Hello guys. I am currently in Benin republic. I came over here last year, around August. I am into teaching work here. Life here is easier than in Nigeria. Most Nigerians here are Igbo people doing business. BTW, I am Igbo myself.
Over here there is steady light, Steady water supply, the streets are well paved and with street light. Security is Good, You can literally walk around by any time of the night you choose without fear of being robbed or anything whatsoever. I am not in Cotonou or Porto Novo, i am in a city called Bohicon and I must mention that i got the work before i came over here.
Do u understand and speak french?

The mistake Nigeria made is simply the almagamation of north and south by that yeye Luaguard of a man... If not Niger Delta supposed be small London...Therefore, it's definitely insane to compare a population of 5million to 250million... Overall, Benin republic is doing well!!!
if your lame yardstick is truly correct then Nigeria should be far better than China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, USA and some other countries whose population are way bigger than Nigeria and who are doing far better than Nigeria in just about everything. Come off that your nonsense excuses and face the fact. Nigeria is a useless country governed by pigs and maggots, period.

Politics / Re: People In Rivers, What’s The State Of Affairs With Wike And Tinubu Romance? by nwadikeokey11: 3:43pm On Feb 23, 2023
Penguin2:
It is now beyond rumour that the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has adopted the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, as his preferred candidate and has directed his foot soldiers to get to work to market and deliver him in Rivers State.

But prior to that choice, the pervading political temperature favoured Peter Obi.

But we all know how influential sitting governors can be sometimes, add that to the 200,000 aides he employed late 2022, and add the tribalistic dimension he is alleged to have introduced in marketing Tinubu, we all can agree that there will definitely be some impact.

So, indigenes and residents of Rivers, what is the pervading political atmosphere as of today in Rivers State?

Are people in Rivers State supporting Obi like it was before?

Or are they loyal enough to Wike to the extent that they are now switching their support to Tinubu?

Please Tinubu Resident Supporters on Nairaland should stay away from this post let’s hear from genuine Rivers people.

Thank you!

Nwaetche
Only Wikes Ikwerre people will vote against Obi even without their wicked abi wike telling them to do so, that's what I'm sure of. But I know very well that Obi will still win Rivers State convincingly because many people don't want to hear the name. APC or Tinubu in Rivers State.

so in all this negative sides, plus business which do you think is better between Rwanda and Gambia cos am considering one of this country to relocate n start a business.
My brother I have only bin to and lived in Rwanda, Kigali precisely, so I can only speak or talk about that country. Beside, I have some one who is currently schooling there and the only thing keeping him there right now is money. He would leave the country the moment he lays hand on money. I can not advise any one to relocate to Rwanda because not only that there's no money there, things, cost of living is just over high. And I don't think u could make money in business there cos the place is too small and whatever business u are gonna embark on there are one thousand and one people doing the business. So wat are u gonna do if even the sellers almost outnumbered the buyers? So I won't advise you or any one to move there, beside, most Nigerians currently there are looking for a way to move out. For Gambia, well I wouldn't know cos I have never bin there before, but is a west African country, u don't need a visa to move there. So u decide whichever of them or other country u want to move to. Good luck

That is partly true as I know Nigerians who also travel in and out of Rwanda , but if you are search of a job , it might take you forever to get that here, I have lived here two years now and I have worked remotely ,

Recently God used me to get a small job for a Nigerian woman who knows how to cook, we met at the bus station and we started talking , I saw the job online on one of the groups I run on Facebook for jobs in Kigali

I linked her to the job and luckily she got it

But jobs are hard to get here

U can enjoy Kigali because according to u, u work remotely and giving to the fact that they have relatively a steady power and more secured environment, it can be pretty good for u but apart from that every other thing over there seems to be on the negative side. And not only that there's no job for Rwandan citizens let alone jobs for foreigners. So not only job but also business. Businesses are not also doing well in Kigali and Rwanda.

Nicely spoken , I currently stay in Rwanda up to 2 years now, long and short everyone should be careful of our very own people -our fellow Nigerians here are just something else , but if you find good Nigerians as friends here, then you’ll be fine , that’s all I’ll say
But I heard that nothing is happening in Rwanda, their economy is terrible and most Nigerians there are either looking for a way to move to a better country or stranded and have no money to leave the country. This info is from a student who is currently schooling there and looking for money to leave the country.

uyo more modern residential building now pass oweri
Stop talking nonsense here this man, it will take Uyo hundred years to meet up with the type of estates and residential buildings in Owerri. Send me a link to the best housing estate in Uyo and I will send u the third most beautiful estate in Owerri, then let people judge between Uyo and Owerri the one with the most beautiful residential buildings and estates in the both states. Where have you been to? Have u left Uyo since u were born? Have u bin to Owerri before? I have bin to the best part of the both states, and I have a friend who currently lives in Uyo and he was the first to tell me that Uyo don't come close to Owerri in development. And I also concurs with him. Uyo starts and ends in a place called plaza and after that nothing else is in Uyo. But there are several well developed areas in Owerri. I will give Uyo the credit of far better road network, apart from that Uyo don't come close to Owerri. U are uploading few hotels and recreational centers, If I'm to upload only hotels in Owerri pics will u see road here? Ask people who knows Owerri well, apart from Lagos and Abuja no other state in the entire country have half of hotels that are in Owerri. And as for residential estates and buildings, Uyo no see Owerri shadow at all, and to argue this is to believe that ur people builds houses and develop places more than the Igbos, which u know is impossible.

Flight fee I guess ? Well I wouldn't know for now, prices of flight fluctuate due to rise of dollar against naira. You may need to check it out with those airline companies or online booking companies.

Can the visa be converted to a resident permit
You don't convert visa to resident permit, u establish business or company then go for resident permit and they will give u after inspecting ur shop or place of business.

Hello, can i legally relocate to Rwanda using a visit visa. For someone who wants to start a business. What are the chances that it will be approved
You get 30days visit visa at the point of entry for $30. That was the amount paid for visit visa then, though I wouldn't know about now. Business is also good there depending on the type of business you want to do.

Hi Kmoney86,

Thanks for responding.

If BVN is not required to renew a Nigerian passport; and only the NIN, why would the enrolment centre be asking her for an updated BVN?

In terms of getting her maiden name on her BVN updated to her married name, whilst in the UK, I don’t see how this is going to be possible without her physically going to Nigeria on an expired passport, unless there is another way?
She don't need BVN to get a Nigerian passport but she definitely need BVN number to get a Nigerian NIN.

In Canada? No wonder, and you are advising some one applying from Nigeria not to seek help when you know very well that applying and getting a visa from Nigeria is more difficult than doing so from outside Nigeria. Someone who has never applied for or filled visa form before? As much as I don't subscribe to applying for a visa through an agent, because most of them are even the reason most people are denied visa, but it is advisable for a first time applicant to seek some guidance from those who have gone through the process and had got a better experience of visa form fillings. You can mess up your chances of getting visa if you don't know how to fill that form. In fact your chances of getting a visa of any country starts, succeed or fail through form fillings, you should know better.

Thank you for your response, I don’t have 6months to 1 year. I only have a month to re apply. I want to apply in January but instead of a visit visa , I am working on my networking to get an employment ( employment letter & company invite) so I can apply for a business visa . I am also thinking of buying a landed property in my company’s name as well as buying a personal landed property to boost my home ties . Meanwhile I will submit my personal bank statement with not less than 3M as ledger balance . I honestly hope this should be good enough to get the visa
My friend pls don't waste your time and money reapplying so soon because it won't go. It will signal desperation and that would amount to outright denial and may elongate your chances of securing Schengen visa in the nearest future. At my first Schengen visa application I had over 10mil in my personal bank account and more than 20mil in one of my company's bank account I presented. I had a serving Ambassador of a country whose embassy is in Abuja in my entourage, including my PA and my company secretary. I had a business IV from a reputable sea food company in Norway and the trip was exclusively on a business bilateral purpose. I was married with 5 kids. Had both landed and housing properties both in Lagos and in Owerri. Was above 40years of age. Their Embassy in Abuja was aware of the trip because it was a multiple million dollar business deal. I had traveled to several other countries before but not countries within Schengen area. I presented my tax clearance and every single documents requested by them. Every thing was going on fine and there was no reason I should have been denied but yet I was denied, you know why? Simply because I had not visited any Schengen country before and my company account statement I presented didn't have an expected amount for a person going for such a business deal. The money they expected in that business account should be at least 100mil but I sent in account statement of around 20mil as a company account. That was so little for a person going to sign a business deal that Worth over 2mil dollar at that time. So you see, they were not too convinced hence my denial. So take the advice of the guy you responded to. Take your time and build both your personal and company account or you will just be wasting your time and money because they won't give you their visa. Don't damage your future chances of getting visa due to over hurry.

With the type of documents you presented no embassy will grant you visa even if your sponsor is a millionaire over there. 1) You can't claim to be the owner of your business/company and not provide the prove of that, ie, CAC. 2.) You can't claim to be self employed and not provide a valid business/company and personal bank account statement to validate your claim and expect them to grant you visa. 3) Which tax cert did you present to them as a prove that you are a tax payer in Nigeria? That's impossible. You must prove a very strong ties to your home country which will convince them that you are coming back to Nigeria after a brief visit to Schengen areas. In fact the IV you got from your sponsor only succeeded in proving to them that you will never come back to Nigeria since that's all you have got to offer, it then means you are not what you claimed to be because a business owner can not depend on others to sponsor his trip abroad. . Even people with more valid documents get denied visa any how let alone you without any good valuable doc. First time I applied for Schengen visa under Norway embassy in Ghana I was denied even with an IV from a company in Norway to my company in Nigeria,. and also I was to travel with an ambassador of a country, with all doc provided yet they still denied me visa. Even their ambassador to Nigeria was aware of the business deal between my company and the company in Norway that was inviting me, but there was nothing the ambassador here could do since the embassy of Norway that issues visas is the one in Ghana and not the one in Nigeria. So I was denied, not withstanding the presence of an ambassador friend on the IV. So with your kind of doc just forget it, no embassy will give you visa on that doc.

Who says NO Nigeria resides in South Sudan? Personal I have a friend whose brother who could not feed his family when he was living in Nigeria, but who migrated to South Sudan some years ago is now a multimillionaire. He has taken many of his brothers and in-laws over there and they are doing very well. This man single handedly built a multi million naira church in his village. Give all his brothers and in-laws he took over there $10k each to start up a business. He's into Auto parts business. My take is, any where you are and God chooses to remember you, you will excel, even if it was inside a pit selling pure water. Just make sure you have God's backing and leading in whatever you do and wherever you go. Thank you.

From your comment, what I can deduce is that you value freedom over whatever a good authoritarian regime brings. As much as I agree with you on that. I still think that we all should pursue freedom and development, not one or the other. We too as Nigerians deserve the best. We have freedom, yes, we must also have development.
Rwanda has development, YES; but must also have freedom.

Very damn expensive in just about every thing. When I read people who probably may not have visited that city before say food is cheap there I sort of laugh and wonder if it wasn't the same city I once lived in. Every thing in that city is on the high side, and I mean very very high. A small bottle of water that was sold for #50 here in Nigeria at that time was sold for 400 rwf, which was equivalent of #200. #100k was not enough for me in a month. So it is very difficult to survive in Kigali if you don't have good business you are doing there that's giving you good money.

I once lived in Kigali Rwanda and over there in Kigali are many Ugandans who said Kigali is better developed and cleaner than Kampala Uganda. But I know things are far cheaper in Uganda than in Rwanda. In fact some of our Nigeria business people who lives in Kigali source for their goods from Uganda, I mean those who do not have enough money to buy from Dubai or China. In fact Uganda is to Rwanda what Nigeria is to other west African countries like Benin republic and Togo. Things are so cheap in Uganda compare to Rwanda that I began to wonder if Uganda has got a seaport or something. Because I just couldn't figure out why things will be too expensive in Rwanda but cheap in Uganda when the both countries are landlock countries. You buy things cheaper in Uganda but the costumes in Rwanda would like to flees you and charge you as costume duty almost half of the actual price you bought in Uganda. I wouldn't understand why it's like that over there in Rwanda.
