timmb:3.5L V6 full sized luxury sedan. The vehicle is good engine and transmission wise. Maintenance is friendly rarely breakdown and parts available for moderate price. Fuel consumption should be around 12 to 15L per 100km combined with AC if the car is in optimum condition |
Jimraz4:You can either believe him or do your own inspection for oil leak which would be evident in engine bay area or if internal the exhaust would have black oil stain residue |
The engine uses timing chain and bad oil or irregular late oil change affects the chain which causes pletora of problems. The engine also experience oil shortage of not well maintained. Take a qualified techy to help you check things B4 u buy.
|
Tobichuks08:Yes a good car to own No car maintenance is cheap as parts have soared but you won't break a bank as long as you use right fluids and don't damage engine or transmission. 4 cylinder is good for it's class in fuel economy |
SMGGroup:From my research, the 2017 upwards was the pilot year with VCM issues that I know. It is reliable as long as you can fuel it |
SMGGroup:VCM can be disabled but I believe the touring edition should be the one with VCM engine. My boss uses it and the only reason he wants to buy another CUV is because of fuel consumption. Says the car dey consume I believe it's because he has check engine light issues ![]() |
Muddy18:Don't go and buy anyhow vehicle for farm because it is affordable even if nah truck or SUV. If your car ha broken down b4 for farm you go know how far, bearing spoilt, belt cut, car stuck in gully, exhaust pull due to rocky terrain and mechanic start billing you and telling you part no dey and you no fit leave car for inside bush ![]() If you intend carrying load a truck should suffice. The only cheap and reliable truck under 1m that will do the work is Ford Ranger international 03 to 12 model year shares part with the Mazda used for interstate B2000 and B2200 parts are cheap and they are very rugged. Their are other trucks but clean ones are expensive. Look for Nissan Pathfinder 95 to 2000 the part is same as the kingcab truck used for farm work in Southwest it is a die hard vehicle and cheap too, the 3.0L V6 can be rebuilt 100,000 times if something goes wrong. Stay away from Nissan Armada not a reliable Vehicle for farm work |
showietee:ATV is an all terrain vehicle not your regular car just focus on sedan. I am certain hatchback is allowed kia Rio 05 to 11 hatchback is used for Uber. The 1m mark is okay for the civic if all checks are put in place. Used car isn't trouble free but don't buy a money pit |
romityl:You are a very wi ked, selfish and self-centered human being, how will the mechanic celebrate the Salah holidays if you refuse to change cranshaft? |
showietee:Probably your budget can get wagon abi nah hatchback European Honda civic with manual transmission. Kia Rio or Hyundai accent 05-11 manual transmission Honda civic US 03 to 05 Your budget is slim because of naira devaluation |
Muyesky:From what I gathered online the CVT in this maxima is solid while Altima started from 2013 you are good to go if their is no rust visible underneath the vehicle. Fighting rust is like fighting your shadow atleast if rust is not evident in chassis then the vehicle is worth it. CVT can last 180k miles that's almost 300k km on the odometer that's around 20years from year of manufacture ![]() |
HeavenlyBang:That Nissan may be less than 2.5m as tokunbo even 2m sef, Honda and Toyota of those bracket years are expensive. |
Rubbiish:ES350 07 had transmission issues same with Camry 07 had transmission issues evident online from reviews yes some unit may be lucky to escape it |
barcaboi:Used catalyst is very expensive but Weld.a.straight pipe and contact Gazzuzz for catalyst defouler, buy, fix to remove error codes related to catalyst and O2 sensor |
Jamal64:From the news, it's tainted meaning factory tint would still be allowed but those tint done to cover all glass including windscreens are the ones IG is talking about |
igwedehxy:Only time would tell, enjoy your ride. A blocked exhaust is easy to know, when you notice that, visit your nearest panel beater to solve your issues ![]() |
nlreserve:Don't buy the diesel variant, parts and technical know how is not existent or minimal for fiat in naija |
iykecollins1:Thanks would get back to you when I check the PIN |
Advocatesam:The TL is no slouch even though the Accord is light years ahead. The TL is a solid vehicle especially if you are buying one with a 3.5L V6 rather than the 3.2L version. The type S TL had always been known to be reliable engine and transmission wise than the 3.2L version. If you can't get a TL with 3.5L then an accord would do but buy a 2.4L i4 rather than 2.0L i4. Accord parts are more expensive especially engine and transmission than the TL but TL body parts are very very very very expensive ![]() |
Dremca:Honda vehicles cannot be stolen whole or by just dulicating the key because it has sensor incorporated in each key. Only sophisticated criminals can steal it and believe me no sophisticated criminal would steal a.civic. Honda civic is fuel efficient with it's 1.8L engine and small size |
Samafroxy22:If both were brand-new I would pick Passat. But tokunbo or used Camry it is |
iykecollins1:How much would a 98 sienna gear box only cost? |
Dremca:Corolla is a robbers magnet because it has a good reliability index infact most Toyota and Lexus products have very good reliability index which translate to a good resale value. Honda civic has a good reliability index, average resale value but not a robbers magnet because Honda incorporate good security into their electrical system |
eeewise:Go to jiji on search button input Lexus ES330 there and pick all options with your budget bracket. Go with a mechanic to inspect the sample and pick one with minimal issues and rust free. Lexus ES300 and 330 look indentical but for a novice, ES300 radiator cap is by the engine side while the 330 has radiator cap attached to the radiator away from engine |
israel2563:You may have issues from a pulley or roller not necessarily the belt. Your compressor may also be on its way, that's how my sienna was squeaky noise until the compressor froze and belt snapped. That's the part number you are looking for, you can get an OEM replacement from Gazzuzz or madam rad
|
drmikeadams:I am not a car technician by profession. Not based in Lagos |
Chuksworld:The fibre would degrade and eventually block pathway of combustion gas in the engine. If very unlucky your engine would collapse as in collapse like Nigerian economy |
mojounited:Corolla good on mpg, parts available but robber and vandal magnet Avensis average on mpg, not robber or vandals magnet but expensive parts |
OfficialDJ:If I was stealing from company's coffers believe me I would have bought my self a 2020 Nissan GT-R NISMo not driving a dead beat Toyota and old school Honda. |
Samafroxy22:Nothing much you can do except to keep your eyes glued to the dashboard regularly for the oil warning light. Toyota is extremely lazy for not incorporating auto engine shutoff at low oil warning many especially sienna owners and highlander owners have been so unfortunate. You were only lucky it wasn't highway driving if not no be wetin we dey talk now, you for dey yarn story ![]() |
Samafroxy22:You are lucky, before opening engine at all, replace the hose with the metallic unit, put your oil, guage and start the engine. Listen to sounds and fumes from exhaust that will direct you on whether to open up engine and check for internal damage. Also scan vehicle I believe internal issues should trigger a DTC |
Kelvin30286063:When I was living on island and working at Ogudu I dey drive my car go work infact I leave home 8:30 and still get to Ogudu b4 9am resumption time because traffic no dey. I went to live with my sis at ikorodu I only drove my car a week the fuel I use in traffic and the stress wasn't worth it, nah to fly boat from ebute to island, I park my car at the boat terminal at ikorodu. If you go to Ebute at ikorodu you go see better vehicles parked there a great % of bank staff at marina living at ikorodu don't drive to island dey fly boat or enter BRT for those afraid of water. I didn't tell him not to buy a car, I said he should buy a low budget car and not wait to save up to 2m |
