Hello to the Benz team, Benz is really coursing confusion here, I need a sharp advice plz before I make the wrong decision.

I had an offer from a brother in Europe, actually he thought he was going to be coming back to 9ja but he couldn’t. And he already brought back a clean European Benz ml230 from Germany but I asked he said it was 2004 but not sure I read about the car info and was from 1997-2000 model available and ml230 was only made for European market.

Currently I own an Honda Accord 2007 V6 auto, and it works fine and good condition but when ever I drive the ml230 I felt some kind of comfort, sense of feels, solid body, space, despite its like an old 2000 model compare to the DC 2007 V6.

It’s high on ground and perfect for niger road but has a 4 cylinder and manual trans, tho am concern about the shift gear, but the manual trans made it even more unique. thinking of coming down from a accord 2007 V6 auto trans to a 2000 Benz ml230 manual 4cylinde. Downgrade or upgrade? Have seen lots of ml320 and have hard a lot of bad news and reviews online. but the ml230 really scars in 9ja, and no too many reviews about it, not even sold in USA or 9ja only on European sell website I can find it, but parts available in ladipor.

Please I will appreciate if I hear from the current owners of that same model ml230 problems and headache am an interstate driver can travel far. And also spend many time in the city. What baffles me is that fuel consumption with my V6 accord is same with all the comfort in the ml230 or even better. But Honda V6 faster ,Everything works on the ml230 and have used the Honda for almost 3 years without headaches and I think I need to sell out because I don’t like using Japanesee for so long.

Get my view, the ml230 has over 370 ,000km, and my Honda has just 150,000km run total. Still yet the ml230 still looks clean, solid and work good, and I think perfect for the high way, Honda moves like air in city drive have never traveled with it tho, but the ml230 feels confortable for a long drive,

Every Japanesee Kazeems I ask they just advice me to keep my Honda.

Please if you know this car too well advice me for this particular model not the ml320, it’s Ml230.

Can’t keep both cars one has to go.

Its a reliable car, the difference is this particular one is fitted with 4cylinder, slow acceleration, slow response.

if you want ground clearance with fuel economy you should find a CUV instead. But you know the history of this car and you will even get a good deal on it. if you are comfortable with what you see buy whether is downgrade or upgrade, your happiness is all that matters

If I had a 100 million naira, I will look for a low mileage GTR NISMO and buy. Every car enthusiasts knows nissan gtr, Toyota celica, mitsubishi lancer Evolution.

I keep telling you sports car is all about 0-60 and quarter mile every other thing is just secondary. The Ford GT was one of the cars with the beat top speed during its Era, the likes of dodge viper, Porsche carrera ran races round it.

it comes with its hose already and mouth for different valve application (ball, bicycle, vehicle etc). Its was a good unit but my neighbour spoilt it. He used it for more than 15 minutes at a go, it works now but doesn't pump tire.

problem: dash board not as black and shinning as before

Issue: Due to age and weather conditions the dash board has lost its finesse and radiance.

solution: complete change of dashboard to brandnew, best option in nigeria is to look for a good upholstery man/woman, guy/babe and let he/she rebuild the dashboard, covering it with fine leather. or

you can go the danfos way by buying one cloth like that abi nah wool and spread it on the dashboard grin

Pathy uni body, xterra body on frame. The pathfinder will have more road manners and handling, the xterra is a truck in SUV form no road manner.

Luxury the pathfinder is ahead, leather seats, roof DVD premium audio sound, steering audio buttons.

Fuel economy the V6 pathfinder is better than the V6 xterra, the 4cylinder xterra is good on gas but slow in acceleration and weak for all that weight.

Engine pathfinder 3.5L V6 VQ 240hp 4 speed timing chain vs xterra 3.3L V6 VG timing belt. Pathfinder needs no timing replacement better 0-60 time and quarter mile, very reponsive engine, xterra timing belt needs changing every 100k km, also an interference engine.

Pathfinder 16 inch alloy rim, roof rail, side steps optional park assist, xterra 15 inch roof rail, optional side step but better in modding to taste. If you intend to love-vendor your vehicle the xterra is the way to go.

01-02 infiniti/01-04 pathfinder vs 01-04 xterra

For the 05 pathfinder and xterra are same solid vehicles in different body shell. In that year the pathy had 3rd row seat and a V8 engine the xterra was exempted from this 2

False. The V35 G35 sedan ran from 2003-2006 with the DE. The V35 coupe ran till 2006, also with the DE. 2007 was a new generation, the V36. The 2007 and 2008 sedans were with the VQ35HR. New engine, new design. The 2008 coupe was the new generation coupe but it had the new VQ37VHR. Only the 2007/2008 G35 sedans and the 07/08 350z had the VQ35HR.

This guy is talking about buying the 2008 G37 Coupe, I believe, which is a design that began in 2007 with the sedan.

it was actually the sedan that came out 1st

Then in 2009 it was only VHR but 3.7L instead of 3.5

design was same engine was different. His 2008 sedan may or may not have a 3.7L but it may be a 3.5L

Its a solid axle truck and solid axles are very durable. Actually the tyres were used. But what im worried about is the wheel balancing i diddn't do. Also i looked back at the cracks. The crack might happens when ever i over load and i lifted 11people. I intend to get better tyres and balance the wheel

rear alignment of balancing is very rear except your car has an independent suspension or its a rear wheel drive.

But you can still do it though, it's not that expensive then buy quality tires and confirm. if you have alignment issue one tire would feel the effect more than the other, but yours is both sides.

11 people at an average of 70kg = 770kg, that's still within the limit of a truck except you were carrying 11 dead bodies also it's a 1 time thing not regular for a long time.

the crack could also be clearance issue, body touching tyre

Now this is bending too.

check your rims if they are bent. Then next is if your car is a RWD then check your suspension parts.

This happens only at the rear something is happening there, probably your chassis is bent hope the car wasn't in a recent collision

Nissan dualis which is called Qashqai Bro I did my rough calculations at the end of the day I will pay for clearing roughly 3 to 400k naira or more then I will pay for conversion and the parts it might cost 3 to 400 k or more I believe there must be some minor expenses too
But
With all these rough estimate which is about 2m
my heart will still be shaking if they can convert properly or not Actually to convert here is better but it will cost roughly 3500 dollars which is 1.sumtin million naira.
My brain is working like clock now I traveled to nija oct 2018 came back dec 1st. Hoping to flex with my car I sent home in 2016. I find out my younger bro sold it out I know what dat sun can really do to someone without a drive. And these small small yahoo boys sef no let me see road them they oppress anywhere I enter these people no let me drink water put cup for ground sef. Even the women na strong eye we take they push Dey go. I was lucky to have a loaded pocket doe.

If buying and shipping Nissan Fuga is 700k, clearing is 400k that's 1.1m, tokunbo is 3m+ here you and I are upto something.

Just buy the required LHD parts there and an extra exact brain box, yeah nissan strolls into code like it likes grin

pack am inside the car and weld the doors shut if possible, clear the car and you just made converting easier for yourself

Performance: G37 by far. Even the early G35 with the DE engine still outperforms the Type S TL. Talk less of the HR, talk less of the VQ37.

Reliability: Not sure about the G37, but I know the G35 with the HR is ridiculously reliable. Will get you to 250k miles even with abuse. The J32/35 will get you to 200k miles at least, though. The Infiniti automatic transmission is a lot more reliable than the Honda one. Honda updated the tranny in 2007 but it's still not as good as the Infiniti 5-speed.

Maintenence: G37 brake rotors are known for warping. Also, the door window motors may go out like every 50k miles. G37 and TL are about par.

Driving: Lol, both cars no be mate. The G37 is pretty much a sports cars (shares everything with a 370z), while the Acura is a family car with a good engine. RWD vs FWD too. G37 by far.

Looks: G37, hands down. It's an unfair comparison, really. TL began in 2003, while G37 design began in 2007. Bring the 2009 TL and it's a more reasonable debate.

Interior: G37 has better technology. Fit and finish are about equal. The TL's ELS and the G37's Bose are great. The G37's instrument cluster is a lot more sophisticated, though.

Again, both cars are from different generations. Compare the 2008 TL to the V35 G35. The G37 competes against the 2009+ TL with SH-AWD.

BTW, the only G37 made in 2008 is the coupe. Sedan was 2009.

My choice is the winner in each category the TL is a t ush up honda accord which most people already know. Honda is up top in reliability than Nissan. Besides the J35 engine is reliable and more common than the VQ37, I don't expect a G37 to sport a VQ35

It is durable, solid and good looking. The 3.5L engine is also capable but as it's still a Ford parts are on the high side.
Part is still the same as ford edge since they are both same thing, so ford technician technicians can fix it

Personal experience
I went to owerri 2 days ago to see some people.
I was doing 60mph when this lady in her fx35 passed by and mocked me.i dropped every other thing i was doing and faced the challenge
She was QUICKER but i was FASTER after 130kph.
Pushed up to 175kph and her fat shitbox cldnt dare else she would be scooped in bits.and guess what?
I was overtaken by a older c320 with v6 at 183kph.

I'm at the verge of paying for a Nigerian used 2008 Lexus GS350 with low mileage. I want to get expert opinion on this vehicle. Things as simple as availability of spare parts, any major or minor problems with this model would be highly appreciated.

The first thing is to ensure its not a flooded vehicle and not a lemon.

The other thing is the engine it's not the normal 2gr in camry and Avalon it's a tad more complicated and expensive I think it's 1m+ so ensure the engine is in top shape and was taken care of.

other parts are available in the market, also if it's really low mileage true true then parts should still be in good working condition

It can be converted and would cost much especially that infiniti, you can't even cut corners for that one cause it would be glaring no trick except done by the books.

both have the LHD variant just go to spare parts market and confirm price of needed parts then follow a qualifies technician to do it.

I never knew a RHD M35 exist only seen the G35 skyline with the 2.5L engine in RHD form

if the BMW you can afford would make you happy, do buy it, there is nothing more heart satisfying than waking up everyday and falling in love with your choice. you can also try a benz if you wish to taste something else.

I also heard VOLVO is the standard now it's the much talked about vehicle after peanut butter grin

you didn't state what year.

1998-2004 pathfinder is totally different from xterra

2005 upwards both were extremely identical engine and component wise.

pathfinder better than xterra.

if you want a car like jeep pathfinder

if you want a offroader something that climbs stones and rocks like no man's business xterra

Benz is costly to maintain dan any other car.

2. fallacy of generalisation. An S-class is far cheaper to maintain than a basic VW Phaeton with V6 engine not to talk of the W12 fitted phaeton. Benz is not costly to maintain.

Starting from servicing. Benz is serviced with mobile1 engine oil. 13 to 15k

3. Mobil 1 is not only recommended for benz, alot of cars use it besides mobil is a poor man's oil beside some oils.

Any slight part of benz is more expensive.

4. Baba you don buy Volvo part,VW part, Nissan part? don't be fooled original brandnew toyota part will send you back to the village not all this about to die tokunbo or chinco part wey no dey last.

But benz is rugged and strong on ground. Even enter 180km/hr u dey go....ive never seen where benz summersaulted. But ive seen almight toyota, Honda, bmw, golf etc.

5. Any car can do 180km/H comfortably if it's built for that purpose you can't compare death wish Nigerians using toyota corolla sport or camry SE like they driving Audi RS8, those cars were not built for such purpose so when you take them beyond their limit expect to see baba God soon.

if you were in North of naija you see more Peugeot, benz, VW somersault or completely crumbled. car types breaking down or accidented depends on location in the country where they are been used more.

Also, u wud enjoy the luxury in benz. I would recommend C230 (v4)..dont buy niger used.

6. Which luxury does the benz offer that a BMW (ultimate driving machine) won't offer? BMW (ultimate driving machine) been a better car than benz just has less followers in Nigeria. also it's I4 not V4

coming from a BMW (ultimate driving machine) I don't think a slowpoke 4cylinder benz would leave a positive impression.

You wud never regret.
