Family › Re: Court Marriage Without Paying Bride Price by northbird: 5:15pm On Nov 20, 2023
The point is " bride price is not needed," to get wedded at the court.
If you then determine to do the bride price thing at a later date or when it is convenient, your call.
But in the eyes of the law( state),you are wedded.

I'm from the southwest, the bride price thing and list is hinged solely on what you can afford , not some group of people telling you to go bring your life savings and borrow extra just to fulfill some drummed up cultural mumbo jumbo....

The court will asked, if you have satisfied the bride's parent (by paying bride prize) before proceeding the court marriage.
Lies.. you have never been to a court marriage before.

The complexity is relative. Do you know that if one was to write and highlight all the detours and turns just between costain roundabout straight to that jibowu bridge via ojuelegba it would take almost a full page here? grin Of course It won't seem complex to you then because you're already conversant with that axis/stretch of road wink

So you better screenshot what I put up there just in case tomorrow when you gather the lever to head towards that ojo axis you won't be second-guessing the route you'd take while racing back to your eldorado civilization grin
Liver kwa? Come there to do what?.There's nothing attractive in that axis..

The truth is festac,/badagry/ alakija axis is not user friendly to e-hailing. 2020 was the last time I stepped on Festac.
A lot of resident drivers might disagree. But, you can't argue with evidences..
I'm sure a lot of riders find it hard getting rides to such destinations.

Must you threaten me with plea bargaining so that you won't take me to Court. So that I can give you some percentage of the miserable amount you leveled against me.

I will rather pay my SANs and mess up EFCC in Court. Our judiciary is corrupt already, so d highest bidder wins.
Try and follow up on the case.. The issue is between two private parties.. Ibeto and the other man. One party ran to Efcc about being defrauded.. Efcc took Ibeto to court..
Grace was given for ADR.. but Ibeto ignored the arrangement. Hence, why he was charged to court.
This is not witch hunting,a civil case involving
alleged fraud between two parties.

All those things you mentioned are honestly true but they all need certification first and also experience... Having work in similar places. For amazon I have applied.
Even to work as a security you have to get certain certification and training that will cost you almost 1 million naira.. Google sia training and learn about more

Now am on two training to get certifications from the but this certifications is cost money.
There' s a job waiting for you. someone just asked you to mail him if you can work in a junkyard.. @ tillbury or so

My exact thought when I read it first!!
From MY EXPERIENCE as a partner; if you are PAYING REGULARLY and as at WHEN DUE; relationship is easy to maintained..Na money partner want, once you dey pay no wahala..
The truth is, your relationship with your partner don dey get k-leg before the issue of the engine came up...What he did was actually what he's been planning to do and the opportunity present itself, he grabbed it..I will do the same..
Three years ago, I collected a Corolla from my driver, I simply told him that I needed to use the car for an event for the weekend, he brought the car on a Saturday and I sold it on Monday!! Relationship end!!!
To be frank, why I am not absolving some partner, I honestly do not see any reason why a driver should not be ABLE TO PAY 35K per week, EASILY...I make average of 12-15k driving to island from mainland Monday to Friday and I still do my 8 to 5pm work..I can easily take a HP and I will COMPLETE IT without default, once the car is in good shape...Some of you just hate to pay what you owe...My former driver confided in someone that he doesn't know what his partner (ME) dey take money do, according to him, am working, my wife is working, I have a small family and I don't have bukata, unlike him with so many responsibility...Let us be responsible with our obligation..
I have a guy on our group that finished HP in18 months.. But it wasn't strictly via Bolt,/Uber.. He got a lot of offlines travelling..interstate..

There was a particular one he got to Abuja to and fro around 200k. When fuel was still 460 +.. and numerous offers like that.
The earnings from the offline travels made bulk majority of the repayment plan.

From my observation, the longer the
HP tenor, the less likely the chances of completing the payment.

All I hear is just a faint echo these days when they have programs.

That's how a normal society should function. You shouldn't use yours to disturb others.

I disagree with this.

Not when it is done right. I did one last year August and it's still running the length and breadth of PHC daily.
Very correct.. The problem is a lot of lagos mechanics are quacks, they don't know jack and give overpriced quotes.

In 2018,I ringed my Nissan then. In Abuja, the mech charged me 25k ( materials and workmanship inclusive,) infact an indigene , where i stay was protesting that the bill was outrageous, that he was going to take me to Dei Dei and i will pay 15k grin, i just told him he shouldn't bother because I felt 25k was quite fair

, my colleague in lagos at that time too wanted to do the same thing, and the mech in Lagos was asking for 100k. as at 2018.. too overpriced huh.

The guy in Jabi forest did a perfect job.. the car almost came back to its tokunbo state..
I miss those guys..

N.B. The car didn't knock. But the oil was going down almost every 4 days.. and it was not smoking too. I was told the piston rings needed to be replaced.

DON'T LOOK BACK.

It's a teething phase.. you moved to a new location. This should be expected. Don't be discouraged.. Stand up and face it.

No regrets, .. there's a lesson for you to learn in this situation.

I will suggest two things and you start immediately.

1. Look for a strong Nigerian community around your area.. don't know your religious inclination,
Your best bet is a church.. communities get info on jobs better than individuals. This is for jobs only.. groups get info disseminated better than individuals

2.. PRAY @ the same time for 7 days. on what you want SPECIFICALLY.
some might smirk at this my suggestion.especially those in developed climes..

You have a dependent most likely your husband or wife with you.
Project the image of yourself and your spouse being employed in the next few days.. see yourself in an office working.

From your explanation. You have not started a job yet . So there's time for this. 1AM-3AM . Both of you hold hands and pray specifically on that issue..
( NOt prayer of enemies or all that stuff, pray SPECIFICALLY on what you want to see in the next few days).
This is not a time to sleep overnight 9hrs daily. Prayer must not involve shouting or screaming....,you can pray in low tones but let your heart be connected ( don't pray and be thinking of the school fees, focus on the issue don't let your mind drift) and the Divine one will listen .. Engage your heart.

This is not religion bro, praying with your spouse opens new dimensions of Grace to you.

Be positive. Don't voice out anything contrary despite all glaring evidences.
Your Angels are watching and waiting on your declarations.

You will come back with good news.

So Bolt banned me for a WHOLE YEAR for refusing long pick up trips.

Customer support mocking me and telling me that it's all about radius, even if the radius is across a body of water.

The way we are exploited in Nigeria is crazy.

Look at one of the pics below, they actually wanted me to drive to Ikoyi from V.I, to pick someone and take them back to V.I, like wow.

That means profit on that trip will be like N200-N400, that's like 40 cents.

May God help us to find better work/gigs in Jesus name, amen!
Say no more.. that's Bolt for you. That activity score is nonsense..it needs to be scrapped. Competition is the only way Bolt will change. The regulatory bodies have been compromised.

He told you the absolute truth and you can easily verify that by making a little research. Lol, you think any dummy can establish business and run it profitably? You think any dummy can compete in saturated business environment and survive? Continue deceiving yourself!

Two or three Indian companies producing biscuits in Ibadan or Ogun state doesn't mean much. Have you asked yourself where most of the shoes, boxers, bags, clothings etc you use in the SW and across Nigeria are coming from? They're mostly made in Aba! Thousands of Igbo SME's in that city are mass producing them like the Chinese. But you want to brag with biscuits produced by Indians 🤡🤡
Any dummy can buy and sell. It's no biggie. Over 60 % of the food companies are located in Lagos. That should tell you something. Let's even assume they are Indians, why choose Ibadan or the southwest to site their factories.

Any foreign investor coming to Nigeria will choose Lagos and the South West as a preferred destination before going anywhere in Nigeria..
Lagos won't miss a thing honestly..

Did I mention "international community" in my comment?

Who is "international community"?

An Igbo trader come from Abia state (Aba specifically) and paid cash for a house in the US costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Is he not from "international community" too, since he invested into another country?

I said IGBO investors. Read it again. cool

And Igbo investors abroad (diaspora Igbo) are doing exactly the same.
Before, we use to invest in Lagos, but after GRV our eyes opened wella.
Today we are awake like fish. cool

this does not justify the reason why u should make 300% on investment in 4month.. it means if u invest 100m, u will be seeing 300m in 4 month. To you this is great and u are earning much, but to the general public it is not. Assuming it is 200% gain on investment in 4month, it is not good, but still feasible than ur 300%.

This does not apply to you alone but Generally all Nigerians will want to build Rome in a day and the government are no where to be found to regulate the prices
You are just talking.. do you know the rigours in farming?it doesn't work that way. 100m to earn 300m. Easy bro. I have seen new farmers lose millions of naira based on this your pattern of textbook predictive analytics..
Farming is a different ball game..

There are losses incurred in farming too. 22k for a 100kg bag of dried corn is very fair.
Farmers too live in the society , they send their children to school, pay medical bills and other sundry expenses,

Even ordinary Nnewi sef is getting more investments from Igbos than Lagos these days. lol

After what Yorubas did to GRV (their own brother o), only a very foolish Igbo would dump his money in Yoruba region.

If Yoruba could be so bitterly against a man with Yoruba genes like GRV, how can any sensible Igbo invest his money in Yorubaland?

These things are very simple.

This is just a simple common sense economic relocation.

After about 10 years from now, the entire economic landscape of Nigeria (if there is still Nigeria then) would be totally tilted towards the East.
Lies... stop dreaming.. any serious investor from the international community heads to Lagos and the southwest. I'm not talking of importing (buying &selling, any dummy can buy and sell).

The southwest is the most accommodating region in Nigeria for businessmen.
Most of the biscuits your folks eat in the east and Nigeria at large are made in Oyo and Ogun state.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird:
Real reason fuel is up is not the dollar fluctuations.
Price of crude oil/ barrel has really gone up in the international market. So,there's a windfall of revenue to FG.

FG wants the windfall in revenue but don't want the responsibilities attached to it.
Because if raw materials go up, ultimately, the derived products (in this case, petrol) will also be costly.
Notice too that AGO has gone up...

FG is reluctant to use the windfall from crude oil sales to balance up the cost of refined products..
That's the abc of petrol issue in Nigeria.
