rvp20182:your stats are way off, Lagos has about 22 million people now. Your stats seem to be from a 2006 census What happened to Abuja, Aba, Kaduna, Illorin, and even Enugu |
TayserMahiri:Because chances are the Kenyan cities probably have better electricity and water supply... ![]() |
TayserMahiri: It runs in the night too Do you doubt the cable cars too? |
TayserMahiri:Oh please, your population growth rate is the same as Nigeria's 2.6% |
TayserMahiri:I was talking about mainly infrastructure(mainly roads) which comes with aesthetics such as lush lawns and some landmarks |
TayserMahiri:No idea... my guess would be some type of water resovoir What's the one in Nairobi used for? |
TayserMahiri:The Nigerian is a co-founder as well as the Kenyan meaning they both came together and discussed and idea and both agreed to make that idea a business. Golly... |
TayserMahiri:still bigger than any artist in your country |
sanctity454:the renders looked better |
From what I've seen some of our smaller cities(Uyo & Calabar) beat hands down Kenya's smaller cities(Kisumu & eldoret) Then again some of our other smaller cities(Aba and Ontisha, etc) dare not even try the comaprison |
254tobby:Did you read the comments on that video... Kenyans were saying they need a "This is Kenya" because they have alot of sh** going on in Kenya as well. |
rvp2018: Good excuse. I guess all those pics of roads i showed were under construction.I can't believe u guys thought all cities in Nigeria looked like Lagos, the danger of the one-sided story Keep in mind though there are some cities in Nigeria that are utterly disgusting, yea so not all cities look like Uyo or Calabar |
mtis:The monorail is still functional and works. It's Nigeria's first 24/7 functional monorail. Now are u going to say the cable cars are lies too? |
kikuyu1:Calabar is a different city from port harcourt. It was port harcourt's monorail that failed It's this one that failed https://phcitytraffic.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/554307_orig.jpg |
Continued from above: Calabar is a one of the major tourist places in Nigeria, that's why it looks good. It gets even better... They have a functional monorail, Does Kenya have that? https://www.calabarblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Calabar-monorail-maiden-ride-9.jpg https://i0.wp.com/calabarreporters.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cd7bf-calbar-monorail-4-768x323.jpg It gets even better there's cable cars close by(does Kenya have cable cars) https://cdn-travel.jumia.com/region_images/1533b3af1a8d9201f4f1ceb382c4005a3e9ac85a.jpeg https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2417/2089111752_47b190b0be_b.jpg Calabar is also home to the famous Calabar Carnival https://i.ytimg.com/vi/3hFuutoQoR8/maxresdefault.jpg Nice monuments: GERALD710 NairobiWalker when next ur in Nigeria, make sure to visit Calabar |

GERALD710:Let's compare upper hill roads to Uyo. I alredy showed u uyo which u refered to as uniformly slum. Now let's see upper hill just outside coco cola headquarters: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/415/19024923181_02b825bff5_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/538/18835147959_fca14106aa_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/315/18835171429_f247dd9754_b.jpg https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3914/19024485371_6d70e5c03e_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/957/28145966838_c18536c560_b.jpg https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b281/SE9/33208845.jpg ugly, dirty, chaotic roads compared to Uyo. Yes i know there may be a few outliers, there are likely some clean, beautiful streets in Upper hill. Lets take it from sky level. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4461/37866387452_3f4a1fb9ea_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4489/37866388772_acd5bff630_b.jpg poor landscaping here (remmeber we're comparing to Uyo,not a major Nigerian city) : https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DU8tEjSWsAMzerV.jpg If u want we can also compare Uyo(lesser known city in Nigeria) to a lesser known city in Kenya if u don't like the comparison to the the great upper hill of Nairobi |
GERALD710:This is the "slum" Uyo. Can u even compare the roads of upper hill to these roads? https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119912315.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911957.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911948.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911944.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911556.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/111914891.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985229.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985218.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/originals/21/8f/1f/218f1f7612e9c2f9b813f1e922b266b0.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985181.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985191.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985207.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/114101264.jpg |
GERALD710:Did u see the pics i posted on uyo. It's one city that beats Lagos in some aspects. It's comparable to Abuja in terms of road infrastructure. |
NairobiWalker:Golly, the man said Surulere is mixed income with low income and (lower) middle class income. You seem confused: Surulere is more like a district in Lagos with different neighborhoods in it Ojulegba is a neighborhood in Surulere that's obviously low-income. There are other neighborhoods that are more (lower) middle income Here are some pics of other neighborhoods in Surulere: https://www.plyconlimited.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/image_750/Plycon-Surulere-Showcase-030.jpg https://hotels.ng/landing/storage/2017-08-03-07:20:32.jpg https://hotels.ng/landing/storage/2017-07-25-12:54:03.jpg https://i0.wp.com/futurecapetown.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/untitled-12.jpg https://i0.wp.com/futurecapetown.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/untitled-37.jpg https://i1.wp.com/futurecapetown.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/untitled-33.jpg |
Nowenuse:no mind am |
NairobiWalker:Ojulegba is a freaking slum for goodness sake, not the average(middle class) |
That is not a low-income neighborhood... Try again |
Nowenuse:U wan make them cry ![]() I just dey wait make we do comparison btw our minor cities and their own. Are my pictures showing though, the ones I posted on uyo and enugu? |
Danielnino00:dem no fit try am. See as common Uyo dey even compete with their great Nairobi. Abeg, the pictures i posted, are they showing? I just want to make sure |
NairobiWalker:First off Ojulebga isn't middle class as you can see. Have u heard of Wizkid's song "Ojulegba" where he described the place as a place of hardship and how he had to hustle to be successful. Again ojulebga is a part of surulere. There are possibly other parts that could be considered middle class |
Another city in Nigeria :Enugu https://i.imgur.com/6EPbsqg.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vhcgXs5.jpg https://hotels.ng/guides/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/ENUGU-Coal-city.jpg https://i1.wp.com/thenakedconvos.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Enugu.jpg?resize=661%2C343 www.nairaland.com/attachments/5056626_aenuguftz_jpeg6b321ad59b985f93546a5355cba6591e https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7050/6914638947_604d6aa818_b.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7027/6476550751_9d42bc5f94_b.jpg https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1q7j5Ql6A1qfmwi0o1_1280.jpg https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8862/16999282103_eb728c9064_b.jpg |
NairobiWalker:As long as your ego is fine |
continued from above.. Uyo This city even beats Mombasa in terms of road infrastructure, and Uyo isn't even a major city in Nigeria. https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985181.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985191.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985207.jpg E-library: https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/113403583.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/114101264.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/117432036.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/117432046.jpg www.nairaland.com/attachments/3110019_10798201912_jpegb60470715db47f2cf2a279d9edab230c |
NairobiWalker:I schooled in America, thank you. yes they're neigborhoods that are more expensive that are farther away. But generally the CBD most likely has the most expensive buildings as as you go farther out prices come down... |
Uyo(capital of Akwa Ibom) A city other Nigerian cities can learn from Even the great upper hill of Nairobi can't boast of these roads seen in Uyo https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119912315.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911957.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911948.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911944.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911918.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119911556.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119324484.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/111914891.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985229.jpg https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/107985218.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/originals/21/8f/1f/218f1f7612e9c2f9b813f1e922b266b0.jpg Ibom Specialist Hospital Uyo( Nigeria First Quaternary Hospital): https://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/119991239.jpg |
Why mainly roads? Infrastructure is a wide term you are only narrowing down to roads for some cheeky reason.
