kayphyzee:You have a minute sense of humour. That year model Rav 4 has ECU defect which affects the transmission but it kills it not the issue you are facing, also the defect may have been fixed even before the first naija owner took delivery. You have a faulty gear, try to check if it will move to 4 when you release accelerator then press again and when you switch to N and then back to D. Jerk when engaged in reverse could be your bushing/seating has worn out check that before you conclude gear is gone. if gear is cheap buy another one and leave repairing alone |

Sam4352:The 4runner has two annoying defects 1. Brake issue 2. Leg pull yes leg pull like the Honda The Xterra is a solid off road vehicle but not easy on the gas especially if you have a heavy foot. Very bland interior wise has a turbo charged 4 cylinder and a V6, just buy the V6, the i4 turbo is very slow and under powered. Any one you choose would be great and do the job, but the 2001-2002 QX4 and the 2001-2004 pathfinder has a price range of both and a little better than both. You can check that out of you like it choose it over the two choice you have. |

Fuel consumption with all the children you will carry around within the city just budget between 15/17L per 100km Can it travel long distance, as long as there is a road to the place and the vehicle is not a lemon and it's well catered for by the school, it will go to Germany when the need arises. The bad side I can't say probably don't buy a diesel variant due to technician know how. The other thing is its mostly available as manual, rare coming across the automatic. Also the long chassis was designed specifically for cargo you may need to cut windows in body panel and fit in 4 seats to fit the design of a school bus. ALSO ensure you buy a 4wd which will have rear axle to support the extra weight and increase road handling. |

tellsblinks:I don't understand your meaning of "not comfortable" the VW has AC I have even seen schools use it as bus though the T5 is used more than LT35. Yes the kia pregio is scarce of course due to its availability in Asia, we don't import much used vehicle from there. The Mazda is not scarce but expensive starting at around 2.5m a good used one still cost an arm and a leg only the over used one is cheap at that it's hot cake for transporters for interstate in southwest. The L300 is good but it's ages since I saw 18 seater variant it's mostly short chassis I see all around. What of the Nissan Urvan is that one too out of your budget? You can also checkout all those hiace copycat from China, but like you said it's school bus, you need it in top shape the children won't be living in it for life so anything to get them from home to school on time is the highest priority as time goes on you can begin adding luxury option etc. |

Vbabs:I was also about to say the throttle body isn't clean to make up for the deficiency reason why the rpm is low on startup and goes up on warming. you need carburetor cleaner for that and a used tooth brush then open your air filter and change the filter or clean it if it's the cleanable type. This procedure requires removal of the throttle cable which the mechanic will need to reset after the work is done to avoid very high rpm. |

uboma:we all have our different views about life, during the time of our mothers and grandmothers many married at early age even before the 18 years you set. But this is 21st century the need for education and self sustainance has push marriage age forwards. Also alot of things has changed. back then in the university I still had girls who got pregnant at age 20, married at that age some even brought their children to lectures with a guardian accompanying them to assist with the baby. I Also don't support child marriage though but I am of the view that early marriage can bring about sanctity to the community even look at the children of this generation you will see that they develop faster than their age compared to our time. |
