This is the forum that needs it .. It will benefit others here and motivate others... He can share the link and people can learn from it ........

There is no need to go to travel section ... It will benefit people here pass the travel section........
Go and rest.

Baz doesn't need any prompt from you to share stuff.

Baz jappa is motivation already. That : "it is possible to find your way to a first world nation regardless of your background/ socio-economic class."
That is all that is needed on this forum.

Most uber drivers are graduates.

We don't want our fellow uber drivers to jappa from frying pan to fire , Abi na from fire to pan .. I dey confuse ....
Your contribution will be greatly needed.
Real growth (individual /corporate) is found only in the ambits of the unknown.
The first few months could be challenging, yeah, but it's always like that for any new thing in life.

Which fire is more than being a youth in Nigeria? . As long as the japa is legit and it's to a first world nation, it beats Uber driving in Lagos hands down.

like modern day slavery to me. All the tools relating to the job bar app are mine and you still want to force me

I like their destination trips anyways, always reasonable to and fro work but question marks about their modus operandi. Forced labour in 2022.
They sent me a ride package bonus of ₦5000, 5 trips, 5 hours 85% bla bla on Sunday. Today, they sent ₦4000. I'm like. This is serious, they want all drivers back.

Emphasis is on the payment and amount paid not otherwise.
Remain focused on the discussion.
The difference is that u r paying to own the car not renting in perpetuity.
You are the one drifting, you brought the loan angle, n I replied you that if I default on a loan. They can't withdraw the vehicle, if it's on HP, two weeks max without payment, issues already brewing BTW owner and driver.

Cos It's ur car, u have to repair and service it...the payment is towards complete ownership of the property.
If u took a loan to buy a used corolla for 1.5m, will u not repay d loan with interest and still fix ur car if and when an issue comes up?
At least the car won't be withdrawn, the week I can't meet up payment due to car repairs.. And it's a loan, I pay on my terms.

The challenges facing immigrants here are like beans, dodo & rice compare to what Uber drivers are facing in Lagos week in week out.
You are treated like a second class citizen driving Uber in Lagos, olosho will talk down on you, Estate gateman will belittle you, police & Lastma will leave agbero/nurtw buses to pin you and tow your vehicle to their office.
If You don’t have strong connection you will queue to buy fuel with your money, while some people don’t queue at all, they bring fuel to them.
To get good job you must know God or know man at the top. Even in hospital you will queue unless you know doctor/nurse.

I will rather be a second class citizen abroad, than in Nigeria. Black Americans born and brought up in U.S face the same thing.

If Tinubu becomes president then Agbero/tout will be first class citizens in Lagos.

Guys any which way you wan jappa, jappa.... in 3 months abroad your life will turn around for good.

I can go on and on ...but I will stop here for now grin
Baz001. Carry on. Lagos is truly a shit hole, until one leaves the shores of this country to developed climes , you wouldn't know what living a qualitative life means.

A friend of mine was already doing his PhD here in Nigeria, suddenly a scholarship surfaced to do MSc in the UK. He didn't consider it twice. He jumped ship straight.

Comrades greetings!

Someone offered me a Nigerian used 2010 Coro for 4m on hp for a 30 month tenure

Another offered me Nigerian used coro 2003 for 2.1m on hp for 18 month tenure.

Based on experience which is better? Number 1 above has a tokunbo engine just fixed all things working. Number 2 has good engine too but used though in good condition
4m bucks for a Nigerian used corrolla. That's not a good deal. That's over 130k monthly. What's now the difference BTW you n the guys on rentals.

Look for rental, then save up gradually.

HP is only good if it's graded Tokunbo.

Forget Bolt and do the needful.. Bolt that will prevent you from rating their riders, you won't get justice from Bolt , they will always be on the side of the rider. Though, you allowed the rider get to you. She made you flip n you fell for it.
You know what to do to avoid losing the car.

Sorry to bother y'all.

So let me brief you all a little bit about myself, I'm the first son of a family of five. Also a 300-level student, all my life I have been depressing and saddened by the kind of family I found myself in.

First of all, I must commend my dad for pulling me from secondary level to University.
The only thing I know my dad does for me is to pay my school fees and he leaves me with no other choice again.
Let me clear y'all a lot about him.

Second of all, he does nothing, he's one of the Niger Delta amnesty beneficiaries which occurred some years ago. Ever since then, he depend on all that money to train five children.
He's a stay-at-home dad, lol!
My dad left me with depression and hunger for me to deal with here in school.

Now, what got me annoyed to bring this issue here is, that I came back home for some weeks now to sustain myself because I have been going through a lot over there.
The little work that I use to do here in the village, was to get small money for myself and the girl that I brought home. This man has been relying on me all this while to be bringing money for feeding and any household stuff.

I have been here for two months now, working from Monday to Sunday and coming back late at night without any single savings on me.
I cry every night, laying curses on myself and that angel that made me become a first child.

I give this man every money, ranging from the one he will use and smoke, eat, soap, etc.
All he does is stay in the house from morning to night.

I'm tired!

School is depressing me, I have many courses that I am having issues with and no money to fix all these courses, and I have just a year to leave this school.
Home is also making me choose suicide as the only option left.

Whenever I tell him I don't have money, he blows up and starts threatening me about how he's going to withdraw from assisting me academically.

I'm tired!!
1.Show serious respect to your father. He still pays your school fees. You have 4 other siblings, so the money has to go round.

2.You lack focus. With all the issues on ground and your challenges with your coursework. You are broke and you had the effontery to house a lady.... You lack focus, you still go ahead to dissipate the golden fluid in you.
That explains why you are disoriented .Young man, stop wasting your shine.

3.You have an entitlement mentality. Change it. Nobody owes you Jack. Not even your father.

Oga mi, 07 corolla is what i’ve been using since 2019 and i can boldly tell you that the car rugged. 03-07 corolla na the same with little cosmetic differences here and there.

If you maintain the car well and on time you’d surprised how efficient the vehicle performs. I dey call my own corolla with muscle engine cheesy

08 on the other hand is bigger, good looking. My guy that drives it says the fuel consumption is just like normal corolla but not as rugged as the regular 03-07.
Thanks. Boss.

Pearl1910:
Tinubu is corrupt.
U can't turn governance to business and be collecting commission because you facilitated an appointment of an individual. Or because u where the first governor or because u brought an idea for development.
One man can't personalize a government institution just because he had d opportunity.

U aren't in government, u are not aware what's happening today in Lagos state.

Are you aware that the state teaching hospital has been codedly privatized?
The loan they used to construct Toll gate has been paid off and all monies collected now is entering private pockets instead of government cofers?
Are u aware that BRT isn't government owned even though they use government money to purchase the buses and construct d facilities and BRT lanes.
The collecting companies like alpha beta and the rest have an everlasting contract with the government.
And many many other examples like that.

Have u seen the expenditure of the state? How can one man be distributing d commonwealth among his family, cronies and pallies and we are hailing him.
It's unfortunate that most of us are educated but ignorant.

I feel he isn't the right person to be the president of Nigeria after a failed government which he is part of and cannot speak against.
He is outdated and too old to govern a vibrant and young country like Nigeria.
Did u hear his solution to insecurity? It's laughable.

That u enjoyed government benefits 20years ago doesn't mean u should still support him to be president in 2023. Nigeria's situation today has changed.

It for these reasons and more I feel Tinubu isn't the right man to govern this country.
I agree with you. Lagos is overrated. I mean what can one point out specifically that one benefits directly from LASG. Lagos has deep pockets, but sadly, infrastructure is grossly inadequate.
Foriegn cities (right here in Africa, not obodo oyinbo) with far less revenues have fantastic infrastructure in place.

Uber is stressful to work with.
