gallivant:Don't be ignorant. Learn other people's ways of life. There are so many poor people all over Egypt for instance, but they have a culture of contentment. I have never heard of anyone from my state or even my region of origin in Nigeria (with over 30 million people) who made this journey to Europe, but here in the south where I live, I have ! There are 100 million Northern Nigerians, why don't we make this journey? The difference is a culture of contentment. |
Nowenuse:Now I need someone to compare those pictures of extremely poor rural West Africans to these extremely poor rural Kenyans! Who is actually disgracing Black Africans?
|
Daejoyoung:Thank you very very much for this. Nigeria and other west African countries for instance never experience starvation except in cases of political instabilities. Most of the international stigma we Africans suffer comes from East & Central Africa. Starving children, wars, uncivilized buttt nakkedd forest dwelling tribes and what have you. These are the images sent to the outer world about Africa and East/Central Africans are mostly responsible for this. Kenya and Ethiopia have more arable land than Niger republic or Mali, yet you hardly hear of Malians or Nigeriens starving. East Africans starve for no just cause! Most West African immigrants are literates/ semi-literates who work hard in their country to acquire some good sum of money before thinking of making this journey to Europe. Latin Americans migrate to USA through dangerous routes at a higher rate than West Africans to Europe, yet Kenya nor any other East African country is better than any Latin American country in any major indicees of development. I watched a documentary about Senegal the other day on Aljazeera, I also watched one about Gambia few days ago. Yes, poverty could be seen all around as usual, but in spite of the poverty, this was the way most extremely poor rural Gambians and Senegalese looked like. Well dressed in poverty! Try Kenya and see half nakkeedd uncivilized starving tribes in Turkana, Samburu and masai regions. Cc NairobiWalker, TayserMahiri, gallivant, Kur17

TayserMahiri:Hmm, I'm impressed. For the first time, a little Indian is standing up to a real Indian. First time I ever liked your post. I hope your Indian paymaster in Nairobi doesn't ![]() |
TayserMahiri:Yet the slum population in Kenya is increasing. What an irony. North Africans just like Northern Nigerians have a cullture of contentment. The idea of migrating for greener pastures is not emphasized among them. |
NairobiWalker:I haven't even viewed this thread for many weeks now. Do you think we are all jobless like you guys? |
I never believed in these traditional medicines until an infant relative of mine was saved by them. She developed an ailment and was taken from hospital to hospital, drugs to drugs, doctor to doctor yet the situation completely worsened. Only for her to be treated by these yoruba herbal sellers in Lagos street, Benin city and the sickness disappeared instantly! Till today, she has been hale and hearty for many years now. |
ahiboilandgas:Were these people democratically elected? Why is english so hard for some abokiiis? |
LucemFerre:Fighting/Combat games have always been my favorite from childhood. I hated Car race and sport games. I could die for these games back then. Now I observed that I lost 95% of my interest for video games as I approached my early twenties. |
Ningi2020:Who is this one? I am from Plateau, I am not Birom but I support Jang. You are answering the name of a Bauchi town and I'm sure you are not from Plateau state, so what is your business with the tribe of Jang? You cannot even spell BASTARD properly. Abokiii ! |
fk001: fk001:Stop saying rubbish. Is Jang also the one responsible for religious crisis in Kaduna & Taraba? And other religious killings that have happened in the north? Jang has a lot of good records and carried out numerous projects while he was governor of Plateau state. Many plateau people only dislike him because he promoted tribalism and owed salaries. Otherwise he embarked on projects. |
Obi1kenobi:My point is simple. Do not juxtapose 2 almost entirely different situations just because they share the same English title in a bid to prove your point. Your analogy can be somewhat compared to the claim that killing an infant rat is the same with killing a baby as long as they are both infants and killing was equally involved. The Autonomy of Hong Kong and Tibet for example should never be juxtaposed just to prove a point cos they are in no way analogous except for the fact that they share the same english title. It reeks of desperation to prove a point and shallowness. Oh, and you come to my point. Hong Kong citizens only support Chinese unification as long as they retain the immense privileges of autonomy they enjoy which makes them almost a sovereign entity. China is very important to Hong Kong's economy and they need to milk the wealth of the richest Chinese who reside and run businesses in Hong Kong. The day the Chinese government look to upend the liberties of Hong Kong citizens is the day they sharply lose support. Even now, a plurality of Hong Kong youth below 25 favour complete independence from China. Can I ask you a question bro? Have you read the Sino-British joint declaration of Dec 19, 1984? If no, then please try to read it. I bet you haven't done that otherwise you won't continue exerting your energy over HK issues with China. Hong Kong can never be independent of China, it would be very unfeasible. Hong Kong is living on borrowed time. In less than 30 years from now (2047), China has the right to do whatever it pleases with Hong Kong according to the joint Sino-British agreement of 1984. I attached a screenshot of part of the agreement below for you to read. You thinking Hong Kong is milking out the Chinese rescources by a joint union shows how far you are from reality. You should know that the Chinese are smarter than that. The Chinese just continue fattening Hong Kong (the cow) for the day of slaughter ![]() And yes, China are obsessed with Taiwan. Hence the Chinese government throwing a tantrum because Trump even spoke the Taiwanese leader. Taiwan just want to be left in peace. China are the ones looking to impose their will on Taiwan, which Taiwan resists.Taiwan belongs to China. Is Taiwan an independent nation? Did they ever declare independence with a unique name? How can someone be obsessed over what he owns? You know, the fact that China refused to take over Taiwan by force till now proved to many 'China haters/slanderers' that China is really not that mean dominating boss that the West tries to depict them. Well, as long as Taiwan keeps on playing by the rules of China, they are safe. The capitalist loosers of Taiwan should face the reality that they have lost the battle forever. They are living on borrowed time too just like HK. The EU is an economic bloc. It's popularity is in its utility value to EU citizens who can get to freely trade and travel across borders. When you ask Europeans where they're from, they'd still tell you whether they are German, French, British, Italian, Spanish, Swiss, Danish, Greek etc. That is where their true pride lies: in their heritage. Nobody says, "I'm from the EU".Yes, they will tell you that the EU is just an economic bloc. Yeah right. They won't tell you that one huge benefit/motive of the EU to them is the desire to be able to balance the huge world influence of the likes of Russia, China and even the US. Europe strongly knows that without the EU, they would be like Sheep without a Shepherd before Russia (the wolf). Besides, check the definition of the EU again, it was created to be and function as a political union as well. It was never meant to be an Economic union alone as they have pure political agenda as well. So, you are wrong here. Of course no one would really expect Europeans to drop their national/ethnic identifications any time soon. These have been their identities for centuries/millenia. They conquered the world with these identities. They cannot drop it for an identity only few decades old. This however does not mean that they have no pride of the EU identity especially when it comes to world politics and how much it gives them a greater bargainning power as a major world power. FYI, the concepts of a united East African Federation or united Arab federation supercedes a mere economic bloc. They were meant to be full fledged political unions. Go and read about them again. The most ridiculous part is the one about Yugoslavs. Those guys hated each other with a passion: they'd happily have slaughtered themselves if bigger powers didn't intervene. Croats, Albanians, Bosnians and Montenegrin absolutely despise Serbs.I'm well aware of this. I never said that all former Yugoslavians love each other and are pro unity. Many of them are, many of them aren't. I can give you links of numerous pro unity former Yugoslavians of top personalities if you wish. There is no "self-deception" in saying people from small countries are happy to be who they are. Scandinavians have far more in common than many Nigerian tribes, but they are happy to be Swedes or Norwegians or Danes or Icelandic people. They don't care to be one big country to boost their egos. Swiss people are mostly ethnic Germans, but are more than happy to be little Switzerland. Belgium is made up of ethnic Dutch and French people, but they are happy to be Belgian. jInfact, the French part, Wallonia, have many citizens who wish to form their own republic separate from the Flemish people. Tiny countries like Leichtenstein, Faroe Islands and San Marino who have smaller populations than some universities in Nigeria don't care to join anyone. You find it difficult to understand that many people aren't driven by vain nationalism, but by patriotism. Nationalism and patriotism can seem synonymous, but they are entirely different concepts.Scandinavians of today would see no pressing reason to come together in a big political union when they split from each other just about a century. However, that does not mean that such a notion is completely non-existent. Are you aware of the Nordic council which was formed in 1952? If no, Please read about it completely. Here's the wiki link below if you like. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_Council Loool @ the emboldened. If the 13 states of the North East and North West of Nigeria were countries on its own, it'd be the poorest in the world. Bar none. I can think of a host of countries considered "3rd world" across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America that I would easily trade for if I was to be reincarnated into this world. Anyone suggesting otherwise is in deep denialDuring the old regional government, the Northern region of Nigeria was not regressive as it is today. It was progressive. The curse of oil is one of the main troubles of the north today, as core-northern elites see the current 'settings' of their people to be the best mode of continued access to National power. Goodluck to you if you think there are other 3rd world countries you can trade your Nigerian citizenship for. That's your problem not mine. I don't see the relevance of the last paragraph. No one is arguing about what we need to do to fix the country. This is about those who wouldn't even concede how deep the problems of the country are.Of course you won't see it, cos people like you rather prefer we slander Nigeria day and night without rendering any positive word of hope. But really, how do you guys feel, slandering Nigeria from when you wake up in the morning to when you go back to sleep and continue the next day? Had it been your likes usually proffer and work towards any solutions to the country's problems amidst your slandering charade, then it would be at least worth something. I'll feel like a coward and failure if all I can do is condemn Nigeria without actively working towards a solution to the betterment of the country. |
Obi1kenobi:Sorry. I mistook you for Omambala. A notorious Igbo supremacist here on this thread and nairaland at large. |
TayserMahiri:The Igbos (well, some part) have a culture that encourages people to make wealth before you think of getting married or having children. This culture of theirs I can't deny has made them somewhat richer on per capital than other Nigerians, but you can see the outcome here. Making money through any means necessary. In my part of Nigeria, such a person must have been married with a family. |
TayserMahiri:Can't you see how Obi1kenobi is now smart to you when he says what you want to hear? But when he said that the Igbos were the most progressive tribe in Africa the other time, you never thought of that right? Instead you were attacking him and hurling words at him. Why can't you grow up from these deceptive characters of yours? Sometimes you Kenyans think you are smart, I hope you know that your smartness is like foolishness before Nigerians? We can never be outsmarted by other Africans so easily. |
TayserMahiri:Seriously, I heard this great singer was arrested by Museveni. I loved his song KYARENGA. Why should he really be arrested? What crime did he really commit? I saw the news on Aljazeera and was surprised. Was he a vocal opposition activist? |
Obi1kenobi:You are correct, but your analogy is very weak. The kind of autonomy which Hong Kong boasts of is greatly different from that of your afore-mentioned. Hong Kong is practically independent of Mainland China except in name and military (which I'm not sure of). Mainland chinese citizens do not have the right to free entry and exit from HK without first going through strict immigration procedures. Chinese citizenship does not qualify anyone for permanent residence within HK. This is unlike Tibet where waves of migrations of Han chinese into Tibet have rendered native Tibetans a minority within their own so called 'Autonomous region'. The communist party of China is not allowed in HK politics. There is no single form of judiciary or legislative bond binding Mainland China and HK. They practically function as independent countries unlike the examples of Autonomous provinces within countries you mentioned above! No, my friend. There is absolute squat that Taiwanese "envy" about China. They certainly fear China's expansionist agenda, but they don't give a shiit about China. It's the reverse instead: China are obsessed with Taiwan when Taiwan has long moved on from historical events. This is why they fear the threat of China. Envying a country because of its geopolitical power is just a vanity trip driven by nationalism. Taiwanese have no reason to envy China because smaller nations aren't driven by nationalistic egos. It's the Chinas and Russias and Irans and Nigerias of the world who are obsessed with such vanities.Pro-Beijing political groups have 42/70 legislatve council seats and 327/458 district council seats in Hong Kong. That's an asss-whooping majority. Why would the people of HK favour pro-Beijing parties in a majority if they strongly want to dissociate from Mainland China? China is not obsessed with Taiwan in the sense that you put it. China just doesn't want Taiwan to be a puppet and 'parking lot' of the west, with which the west can easily penetrate or intimidate China. Do you know how much pride many Europeans take in the joint EU identity? Why do many South Koreans act positively hypertensive over a thought of unity with the North in spite of how seemingly backwards the north is to them? Why are East Africans working on a united East african federation? There have been conceptions of a united Arab republic, just that the Arabs of today have given up on that cos they know it would hardly work. Do not deceive yourself that people of smaller ethnicities or nationalities would not wish they were part of a bigger and more influential identity. They just wouldn't wish for a bigger identity with a union that opposes their core values, ways and fairness of existence. As bitter as the division of Yugoslavians was, there are still many pro-unity Serbs, Bosnians and Croats today On the premise that I was born, raised and lived here my whole life to see for myself the deep rot in every sector. Anyone who has done business in this country can attest to the bureaucratic maze he has to navigate in bribes and kickbacks. A few months ago, I reported a case of impersonation and fraud to the police, and despite parting with N50,000 just to even open the case at their Festac division office, there was no traction at all as the clowns told me I have to sponsor officers on a trip to Delta to nab the perpetrator that they identified after a petition to MTN who tracked the fraudster - which would have set me back another N200k. My brother and I could write an entire book on our experiences with deep malfeasance in the Nigerian police alone. Infact, because of his own experience with the police in a scam case that he is still pursuing today after 8 years and hundreds of thousands spent seeking justice, he advised me not to open my case at the police, but I ignored him and regretted it. This is just the police alone. This point of yours reeks of utter myopia. Anyone reading through this will see how clearly Obaaderemi has made his point here while you keep regurgitating your pointless opinion. No matter how wicked one's mother is to him, He can't conclude that she is the most wicked mother in the world cos there would always be a mother somewhere who has done something more wicked. Also, definition of wickedness could be objective. You haven't experienced life in all other countries of the world nor in Africa or even west Africa alone. So, you have no basis on claiming Nigeria is the most corrupt country in Africa or anywhere. The best we can do is rely on statistics and even those statistics do not cite Nigeria as the most corrupt country. Period. I know Nigeria is in a terrible state, but so are most African countries and even 3rd world countries at large. The other day, I was watching some news of Fillipino prisoners. Gosh! Dozens of prisoners were stuffed in a metal cage (this was not even a room) and they have been awaiting trial for months locked in there. Regularly, I see news, images and reports from other 3rd world countries (many who rank higher than Nigeria on income, human index and all manners of transparency reports), but these images send chills down my spines. I am from northern Nigeria and I can say I've witnessed the highest form of 'Nigerian poverty and sufferings' first hand, but many atimes, it's not as bad as what I see from other countries that are ranked ahead of Nigeria. I was formerly the type who thought many other African countries or 3rd world countries were far better than Nigeria. My opinion largely changed over the years as I have come to the conclusion that no 3rd world country (especially African country) is worth me considering far better than Nigeria especially to the extent I wish to trade my Nigerian citizenship for. I rather aspire to be among those who fix the terrible state of Nigeria and make it what I wish it becomes. Every progress you see in any country was brought about by the sweat and blood of the predecessors of the inhabitants of the country. I rather make Nigeria better for my offsprings or I die trying. |
daviesblaze:Kudos OP! Like many have said, you could have shared some before pics in order to inspire those of us who have a similar goal to be inspired. Ignore the negative posts and comments of all the haters around. Many use the excuse of financial hardwork to excuse their lazy assees. Who said one can't look very fit and sexy and still successful? Nice job OP. Please some questions for you. 1, How many months exactly have you been on this journey? 2, Do you take supplements? Whey protein? amino acids ? If yes, please which products? Thanks for your responses. |
Kudos, it's beautiful I wish all black women would learn to love and keep their natural hair |
Annael: justtoodark:I have said it over again. One African country I find with beautiful women with very fascinating personalities is Tanzania. Not just the women alone, Tanzanians in general seem to have very nice and likeable personalities. Kenyans do not deserve to be neighbours with Tanzanians. Kenyans are too brash, arrogant, fake, cunning and unfriendly compared to Tanzanians. Take a look at the 9 seasons of Big brother Africa that has been hosted over the years. Kenya has never won it for once! I don't even think they have ever made the top 5. They are always evicted and sent back to Kibera by other housemmates at the beginning of the show because of their obnoxious and uninteresting behaviours.Nigerians have won the show 3 times (the highest), followed by Tanzanians 2 times! Well, I actually consider Tanzanians to be 3 time winners cos the first Nigerian winner Kevin had to engage and get married to the very beautiful and loveable Tanzanian lady in the house and of course as husband and wife they both shared the money! So it was a win-win for Nigeria and Tanzania. Kenya as a country needs to be emptied and everyone in that country sent for psychological and behavioural evaluation and therapy. ![]() Do you guys have the same African origins with other Africans or are you guys descendants of some ancient pre-historic race? Nothing from Kenya fascinates or interests other Africans except perhaps Sauti sol ![]() Cc Jay254, TayserMahiri, gallivant, kenyanstar, rvp2018 |
Annael:Thank you for confirming what we have been saying from the beginning. I guess you have finally proven Nigerians right. Kenyans should better get serious and own their country for themselves before its too late.. Whites, Indians, Somali elites and the Kenyatta family own 90% of Kenya. This is such an embarrassment Cc TayserMahiri, gallivant, Jay254, rvp2018. |
Jay254:This is not true. Kenya is the country who has nothing to offer except Sauti sol. Tanzanian Vanessa Mdee is among the top 3 most succesful female artistes in Africa. Only Nigerian Tiwa Savage & Yemi Alade can match her. She is the only female artiste outside Nigeria that big artistes from Nigeria and South Africa want to feature in their songs. Infact I don't think any other African artistes have been featured in Nigerian songs like her! What about Alikiba? That guy displaced the mighty Nigerian and number 1 Africa's wizkid to win the best African artiste of the year in the MTV music awards (the biggest and best music award in Africa). No Kenyan alive can ever do that. When it comes to entertainment, Tanzania & Kenya should not be mentioned in the same sentence. The gap is really wide. |
Kenyanstar:Twerking was actually invented in EAST AFRICA ![]() African women who know what their assests were meant for ![]() Ghanaian women have the biggest booties in West Africa, while Yoruba women take the crown in Nigeria, yet they don't know how to use it. They need to go over to the East to be tutored. ![]() But really, which culture/tribe in particular did this dance step originate from? Cos it obviously did not come with the Arab influence in East Africa. Also, native swahili people are muslim faithfuls, do they enjoy this dance step in spite of their religious beliefs? |
Kazikazi:Thanks. Kenya seems closer to the Arab world than Tanzania in geography, hence I've always wondered why the Arabs settled more and influenced Tanzania more. I have noticed that Tanzanians seem to have a more mixed race look than Kenyans. This means that even the Arabs who settled up country were locally absorbed right? Do their descendants also identify as ethnic swahilis today? I also want to know about Zanzibar and the revolt against Arab rule. I've read about it, but I'd still like to get a summary from a Tanzanian native. Thanks Lastly, how is inter religious relationship in Tanzania? Do Christians and muslims freely intermarry each other in TZ without any difficulty? Cos in Nigeria for instance, we have 2 kinds of muslims, the Northern Hausa fulani muslims who are mostly extremist and do not freely interrelate with christians and the Southern/Central yoruba and other muslims who are mostly liberal and freely interrelate with christians.... What category do most Tanzanian muslims fall ?? Thanks. Annael, I would also love to hear your perspective to this. Thanks. |
9PBLIVE:What about Zain Asher? I take it you only watch CNN once a while. Zain has been far more popular on CNN than Isha these few years. |
4kDdullard:Cc TayserMahiri, gallivant, yobeezy, mtis, kikuyu1, kenyanstar. |
Kazikazi:Please what is this? Chang'aa brewing? |
nwoke37:Very soon it will be Kenyans vs Burundians, Somalians or South Sudanese. ![]() |
TayserMahiri:TashaMaria and other Kenyans badly dealt with by Nigerians, now Tanzanians. Very soon Somalians and South Sudanese will have their own share of badly dealing with you guys! ![]() |
Kazikazi:As a Nigerian, I must confess that Tanzania is just so better organized and more beautiful than Kenya. There are no BRT lanes in Nairobi. |
Just30:No, because they found Akan people to be easily displaceable and occupied so many lands over there, very close to the fertile lands of the Volta river ![]() Eastern West Africa (Nigeria/Benin axis) was too harsh for them cos the Oyo empire was too fierce, likewise the Dahomey kingdom. They found succour with weaklings westwards ![]() |
Kenyanstar:Beautiful. I knew Khadija Kopa in the song NASEMA NAWE, which she sang with Diamond. Yes! I guess modern Tanzanian music is heavily influenced by the Arabic/Indian cultural influence on swahili /Taraab culture. Khadija doesn't have a melodious voice. Perhaps cos she is older. Yes, I'm very familiar with the erotic twerking of Tanzanian women. I find it fascinating and have watched many of such videos! I know AT and have watched that video, but I don't know offside trick. Cool songs. What is the name of that twerking dance step? I heard the name, but I've forgotten it. Cc Kamikazi The dance step was performed by some Tanzanian women in the last Calabar Carnival in Nigeria. My family members were thrilled and others thought it was a display of immorality. However, I let them know that this was Tanzanian culture! We have cultural dances of twerking in Nigeria, just that they are not as erotic as that of Tannzania. So, if I may ask, what culture has that dance step in particular? The coastal swahilis? If yes, why isn't the dance step performed by Kenyan coastal swahilis? Thanks. |

I have never, ever made any kind of supremacist comments about Igbos here. Ever. If anything, it irritates me and I've called out many Igbos, especially fellow Anambrarians, who engage in that silly chest-beating nonsense. Abeg, never slander me like that again.

the thread don turn to Kenya vs Tanzania..lol
