What good is a gaming feature without a gaming chipset

I really don't like itel phones but to be fair, this is not their first 2GB phone. I remember the s13 plus had a 2Gb ram variant and also there's an itel with 3GB/32GB I don't remember the model but it was sold in India.

after like 5 months, that 5000mah battery will be behaving like 2000mah battery, if you allow android updates then it will drop in about 3 months

if there's one thing I will always defend about infinix is their batteries, I've never seen any such complaint. In fact their batteries are too strong compared to most other brands.

That would be an unnecessary diversion from their intended goal. This is an OS for feature phones and it should stay that way.

first of all I doubt if that's the official price for that X5 but that aside there's a lot that goes to pricing than just the processor, compare everything else and you'll see that the phantom is way ahead in every aspect. Though I think the phantom could have been a bit cheaper by at least 15k,the 35k you say is unreasonable in every possible way. I'd pick the phantom any day over the Nokia despite the weaker processor.

A30, no question. Especially for its beautiful display. The 720p on s4 is a very big turnoff for me.

It doesn't make sense to just increase storage capacity and call that a "pro". I'd want to see a better processor at least.

I never got any such issues when I updated mine. But that was months ago.

The lowest score on Gsmarena is 96K for the A30 and then 108K for the M30 and the A40 at 106K..

gsm arena used antutu v7 while the site I showed you used antutu v6. I guess that explains the varying results. But either way it doesn't change the fact that it's using a rather lucklaster GPU, so gaming can't get any better than a P23 phone. Unless you tell me that GPU performance on an exynos will somehow be better on a mediatek.

The Exynos 7904 is NOT a weaker Processor compared to the Helio P35..
The Exynos 7904 scored 108K,NOT 70K,on Antutu which is more than the Helio P35 EVER scored at 86K.

I guess it depends where you get your info from. The source I reference shows that these two Samsung devices using the processor only managed around 70k. It will also depend on the version of antutu being used.

Don't be fooled by the Samsung branding. This A40s is using a weaker processor. The exynoss 7904 processor being used here only has around 70k antutu score. It uses the same Mali G71 GPU on the helio P23 so don't expect it to be good for gaming or any heavy task. But being a super Amoled I expect it will have very good display and good cameras.

there's a very big price diff btwn A70 and note 5, and therefore even the difference in performance is great.

it will advertise its self among a very few people. The adverts made across local TV, radio and billboards reach a far wider audience than a word of mouth will ever do.

please somebody should talk about OPPO A5s, it is also a beast and the price is 69k, though I am using Samsung A30. When I look at android market in Nigeria today, with the latest devices from Samsung, Oppo, Nokia, and Xiaomi, Infinix and Tecno stand no chance of surviving this. oh, how sudden, the rise and fall of Infinix and Tecno, a brand that once dominated the African Markets. But that's what happens in Busines when you don't improve and strategise.

So in your mind Tecno and Infinix have already collapsed yet the reality is something entirely different. If the likes of xiaomi are to dominate the African market they need to come set up shop and do some real investment. Advertising, set up service centres and physical shops, get technical marketing employees and then, maybe then they can take over. Otherwise having better quality will never translate to having better sales and market share.

saying negative things about xiaomi is forbidden on nairaland. You say something negative and you're attacked from all corners. I've noticed that a lot of people here are doing serious business selling these phones and they'll protect their brand at all costs.

But know that a new Mediatek helio P35 may not be as powerful as a lets say a 2 year old helio P70...

P70 was actually released at the same time with p35 but I get what you're saying. Maybe for instance the P60 from 2017 is still more powerful than p35. In fact even the 3yr old X25, X27 are more powerful, its just unfortunate that mediatek canceled out the X series coz those were supposed to be the "flagship" chips.

but what exactly do people mean by "outdated" processor The p35 was released late last year and most phones using it were released in 2019. You can make an argument for it being a "weak" processor but it's definitely not outdated coz otherwise it wouldn't support latest features like 20:10 aspect ratio, Tripple cameras or face unlock.

maybe if you use cheap cards. It's advisable to use class 10 or better for the best experience.

The Asphalt was terrible ooooo... you should've lowered the graphics. But the rest was quite okay.

redmi 7 uses sd 632 which antutu score is around 102000-110000.
Mediatek helio p35 score is around 85000
sd 636 antutu score is around 112000-120000
Bottomline is helio p35 cant even compete with none of the Snapdragon chipset above except sd625.

Now compare the price of the phones that uses the sd chipset above
redmi 7 is 45k
redmi note 5 sd636 cost 52k
lenovo k5 pro sd 636 cost 50k
almighty redmi note 7 sd 660 flagship of the mid range cost 64k for 4gb/64gb

You make a good point here. But also don't forget that there's usually a lot more to a phone than just the CPU. Anyway I don't think Tecno is charging a lot, I think the pricing is a bit fair. Especially when you compare it to the last phantom 8, which was a total disaster. At least this year they managed to bring the price down while introducing a better Amoled screen, better design with minimal bezels and even latest tech like the in-screen fingerprint. That being said, for those of us that want CPU power, this just won't do for us, no matter how much RAM is added.

hahahahahahha, you are worthless. How could you buy a 720p phone and not know what the end result would be.

My main concern with this phone is the processor. I don't mind that it's a mediatek, but I feel that since it's their "flagship" device they should've gone with a much more powerful chip like the P60.
I also don't like that it doesn't seem to have a fast charging.

That aside I'll applaud them for having a well designed phone. I see that they really tried to keep the bezels at a minimum though the chin is still visible.
With Amoled screen I think the phone will have better display but in case of breakage, repair will be more costly.

I've used Tecno and infinix phones for so many years and one thing I appreciate is their durability. I know people usually complain but I haven't faced these issues so I have hope that this phone is of equally good build.
That being said however I do not plan on buying a helio p35 phone, I'd want my next phone to be a reasonable upgrade. Even the Redmi Note 7 won't do. I think I'll need a proper flagship chip with a midrange price. Like the K20, or the next poco phone.

Even here in Uganda, olx was switched to Jiji. I'm so sad. Having a hard time recovering my account.
