Mechanic no suppose bring down your engine because of oil seal.

It’s a round rubber and all he need to do for easy repair is to remove the passenger tyre and passenger sand protector and belt that’s all. And the cost of original seal shouldn’t be 2-4K his workmanship depends maybe 3-5k max.

So please get your fact right know what you want to do first. You can check this morning if it’s oil seal or try another mechanic. Some Lagos mechanic can be rogues he need to pay school fees too.

There are 2 oil seals for a corrolla. There's one by the pulley, and there's a back one between the gear and the engine (flywheel).

He probably meant bringing down the gear. and not the engine. Anyways, it's a more tasking seal (back one) to replace.

No need to change car documents. Car documentation is National, the only diff is RWC. Which is issued by a state agency. If you are based in another state, N your RWC expires, collect d RWCs of that state.

If you r entering Lagos again, you know you gats to get another one.

@ glithronix, 5w30 is synthetic oil. Few partners use synthetic oil for servicing the car. So confirm from your partner if he has been using 5w30....

From what I gathered, it's best practice to stick with the oil you have been using previously ( even if it's not the manufacturer specificied 5w30 VS 20w50.)

On the engine oil cover for your 2005 Honda 5w30 might have been written on it from the factory and in its manual but today that same engine in your vehicle is supposed to be using 5w20.

What I’m implying is that all Honda Accord vehicle engines from 2003-2011 now use 5w20 engine oil spec.

But personally if you’ve been using your 5w30 then you have no reason to change.

Maybe for Honda. But for Toyota cars it's pretty straight forward. Use the oil type engraved on the gear dipstick. Regardless of year of manufacture.

For those of you using Toyota vehicles please be aware that the current factory recommended transmission fluid for your ride is no longer the ATF T-IV, it is now the ATF WS fluid.

ATF T-IV = conventional (dextron 3, ATF-Z1 etc spec)
ATF WS = synthetic (dextron 6, ATF-DW1 etc spec)

I don't understand, you mean ALL Toyota cars.
I thought the gear oil to be used is engraved on the gear dipstick. T-IV or WS as the case applies.

The new branded Toyota gear ( color change in container ) oil still comes in two different variety. T-IV and WS

AC light went off, traced it to a burnt fuse...fixed the fuse, AC light came back on. Compressor Clutch not engaging, few minutes later smoke coming from somewhere i can't trace.

Naso I go rock am overnight. Looks like a new compressor is calling ...any idea how much Corolla 03 AC Compressor is sold?
