Religion / Re: As Christians, How Can We Overcome Sin? by NotComplaining: 10:22am On Jul 21, 2019
If you want to avoid sin then you must classify what constitutes sin according to religious texts. Sin is transgression against the Laws of the Most High and to avoid sin, one must go back to the religious texts for the guideline set out by the Lord.

It is not enough to simply ask pastors, the books are for everyone including your pastors. Pastors often omit certain texts to suit their agenda.

The worst of all sins is idol worship, associating a partner with the Most High. So before you address other sins, remove the most important from your list. All christians are guilty of ascribing partners to God.

You are allowed to dance for Jesus just as you are allowed to sing praises of his name. You can dance galala, skelewu, azonto, shaku shaku for all you care, Jesus loves all forms of praise and worship. What isn't allowed is any dance that is sexually suggestive such as twerking or grinding next to the opposite sex.

All dancing is sexual, depending on who is watching. If a busty woman does shaku shaku, it would surprise you

Rape shouldn't be and won't always be a part of our global society. It is a crime that needs to be heavily punished, an act that needs to stop totally. I maybe seeing my perspective from rose-coloured lenses but we can all agree it is a pervasive culture - it affects the individual and then the society at large.

I do agree on enforced rules on interaction between sexes but that idea seems a little rigid. Females are always taught to cover up and suppress their sexuality but what are the males taught? That's where one of the problems lies. The society gives too much power to males in narratives such as "men would always be men" to try to justify wrongdoings. We are not neanderthals or cave men driven only by our immediate urges. We've past that stage and I believe every human is capable of thinking rationally. Also, another thing which needs to be stopped totally is the victim-blaming mentality, this stigma surrounding victims that somehow it's their fault needs to stop. It's never the victim's fault.

I desire a society that is fully functional and healthy at all stratas. If we all can learn to respect one and other and especially the female sex, then I can say we are few steps away from achieving this.

Rose colored lenses, aptly captivates all the points youve made.

The problem of rape exists in our society, its been there since epocs gone by. You cant solve an old problem or address it with wishful thinking. The utopia you speak of perhaps only exists in Paradise. If all were ideal, prostitutes and slay queens wouldnt exist too, and If you ask me, a slay queen is more dangerous than all the rapists amassed in one place, far more.

A slay queen can turn the most pious of men into hardcore staunch rapists. She can undo long held integrity and reduce them to sex pests. The eyes lead directly to the heart, and if the heart is corrupt, the body will follow in lust. Every part of a woman can be used seductively - a weapon. Notice that I use plurals to describe the victims. ONE slay queen can a derail the pious dreams of millions of men. Study cases: Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson et al. Just how many have they converted to the life of a predator? Rapists arent born, theyre made.

You say we put too much emphasis on male needs, yes because we live on a planet dominated by masculinity and male ego. If you want to succeed in a mans world, you must live by certain principles. Men will always be the ultimate leaders of the world and will be the ones pulling the strings, somewhere. So you cant escape male influences.

Im only proferring means to reduce the problem, not attempt to erradicate it. One thing is certain, what we gain today might be lost through time and the problem will just reappear, posssibly even worst.

Some cultures even encourage rape, yes. Men and women of certain communities have agreed that men who wish to propose to their daughter should have had forced carnal knowledge of her and liked it so much he wants her as his wife. Truth can be stranger than fiction.

At least in our society, not including isolated villages in Nigeria, we know right from wrong and have the intellectual means to challenge the culture and the causes.

What about women wearing clothes that sweeps the ground yet still get raped. Would you consider that an anomaly? What about underage girls whose secondary sexual characteristics are yet to develop or developing that still get raped, is that also an anomaly? Lol. Clothing isn't the problem. Stop this women-blaming and stop with the archaic narrative men hunger for sex. So what if they do? Doesn't mean you should go about sticking your phallus into anything resembling a hole.

Rape is part of our global society and will always be. But our aim is to reduce it and not allow our families become victim of it through a moral dress code and enforced rules on interaction between the sexes.

Rape even occurs in Saudi, but its on a minutr negligible scale that it is hard to say our Islamic preventative measures are not working.

So where would you rather your vulnerable sisters be, in a society with little, or one with a rampant culture or rape?

Edo has the highest number of moslems in the South south maybe that is why the place is the headquarter of olosho. Back in OAU I still remember how innocent girls were rescued from Awo hall imam...a lame student oh. The said imam married, covered, and camped 12 girls inside less than 200 squared meter mosque cut ou of former cafeteria...without the knowledge of the parents oh. Yet fellow moslem worship there 5 times a day without saying a word. How many more million of girls have been cornered by imam all over that are kept unreported by moslem faithfuls? While Fatoyibo story was ongoing, multiple of cases that involved imams and alfas raping underge were reported. While Christians condemn there randy pastors for sleeping with young adults 18-25 year olds, moslems ignored their Imams and alfas raping 5-year olds yet some of you shamelessly put your mouth in christian matters. imagine, an average Moslem like their peadophilia prophet marry 12/13 year olds freely yet individuals like you are saying trash...even 5 year olds are no more save with moslem in Nigeria. And for the record every olosho runs girl have an alfa that help them with jass, and that is why Edo is notorious, meanwhile we read stories of how Northern moslem are being molested in Saudi, Oman, and Qatar. infact moslem men are also sodomized....I understand that all of these shameful acts are just step after the prophet..a rapist and peadophilia that only got lead by his loins. everything about the prophet have to do with sex, sex...76 virgins etc.

So 12 wives, huh...

You find one Edo olosho claiming to be Muslim, just one.

No excuse for a crime such as rape, people go to banks and see lots of bundles of cash why don't they hijack them because it's tempting and they have financial needs, how many times have you stolen food at an eatery because of hunger men visits beaches during summer abroad and see half clad women does it mean they don't have feelings We all see women in swimming wears at the pool how many have you jumped on because you have hunger for sex, if u are moved by every cleavage and shapes then you need psychological help.

Stop trying to see the world of men through your female eyes.

It confuses you that men can behave that way but thats they way it is for men. Men are electro magnetically attracted to young sensual women, whether or not the woman intends to be.

The mind of a man is warped, which is why you should never trust a man that wants a plutonic friendship with you, especially if youre hot. Its a patent lie.

Men dont value female friendship because we barely understand their moods. We value what they can do for us and that is the ecstasy through sex; before during and after.

A man might see a gorgeous woman is a swim wear and might not act out in public, but that bevaviour is not indicative of his mental state. Such sight might work up a frustration that will lead to masturbation in privacy or exploitation of someone vulnerable, if he isnt in a relationship of sorts.

Women find it difficult to accept that all heterosexual men are perverts, animals out on the prowl for the next meal. No amount of therapy can quell the thirst for sex in a man. Either his libido is there or its not.

Lemme ask you, if rape was legal, would you feel safe around your male friends?

So it is only the illegality of rape that holds most men in check, but not all men bow to such pressure. Some wont even flinch.

Is it not Ironic to you that the state with the most churches in Nigeria, Edo, is also the national capital for protstitution?

Prosititutes are abbreviations for damaged women. No one is born a prostitute, the church churns out millions every year like an assembly line.

It all starts with wooing of the parents to attend church, convincing them to allow their children to attend late services unsupervised, then pouncing on the isolated vulnerable child when the path is clear.

This can never happen among Muslims, never. True Muslims would kick against any attempt to allow their children to be alone with any strange man, despite his zeal and faith. Islam has laid out principles that dictate the interactions between men, women and child.

How many Hausa or Fulani prostitutes can you find in Lagos, in spite their homeland poverty? So dont use the poverty excuse. You pervs in disguise are exploiting these girls because you can and that is the ugly truth.

The truth speaks for itself. Haters gonna hate.

Killing the rapist only solves half the problem. The second half of the problem is the cause; enforcing morality and a modest dressing for both men and women.

The cleavage of any woman can ruin all attempts at stopping rape..

I remember an anti rape protest that happened in Ikeja a while ago where fully grown women were approaching male merchants in breast hugging tops, handing leaflets to them, gesticulating their anger, while inadvertently revealing the size and shape of their adornments.

Its just a pathetic, unguided way to solving a very serious societal problem. Dont approach men while your shape can be admired. Men huuuuunger for sexx daily and every man sees himself as a sort of lethario that any woman will fall for.

Truth is, if every raping pastor is brought to book, not a single church in Nigeria will stand, and I emphasise, 'not a single'.

Most of these pastors justify rape as their entitlement. The congregation owes them their lives for having been saved from hell. And since the church is under their name, the churchs admins must remain quiet or be forcibly removed, like in all private companies.

Being a pastor is the quickest and easiest way of living a grandoise life with all the trappings of wealth and not have to defend anything you do or make. The impunity afforded to Nigerian pastors is like no other, and like all such power held by man, it must be abused.

Pastors are usually the first to disvirgin prepubescent girls who later on become prostitutes, after feeling failled by the system of "god". These girls are molested literally under the nose of their ever zealous parents, whose fear of the church is more than that of God.

Its the rebellion of most of these girls that we see millions becoming runs girls. Theyve been abused young and scarred for life.

Just look at the likes difference. See how xtians band together and like antagonistic comments about Islam, even with Nairalands protective measures

The truth is that, the forced removal of head scarf shows how weak Muslims have become in the eyes of the masses in Oyo
