic groups. but we all visit nairaland and know the most talked about ethnic group, we know the number of times shameless ethnic trolls open threads disputing existence of indigenous igbos communities in the SS. they dont do it for fun. To them the Igbos are everywhere and at the same time domineering. there is the need to constantly use the division tactics in order to dispel such fear. the fear is very much real. it is no joke, you also exhibit it very much like them. the only difference is that you try to sound mature. this is why you wrote a frontpage article, proclaimed uhrobo unity while emphasizing that Delta igbos dont see themselves as one. i could also remember having to engage you when in one of your threads you claimed ikwerre is disputed as an igbo subgroup, only to turn aroud and claim that urhobo, isoko and edo are of the same stock. if this isnt a gross display of insecurity, what then is? and you have the guts to call your critics haters. i dont blame you, if prof sagay could be as bigoted as he is, who are you to be prudent in your display of ethnicity.

Firstly, I am not an aspiring writer (whatever you mean by that).

Secondly, I don't give a rat's ass about Igbos or what any group calls themselves. I only stated my facts from my own point of view. I am not trying to appeal to anyone or any group. If anybody doesn't like it, they can gerrout for all I care.! As far as I am concerned, I stated reality and if you are in doubts, reread that segment of my post again.

Truth, whether you like it or not, cannot long be hidden and the truth here is simple: Delta "Igbos" don't like being called Igbos! This statement has not made any stance or cast any aspersions.

Finally, if you have nothing better to say than to sow ethnic discord, please visit the politics sections and troll on... Sir undecided!
truth hurts

"Delta Igbos don't see themselves as Igbos"; How is this an Igbophobic statement??

Did I lie against them? Or Did I say they hate Igbos?

Choi.! Nigerians sha.
dont even patrionize people with your sanctimonious exclamations. What value does the unsubstantiated and highly subjective statement that 'Delta Igbos dont see themselves as Igbos' add to the ethnic composition of Delta state?

Why didnt you make such explanations across board to cover groups that are even less homogenious than Anioma like Urhobo if u meant to be objective and not to mildly score some Igbophobic points?

Urhobo is highly fragmented, so are the rest, isoko has claimed seperate group, some isoko clans even claim Igbo origin. These are what people should learn too if you must talk about how the people see themselves and not solely the instigation of Igbo disunity propelled by the urge to dispel the fear of Igbo dominance.

If you are an aspiring writer i sincerely wish you good luck but do away with emotions 'cos Nigerian mentality is capable of ruining your career.

I guess you mean Okpe. If so, be rest assured that Okpe is Urhobo, no matter what you may have heard. Even Isoko is arguably Urhobo but they have asserted their difference which is cool. Isoko is a different language, just like Okpe, Uvwie and Erhowa. However, they are all culturally Urhobos because they have the same World View. But in other to let sleeping dogs lie, let's just say Isoko is different from Urhobo. This cannot be said for Okpe as they are officially, politically, culturally and geographically Urhobos, no arguments!
you are busy protecting your urhobo ethnic group and at the same time telling those who care to listen that many delta Igbos dont see themselves as Igbos. Even a foreigner would notice the ethnic sentiment which you couldnt hide.

Igbophobia will kill you guys
